When the dead start dying

Corvus was totally unprepared and more than a little confused. As the containers flew at her she threw out her hands to catch them. Using the Force she held each one in mid-air, wondering how many more were going to come her way. She managed two words as this happened. "What the -"

The padawan looked at her master and spoke. "There are little other ways to make minor wounds since I haven't actually built a saber. This training blade is just in case of things, same goes with my force skills but healing needs wounds and it takes awhile to really get skilled at healing yourself." She shrugged, her master had asked how to practice and flinging containers at each other to make some wounds would do the job after all.

Realisation dawned on Corvus. Her Padawan hadn't suddenly fallen to the Dark-side. She smiled and nodded to show her recognition. Holding the objects that were thrown at her, she pulled them towards her. Closing her eyes, she allowed them to batter and bruise her - one or two grazing the skin and allowing some small trickles of blood to emirate from her hands and forearms.

"Will these do?"

She raised an eyebrow with a small smirk on her face as she moved over and rubbed her hands together.. more for show then for warmth as this planet was hot enough for her. The padawan looking at the bruises and where her master had been hit as she slowly let the force energies pool in her hands. The small glow she could see in the force just lightly before bringing one hand over and near her master. She set it on her pushing the force energy into the wound while workign on soothing energies and her breathing so she didn't pass out. One of the first lessons when you can lose yourself.

Corvus paid close attention to her Padawan's efforts at healing. "This is a skill I have struggled with if I am honest. Could you describe to me what you're doing, how it feels and what imagery you use to achieve the healing?"

Corvus was a firm advocate of the concept of learning being a two-way process between Master and Padawan. In general as well as specifics such as this. And she was never so proud as to pretend she knew it all.

She thought about how best to explain it while she stood there focusing for a moment and then two speaking finally as she licked her lips. "I visualize the force like water in my hands. Letting it pool in the palms before releasing it to coat the wounds and slowly heal it, knitting the flesh and muscles. Healing the wound and fighting infection if needed but above all it is about what you can do with it that matters and what you can make happen throughout the body. Then after that I focus on my breathing so I don't get lightheaded and pass out."

Corvus had used the metaphor of water many times before, so the concept worked well for her.

So she looked at a small cut that was still on her index finger. She closed her eyes and mentally cupping the Force in her other hand. Then she imagined it flowing from that hand to the finger that was injured. She imagined it healing the skin,closing the wound and ensuring there were no infections - purging any bacteria.

Mentally the process worked for her but as she opened her eyes she felt slightly dizzy. The finger was healed and remembering Elphaba's words, she focused on breathing in case she passed out.

"Excellent. That was excellent teaching, I am truly impressed." Corvus smiled at her Padawan. "What's next?"

She was looking upon her now carefully and nodding her head as her master was working hard on learning as well while the girl watched her. She almost seemed to pass out and speaking with a small tight lipped smirk. "It takes a while to figure out, Queen Mason taught a healers class and that is where I learned the trick, Masters Rianna and Leori taught the same techniques as well when they were within the Republic but now the healers circle is gone sadly. Not many, we should keep working on the lesson and see what there is. You never know what can come."

She looked at her master for a moment like the woman had grown a second head. "Beyond the obvious reasons? I am a padawan and only those who toe the general line have chances within the order. It is why so many jedi have left or disappeared to try and form their own orders. I can understand their frustration having been around and observing since Selena grandmaster Wraith before her." She kept her emotions in check but knew she was voicing the frustration others had given when spoken to.

Corvus listened - it was clear this was a subject close to Elphaba's heart. "OK. Back to the lesson for now. After the repair of cuts and so on, what actually comes next?"

Corvus was conscious that the subject was far from over but now was not the time to progress the conversation.

The suddenness of it was like jerking into a new direction. her mind was trying to reel and come to bare it while she stepped back brushing herself off for a moment. Grabbing a food cube from a compartment on her belt before she popped it into her mouth letting out a line of air. "There are not many lessons to healing, at least not ones I know... We do not have ones to teach the rest of the lessons such as revitalizing a large group or how to heal across distances through a medium."

Corvus reflected on this for a second. The roles were definitely reversed at the moment. "So are repairing broken bones just like what we have practiced only more challenging? What about illnesses or poisons?"

[member="Elphaba nic Arose"]

[member="Corvus Raaf"]

"You can't heal poisons not really. Detoxing them is possible but you have to know what you are doing, you need a master who knows how to do it. Practicing without one who knows means you can endanger yourself and each other. Mending bones is another story that you need broken ones to practice, since the doctor we had in the infirmary was run off we haven't had open classes down below to learn how best to do it."

She looked at her wondering while she thought about what her and her master could do. She was looking at the equipment around again while checking her armor. THe smile on her face. "Well now I think we can go worm hunting nothing like the thrill of chasing down something large"

There was something cheeky about Elphaba's humour and it was infectious. Corvus smiled widely. "I presume the armour will afford some protection, so let's see if we can find a young one that's not fully grown."

And with that Corvus winked at Elphaba and pulled the Force to her, searching the vicinity for the presence of any of the large predators.

"Armor always offers protect as does skills with heat regulation." She had a small smile now while closing the helmet up with a hiss as it sealed. The HUD coming online while the blue glow from the eyes shown through She was moving now and the near immediate cooldown on her face from the protection was wonderful as they went towards the pathways. She had a few thoughts for getting a young one but they could easily handle an adult she was sure. There were harder things to fight in the galaxy after all.

Corvus followed her Padawan's lead. She'd fight a Sith once whilst wearing a space-suit - but still found the feeling uncomfortable. But - like anything - practice would improve matters. So she suited up fully and followed Elphaba as they sought themselves a Fireworm.

Moving with her master, she could feel it or a lack of it... hard to say as Elphaba didn't feel anything. Her master seemed bored with the situation and her which wasn't good or helpful. She was moving and turned back looking at her master as she spoke. "If you want master we could just go back to the ship. You don't seem to be enthused about being out here."
