Ydrin and the Red-Eyed Wolf

Ydrin let out a slight chuckle at two things. The first was the adorable, in his mind, image of watching the half wolf half woman's eyes light up like a kid being given a present while her tail began to wave from side to side. The second was the almost innocent tone of her voice when she spoke of herself not being sure if he would like to eat meats raw. "I-I p-probably w-wouldn't, n-no."

Pushing himself to his feet, Ydrin arched him back, causing a loud crack to ring out around the clearing and for him to let out a small sigh of relief as the pressure he felt along his spine lessened. "H-how a-about y-you g-go g-get th-the f-food, a-and I-I g-go s-start a-a f-fire t-to c-cook m-my f-food o-over?"

As he had spoken, Ydrin's voice had gained confidence, although the stutter did not lessen, as he forced himself to supress his thoughts of Neshoba's beauty and to treat her like he would any noble's daughter he had meant at one of the numerous parties his parent's held in an attempt to boost their political standing. Basically, he was forcing himself to speak with the confidence that all First Heirs were taught.

Neshoba could feel the confidence in Ydrin boosting slightly. That was nice. People were usually kind of nervous around her. She stood up, handing his jacket back to him. She then turned toward the trees closest to them and shifted into her Wolf Form. She became a blur of white as she took off into the forest.

Ydrin stood still for a few moments, jacket hanging from his right hand, as he watched the large shape of Neshoba's wolf form vanish into the trees as a white blur. He couldn't help but think that even as a wolf Neshoba was beautiful, albeit it was a different form of beauty that he admired.

Shaking himself out of his stupor, Ydrin turned to the tree as his back, heading back into the forest the way he had come, picking up on the trail he had left rather quickly. If he remembered right, and he probably was considering it wasn't that long ago, he had passed an area of the forest where numerous dead branches had fallen to the forest floor from their trees while he had been taking a walk a week ago. And, due to the warm and sunny days the area had been receiving recently coupled with the fact that the falling of the branches had opened the canopy up to the sky, Ydrin was sure that those branches would be completely dry by now, making them perfect fuel for a fire.

Emerging into the recently made clearing a few short minutes later and mentally thanking his Gods for giving him a sharp mind and clear memory, Ydrin picked his way across towards the largest branch he was sure he could carry, his every step being accompanied by the loud snaps as dead twigs broke under his weight. Grasping the large branch, he hoisted it onto his shoulders and began to make his way back to the lake, his progress slowed by the added weight of the dried wood.

It was a good ten minuets later when Ydrin returned to the lake, his muscles along his back screaming in relief as he dropped the branch to the ground. Sighing, he knelt down and began to snap off all the twigs that remained on the branch, placing them to the side to be used as kindling. After was done, Ydrin stood again and began snapping the branch into smaller pieces to be used as the fuel for the fire.

Note:
I though that I might as well write what he did while Nesh was gone. Sorry if this wasn't what you had in mind.
