Intent: Create an advanced powered assault armour to be used by the Core Imperial Confederation the Troops wearing the armour are colloquially known as "Dark Troopers" due to the factory black paint of their armour and thus are the Core Imperial Confederation's spiritual successor to those original Dark Troopers used by Sheev Palpatine's Galactic Empire. Additionally, to create a reward for Core Imperial Confederation members for their hard-work by providing some of their characters with the use of a particularly shiny toy.

- Air Conditioning System: Equipped with an Air Conditioning System, the X-02 Series Powered Combat Armour controls its' internal temperature even within extreme ambient temperatures. Typically the Climate Control keeps internal temperature between eighteen to twenty-two degrees Celsius for peak thermal efficiency and comfort although the internal temperature can be adjusted as necessary by the user through their neural interface device or by verbally instructing the onboard Artificial Intelligence to adjust the value for climate control.
- Automatic Gyrostabilisation: Every system within the X-02 Series of Powered Combat Armour is equipped with an Automatic Gyrostabilisation System which aids in the wearer maintaining optimal balance when lifting heavy loads held away from the body such as manipulating heavy weaponry or shifting large amounts of debris. In addition, the Automatic Gyrostabilisation system makes it difficult for them to be tripped or otherwise fall over without it being the wearer's intention. Automatic Gyrostabilisers can be set to a fixed axis and in combination with the Servo-Motors being locked can keep an occupant upright when unconscious for example when falling asleep. Making it useful for keeping the illusion of fixed defensive positions being manned when a unit is under-strength.
- Flex-Armour Bodysuit: Constructed from an Impervium-Ceramic Weave all wearers of the X-02 Series Powered Combat Armour are required to wear a Flex-Armour Bodysuit for effective integration with the Exoskeleton as it features several wireless contact points to help communicate the wearer's desired movements into tangible locomotion firstly, and second the Bodysuit serves to protect the wearer's body and organs from the internal wiring and moving mechanical parts. The Bodysuit is significantly heavy and does confer onto the wearer protection from being electrocuted or burned as it is constructed from insulative materials with a Duravlex coating and can successfully prevent penetration from intermediate calibre high-velocity slugthrowers. The Bodysuit Contains an Environmental Control System that helps regulate the wearer's body temperature at peak thermal comfort and has a thermal gel-layer sandwiched into its' construction to absorb any excessive kinetic energy not successfully dispersed by the Outer Shell.
- Integrated Communication Helmet: The Powered Combat Helmet of the X-02 is equipped with cutting edge technology including a fully-functioning helmet-mounted display created by holographic diodes placed throughout its' interior. The Powered Combat Helmet's eye lenses are constructed from glasteel which is harder than transparisteel and is incredibly resistant to penetration by both Directed Energy Weapons and Ballistic Weapons, most personnel familiar with its' testing data regard penetration of its' eye lenses as impossible. The Helmet features a redundant digital comlink antennae within a EMP hardened compartment to ensure that communication isn't disrupted.
- Macromotion Monitor: X-02 Powered Combat Armour is equipped with a Photonic Macromotion Monitor which tracks the movement and behaviour of Photons in an omnidirectional radius of twenty-five meters feeds information to the onboard artificial intelligence which shifts through the data with frightening speed and allows the Synthetic Intelligence or Organic pilot to track organic and inorganic contacts of interests. Generally speaking a contact moving at a lower speed than a Human walking at a brisk pace will usually not be flagged by the A.I as suspicious and subsequently displayed on the helmet-mounted display.
- Motion-Assist Servo Motors: Throughout the X-02 Powered Combat Armour is a series of Electrically-Powered Motion-Assisting Servomotors that give the Exoskeleton its' load-bearing qualities and provide the Powered Combat Armour with its' considerable lifting power which is approximately three times its' own weight, permitting the wearer to lift not only themselves while interred within the armour but also potentially another soldier wearing the same Powered Combat Armour or significantly heavy weapons that might be designed specifically for use by Troops equipped with the Armour.
- Neural Interface Device: Each suit of Powered Combat Armour is equipped with a wireless neural interface device which communicates with the neural lace implanted into the Pilot's nervous system. The Neural Interface Device provides unparalleled control over the Powered Exoskeleton to the Pilot and is crucial for an organic to operate the Powered Combat Armour, it additionally permits a high amount of dexterity and agility transferring the wearer's thoughts into action eliminating any input lag, on the downside this opens up the user to the potential of Psychosomatic injuries.
- Outer Shell: The X-02A1 Powered Combat Armour's Outer Shell is constructed primarily from a lightweight metal laminate reinforced at key stress areas with the outer layer consisting of Duranium, the middle an inert rubber layer with that inner layer of the laminate being constructed from Impervium. The Outer shell is coated with Duravlex and Ultrachrome, the latter being the outermost part of the Shell before paint is applied and is used to conduct through electric current from the onboard Individual Field Disruptor and Electric Armour.
- Waste Recycling System: For prolonged survival in hostile environments the X-02 Powered Combat Armour is equipped with an organic waste recycling system which connects to the wearer via a catheter inserted into the urethra which transfers any excreted urine into an on-board recycling system which purifies secreted waste into pure drinking water for consumption through a drinking straw located within the helmet, this permits a wearer to maintain a hermetic seal within a contaminated environment but the ability to re-hydrate. In addition, the four litre reservoirs can be filled with clean drinking water prior to deployment so as to store water rations more effectively.
- X-02 Series Frame: Every single variant of the X-02 Powered Combat Armour is built and plasma welded upon a common Impervium Frame which facilitates the modular repair and replacement of damaged armour panels in the field with access to workshop tools and materials. It additionally permits customers of the Interstellar Manufacturing Corporation to provide their Troops with the most suitable variant for different situations. DESCRIPTION
The X-02 Series of Powered Combat Armour was developed in parallel by the Interstellar Manufacturing Corporation alongside the more expensive and exotic DARKSABRE program which was developed specifically for use by the surgically and chemically augmented supersoldiers of Project: AFTERLIFE and Project: REVENANT and thus cannot be used by unaugmented troops without risking serious injury or death. The X-02 Series Powered Combat Armour in contrast to Project: DARKSABRE was initiated with the express purpose of producing an electrically-operated exoskeleton that can be safely operated by regular pilots with minimal if any surgical or chemical alterations to a Human or Near-Human Physiology. The X-02 Series is produced in four different variants the main distinction between these three variants is their physical design and armour coverage being optimised for different environments with the X02A2 for example offers greater range of motion over the X02A1 which makes the former more ideal for engagements where flexibility is more important than protection. The X02A3 however was an attempt to combine range of motion with protection without compromising severely on either and better protected some of the armour's exposed life support, respirator and closed-circuit rebreather system wiring as seen on the X02A1 and X02A2. The Protective Suite, Communications Hardware and miscellaneous technology constructed into the X-02 Powered Combat Armour is sophisticated and cutting-edge combining quality manufacturing and design brought in through Sephi expertise with the production power of the Interstellar Manufacturing Corporation to radically change the landscape of the modern battlefield.
As a Powered Exoskeleton the X-02 Series of Powered Combat Armour relies upon an electrically-powered frame constructed from Impervium to provide locomotion. The X-02 Frame is a modular platform that supports the potential to create several different variants of the Powered Combat Armour platform without necessary having to design an entirely new exoskeleton. The Exoskeleton is powered by an incredibly powerful albeit small cylinder-shaped micro-sized Hydrogen-Tritium nuclear fusion battery that is inserted into the Powered Combat Armour through a circular-shaped panel which can be open and closed with tools exposing the battery's port. The Frame itself is constructed with incredibly tight tolerances down to a pico-sized scale and will create a separate hermetic atmosphere for the wearer after the frame has had every piece of Metal Armour welded onto its' skeleton. The Frame when powered with a functioning battery produces approximately three times the lifting power of the entire system's mass allowing a wearer to easily manipulate tools, weapons, debris and machinery that would otherwise prove extremely difficult to outright impossible. Because of its' sheer lifting power a Squad of Troops wearing the X-02 Powered Combat Armour can perform light-skin vehicle recovery duties which is an additional boon to its' already impressive capability. The Power Supply Unit and Battery are vulnerable to disruption from Ion Weapons such as Ion Blasters and Ion Cannons, in an event where the system absorbs excessive Ion Energy the circuit breakers located through the Frame can trip temporarily disabling the Exoskeleton and trapping its' wearer inside and in rare cases the battery's power supply unit can be fried permanently disabling the Exoskeleton until the Power Supply Unit can be replaced, the Power Supply Unit can only be accessed after the Exoskeleton's battery has been removed.
The Armour on the X-02 Series Powered Combat Armour is constructed from a laminate consisting of Impervium, Rubber and Duranium this laminate combination serves as Non-Explosive Reactive Armour dramatically increasing its' effectiveness in protecting from High-Explosive Anti-Tank Shaped Charges, Kinetic Penetrators and explosively-formed penetrators. The Thickness of the Armour effectively increases by three to four-hundred percent when struck with munitions of these types and this increased effective thickness is caused by the sandwiched Rubber between the Duranium and Impervium layers bulging and deforming along the Projectile's path. The Material Properties of the Armour make it highly resistant to both kinetic and most common directed energy weapons, under testing conditions it took kinetic projectiles of 1,580 Grain measuring at 20x102mm travelling at 1,800 meters per second to reliably penetrate the Outer Duranium-Rubber-Impervium Shell, thus it is incredibly difficult to practically impossible to penetrate the shell at all with handheld Infantry Weapons typically requiring the employment of cannon-caliber plasma-accelerated mass-driver weapons. In terms of Energy Weapon resistance the Outer Shell can withstand several shots from plasma-based blasters without being compromised, that cannot be said for more esoteric and powerful energy weapons that rely on particle beams, solarised plasma, solarised ionisation or masers which are drastically more effective against the X-02 Series Powered Combat Armour by virtue of their behaviour and function. One of the more advanced protective technologies incorporated into the Armour is "Electric Armour" where an electric charge can be generated and conducted through the outer shell upon the impact of a shaped-charge or kinetic penetrator projectile and can reliably defeat these types of munitions as the electricity is stored in a reservoir and discharged upon impact vaporizing the warhead or converting it into a cloud of super-heated plasma which has the potential to inflict significantly less damage than an anti-tank projectile.
Though the Armour is the mainline X-02 Powered Combat Armour protective suite it certainly isn't the first or most resilient. Providing impressive resistance against both kinetic and energy-based weapons is the Deflector Shield Generator which is constructed into the rear of cuirass nearby the Hydrogen-Tritium MicroFusion battery. The X-02's Deflector Shield Generator is sufficiently effective at full charge to absorb roughly thirty full-power high-velocity slugthrower projectiles giving the shield high resilience to kinetic and ballistic weapons which simply lack the energy to rapidly deplete the shield's power, in contrast directed energy weapons are incredibly more effective against the Shield, in excess of three-hundred percent more effective completely draining the shield in seven to nine shots from common blaster rifles such as those powered by Ionized Gas like Tibanna, when triggered the deflector shield visibly envelopes the armour's surface in silvery-white bands like a spider's web. The Shield does possess exploitable flaws in its' design, in an attempt to prevent incidental or accidental activation when performing mundane daily activities the shield itself does not interdict any projectile accelerating towards it under a velocity of thirty meters per second, this open it up to being vulnerable towards melee attacks particularly with electro-plasma weapons and lightsabres both of which bypass the deflector shield regardless of how quickly they are travelling by virtue of their powerful magnetic field permitting them to pass through it entirely. The Deflector Shield recharges when partially or entirely depleted, it begins cycling approximately five seconds after taking the last damage that would have usually triggered the Deflector Shield Generator and takes approximately four seconds to fully recharge from being entirely depleted creating a not insignificant combat window in close-quarters where the armour itself and wearer are vulnerable. Some weapons are sufficiently powerful or behave in such a way to brute force their way through the Deflector Shield entirely, this includes Disruptor-based weapons where pistols can deplete the deflector shield generator in a single shot while one from a rifle can at best cause grievous injuries to the wearer and at worst utterly disintegrate themselves and the armour.
Clearances and Tolerances within the Powered Combat Armour are quite tight and each model comes with a TYI-Flex Armour bodysuit in order to protect the wearer from any moving parts within the Exoskeleton's frame. For a soldier or occupant to embark into the Exoskeleton they must first open it at the rear which is achieved in one of two ways, prior to start-up the pilot must enter manually turning a pressure-release valve wheel on the armour's lower-back area which permits the exoskeleton's frame to open at the rear in nine different points along the crucial joints permitting entry, at which point the user can simply climb up into the armour at which point the frame itself will close shut around them. When the armour and its' artificial intelligence is online the pilot can simply instruct the synthetic intelligence to open and close at will through the neural interface device. Providing the last tier of protection and protecting the wearer from any moving internal exoskeleton parts, the TYI Flex-Armour Bodysuit is constructed with a Durasteel weave that makes it resistant to low-velocity slugthrower projectiles and treated with a Duravlex coating so that it can aid in the dispersal of thermal energy that would accompany directed energy weapons in an attempt to reduce the severity of any injury resulting from a directed energy attack such as with plasma-based blasters.
The exoskeleton is equipped with the Interstellar Manufacturing Corporation's proprietary neural interface device technology which permits its' pilots' nervous system to connect directly with the Exoskeleton creating a new synthesis between the organic and inorganic creating a frightening harmony of Man and Machine, it results in staggeringly precise movements on the part of the armour's wearer and response to a stimulus that is nearly without parallel on the modern battlefield. A significant drawback of the IMC's neural interface device technology is that it opens up the user to Psychosomatic injuries meaning in short that damage to the armour's panelling can result in painful even debilitating inflammation and bruising along sensory nerve pathways. X-02 Series Powered Exoskeletons are designed to be worn for extended periods of time and include a Human Waste Recycling system for converting the wearer's urine into clean drinking water through the catheter that can be inserted through the bodysuit and the armour panelling is sufficiently thick that when combined with the hermetic seal the Exoskeleton protects its' wearer completely from chemical and biological contaminants in the environment and reduces the Ionizing Power of Gamma Radiation transferred onto the wearer ranging between seventy-five to ninety-nine point nine percent, depending on the energy of charged particles coming into contact with the armour in question. To prevent unconscious wearers from being knocked over the exoskeleton contains a gyro stabilisation system and its' servo-motors can be locked at the joints which can permit a wearer to sleep within the exoskeleton itself remains upright. In the event the pilot is unconscious or disembarked from the Powered Combat Armour the Artificial Intelligence can engage in combat using its' own programming, while not as effective as the full synthesis achieved through organic and machine consciousnesses working in tandem the artificial construct still presents a formidable danger.
Situational awareness for the X-02 Powered Combat Armour platform is considerable and possesses a holographic helmet-mounted display featuring retinal tracking for input in addition to the neural interface device in the event that one of the two input systems for the Integrated Communications Helmets' display fails. The Helmet-Mounted display's firmware is completely configurable to increase the ease of use and quick assessment of pertinent data, by default it includes: Gas canister/magazine capacity and/order battery charge displayed in the top-right hand corner of display along with a fireframe model of the weapon presently held in hands taken from a sensor scan, a magnetic compass' bearing which indicates towards magnetic north, beneath the magnetic compass bearing read-out is a horizontal turquoise coloured shield bar which fills and depletes according to the X-02 Powered Combat Armour's shield charge, the explosives the user is carrying and number per weapons is displayed in the top-left corner while the Macromotion Monitor's circular omnidirectional read-out by default sits in the bottom left corner. Combat Effectiveness and operator health was at the forefront of the developmental requirements for the Interstellar Manufacturing Corporation and the Powered Combat Armour features an integrated medpac system permitting the Artificial Intelligence to introduce medication such as pain-killers and adrenaline into the operator's body through an auto-injector system through ports in the pilot's bodysuit. To prevent a catastrophic fire from injuring the operator or damaging internal systems the armour is equipped with a Halon-1301 Gaseous Fire Suppression System, which while threatening to potentially suffocate or asphyxiate the pilot is highly effective at extinguishing fires and the release of fire suppression gases can be carefully controlled and delivered in areas which encourage the Power Armour pilot's survivor.
The New Imperial Order acquired several examples of the Powered Combat Armour through the black market and old Imperial Confederated Systems stockpiles and invited Apex Manufacturing to participate in an industry tender for the production of a powered combat armour system sometime in the 860s ABY. Apex Manufacturing submitted all models of the X-02 lineup for consideration and after thorough controlled and field trials, the series was selected as a successful tender and the New Imperial Military ordered several million suits from Apex Manufacturing. With Apex Manufacturing continuing to provide support for their customer.

- Arc Field Generator: The X-02A2ARC Powered Combat Armour is a Variant of the X-02A2 and possesses a sophisticated Arc Field Generator powerful enough to emit a programmable Arc Field in a maximum radius of fifteen meters around the wearer. The Variant is particularly valuable and devastating in close quarters fighting and urban terrain where it can be used to apply rapid domination tactics through swiftly breaching hostile lines, the armour's Arc Field Generator uses the Power Armour's on-board power supply to generate a field which is sufficiently potent to reduce armoured infantry to dust caught within this field. The Arc Field Generator can be programmed to exclusively target certain materials including but not limited to: Beskar, Durasteel and Titanium. The only materials excluded from what the Generator can target are the same ones used to construct the Powered Armour to prevent accidents.
- Artificial Intelligence: Within the Chassis is an Artificial Intelligence core that contains an A.I software developed explicitly by the Interstellar Manufacturing Corporation for use within its' Powered Exoskeleton Models and certain types of Walkers. The Artificial Intelligence is fully capable of autonomously operating the Powered Combat Armour without a pilot being interred although it is widely considered a less effective platform without its' paired operator.
- Comprehensive Sensor Suite: Sensor hardware within the X-02 Powered Combat Armour is comprehensive and consumes a swathe of data from a variety of different sources giving the Artificial Intelligence and the Battlesuit's operator unparalleled situational awareness. For example the X-02 Powered Combat Armour can detect and identify subtle and minuscule sources of electromagnetic radiation, stirrings of life such as the low frequency painfully low volume and pitch of a complex vertebrate's heartbeat and distinguish between electromagnetic spectrum bandwidths such as emissions created by lasers and comlinks.
- Deflector Shield Generator: X-02 Powered Combat Armour is equipped with a Deflector Shield Generator that interdicts any projectile accelerating towards the Powered Combat Armour at a velocity equal or greater to thirty meters per second. The Deflector Shield includes both Particle and Ray Shields and thus it will interdict, absorb and destroy projectiles that are kinetic or directed energy in nature, it is heavily resistant to chemical-accelerated projectiles and as an example can withstand approximately thirty full-power high-velocity rifle cartridges prior to collapsing under the load. The amount of full-power shots required from the likes of a blaster rifle generally required to collapse the Deflector Shield ranges from approximately seven to nine shots, however there are several exploitable flaws and vulnerabilities in the Deflector Shield Generator's design and function.
- Electro-magnetic pulse hardened: Despite its' vulnerability to Ion Weapons the Powered Combat Armour is hardened against the effects of short-burst high-energy electromagnetic pulses emitted from certain weapons such as Nuclear Warheads and some types of Grenade usually capable of outright disabling droids. For example the X-02 Powered Combat Armour can successfully resist the effects of Electro-magnetic pulse grenades under testing conditions but struggles to do the same for Ion Grenades despite their ostensibly similar function and behavior. Although, both are capable of draining its' deflector shield generator of charge.
- Individual Field Disruptor: Equipped with an Individual Field Disruptor wearers of the X-02 Powered Combat Armour can successfully penetrate Deflector Shields by physically moving through them without issue, this includes Ray Shields commonly used to protect vital sections aboard Starships and within secure facilities to control the flow of personnel making the Powered Combat Armour ideal and extremely useful when it comes to boarding action. The Individual Field Disruptor can also inflict anything between mild to lethal electric burn injuries through extended contact with its' outer shell sufficient to neutralise or deter combatants attempting to enter into melee combat with the wearer. Thanks to the Individual Field Disruptor, wearers of the X-02 Powered Combat Armour can additionally penetrate Deflector Shields used to protect celestial bodies such as planets.
- Innovative Armour: The laminated non-explosive electric reactive armour of the X-02-Series Powered Combat Armour is proprietary IMC technology that can effectively resist not just directed energy and kinetic weapons but kinetic energy penetrator, explosively formed penetrators and high-explosive anti-tank projectiles. The Armour is essentially a sandwich with a Duravlex veneer protected by principles of electric reactivity, this electric current closes a circuit when a shaped charged or kinetic penetrator breaches the outer armour shell a capacitor discharges its' stored electricity and can utterly vaporize the projectile or alternatively turn it into a plasma. In the event the electric protection fails even without it the armour is still laminated, reactive with non-explosive properties. When struck by a shaped charge's metal jet, some of the impact energy is dissipated into the inert rubber liner layer, and the resulting high pressure causes a localized bending or bulging of the Duranium and Impervium plates in the area of the impact. As the plates bulge, the point of jet impact shifts with the plate bulging, increasing the effective thickness of the armour by approximately 300%.
- Lifting Power: As an electrically-powered exoskeleton the X-02 Powered Combat Armour endows its' wearer with dramatically increased strength this permits an equipped soldier to effectively utilize extremely heavy weaponry that would otherwise be impossible to use or displace, wearers could use a heavy weapon such as a Z-6 Rotary Blaster Cannon as readily as a trained soldier wields a lightweight rifle. The Lifting Power of the X-02 Powered Combat Armour also makes its' wearer an incredibly dangerous combatant in hand-to-hand fighting and not even the formidable Wookie or Houk could hope to physically overpower an X-02's wearer. In-fact, some test pilots claim that the X-02 is sufficiently strong enough to decapitate Wookies or Houk through the application of its' immense strength. Because it is an electrically-operated Exoskeleton the X-02 Powered Combat Armour has exploitable weaknesses and flaws in a combat situation as a result.
- Anti-Tank Mines: Hilariously while the armour offers excellent protection from anti-personnel mines due to its' construction the Powered Combat Armour is sufficient to trigger mines designed for Anti-Tank applications. Anti-Tank Mines are particularly dangerous for operators of the Armour as many of them contain shaped charges including tandem-warhead charges, it's possible for certain types of Anti-Tank Mines to punch through the Deflector Shield and Underlying Armour and inflict injuries upon a wearer. Thus, an opposition force facing troops equipped with X-02 Series Powered Combat Armour could use Anti-Tank weapons as an effective area denial weapon as the force exerted from Anti-Tank mines in some cases has been sufficient to deal extreme damage to the system's frame which mandates a return to factory for repairs.
- Circuit Breakers: X-02 Powered Combat Armour is hardened against short-burst high-energy electromagnetic waves, it achieves this hardening through a variety of complex technologies but most crucial above everything else is a series of circuit-breakers implemented into the Powered Exoskeleton. These circuit breakers prevent permanent damage to the Armour, although when the tolerance for the electrical components to excess current is reached the Circuit-breakers can trigger and temporarily shut-down the flow of power from the power supply unit through the exoskeleton leaving it without power and difficult to nigh impossible for its' wearer to manipulate rendering the system far more vulnerable.
- Deflector Shield Generator Flaws: The Deflector Shield Generator Technology used within the X-02 series of powered combat armour exhibits a few exploitable flaws in its' behaviour. It will only interdict projectiles accelerating towards the wearer at a velocity equal or greater to thirty meters per second, this opens an opportunity for melee weapons in close quarters to be effective against the armour as thrusts and swings with such weaponry will often come beneath this threshold and if that wasn't enough the magnetic fields generated by plasma blades seen in lightsabres and electro-plasma weapons drain the Deflector Shield immediately upon contact with the armour.
- Disruptor: Disruptor Blaster technology has a brutal devastating effect on the X-02 Series of Powered Combat Armour, although it often doesn't disintegrate its' wearers due to the sheer molecular weight and mass of the system Disruptors are capable of causing rapid cascading failure of the exoskeleton's electrically-powered systems such as the Exoskeleton itself and Deflector Shield Generator. Disruptors can additionally punch through the armour like a hot knife through butter unlike more common directed energy weapons with the potential to inflict grisly and frightening injuries upon the Powered Armour's occupant.
- Individual Field Disruptor Design Drawback: The Individual Field Disruptor equipped to the Armour which the wearer or onboard intelligence can use to successfully navigate deflector-shield based obstacles such as Ray Shield Walls and bulkheads also renders the Powered Combat Armour and its' wearer far more vulnerable to injury as it temporarily disables the Deflector Shield Generator for the duration that the Individual Field Disruptor is active.
- Ion Weapons: Ion Weapons are particularly effective against the XO1 Powered Combat Armour as an example a single shot from an Ion Pistol can potentially overload the armour's fully-charged Deflector Shield and a single-shot from a fully-powered Ion Rifle has the potential to trigger the circuit breakers built into the armour and disable the Exoskeleton leaving the wearer with a several hundred kilogram dead-weight on their body making it difficult to nigh impossible for the armour's occupant to articulate movement rendering them combat ineffective for the duration of the effect which usually lasts an average thirty seconds which is a sufficient amount of time for life or death in a close-quarters environment. In theory an opposing force could potentially "Kill" units equipped with the X-02 Powered Combat Armour without necessarily maiming or killing its' occupant, turning their own protective equipment into an upright coffin.
- Neural Link Required: The Power Armour Cannot be purely purchased en masse and operated entirely autonomously without any kind of organic input or connection, each single Artificial Intelligence must form an initial neural bond with a Pilot, whose orders they will obey alone until the time of that Pilot's death or said Pilot authorizing that their neural link should be wiped. Due to this requirement any individual wishing to use the X-02 Powered Combat Armour must have a Neural Interface Device surgically implanted at the base of their skull.
- MicroFusion Battery: Contained within the rear of the Power Armour's cuirass is a powerful MicroFusion Battery serving in the role of powerplant, this battery sits within a shielded compartment protected by the X-02's Chassis, however even though it is shielded the battery is far from invulnerable. A single well-placed shot to the Battery's housing panel can breach not only the panel but the shielded compartment exposing this Hydrogen-Tritium battery to damage. If damaged the MicroFusion Battery and its' power supply can be disabled rendering the armour a dead-weight at best and at worst the Battery's housing can be breached flooding the surrounding area with potentially lethal amounts of gamma radiation without treatment and even explode in a miniature thermonuclear explosion consuming the armour and its' occupant.
- Particle Beams: Due to the nature of the tightly-packed highly-energized projectiles fired from the likes of Particle Rifles used in more esoteric blasters, these weapons are fully capable of bypassing albeit not draining the Armour's Deflector Shield rendering the armour plating vulnerable to damage from the intense amounts of thermal energy generated by particle beam rifles making it significantly easier for an attacker to pierce the X-02's stubborn metallic hide when compared to a traditional directed energy weapon such as a Tibanna-Gas Fueled Blaster Rifle.
- Psychosomatic Injuries: One of the drawbacks about implementing the Interstellar Manufacturing Corporation's neural interface technology into the Powered Exoskeleton is that while it makes the armour extremely responsive and agile it opens up the wearer to the potential of psychosomatic injuries where non-penetrating damage to the armour panels can manifest on the wearer's body as sympathetic injuries such as bruises and cause painful inflammation which can inhibit the combat endurance of Troops issued with the armour requiring them to be issued with over-the-counter non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medication as appropriate for intense engagements.
- Sonics: Sonic-based weapons that create focused overpressure waves are capable of utterly bypassing the X-02's Deflector Shield Generator and because of the physical properties and behaviour of Sound Waves their effectiveness against the Exoskeleton isn't diminished by the thick armour covering and protecting the wearer inside, in-fact the overpressure waves easily propagate through the materials used to construct the armour and can inflict severe or crippling injuries to the user using a sufficiently powerful weapon without having to necessarily breach its' thick armour envelope.
- Tandem-Warhead Charges: Certain High-Explosive Anti-Tank Warheads that incorporate two explosive charges in their design are highly effective against the Powered Combat Armour's Protective Suite, if a Tandem Warhead charge strikes the armour plating even with its' electric-capacitor reservoir charged the initial explosive forces the full reservoir to discharge its' stored current permitting the second charge to impact the Non-Explosive Reactive Armour successfully with the potential to cripple the armour and maim, cripple or kill its' occupant.
