Wrong Place, Wrong Time [Open to All]

Thane curtly nods to the Sith's wishes but his eyes remain focused on where his blaster bolts had landed. The target - a girl - stands up evidently in pain but to the mercenary's surprise shows foolish determination to 'tango'.

Trained and indoctrinated in the ways of a soldier, hardened by the morals he abandoned, the former Republic SpecForce cocks the carbine once more and aims at the bleeding target cause that's what she was - a target. Nothing more, nothing less.

The pull of the trigger rests on his new employer's commands.

He stopped and eyed the girl.

Young thing too.

Spirit willing, but the flesh was keeping her off-balance with the couple of blaster shots unleashed by Thane. That didn't mean she wouldn't fight if pushed though and that made him wonder. What to do next.... what was the most beneficial course of action here?

Logic dictated leaving her to her own devices- she wasn't a threat and they had business to handle.

That didn't mean Jai could resist prodding her a bit though. "Turn your eyes away, turn your back against those dying, they aren't your people anyway." Jairus said with a wave of his hand. Almost as if he was waving the issue away completely. "You don't need to die just to extend their lives for a few minutes." Then a glance towards Thane. "She is a smart girl, I think we can let her go. Show me the dig site. If anyone stands in our way you shoot them."

That was it.

Now to see if she took the bait.

It was almost as if he wasn’t aware of what she was doing. Maybe Amea’s sister would have stayed and done the right thing, but Amea was nothing if not a realist. The fact that she was shot made any kind of confrontation outright unrealistic and outright stupid. No, Amea was her father’s daughter and there was something she had once told her. You can die doing the right thing here and now, or you can die at a later point when you know who your enemy truly was. This was a case of the latter, and even then it didn’t have to be.

Amea knew from the start who her enemy was, but it seems like the variables were changing. She came for one man, not two dozens over some kind of digsite or whatever. She took one careful step back and away from the two men. She grasped at her wound, coughed up the blood and spat it on the ground and continued her trek backwards.

“I am not an idiot, and I know when I am facing certain defeat.” She coughed again. “I am going to leave, and you are going to let me.”

She took another few steps back into the foliage in the background.

“I trust you to keep your end of that deal.”
