The Mountains of Soceras. Thousands of years of civilization had not removed the innate dangers of this sagacious planet or the massive poverty that lurked nestled in these mountains. With poverty came disease, and with disease came suffering. Lumi knew all too well about poverty--as well as the pain that it brought. She shuttered in her silken white shirt. She couldn't bear to hear or feel the sounds of the suffering. For many people, the sufferings were only to be seen and heard. But for Lumi, pain for them was a tangible thing. Their suffering was her own. Their agony she shared. And, yes, she could turn and run, or look the other way, but--

"That is not what I was given this gift for," she said softly. Her fingertips felt the gentle inner linning of her leather gloves as the woman slid them on both hands. It was more than style or sanitation, with her weak immune system, it was a matter of life and death to keep herself free from even common germs.

"Doctor Snow, we have arrived," one of the volunteers commented as they entered the room.

The woman leaned her head back slightly, the man's surface level thoughts buzzing in the back of her mind like a soft hum. It gave her a small bit of illumination in this room, almost like a candle in the dark. Lumi knew she could dig into his mind, making it brighter for her, but she did not. Such a thing would be rude, if not dangerous for him. However, she could feel his emotion; fear.

"Carl, there is no need to be afraid," she said giving her unpaid intern a soft smile. "You want to be a doctor one day, don't you?"

"M-more than anything," he said, and she could feel his spirits rising.

Lumi motioned to where she knew the door was--only by her memorization of the Chrome Ark. "Well then, Carl, consider this your first step to becoming the doctor."

She followed him through the ship, finding it strange that the Dal'Bor University had been so generous to her causes of late. Someone was her angel in the sky, whoever this shadowy benefactor was, his assistance in the LAINA project and now this--they wanted a lot to help the people of this planet that was clear.

Mountains. Cool air. And suffering. A stark contrast from the previous personal hell the masked Knight had endured, but a hell none the less. Sighing softly, he heard the access door of the ship that just landed begin to open.

"Well James, redemption from one hell, in exchange for another..." the soft, melodic tones flitted forth, slightly muffled by his mask. Golden eyes shifted towards the ship, as he could feel the Doctor aboard before seeing her. In that instant he folded in upon him self, suppressing his Force signature through usage of the Art of the Small. After sealing up his reflexive mental bulwarks, he turned to face the duo descending from the vessel.

"Doctor Snow, I presume?" He asked, masked face inclined slightly, angling towards one shoulder. He hoped he was at the right landing pad, and that James wasn't just screwing with him... well, what are brothers for, right?

Lumi followed after Carl the unpaid intern down the ramp. She could feel the mountain air on her skin and smell the scent of poverty; rotting refuse, uncleaned bodied, the smell of death and dying, and the scent of ill grown crops. Her mind could see the auras of the living like lightening bugs in the midnight sky--or at least how had been told they appeared. One was closer than the others, one that distinctly caught her attention. Lumi tilted her head, studying it for a moment.

He was feline, that was clear, as well as benevolent. She followed Carl's aura to the base of the ramp where he stood, her boots kicked up dirt from the makeshift landing pad they had used.

The doctor smiled, "Yes of course. It's a pleasure to meet you," she motioned to the intern by her side, "This is Carl, a medical student in the university of Dal'Bor who will be assisting me."

Carl gave a slight wave and a smile. "Hiya."

Behind the young scientist her army of droids began to unload the goodwill relief efforts; medical supplies.

"I don't know if you are familiar with the SVC-697/Alpha virus?" she asked cordially.

"For most humanoids, this virus is harmless and vaccination against it is common on developed worlds," she explained producing a personal air filter. "The early stages are problematic but treatable; mild coughing, a slight fever, difficulty concentrating," the doctor carefully fitted the mask over her mouth and nose, stealing her frail body from the pathogens. "However after a month, the pulmonary tract has been so damaged, hospitialzation is required. After two, death is possible," the doctor wrapped her head in a dark olive green scarf, hiding her rebreather and most of her face, "after three, death is eminent." from behind her facial covering the doctor gave an unseen smile "But be of good cheer, SVC-697/Alpha is highly treatable."

Observing the droids assisting the doctor, the young Knight turned his attention back to the doctor herself, and her assistant. Golden eyes flitted between the two of them, before nodding to each in turn. "I am Ryn'Dhal. I was sent to lend a hand in any way that I may. I am at your disposal." He'd state, giving a deep bow before the two.

The masked face angled again, slightly perplexed. "I'm afraid that virus is new to me. I would not be surprised if I'd already been inoculated to it, but one can't be too careful, correct?" He'd ask, his voice still carrying it's ever present musical tone. "Beyond aiding the sick, what are you expecting in this endeavor, Doctor Snow?"

He hoped this would remain a mission of mercy, but he was a Jedi. He was as much a warrior as he was a healer. He disliked the thought of needing to resort to violence, ever.... but much of Soceras was still 'wild', brigands and ruffians still loose, even if they'd been cleared out of most of the major metropolitan areas by James and his crew.... Beneath his cloak, his fingers brushed against the curved hilts of his twin lightsabers, resting at the small of his back. Here was hoping the badness remained away. A quiet mission was always a blessing.

Lumi smiled and nodded, she liked this fellow. He was nice enough, and his voice did sound rather pleasant. "You are right, Ryyyyhn," she said her, voice catching on the "y" in a breathy vowel that betrayed her lack of basic as a primary language. "Caution is key. Just to be safe, afterwards I can give you antibiotics to take for a week to ensure your ongoing health."

She turned to Carl, "Would you mind overseeing the prepping of the pavilion?"

"Yes, Ma'am, right away," Carl said before springing off.

She looked partially back to Ryn, her face tilting off to the side slightly. Yes, she could not see, but she had learned some time ago that those who could see found those sorts of nonverbal communication cues indispensable.

"Oh what do I want?" Lumi asked slightly taken aback. She had gotten so used to running medicine, doing research, and giving her all that she had--well, she was still slightly taken aback when people expected her to want something. But, this was a big galaxy and a lot of people wanted something for their actions, it was only to be expected.

"I suppose I just want to help people," she said at last, "I have been doing this sort of thing for a long time, where I come from we believe that every being is given a purpose by the Great Weave. Its much like your Fffhorce that many people believe in. My purpose is to help heal people, its what I am best at."

[member="Ryn'Dhal"]

He couldn't help but smile. First, at the charming little catch on his name, and then again when she spoke of her desire to aid others. He was of a similar mindset. Yes, this mission would be a good one, he would see to it. Moving a little closer, albeit leaving plenty of space for a personal 'bubble', His gloved hands would clasp behind his back. He did take notice of the fact that her glance was not directly at him, which made him believe she might not possess properly effective sight, if any visual capabilities at all. That struck him as somewhat odd, but not unheard of.

The smile was still evident in his voice, though at a closer proximity, the fact that his voice was impeded by his mask would be that much more evident. "That is good, Doctor Snow. I will be more than willing to render what aid I may give. Perhaps I can tend to any patient who need care outside the scope of the virus? Broken bones, abrasions, and other such physical ailments are.... well.... a specialty.... of mine." He wasn't quite certain how the Doctor or her assistant would take to his use of the Force to heal, so would rather not show that hand right away, if it wasn't needed.

It was at this time he saw the first of the impoverished villagers approaching. A young man was aiding a older, frail woman. She seemed unable to bear weight on her own, and judging by the slightly unfocused expression she wore, her vision was addled somehow. "It seems our first patient is arriving."

"Any assistance at all would be greatly appreciated, I am sure that any medical treatment in these parts is few and far between--if there is any at all," she said with something of a dismal sigh. It did hurt her so to hear of so much pain. And to feel it.

Speaking of feeling, she could feel the first set of patients coming there way, the older lady and the young man with him. Both were like twinkling candles, hers was laden with the years, a rich golden feel, his was like a young sap tree, just beginning to see the world for what it was. However

"Hello, do you speak basic?" Lumi asked the pair cheerily as they approached.

The old woman gave a slight feeling of confusion off her, the young man gave a semi waving feel of attempting to understand.

"Little, yes," said his voice.

"Carl, my kit please," Lumi asked.

"Here ya go, ma'am," said the young redhead, and she heard him lift a safebox from one of the others.

Lumi extended her hand and tapped its hard metallic surface before gripping the latch gently and revealing what looked like standard medical supplies. The doctor pulled out a handheld scanner. She held it an inch from the woman's body, it presented a rapid series of information to Lumi through an earpeice.

"This woman came to us just in time," Lumi said as she gripped a syringe of antiboitics.

After a quick clearing of the entry point, the healing medicines were injected into the woman's arm.

"Carl, the pills please," Lumi asked holding her hand out.

She felt the bottle pressed into her hand before she turned to the young man, her mind tapped his gently, sending the idea as she spoke it slowly and clearly. She felt that the life or death of this woman was worth the slight breach in normalacy, "Give her three of these pills a day, morning, noon, and night. Each time, let her have water too, as clean as you have it. Don't worry, we will be back to dig a well soon."

I hope, Lumi thought after she disconnected from the lad.

"Thank you," he said before helping the woman up and trundling away with her.

[member="Ryn'Dhal"]

He watched her work, marveling at how effortlessly she made it seem, the ease at which she dealt with the patients. Then, at the word water, he snapped his fingers. "I knew I'd forgotten something important! I just didn't make the connection till now. Can you part with a pair of your droids? My.... employer.... Supplied me with enough water aboard my freighter to provide at least a weeks worth of fresh water to each household in this village, with some to spare!"

Excitedly, and without waiting for her to respond, he reached up to his mask, toggling the communication array. "Emvee! Get the pallets ready. We'll be unloading them shortly." He seemed to suddenly burst to life, energetic charisma radiating as he finally saw his window to actively do some good in this area. He hated stagnation, sitting around doing nothing, waiting for the opportunity to act. But here was his chance to do something, so he was taking it in both claws.

Looking back to Doctor Snow and Carl, the broad smile was ever present in his voice. "Also, as I deliver the water, and any other supplies my benefactor supplied me with, I can see what kind of attention is needed by the villagers, and even arrange to get the infirm brought to you, or vice-versa, as needed." He'd state, cheerfully. "Does that sound satisfactory, Doctor Snow? This is your show, after all. I am just here to help you, and your assistant, to succeed."

That was a miracle. The doctor half wanted to ask who his employer was, the other half was too smart to do that. The benefactor of Dal'Bor University had been strictly kept to their privacy and desire to be unknown. She was beginning to wonder if that was how the rest of the galaxy worked.

"My great thanks," Lumi said, waving two of the droids over. "I trust your wisdom and assistance."

She felt another frail being drawing close, cutting her thoughts off where she was thinking. A middle aged man stumbled closer, Lumi could hear his ragged breathing congested with phlegm and congestion.

The doctor swallowed as the man collapsed on the chair. She could feel his life ebbing away. She quickly gripped the next neddle and sank the antibiotics into his body.

"Carl, we need to act quickly, this man is in critical," she said passing the scanner over his body. "Water drip, the bacta drip, and the Sev-40. Stat."

"Yes, ma'am."

[member="Ryn'Dhal"]

Ryn was just wrapping up giving instructions to M1 to direct the two borrowed droids, when he heard the Doctor's elevated tone about her newest patient. He approached swiftly, concern rich in his melodic voice, "How critical? What's failing?" He'd reach towards the man, gloved hands near, but only a few inches away from touching the older mans shoulders.

It was at this moment he dropped his suppression, his Presence within the Force radiating outwards, flowing freely, touching and weaving with the aura's of those around him. Most specifically, his presence weaved with the old-man's. Gently caressing, seeking for where the weaknesses and infirmities lay. His eyes closed slightly, as he'd exhale softly. "There...." He'd breath the word, concentrating on what he felt.

The Force was a powerful tool in the hands on one who knew where to apply it. The flows of energy from Ryn into the old man, and back again, cycling between the two, to create a balance. It was brief, a matter of moments, before the flow harmonized between the two. To those who only saw in the natural, Ryn'Dhal was merely standing with his hands near the man, breathing controlled, calculated breaths. Then, the old man's breath eased, matching the pacing of the masked man's breathing. The old man seemed to be less pained, less troubled, and seemed to visibly relax in the seat before the Doctor.

But the Doctor, who was gifted with unnatural sight, would catch glimpses of the super-natural taking effect. Ryn wasn't capable of fixing all that was wrong in the man, but he was, however, capable of speeding the natural healing process, and accelerating the vaccine's course through the man's system. From what she could feel, with her untrained natural abilities, she would hopefully be able to make the logical jump that whatever it was that Ryn'Dhal was doing, would help accelerate and amplify the effects of what treatments she would apply to the patient.

Softly, the masked man spoke, so as to not rouse the old man from his near sleep-like-trance. "I can only do so much on my own Doctor... I need you to do your part, for mine to have it's true effect." That same smile was still there, audible in his soft, melodic voice.

Lumi felt her mind's eye dazzled for several minutes. She could feel herself physically blinking as she tried to process what she was seeing. A dazzling array of colors flashed before her, so real so real they were almost tangible--the moment sent a pang of longings through her. A series of ghost sensations went through her body as the blind woman's mind tried to comprehend what she was feeling; the feeling of supple leather went over her tender skin. The taste of cherries filled her tongue in a prickly sensation, the scent of @Zenva Vrota's perfume filled her nostrils in a tangy, sweet smell.

The Doctor had to take a step back and brace her arms across her stomach to catch her breath against the surge of stimuli. It was--unexpected to say the least. His words brought her back to the present, the man in need of their help.

She stretched out her hands and felt Carl place her needed tools one by one. With the dexterity of a practiced hand, she tied off the bacta drip on the left arm, the water on the right, both suspended from the chair itself. Next she felt the inhale pressed into her hands, Severol-40, a very powerful if not expensive inhaled antibiotic. After a few inhales of the potent stuff, the man in the chair soon was able to breath again. The water and bacta, of course, would stay to help the man recover from his resulting dehydration. The doctor could feel sweat begin to bead on her brow from the sudden exertion.

"What was that?" she asked softly, catching her breath.

[member="Ryn'Dhal"]

He concentrated on the man for a few moments more, before he knew the medicine and the re-hydration would run its course. The man was in the home-stretch to being free and clear, just a few more minutes of rest and he'd be ready to be escorted back to his home. Meanwhile Emvee trundled by, whistling and chirping cheerfully, with two larger droids following behind carrying pallets of water to the village, where the able-bodied youth would begin taking water containers to the different homes.

Exhaling softly, he then heard the Doctor speak. His golden eyes snapped up, locking on her face through those thin slits of his mask. Now, that he was open, no longer suppressing himself, he could feel her. He realized, she could see what he did, but not in the natural sense. It made some things clear. "You mentioned it earlier...." He mused softly. He moved closer to the seated Doctor, as he reached under his cloak, drawing out a fresh container of water, placing it in her hands. At close range, where only the Doctor herself, her assistant, and the not-full-coherent old-man could hear, he spoke further. "I am a Jedi. We're not terribly common out this far.... But, my friend.... Who asked me to come assist you.... He knew these people needed help.... And he, being as intelligent as he is, likely knew that while the Force has vast potential, and great capabilities, it can only do so much. But on the same token, medical science can only work so fast."

His gloved hands folded around Lumi's, as he closed her fingers around the bottle of water. "So I am certain this is exactly why he sent not just one of us, but both of us here. Together. We will accomplish more as a team, than either of us would be able to do individually." He'd glance up from his kneeling position, golden eyes locking on Carl's. "That sound logical to you, Carl?"

Lumi pulled her scarf and breather aside, taking the water in a few sips at a time. Her body was too frail to take all this at once, even on her best days. She had to start working on her stamina and her own health if she was going to be able to make a better difference in this galaxy. It didn't slow down for sickly girls.

"You are right," she agreed, wiping her mouth with the back of her glove. She worked a few kinks out of her necks before making her next confession, "The university is kept up and running by a benefactor, someone I haven't been told who this is, or what they are. Frankly, it worries me some. But, I have a feeling you know who they are," she stored the bottle of water in a satchel, "And--and--I am not too sure what that means except that your important, somehow. In the grand scheme of things. Or at least he thinks you are."

"I think it sounds like a good idea to me, sir," Carl said in his slightly squeaky voice.

Lumi nodded. She was a good enough judge of character, and this fellow who smelled of catnip seemed alright enough to her. She replaced her breather and scarf carefully. It was time to get this into high gear, and there was only one way this was going to happen. She tapped her two pointer fingers against her thumbs twice. A soft beep in her ear followed the sound of a slightly familiar voice, "Hello, Mistress Snow, did you miss me?"

"LAINA, we need to get this work done, and we need it taken seriously. Can you do that for me?"

"Of course, Mistress."

Lumi suddenly heard a rumble coming from behind her left, 'What is that?"

[member="Ryn'Dhal"]

His senses were significantly keener than any of those in the immediate vicinity, so that rumbling caught him off guard as well. But the shrieks coming from the villagers in that area weren't confused for anything but what they were. A low, rumbling vocalization emanated from masked man, almost like a snarl. "James did mention Raiders might still be an issue...."

Standing up, he looked to the two of them, and shook his head. Snapping his eyes back to his ship, he called out, "BB! Contact home-base! We might need some back up.... Of the restrained kind, thank you!" Looking back, he nodded, mostly to himself. "I am unsure their numbers, but something bad is coming this way. I'll see what kind of time I can buy you.... but we might be interested in temporary evacuations...."

The Force enhancing him, Ryn'Dhal launched from his position near the two, kicking up a small dust-devil from the force of the action. He'd tap one foot upon a portion of the Doctor's shuttle, pushing off to launch even higher. It was at this time he saw the projectile coming in hot, a trail of smoke behind it. "Oh feth m---" He'd throw his hands up just in time, willing the Force to push with all his might. A semi-circular 'bubble' enveloped the missile, redirecting the scorching fire of the blast away from the Jedi, but not so much the force of said explosion.

A sudden, dull -thud- could be heard, as Ryn'Dhal crashed back to earth, but not before bouncing off of the good Doctor's ship. "You -cough- see.... Sometimes -cough-wheeze- I.... I think being so merciful.... can -cough- be a bad thing...." His voice was cool, still soft, but rich with anger. "I.... I cannot abide those.... who care so little for innocent lives...." He'd have pulled himself into a kneeling position, taking a steadying breath doing so. "Things.... might get.... unpleasant...."

"Ya kriffin dumb, eh? I told ya, we only had the one rocket!" One of the brigands snarled, slapping his comrade upside the head. "I told ya, we needed to make sure we got most of them all gathered up before shootin' it!"

"I'm sorry boss, I just, I just got so excited! I saw them ships, and I thought, 'Hey, them blowin' up would make an even bigger 'splosion!', so I shoots it. I'm sorry boss!"

"Well, stupid, sorry ain't gittin me another rocket, now is it! Ugh.... Get ya blaster ready. We gonna bloody 'em the old fashioned way!"

Lumi felt another batter of the sensory overload as more of the Jedi tricks made their way through. However, these were gentler, and she was braced for it. That made it easier for her to get through the blast of stimuli. She shook her head out of it. Yes, right. Get out. Gather the people.

"I can get that covered, Ryhhn," Lumi said, her voice getting more surgical and tatical. She had to get them out of here if anyone good was going to be able to make it out alive. "LAINA, can you hear me?"

"Of course, Mistress," the AI's cool voice replied.

"I need you to use the scanners, tell me how many beings are within this village, minus Carl and I."

"I am detecting 352 different lifeforms, of them 150 are designated as sentient," LAINA answered.

Lumi nodded. 150. They could barely squeeze all of them onto the Chrome Ark if they left the droids behind and jettisoned all of the food goods.

"LAINA, I need the land speeders here, two of them," she ordered.

"Of course, Mistress."

Lumi turned to Carl placing a hand on his shoulder. She could feel his fear in him, but he was brave. He was willing to help however he could. Through the closeness he strengthened his courage, "I need you to take one of the speeders, start ferrying as many people onboard as we can."

"Yes, Ma'am."

Lumi hopped onto one of the other ambuance speeders, casting a backward glance at Ryn. Whips of he white hair fell over her unseeing eyes behind her scarf, "Good luck," she slammed the door behind her, "Alright, LAINA, let's see what this speeder's got."

[member="Ryn'Dhal"]

"Thanks...." He'd nod, thankful that he could focus on his task at hand. It was at that moment that the first of the goons crested the ridge beyond his own ship. A blaster rifle was leveled, and a single round fired. The scorching bolt of energy screamed through the air, zeroing in on the temporal region of the snow-haired Doctor's head as the door was shutting. A lance of silver-light sprang forth, catching said red bolt and directing it to the earth. The signature song of lightsabers dancing in the air thrummed as Ryn's twin sabers began their dance about his body. Any learned in the art of saber combat would recognize the defensive rings of the Soresu, or Form III.

"You have made a terrible.... terrible mistake...." The masked Jedi intoned, before extending an arm out in a wide swing, sending another bolt directed at the ginger-haired intern harmlessly into a nearby rock formation. "And that.... was another.... Carl!" Ryn called back, not taking his eyes off of the raider. "Please do not think less of me for what I must do!"

With that, Ryn became a blur of motion, covering the next several meters in a instant, the sizzling of cloth of flesh audible, a saber passing swiftly through the heart of the would-be murderer. His second saber began working, dancing about, deflecting blaster-fire from below. On the lower ground, approaching their encampment, was easily a dozen more raiders, all of whom have opened fire upon Ryn'Dhal in reprisal for slaying their comrade.

"I see twelve..." The masked Knight muttered to himself, almost scoffing. "I've had worse odds...."

Carl gave a sharp *eep* of surprise as adrenaline began to course through his veins. His hand gripped the shift and slammed the metal joystick into gear. The speeder lurched forward as he floored the gaspedal, knocking over a stack of crates and a fence. Oops.

Lumi could hear the encounter and see the twinkling lights of their consciousness. She felt the familiar pang of fear and agony as a life force was snuffed out. Her body shuddered as she struggle to stay on task. She had to--she had to--rescue the people.

The doctor felt a trio of life forms on her forward right, "LAINA, pull alongside those beings."

"Of course, Mistress," the cool AI intoned as the speeder came to perfect halt alongside the humans.

"Get in, get in now!" Lumi shouted opening the passenger door.

The villagers wasted no time as they clambored onboard. A hoast of more people began surging towards the apparent rescue, and their only hope against the attackers. The doctor felt a malicious, dark crimson like being behind them. He tasted of bitterness and rage.

Lumi gripped her tranquilizer from her belt. Her thumb cranked the dosage and range to their maximum with a swift movement.

"You have a 75% hit chance at this range, Mistress," LAINA reminded her softly.

"Thank you," Lumi said raising her nonlethal weapon. The distance was clearly at her Max capacity, 60 yards and closing, if she could even reach that. She reached out, feeling the distance between her and the target. She could feel his breathing, his steps, his jostling.

Her finger depressed the trigger and he fell to the ground with a heavy thud. The refugees clambored into the ride, screaming with terror.

"Let's move, LAINA."

[member="Ryn'Dhal"]

There was a pang of guilt as the raider fell, lifeless on the ground. That guilt was quickly replaced by fury, as the others opened fire. These monsters weren't men. They were here to harm innocents. To harm those unable to defend themselves. So, he gave them a new target.

A savage battle cry was given, one that actually caused some of the terrain around the masked Knight to crack, shards of stone elevating into the air momentarily, before scattering erratically, as the Knight charged forth, sabers orbiting about his body in his trademark style. Blaster bolts deflecting harmlessly aside, as he began severing barrels from blasters. A pair of unfortunate raiders lost a portion of an arm during the flurry.

Screams of fear and pain muddled his concentration, as it'd been quite some time since his last large-scale conflict, that he missed it. Two, behind that large boulder. One with a flachette launcher, the other with a sonic rifle. They came around the boulder simultaneously, firing at the unsuspecting Jedi in unison.

Ryn's whole world froze for a moment, the pain ripping through his body. The body armor absorbed most of the metal shards launched from the one gun, razor bits tearing deep into flesh, but the real damage came when that sonic pulse tore through his torso. Deep bruising, and an abundance of internal bleeding, were the end result of the two pronged attack. Breath coming in ragged pants, before throwing both hands forwards, sending twin sabers hilt-deep into the chest of each raider.

As the sabers returned to his waiting hands, his barely contained rage simmered in his eyes, scanning the remaining raiders, most of who had lost a majority of their will to fight. "You...... you should run..... now...." He snarled. At that last word, the remains of broken weapons were dropped, as a rampaging chorus of screams of terror began echoing around the hills, a mass exodus in the form of a stampede from the resident harbinger of wrath.

After a few minutes, Ryn'Dhal staggered back up to the landing area. Swaying slightly, he felt a presence before he saw it. A slug-thrower round slammed into his chest. Luckily, it was a low-speed round. High stopping power, low penetration. Slamming into that body armor, it sent the Jedi sprawling upon his back, winded and disoriented. A masked individual approached, standing over him. "So, it seems someone other that my quarry came to stop the raiders.... no matter.... you may do just as well.... Tell your beloved James.... The Prosecutor sends his love!"

The last thing the Knight remembered before blacking out, was the shock stick being jabbed into his neck beneath his cowl, electricity wracking his body with pain, before the blissful release of unconsciousness took him.

______________________________

It was quite some time later when he returned to the conscious world, eyes opening slowly, hearing his name being called. "Y-yeah....I'm.... I'm-a awake.... I'm alive.... W-wu-what happened? James?" The confused Knight stammered, weakly batting away any hands attempting to remove any part of his armor or his mask from his person.

Lumi took another drink from her energy vitamin mix. It hadn't been easy fighting off those stragglers with nothing more than a tranquilizer and her own will power, but she had somehow managed. Lumi heard her patient on the operating table begin to wake up and jolt to life. It wasn't uncommon for patients who underwent such traumatic events to be--well shocked afterwards. She took a few steps towards him, back to the operating table.

"Its alright," she assured him, gently touching his shoulder.

As his arms began to wave around, she took a step back, cautious for what would follow next. He said something about a name. James? It was common enough in the galaxy, she supposed that this was a friend of his; or some lover perhaps? She wasn't about to judge this feline's life choices about guy love between two guys. After all, there was nothing gay about it in their eyes. Its guy love. Between. Two. Guys.

"You must have fought them off," Lumi said, "its alright. They were fleeing when I brought the ambulence around," Of course the doctor wasn't foolish enough to believe they had suddenly decided to turn around and high-tail it away. Perhaps they had gotten what they came for? She didn't know. "You spent the last hour in surgery, I pulled the shrapnel from your body, I recommend you take it easy, especially after what you've been through."

"Perhaps you should ask what happened," LAINA suggested in Lumi's ear.

The doctor shook her head slightly. If he wanted to tell her, or felt it was important, she was sure he would. Otherwise, it was not he place to ask about--well guy love.

Darting upright, when it dawned upon him that he was laid bare, his ears snapped back, flush against his scalp. Rolling off of the table, he removed and sensors or IV's attached and promptly began dressing himself again. The sooner he was covered again, the better. His mind was a flurry of thoughts, before he snapped too, sharpening his focus on the Force, erecting his limited bastion around his mind. He remembered, she was blind, yet she saw, so she had to have some extra sensory powers, and as such he was not sure what she made of him, if she even had any idea as to what he could be.

It was at this point that his body decided to remind him that he was not done recovering, much of the internal damage still present, as it would have required much more invasive surgery than would be possible to perform in a moving vehicle. Pain surged through him, dropping the robed, but not yet masked, Jedi to his knees. A wracking cough tore at his throat, as some blood escaped his maw. "Ah.... hells...." He muttered. "I.... I could use a cleaning... a cleaning rag.... here...." He muttered, holding out a ungloved hand towards the Doctor. Should she offer one, he'd promptly being cleaning his mess, after which he fell back into a seated position on the ground to begin concentrating on the Force, allowing the ebb and flow of the living Will to surge through him, accelerating his natural healing rate to levels far beyond what medical science was capable of. It was significantly easier to perform upon himself than upon others, with his knowledge of his own physiology significantly greater than his understanding of those of the other humanoid races.

A few, brief moments later, his eyes would open again, as he looked up at the likely bewildered Doctor. "I.... I wish to thank you.... for coming back for me.... And for saving me...." He was unsure what else to say, as he sat there, his ears pivoting about independently of one another, picking up and monitoring sounds as they filtered into the compartment of the ambulance.
