"Too close... Are you okay?"

His only worry was her, the light of his life, the one that was capable of bringing the light out of his heart when the world seemed to come down on them and the only possible outcome was complete darkness. Lyra, only Lyra. Their close call with death meant they were given a second opportunity to live fully, to do the things they always wanted to do.

"Everything is alright, Ly. I promise you." His frozen hands cupped her soft cheeks, candle-lit eyes staring straight into hers as he tried to give her some relief. "We can't stay under this bridge for too long. They'll find us, come on."

Their embrace was warm like a sweet summer's night in Naboo by the lake, an all too familiar memory they both liked to remember after seeing a holoflick a long time ago. Two orphans escaping the grip of the underworld and going through a plethora of hardships that proved too tough to overcome but at the end they were able to survive.

A very familiar story.

Pulling Lyra by holding hands, Kaidan made sure they both stayed under the shadows as they travelled under the rainy night of Ethos City. In the horizon, the neon-lit billboards illuminated the city like no other place could. Was this the end for Lithios? Had there been a coup, maybe?

They were not going to be there anymore, Kaidan said. It won't matter at all. Just them...

"I'm fine," she whispered as she continued to press her face against his shoulder. How stressful it was. She almost saw him die, right in front of her. What would she do without him? If there was anything in this galaxy she could not stand to lose... It was him.

She stepped back and looked up towards his eyes as she gave a weak smile. What were they to do? What could they do? The city had apparently gone mad. And they had no real way out, at least not yet. Unless they could find some trick under their sleeves, it could be some time... Some time they might not have.

His cold hands held her cheeks as her eyes got lost in his. "I love you, Kai," she'd whisper. "I.... Where can we go?" She asked cautiously. No, they couldn't stay here. He was right about that. But where else could they go? Their little home was likely raided, ruined, and someone may be waiting for their return.

Life in the city wasn't easy, and it just got a lot more complicated.

Wherever Kaidan Sroka went, though, the young woman would follow. She was destined to be by his side. Through the worst and the best of times. And maybe... Maybe they could be like those orphans in that holoflick. If they could only escape the hell they lived in.

"There's a guy in the entertainment district that owes me a favor. He might be our best chance."

The rain was unforgiving that night, thunders lit up the already ignited skyline of Ethos City. Echoes of music blasted throughout the city as well as some distant gunfire in the background. The city had gone mad over androids and anything that had to do with them, some sort of law had been implemented by the corporacy dressed as democracy but for what reason?

Genocide. Blood money. The interest of the rich above all else?

Too many to even figure out because after all this city was worse than Nar Shaddaa and Coruscant combined.

"I love you, Ly. No matter what happens, we'll always be together." His hand squeezed hers once more as they traversed through the different alleyways that would take them directly downtown. "If the situation in the city is worse we'll have to find a way to blend in. I can't do this alone."

Somehow and amidst all the chaos Kaidan still hadn't realized he was bleeding blue and not red. Underneath the layers of whatever was within him was the core of an android, blue liquids putting to work what seemed to be a perfect replica of a human being.

To give him a sort of final appearance was a layer under his skin that resembled a human's circulatory system that made him bleed red.

"If we get separated head to Kyr's Bar in the southern side of the Entertainment District. Tell him I sent you. I'll find my way to you if anything happens."
