Whos the Elder now...

She was more than ready to offer im a weapon as her hand took the metal rod no more than a foot long from the back of her waist and held it out to him. It would otherwise look like a baton and it was very clear that it was no lightsaber, but there still remained to buttons, one that was currently depressed and one that wasn't. She would wait for him to take it before starting to walk off, a second item she had grabbed from her bag now in her hand as she sized up the item. It was clear it was a saber, one with a bit more grip area than was normal for a single bladed saber and it was more than clear that it was only a single bladed saber. Further there was a circular crossguard at the point where the blade would begin and the hilt would end.

It was a strange design for sure, and a foreign one for those that knew her as the user of two dual phrik sabers that she could connect together and use as one dual bladed saber. This was like seeing an entirely different person right down to een the weapon that she carried as she walked.

"Good, because we aren't far and if we want to get there and then get back before nightfall we better hurry. Otherwise that Fiancee of yours might wonder why you were out at night with a young woman who is much more so than you are..." She grinned, a bit of her returning with the memory of his question concerning Vulpesen out of her mind. She seemed like when he might have first met her and before she had become much calmer and settled later in her life. Part of it might have been the new body, and part of it might have been that she was no longer that same person.

Rylan eagerly took the weapon and gave it a good look-over, noting the buttons that would turn it into a fighting staff. Nodding in approval, he depressed one of the buttons, fully collapsing it and kept it close. He'd used staffs (staves?) before a few times, once even wielding an amphistaff. He shuddered at the memory. Those things were weird and creepy, as was pretty much everything created by the Vong. Also noticing the weapon Alex had chosen for herself, he cocked his eyebrow slightly. The last time he'd seen her fight, she had in fact used twin phrik lightsabers. It was much unlike her style to use a single, two-handed blade... Perhaps it was a question for another time. After all, was it really too outlandish? He had rejected the use of lightsabers completely. Perhaps both friends had undergone drastic changes since their last meeting.

At her crack, he couldn't help but to smile. "I'm sure she wouldn't mind", he retorted simply. In any case, he doubted she would recognize him, as he'd already encountered a few people from his past who didn't know who he was at first, Alexandra included. In hindsight, she did seem to have lost some of her age, and it wasn't just due to her new body. She was more relaxed, somehow... Rylan solemnly wished he could have that. He was still battling his demons, and that was pretty hard when they knew him so well. Nodding to indicate he was ready, he twirled his collapsed staff a couple of times. "Well then, let's get going."

She grinned as her body stretched for a few seconds before she started pushing off the ground with her feet, speaking as she felt that tinge of... it wasn't jealousy, not exactly. No it was close but it held no ill will. "And Rylan, did you forget about the little problem i have with someone's emotions. Try to keep them under control like the Jedi i used to know? Can't have you turning into a Dark Jedi or a Rogue, like myself now can we. Already got enough of those in this universe." Her smile flashed back at him as she tried to spark a bit of cheer and happiness back into the man that she called friend. It was an impulse, both the words and the action as she turned the saber back down before latching it to her belt. She would walk beside him, relaxed and looking in the direction of the cave she had heard about.

She walked without much more words though, her hands hidden in her pockets as she walked beside the man. The new black hair remained tied back to keep out of her face ad her eyes seemed to have an entirely different life to them than the woman who Rylan had known a while ago. The caring yet stern silver eyes, the ones that looked on most with the same calmness to them now held a life that shook with yearning for adventure, a new life to them that asked to see things she hadn't been able to see before. At this age before she had been a slave to the sith masters more or less, she had been trapped before that in a hole, and she had never gotten to experience life as a young adult without pain or training, or worry. Sure there were still slivers, but now reunited with her other half, and in a new body, she had a new spark inside her that hadn't been there before.

At her words, Rylan gave Alex a little half smile that may have looked like a grimace. She had no idea what he had been through since their last meeting. If anything, his thoughts were warranted. However, he would try his best to keep them under control for the moment. Besides, at this point, he figured he already was somewhere close to a dark Jedi, if anything. He certainly wasn't the person with the ever-bright personality he used to be. Nowadays, he was often more prone to solve things by intigating situations, instead of disarming them.

Rylan kept having to remind himself just how odd the situation was. Alex was a completely different person, as far as her body and mind were concerned. She seemed much more lively, and pumped full of energy. While himself on the other hand, he was different as well, except it was mainly his view on the world and himself. As he followed her, he absentmindedly twirled the small stump in his hands, taking care to avoid the buttons for the moment. Continuing on, he followed her into the cave, keeping a watchful eye on their surroundings.

"You know Rylan, you are quite different from how I remember you." She looked towards a small plateau like-cliff that hung over the crack that was the cave, her smile growing while she walked and looked over her shoulder at him. "Far from the kid that I used to know... I wonder if you turned into an old man while i was hiding on Alderaan?" She let her eyes rest on him as a bit of the old her returned, her eyes staring at him with a calm yet inquisitive feeling to them. It was clear she was curious about what he had done in the past years, but even more so what he had experienced in those years. Last she had seen him was when she had sneaked into a medical ward to find and help him, and ever since then there had been nothing more to come from her when it came to approaching her old friend.

She would wait for him to answer her before she spoke again, her hands helping her push her body into the cavern that was hidden from common sight. She was careful about where she stepped and more so to make sure that nothing was inside. The Planet had two main pests, and it would be very bad if a Kath Hound had found its way into this cavern before her. Granted there was the benefit that the cavern closed off and looked as undisturbed as ever. No one had been here in many many years, she wondered what they would find inside because of that fact.
