- Waterproof Casing - The lightsabers are outfitted with two crystals that allows them to activate underwater and avoid shorting out.
- Crude Phobium Emitter - Specially designed lightsaber emitters.
- Lignan Crystal - The core of the weapons and white in color.
- Synthetic Crystal - Second crystals and also white in color.
- Force Imbued - Channels the wield energies of the Force. An amalgam of pure Force energy where the wielder fights for control.
- Non-Dimetrous Circuit - Not susceptible to cortosis shorting them out.
- Force-activated: Lightsabers can only be activated using the Force.
- Locking Activator: Locks the sabers on so it doesn't deactivate when thrown.
- Pressure Grip: Lightsabers automatically disable when not being held.
- Bifurcating cyclical-ignition pulse: This lightsaber can function underwater.
- Resilient Materials: The materials used in constructing this weapon are all very resilient and light, allowing it to take several hits before breaking, even against a lightsaber or blaster fire.
- Lignan Crystal: The core of the weapons which produced stronger lightsaber blades that burned hotter and longer, enhancing Dark Side powers of its wielder.
- Synthetic Crystal: This crystal generates slightly stronger lightsaber blades than is normal.
- Dexterous Design: Enhanced maneuverability and precision, ideal for duelists.
- EMP: The weapon is susceptible to ion and electric based attacks that could short it out temporarily depending on the strength of said attack.
- Force Embued: For anyone not a Shadow of dark and light or even having never wielded this specific blade before, it will prove very difficult to learn and use effectively in combat.
- Complex Design: This weapon was created for a specific style of combat; Jin's samurai combination of Forms IV & V. Anyone not familiar with his style or with insufficient skill would find the lightsabers uneasy to wield.
- Force Activated: Due to their design, both lightsabers require use of the Force to activate. Anyone not Force sensitive or if located within Force nullification zones would not be able to wield them.
Jin Kimura's dual sabers look and are incredible—sleek, practical, and very in tune with his samurai-Jedi hybrid style. The tsuka-maki inspired grip, the katana-style emitter guards, and the minimalist, steel aesthetic all scream "space ronin." The sabers are named White Fang and Whisper Fang, simple, cold, lethal—mirrors his sabers color and predatory grace. Together, they're the howl and whisper of battle.
Notable Features Recap:- Dual Crystals: Lignan + Synthetic means these blades are stronger, burn hotter, and synergize with Force energy—especially powerful in the hands of someone balancing both Light and Dark sides.
- Force-Activated & Locking Mechanisms: These make them secure for Jin's acrobatic/fluid fighting style, and perfect for Form IV (Ataru) + Form V (Shien/Djem So) combos.
- Underwater Capabilities: Perfect for diverse mission environments—like aquatic planets or Kijimi's colder regions with harsh weather.
- Pressure Grip & Locking Activator: Great for tactical throwing, traps, or surprise attacks—turns his lightsaber into a real battlefield tool.
- Force Imbued: Makes it his—no one else can pick them up and just start using them easily. That mystical "Ghost blades" touch.
- Dexterous Design: The shorter off-hand blade gives perfect dual-wield balance—like a wakizashi or shoto in kenjutsu.
- Resilient + Lightweight: Allows for swift movements, feints, and high-speed flurries—perfect for a Shadow who hits hard, fast, and then vanishes.
- Lignan Crystal: A subtle nod to Jin's inner darkness—adds danger and mystery. Could also hint that he's not purely Light.
- EMP Vulnerability: Could make for tense moments if Jin's ever caught in ion storms or facing a tech-heavy foe.
- Force Null Zones: Areas like Mygeeto or Ysalamiri fields could turn his lightsabers into glorified sticks.
- Only For the Worthy: They're not plug-and-play weapons. In the wrong hands, they're dead weight—or worse, dangerous.
"Forged in Silence, Lit by Ghostlight" – The Story of Jin's Lightsabers
Location: Ruins of an ancient Sith vault, buried beneath the frozen catacombs of Kijimi.
Time: Shortly after Jin's induction into the New Jedi Order, during his trials as a Jedi Shadow.
Before he was a Jedi, Jin was a ghost. A gangster. A knife in the alleys of Kijimi. But the Force found him, pulled him from blood and frost, and gave him purpose. Still, he knew—his saber couldn't be made in a temple. It had to be born where he came from.
So he returned.
Beneath the shattered cathedrals of Kijimi's undercity, Jin sought a place known only in whispers: The Heart Below—a collapsed Sith vault drowned in ice, myth, and the rot of the Dark Side. It was there, according to fragments he'd uncovered, that a cache of corrupted Lignan crystals once powered a Sith war engine.
Not to harvest them.
To redeem them.
The vault didn't open. It tested.
Jin faced twisted echoes of his old self—visions of blood-soaked gang fights, choices that damned others for his survival, ghosts of brothers left behind. These weren't illusions. The Lignan crystals themselves fought back, projecting raw memories at him in exchange for connection.
He did not deny them.
He walked through them.
Through sorrow, guilt, pain—and choice. Jin refused to destroy the darkness. He balanced it. He didn't take the crystal; he earned its trust. In that moment, the Lignan began to glow—not red, but white-hot, a fire not of rage, but of clarity.
The second crystal—a synthetic white shard—he forged himself later in deep meditation, under the guidance of a blind Verpine kyber shaper named Master Venn. They told him, "Only those who understand both precision and passion can shape a crystal that burns truer than nature itself."
Jin passed that test in silence.
And so, two white blades were born.
Rather than build in a temple forge, Jin constructed the sabers in the wreckage of an old YT-2400 freighter—his old hideout, now reclaimed. He hand-wrapped the hilts with black silk salvaged from a Kijimi shrine banner, the diamonds etched in the tsuka-maki pattern representing his fallen friends and former gang.
- The golden menuki (ornament) on the long saber was a crest belonging to his old gang, the Sabi Knives—a mark he refused to forget.
- The shorter saber was built afterward, realizing he needed adaptability, he designed it not as a backup—but as an echo, a blade for moments of truth.
- The Force-imbued nature was an accident—or a sign. When ignited together for the first time, the sabers didn't hum... they sang. The Force had bound itself into the weapons, wild and unpredictable. A reflection of him.
Only Jin can wield them. And even then—some days, they burn against him, like the Force itself is reminding him: "Balance is not a destination. It is a battle."
