What's This Place Like?

Haytham Kaze

Judge, Judgury, Judgecutioner
Haytham smiled at her again. He just wanted to reassure her, to let her know that everything was going to be fine whilst he trained her. But he would be a liar if he said that. He wanted to tell her that everything would be fine, but he couldn't, he wanted her to understand that things would only go the way she wanted if she had the strength to do so. When she succeeded that was when things were going to be going the way she wanted.

"Yes, we are in agreement again. Actions do speak much louder than words," he says with a nod of his head. He agreed. He wasn't the best with words, but he knew that actions was the language that everyone understood better than words. It was words that drew people to you, but it was actions that kept them at your side and behind you. Which was why he meant to stick to his word, and allow his actions to follow through so that he would have his first... Acolyte, if he could call her that.

"Good," he said with a faint smile.

"I'll let you know that what you did before, when you were rubbing your hand, that was the use of the Force. A subconscious use of it I believe, well done." He cants his head to the side as he looks her up and down. "With your condition, are you able to grow muscles and get stronger physically?"

There was a small bit of relief, and reassurance at his smile. That certainly helped her feel a little more comfortable, given the slightly odd situation. Security, and knowledge that things would be different, better, and he wasn't going to walk away on her. That was all she needed to start to feel safe, and allow the tiniest threads of trust to form, to maybe just maybe gain some tiny hope for the future. She then offered a nervous smile in return.

When Haytham mentioned her hands, she couldn't help but glance down to them. A soft small gasp escaped her lips. "I had no idea." That certainly came as a small surprise. "I never paid much mind to it before. I only knew it made my hands feel a little better." She sat back and thought for a moment to his question. "I can, so long as I able tolerate the pain that will come before that. The way it works, it slowly attacks the nervous system, stripping away their outer layers of the nerves, causing intense pain. If it goes unchecked, organ failure can result. Transplants of cloned organs reset that clock. And in that, I have a benefactor to supply cloned organs as long as I need them." She shrugged slightly, "I've not tried to do so in a long while. The last transplant made everything a lot better. Reducing pain, giving more life. So, I believe it can be done. I know it can. I just am not sure to what degree."

He nodded his head again. The darkly garbed Sith humming a faint tune on what he thought to say. With that information in mind, he immediately made a mental note to check up on her rare disease. Even if it was rare, he assumed he would find a lot of information on it through the HoloNet. It was rare after all, and seemed to not have a particular cure. Doctors flocked to things like that, right?

I would.

He huffs as he rolls his shoulders back. "That is good to hear," he says with another smile, pearly white teeth shining in the faint light of the sun. "If you're truly serious about this, meet me here tomorrow after dark. Make sure to pack whatever you think you'll need. Clothes, obviously, any kind of weapon. And... Make sure to do as much homework as you can about the Jedi and Sith. Just check out the HoloNet, I don't want you to be upall night," he said with a smile before he climbed back onto the rock behind him.

"I hope you come, Amnell, I really want to help you." He'd smile again, the sun behind him, masking much of his features for a moment if she'd look up to him.

"Make sure to say your goodbyes to those you care about too. You are after all, going on the adventure of a life time."

"Tomorrow." She repeated, her tone speaking volumes that she was still thinking on it a little. After a brief moment of pondering she spoke again, "I'll be here and be as prepared as I can be. Thank you, Haytham for this chance. It means more than you know." This would mean packing what few things she owned, dragging her droid along with her and well goodbyes didn't need to be said. She'd not see her parents in many years, much less spoken to them. It seemed they'd forgotten the holocom worked both ways.

With that she turned and headed back off to her home. Amnell gathered her stockpile of medications, her clothing, and of course Nine. He was there to give commentary as she packed.

"A trip?" He whistled in binary.

"Yes, a trip. I don't think we'll be coming back here to Ossus and time soon. But truth be told it's time to leave this behind."

"But I liked it here."

"So? You can stay if you want. I'm sure the scrappers would love you."

"Nooo, no I'll come with you."

"Thought so." She said with a grin as she closed the large duffel of her belongings. Now as for weapons, Amnell actually carried none. Nine was her weapon. Well not so much weapon as distraction to allow her enough time to escape whoever was attacking her. So far in her life it had worked well.

She spent the rest of the time studying Jedi and Sith alike. Pouring over all sorts of records and old journals of Sith and Jedi that had come before her time. Finally as the night grew late, she turned off her datapad and headed to bed.

At sunrise, she climbed from bed and pulled out a small pile of medication to take to help her along for the day. With that done and R-9 Unit in tow she headed back to the temple to find Haytham.
