Mierin turned to regard the girl, and before she answered another burst of lightning sprung from her palm. Powerful bolts of blue and purple sprang from her palm, at this distance they it and crackled even Mierin, though the Sith Pureblood was more than used to the pain that they offered her and she reveled within the strength as the lightning consumed Eleena.

Then she spoke.

“We do not follow blindly.” Her voice was steady as a rock. “We trust, we hold him in check as much as he holds us by his will. The Dark Lord does not lead us blindly by the nose, he shows us the path.”

One didn't argue with a true believer.

She braced for it as soon as Mierin turned to look at her, but nothing could prepare her for the agony. Held rigid where she was by the lightening she collapsed in a heap on the floor when it stopped, gasping for breath and closing her eyes against uncontrollable tears of pain. She pulled her limbs into a kneeling position.

"Forgive me, Master. I am but a foolish child."

“Yes.” Mierin said. “You are.”

The woman turned away from the apprentice, motioning for her to follow once again. This time the Pureblood left the palace. This child had much to learn, and the first thing would be to adjust her attitude. She would have to learn that one could not simply speak their mind in the presence of ones betters. Her lips turned down as she reached the temple steps.

The Pureblood would have to tear the apprentice down, and then build her anew.

Eleena sagged as Mierin walked away, her head almost touching the floor as she allowed her pain to show for the briefest of moments. This was going to be a long hard lesson, but it was necessary. If her mission was to succeed it was imperative she let her Master believe that she was making a true believer out of her.

She cast a brief look upwards toward Darth Talon's statue before climbing to her feet and jogging to her feet to catch up with Meirin. Careful, once she'd caught up to remain and least two paces behind her.

Several days later Mierin sat within a small meditation chamber in the Imperial Palace, two of her Royal Guard flanked her, their red robes fluttering slightly due to open walls of the meditation chamber. Her glowing yellow eyes fluttered open as she heard the sound of a shuttering door drawing open. The Sith Pureblood's face turned upward as she looked towards the double doors, only to find one of her apprentices standing there.

“I have a task for you.” She said to the young woman.

The Sith Pureblood's face seemed unmoving and impassive as always, even the Silver Studs in her face didn't twitch this time. Apparently this time Mierin was slightly annoyed by something, though what it was was difficult to tell.

The stony expression with which she was greeted made Eleena nervous, and rightly so. one word out of line, one wrong look and she'd be writhing on the floor again. She hated it, she despised the fear that the woman before her instilled and she wanted very much to hit back. Patience was required.

Taking a few steps towards her master she bent to one knee before the pureblood, eyes cast downwards. She even breathed more softly in the hope that the less offense her presence made, the less likely she would be struck again. "I am yours to command, Master."

Mierin looked up at the girl. She was intelligent, cunning, and quick to learn, traits that she needed. She wanted the girl to do something that she herself could not do, something that was beyond her talents. The fact that she couldn't do it bothered her a great deal, and thus the sour expression.

The Sith Pureblood was not one to give up on a task easily, but for this particular mission, she was not well suited.

“You will infiltrate the Jedi Order, and kill their Grandmaster.” Mierin said it as though it were the simplest thing in the world. An apprentice sliding herself into the Jedi Order, and then subsequently killing the Grandmaster. Of course there was no hint of a joke or amusement in her tone, she was dead serious.

Glowing yellow eyes started at the top of Eleenas head.

For some time, Eleena said nothing. He head snapped up at the instruction, wide eyed and trying to see if Mierin was joking or not. the stony expression had not altered, so she looked back at the ground, mind racing. If she refused it was game over, if she protested in anyway she would suffer. She had but one choice, and that was to take the assignment.

"Master," she said quietly after a long moment of silence "I am honoured, that you would give me this task. But how am I to kill a Jedi Master, when I am but an acolyte? I am no match for the Grandmaster."

Mierin paused, and surprisingly she did not lash out for the questioning of her orders. She simply stared at her apprentice for a moment.

“I do not expect you to walk up to her and challenge her to a fight young one.” She explained. “You are to use subterfuge, stealth, and lies.”

Her tone remained steady, though there was still a hint of jealousy. Mierin would have much preferred to carry out this task herself. The killing of the Grandmaster of the Jedi Order was a fantastic thing, it would bring pride, fame, and glory, something that Mierin greatly craved at all times. “It will take time, but eventually you will come close to her, privately or publicly, and then you will kill her. It matters not how you do it, just that the task is accomplished.”

The last part of the message was clear, this would not be an honorable killing. This would not be a fight to the death or a duel of honor. This would be nothing less than an assassination.

Eleena's mouth was dry, her mind numb. What had she gotten herself into? She swallowed against her fear and looked up at Mierin. Determination etched on her face.

"It will be done, Master."
