Yipee, ki yi yah - or something like that

More of a guideline than and actual rule where had she heard that before, she knew. She heard it from Jon about pirates and their code.

They had watched a holo that night and the Captain said - First, your return to shore was not part of our negotiations nor our agreement so I must do nothing. And secondly, you must be a pirate for the pirate's code to apply and you're not. And thirdly, the code is more what you'd call "guidelines" than actual rules.

“I know all about those rules being more of a guideline.” She laughed out loud the memory was bitter sweet and not one she had thought on in sometime. Ever since hooking up with the Underground she had been able to forget the hurt and pain that haunted her.

At times when someone said something that touched a memory she didn’t always expect it would make her remember. And then she’d smile and let it pass, bringing her back to the here and now.

“Oh honey it’s all kinds of fun, and its fun we can make. We choose our missions, and our raids. You can also bow out if you want no one hold it against you

Rekha’s keen eyes watched his every move with his weapon of choice. She didn’t take much to snipers rifles she liked the blaster.

The little tickle that showed in his nose she could see him holding his breath, that’s right cupcake breath and squeeze. She looked

CRACK!

The bottle shattered, nice very nice she thought to herself trying to not let her thoughts betray her.

Oh he was smiling, “yeah yeah, you got the first one smarty pants, how good is your concentration Mal, hmmm?” She had a terrible thought looking at him there, in position for his next shot.

"Now, now, wait a minute darlin'. We were talkin' about one mission remember?" He said warmly without a trace of actually be put off by the comment. "Let's not get carried away and try and recruit me for your revolution. Keep in mind, we still need to determine how you plan to handle my fee for the first job. Maybe once we have hammered that deal out, we can talk about further...battles."

He raised an eyebrow at her, though his smirk never subsided. "My concentration? Well, I did manage to hold of an advance of gun barges back long enough for us to get reinforced. And that was while we came under aerial bombardment." Sure he may have left a couple details out, like it was his own side bombing just a little too close for comfort, but still. That didn't change the fact. In the back of his mind he felt she was up to something...or was about to be. But enjoying this rare opportunity to show off just a little, he pushed it out of mind.

"Course....you have no reason to believe that war story, so how about this. My next shot, I'll ricochet a bullet off the ground in front of the bottles into one of them." His confidence in his skill was palpable. Normally, he would never off that type of shot so carelessly. But he was much closer than his normal preferred range farther, so thus much easier. "Maybe then we can discuss, your end of the deal, hmm?" He finished with a sly grin. Crouching over the crate once more, he peered again into his scope. As it was already dialed in, he didn't need to mess with that.

Instead, it was simply aim, breath, hold. 'CRACK'

He was full of stories like any good pilot should be, course he had the additional flair of being a bounty hunter. Rekha met his gaze with her own determined look was she trying to make him miss, maybe, she could be the devil like that.

Mal you don't know what you are missing, you should think about joining us permanently and well making a few credits, as well as building a rep for doing the right thing when needed.

Rekha wasn’t intimidated though. She just smiled it would often make people wonder what she was up to, or about to do.

So what was she about to do?

He was looking down range preparing to make that shot to shatter another bottle into tiny little shards. She licked her finger, put one hand behind her back, the other with the wet finger she rubbed along the inside of his ear.

She tilted her head one way and then the other.

So…would he still make the shot, or would a wet willy break his fixed concentration?

Of all the things he could of imagined her doing as a distraction, THAT was not one of them. The shot rang out from his rang and went streaking across the alleyway toward the bottles. Impacting the floor, it ricocheted of and kept going. But instead of impacting the bottle dead on like the first round, it sailed on by. Only a small piece of shrapnel from the breaking up bullet nicked the side of the bottle causing it to spin closer to its neighboring bottle. But in the end, it remained standing and unbroken.

"Ahhhh!" He grumbled as he quickly reached for his ear and instinctively cleaned it out. "That was so not a fair distraction. Not in a million years would an enemy or even a friendly give a soldier a wet willy in the middle of combat." Although annoyed at having missed his shot, its was still rather funny. It was not something he would have ever expected. Turning toward her to see her smug satisfied grin, he narrowed his eyes, his sly grin changing to a determined smirk. He quickly turned back to the bottles, aimed and fired.

The shot again was slightly off, but this time with a reason. As it again impacted the floor and broke up, the shrapnel shards slammed into the now more closely space bottles, shattering one and cracking the other, causing it to fall. Satisfied with the shot, he brought his rifle up, allowing the butt of the gun to rest on his hip. "There. Three for three."

"As for missing out. I take similar and sometimes more dangerous jobs all the time. I'm not short on excitement in my life." He said with a bit of a chuckle. He cocked his head to the side trying to figure her out. "But it's startin' to sound like you're just looking for recruits, rather than a hired gun for a specific mission. Am I wrong?" He asked curiously with a somewhat more serious expression on his face as he leaned down and picked up an ale.

“You’re not wrong, we always looking for people to help us. We’re the Underground Mal, and while I can’t always say there are credits in it. I can say we give you opportunity to raid whatever you want for whatever your needs”

Rekha looked down range and then back to him, “A sense of humor is a valuable thing cupcake” she got closer, “would you have preferred something else?” She was teasing but she was a creature that had been hurt many times, and it took more than shooting straight to get her to act like she was a hot mamma ready to trot.

It took more.

Her eyes half closed, a silly grin on her face.

“We all live by a code of some sort, mine live life you never know when it will end.” She reached over touching the stock of the weapon, “it’s a fine weapon you handle it well, and if you want credits to live on, I got a line on a derelict ship drifting in the outer rim, said still have on it gems taken from the Hapes Consortium, and other locations.”

Rekha was talking business and business was serious, “I’ll split whatever we find with you to help with costs. If you’ll help us make the sith unhappy.”

She leaned forward kissing his forehead it was the best she could do right now and then stepped back, if he was around more and if he got to know her she might be able to show that side of her that [member="Coren Starchaser"] and [member="Spark Finn"] knew but that all took time.

“We can go from here to there tonight. If you want and if you’re in”

There were times to listen and times to speak. Now was the time to listen. Especially now that it looked like the discussions were getting more serious. A small smirk did grace his face when she mentioned about expecting more. But he remained silent. Instead, letting her continue on uninterrupted.

His weining interest in this job was piqued at the mention of a derelict ship with gems. Though the very notion that someone would abandon a ship loaded down with treasure was a bit absurd. It had happened in the past. Perhaps it was a small company with everyone knowing the location on that ship. In truth there were quite a few reasons now that he thought about it. And if she was telling the truth, it could make him rich.

Or perhaps it was just a ruse to give her more time to try and butter him up for their cause. In the end, he found himself willing to trust her, at least until they got to this treasure ship of hers.

"Ok. Tell you what I'm going to do. We'll head to this ship of yours right now. If you are telling the truth about it, and it turns out to be as full as you are making it seem. You'll have my services or a few missions. I can't promise to join your cause, but I'm willing to give fair exchange of services, for what is on this derelict of yours."

He held out a hand for her to shake. "Do we have an accord?"

[member="Rekha Kaarde"]

Rekha took the hand clasping it firmly, “Deal my freighter has light weapons, what do you have?

She wanted to make sure they got there and back, and if she needed to borrow a ship from the Underground she knew exactly who to call [member="Coren Starchaser"] he’d for certain hook her up with one. She should know almost where he was right now he was certainly a busy little bee all over the place lately.

“And it’s a split [member="Malcom Renolds"] and I’ve been tracking this through other ships all along, the Vespa Dawn has been missing for six months, and I paid a pilot to mark her last known position if he saw her.”

Rekha smiled, “He wouldn’t lie, not right off” Rekha let the hand go, “it’s worth it cupcake, just hope bottles aren’t the only thing you can shoot”

"Well of course, beautiful. But it doesn't take many gems to start adding up credits wise. Even on a split, it should be worth a lot. As for my ship. My profession dictates I maintain heavy weapons for my vessel. It shouldn't be a problem getting in an out." He said with a smirk.

His mind began to wonder to what type of stones the derelict was mining for out in the asteroid fields. Could be anything really...or even different types. All depends on location, location, location.

"As for the bottles." He said after releasing her hand and taking a look back at the mostly shattered remains. "I usually hit everything I aim for. As long as I we don't get swarmed with an army of bad guys, I think we should be alright."

Taking another sip of his drink, he turned back to Rheka. "So. To my ship is it? I got a spare bunk already for guests. And no, not in the holding area, but an actual room." Malcom finished with a light chuckle.

"It could be right next to mine, darlin'. You know, if you're feeling the need to go over things in the middle of the night." He finished with a wink and a nod. "And sounds good. I'll see you soon. Docking bay 32."
