You Again

"Why did you come here? To Courasent, that diner?" She blurted out. It was possible that it was just that he liked the food. He was a free man whom could do what he wanted after all. The question she had decided to pose was a better one than what was really on her mind. She was far to shy to ask such things.

"What is it like being a Jedi?"

He would look into the sky and look back to her. "Who doesn't come here." he would say with a grin. It soon faded as he answered the rest of the question. "I used to know a guy who worked there. He used to make the best food however he left to go off with his wife. Before he left, I swore I would keep going there when I could." he said kicking a rock and snickering about her other question. "I'm not even close to being labeled as a Jedi. I consider myself a rogue even though the lightside is what I lean to more." he paused to comment on his answer. "The dark side is one lovely thing and I sometimes rely on it. But what sets me apart from the sith or an average dark sider is I'm not evil."

Aless nodded at his answer. She had hoped that he had come looking for her. It was a silly thought anyway and now that she knew he hadn't the young lady decided to push such thoughts out of her mind.

"What do you consider evil? The galaxy isn't black and white. I do what I must to survive but I'm no friend of the Sith. The people that I work with aren't either. We like to consider ourselves a force of good within the galaxy."

He looked straight ahead and answered. "I consider any selfish act evil. But, there's many other thing that fall into that category too. Who do you work with?" he paused with a look of curiosity. "Hey, I sense trusting me must be difficult so I'll just tell you some more bout my self if you don't mind. And then you'll provide me with some more info on you, okay?"

"Seeing you again is something I never thought would happen. I'm a little taken back. You left for four years without a trace. You didn't even keep in touch." She sighed looking to the ground for a moment. I should have tried to contact you myself. I'm sorry" If she was being fair Aless hadn't tried to contact him either. She felt that he was far too busy with his Jedi training for her. On further reflection perhaps she should have tried.

"That sounds fine and I'll start. I work with the Republic against the evil Forces of the galaxy. It sounds like your order does similar work."

He looked at the ground thinking about what she was saying. Then he looked at her wondering why she was apologizing. "Why are you apologizing? Life isn't about being together always, especially with ones you love." he explained. He knew something was up so he just let it out. Alask looked as her feeling something. He shook his head and carried on with the conversation. "The Republic is a war group, if you think about it. But this isn't a matter of opinion I suppose. I'm of the Order of the Grey. An independent order, not known, not found." he joked at the end.

"It isn't but if you care about someone you should at least try to keep in touch. That's why I apologize because I do care about you." She wanted to be with him and she wanted him to stay or she could go with him. Aless didn't expect it to be easy but it was worth trying. She doubted he wished to be alone.

"The Republic has given me missions that are too my liking. They more importantly pay the bills. I have missed you though. It is nice to see you again."

He understood her reasoning but he wasn't sure if he was ready for a relationship. Emotional ties limit some things but could he really control it. "I feel ya. But it may different for me. Every time I look at you, explosions go off in my head and I want to be closer. However, the force reminds me that its my partner. Kinda odd, huh?" he said with a smile to the thoughts. The Republic probably wasn't that bad as Alask made it sound but being a rogue means independent decisions, right? "The feeling's mutual my dear." he paused as a question popped into his head. He decided to not say anything.

He was dedicated to the Force and while she couldn't wrap her mind around it Aless wouldn't question it. She wished to be closer as well but wouldn't press it. Instead she decided to drop the subject. The young woman wanted to wrap her arms around him and kiss him. Show him all he was missing but didn't.

"What do Jedi do? Like what is a day like for a Jedi?"

The question was indeed a good one, however he wasn't a Jedi. His brother was though, considerably good. "I don't know, never been one." he paused. "My brother is one though, we don't keep in touch too much though." he said.
