What The Future Could Hold

[member="Mystie"]

Once more he chuckled as he little scheme was caught. "You got me." He smiled with a soft shrug. As he escorted out, a speeder pulled up nearby with a Blood Knight driving it. They were his personal bodyguards trenched in armor with a red red dragon across it's chest. They were helmets that protected their identity. The only one who would not be wearing one would be Frecker, more of a brother to Romeo, than a guard. As they made their way to the speeder, Romeo opened the door for her to enter. "Ignore my personal guards...they have been serving my family for...well ever. My father had the order retired, but I returned them to honor. Each one is blood bound to me, and anyone I consider family. Blood, or not." As they got in, Romeo nodded to the guard, and the speeder was off.

"So...I could pry my way into your mind, though I believe you would fight against me....maybe you would enlighten me about yourself?"

Settling into the seat next to him, Mystie found herself without words. It had been many years since anyone had shown any interest in learning about her. Her time was spent telling others about themselves, answering questions and giving advice. Guiding others who have no care for her or how reading for them affects her. How to explain, how much to disclose? Finally, after a quick glance his way she looked down and said quietly " My Lord, you are correct... I would fight an attempt made by force, as would you. All answers you seek are within your grasp, you need only to ask." Taking his hand in hers, she closed her eyes. As she relaxed her body and mind, allowing her guard to drop. "Come, explore, learn what you wish" Focusing herself on inviting him in, until she felt his thoughts connect with hers. Relaxing further, she allowed him access to her thoughts and memories prior to their meeting.

Romeo's hand rose to her cheek as it gently caressed her skin in his palm. He shook his head in disapproval as the man's mouth opened to speak, then closed. Finally he did speak. "I can not enter your mind. Unlike you, my powers are weapons...going into your mind would hurt you." His hand rubbed her cheek once more, then fell next to her leg. "I am sorry,"

She knew his answer before he spoke the words, his reluctance to cause harm obvious in the gentleness of his touch. Knowing that he was correct, his powers were weapons, did not ease her reluctance to speak of herself. Her past was a painful and traumatic one that she would prefer to endure the excruciating pain associated with him ripping the memory from her mind than to have to remember and then speak the words aloud.
Mystie sat quietly, thinking carefully about his response, turning to face him she found her courage to speak. "Romeo, I wish not to talk about my past. I am Mystie, I read the fortunes of others as my trade. I have abilities that even I am just learning of and have no experience controlling yet. I allow my feelings to guide me. I make my choices and let no one control me. I am who I am now and do my best to keep my past from dictating my future." She slipped her hand into his and squeezed gently as the words "Will that suffice for today?" escaped her lips.

He understood having such a pass all too well, and understood that sometimes, opening old wounds with just words was all it took to break down. So he was more the obliged to let her have her mysterious past stay mysterious, for now. But as she gave the more obvious answer as to who she was now and asked if that was enough for now, he could only smile, and gently squeeze her hand back.

"If I tried to tell you about myself, and what I have done, and what I have seen...well you'd be better off reading a book about it. I am Romeo Sin, Lord of House Sin, King of Eclipstica, and a Sith Lord. I have waged wars, fought battles, and now...I am a shield to the galaxy from outside evils."

His understanding and acceptance if her reply was obvious in his. She knew that over time he would slowly draw the details from her. His willingness to go at her pace was such a relief. As he finished speaking she smiled and kissed his cheek. Mystie sensed there would be plenty of opportunities for serious discussions of both past and present in their future. Feeling the need to lighten the mood, Mystie grinned widely a mischievous twinkle dancing in her eyes as she settled back in her seat. "Are we there yet??" she whined at him adopting the voice of an impatient child on a long trip. "At the rate we are travelling, I may wither away to nothing before you feed me!!" Winking at him, "I cannot help you in your mission to protect the galaxy on such an empty stomach!!"

Sin moved his head to look over his Blood Knight's shoulder. The Eths moved into sight with it's slick looking features, this was the essence of the home away from home concept he had pushed into it. He simply tapped her thigh, and smiled. "And there we are." His hand moved over to point over at the large ship. With his smile wide, Sin was always approving of his own ship designs. It was that Sin family pride inside him.

The pride he felt as he motioned toward his ship washed over her, as her gaze followed his, she completely understood. The ship before her was breathtaking, the sight of the yacht inspired an immediate sense of calm and comfort within her. Mystie looked forward to exploring every nook and cranny. A picture flickered in her mind of her seated near what appeared to be a stainless steel island listening attentively as he cooked. As she found herself describing what she saw in her mind, she could feel Romeo's surprise growing. His curiosity was almost overwhelming, how she could possibly be describing his kitchen without having stepped foot into it. Growing quiet, she waited for the questions she knew were to come.

"That's...spot on." He managed to say as the speeder stopped, and quickly, Sin removed himself from the speeder. Opening the door the fortune teller, his mind went back to who had all been inside the ship. He could think of no one. With a simple wave of his hand, the hatch to the large yacht opened. "Ladies first." Sin bowed before her in a humbling manner to let her step inside first. The corridor to the inside was nothing spectacular, it was all white with a few monitors flashing to show what was all going on as far as the galaxy was concerned, and the ship's status.

Quietly moving ahead of him, Mystie felt a moment of uncertainty dance through her. His acceptance of her natural abilities seemed genuine, the acceptance radiating through her. As she viewed the monitors before her, she found herself lost in thought. She had felt the same from another only once before and trusted it completely only to be betrayed. Even as she knew their destinies were intertwined, she also knew it would bring as much heartache and pain as it would happiness and peace. She could feel him take her hand, guiding her down the corridor. As she followed him, focusing her thoughts concentrating on sharing her thoughts with him. His words that he couldn't enter her mind without inflicting pain were true, his powers were of a more violent nature. Mystie had not used her ability to share her thoughts with another in so long she wasn't sure she still could. Continuing to concentrate on Romeo and what she wanted him to know, she thought solely of him and the pool that she knew encompassed an entire floor this ship. She pictured the pool in her mind with great detail and her wish for him to take her there. Mystie lost concept of time amd movement. Reality setting in Mystie realized they had stopped and as she became aware of her surroundings, the magnificence amazed her. She found herself standing at the edge of the most beautiful pool she had ever seen. He was watching her, she could feel his stare. She locked gazes with him, momentarily unsure of his reaction. She said nothing, waiting for his reaction.

"Lost yourself didn't you?" He smiled at her, wondering if maybe this woman could touch the Force, then wondered if she should be allowed to touch the Force in fear of what it could do to a creature like her. As the image of the pool suddenly came to his mind, he smiled. "I'll take you swimming after the dinner. Promise." He turned to open a door that would slide open to reveal the same kitchen she had revealed to him earlier. "On my planet we have Silacanths that are large reptiles that provide us with livestock. While we also have Whisker Fish and Devlas plants that also provide food to my people. So I shall let you pick which you would like to try, though I believe I will be putting Devlas in the food regardless."

As she came back to her senses, his words surprised her little, she had been gifted with visions of possible events to come her entire life. There were enough variables that rendered no vision absolute, they were simply possibilities. She was curious to know much he had seen, she had always been able to transmit a picture type flash to another if they were touching, but she had a feeling that their connection would allow more. Should she talk to him about it, could she?? The memories of the disaster that became of her last attempt to open up to another made her momentarily reluctant. His smile and promise to take her to the pool along with the waves of understanding she could feel coming from him, instantly calmed her fears.
As she walked into the kitchen she immediately felt at ease, almost as if she belonged here. As he described her food options she made herself comfortable on a stool at the island in the center of the room. "Romeo, I am not a picky eater. I will leave the choice to you." She settled comfortably forward resting her chin on her hands, "Tell me more about planet, please."

With a quick crack of his fingers, Sin began to work on whipping up the reptilian meat, and using the force to grab pans and pots out of the cabinets that would be placed on the stoves. His hands worked the tough leathery meat while his hands would heat it up, this was the process he took to make sure the meat was not too tough to chew.

"PlanetS, actually. I command the entirety of the Shadow Realm system. It's history goes as far back as the Infinite Empire, a ancient faction that first used the darkside, least...this is what I understand it as. before it was the Shadow Dynasty, Eclipstica was under the Shadow Empire. For eight hours of it's daytime, it is eclipsed. The planet itself is masked in the darkside, and could be considered home to exiled, and refugees. Though, soon, my oldest sister will be sitting on that throne..." His voice trailed off at the thought of her. He had yet to actually sit down and talk with her, to hug her. She had been hidden from him for so long.

Mystie watched as he began preparing the food, his ease and comfort in doing so obvious. As his description of his planet turned to thoughts of his sister, she could feel his sadness and pain as if it were her own. She lost focus on his words concentrating solely on the emotions behind them. Sensing his need to talk, she whispered "Crucifere, please tell me more about your sister...."

Stopping for only a moment, he did not wish to speak of his sister, not when it would take too long. That, and he saw what was happening here. Once he believed the meat was more than handled enough, he placed it in one of the pans to be cooked slowly while reaching into the fridge for Delvas fruits. They were sweet, and would help clear up the strong taste of the meat.

"I see what is happening here...and I will only tell you about her...if you tell me more about yourself. This is the deal, there is no bargaining."

She felt a moment of panic, he was going to force her to talk to him about herself. Closing her eyes and taking a deep breath, her heart racing. It had been so long since anyone had wanted to learn about her. She could feel his resolve and that he was not going to budge an inch on this. Opening her eyes she whispered quietly, "What would you like to know? I will answer any question you ask..." The look in her eyes pleaded with him to understand that she was not trying to be uncooperative, she genuinely had no idea where to begin or what to say.

A smirk crept on the face she stared at the back off as Sin wondered what he wanted to know first. He turned to look at her and saw the look she was giving him, and sighed. "Let's start with....your parents?" He turned back his attention to the food, cutting up each fruit into slim slices, and placed them on the meats. Next he would take juices from the fruit he had saved, and pour it into the pan to simmer the meat in it. "Yes...that's what I want to know."

Relief washed over her and was apparent in her smile. He understood and was going to start with the basics. "I don't know my father or even who he is. My mother refused to talk about him. She is a simple woman of no importance to many. She raised me alone with little assistance from anyone. She is strong and wise and quite independent. My abilities worry her and were a constant source of friction between us. She sees my abilities as a darkness to be feared. I have always been unsure. She is one of the reasons I am unsure of myself and my abilities. I have had no contact with her in 20 years."

As she spoke, he continued the cooking, his ears perking each time her words reached his ears. The meat began to darken, but not just yet was it ready. With her final words, Crucifere turned to look at her, and leaned against the counter. "Coffee?" He turned to press a button his hand coffee pot that always seemed to be there when he needed the caf. The brown drink slowly began to pour into the pot as he turned, and said. "Please, continue." He winked at her.

"Yes, please" she answered. His wink eased her fear even more. She could feel his understanding and it continued to calm her. She could hear his questions in her mind as clearly as if he had spoken them. She began speaking "Slow down, please. I know you have many questions, but I can only focus on one at a time. Let's start with her fear. You want to know why she was afraid and I have no answer. She never said and my abilities were not developed enough at the time for me to be able to accurately read her. As I grew older more abilities appeared and with each she became more and more domineering and abusive. Until the day came that I left and never looked back." Pausing she quietly watched him continue preparing their dinner, admiring his skill and adeptness in his kitchen. Tilting her head and smiling slightly, she asked "How much longer until the caf is ready?"
