ZZZZ Best

Now that Varindar was allowed to train Jedi, she promised that she would treat padawans as she would guests. And not in the sense of them being cash cows, but in terms of doing everything in my power to ensure their satisfaction, she thought, while realizing that she succeeded despite Morse, rather than because of her. Perhaps the Dathomirian Jedi would be willing to bring the new padawan to the kitchen, while realizing that [member="Zeet Riktee"] was learning the very basics from his last master, unsatisfied with him. She sent an internal memo that, from now on, the staff was to be prepared for her training Jedi while she was on-duty. Now that she realized that she would not need to teach him telekinesis or lightsaber combat again, she could then move on to more advanced stuff such as pyrokinesis/cryokinesis, even though she was a beginner in both, unlike Art of Movement, which she could readily teach in the hotel's pool if so he wanted. And probably tutaminis, too, but elsewhere on the premises. And also get into the more philosophical aspects as appropriate or required, just not as he would expect out of Jessica. Zeet arrived at the front desk:

"Welcome, young padawan. I'm Varindar, and I'll be training you today. But first, tell me about what you already know about using the Force"

Zeet was excited to finally get to meet his new master, but was surprised when he learned that she was the manager of the famed Crown Nebula Hotel. The skills that Master Asyt required to run the hotel efficiently not only in the management of the personnel, but the personality required to please the guest and remain diplomatic no matter the situation was exactly what Zeet was looking for in a teacher. His prior Master was an expert in the combative and offensive forms of the force and while the basics were appreciated, his true passion was in aiding the peoples of the galaxy with peaceful alternatives rather than slicing through their problems with a light saber. The opportunity to learn from Master Asyt as well as brush up on his own hospitality skills and force senses among the guest that will only continue to aid his goals of sharpening his diplomatic abilities. As the transport sputtered to a slow stop at the corner of the hotel Zeet developed a giddy sensation he attributed too finally getting to meet his new master as well as the guest of such a prestigious establishment in an otherwise underdeveloped and underappreciated world that was Trandosha. The door popped free of its locking bolts and slide open revealing the unique architecture of the Crown Nebula Hotel with sleek individual brown archways leading into the separate rooms.

Grabbing his bag and stepping out onto the intricate stone pathways that surrounded the grounds Zeet took a moment to acclimate but the searing heat was unexpected and began to quickly become worse as the bright sun rays beat down on his tendrils. The dry air and the oddly scented breeze dulled his natural senses and make him uncomfortable, but this wasn’t going to put a damper on his first day he thought as he sprung from his spot out towards the office. Finally out of the direct sun Zeet let out a small breath of relief, and as he looked through the window he could see guest and staff moving about the front desk with frantic excitement. Zeet didn’t need attuned force sense to tell that this was a place of great joy and excitement as the faces of the guest and even the employees had the glow of satisfaction. Opening the entrance door a cool breeze escaped from the interior of the building giving Zeet even more relief from the otherwise scolding heat outside. Slipping by the many new faces he finally made it to the front desk where he was instantly greeted by his new Master.

Zeet had done his research and found a recent photo of Master Asyt in the records and while she retained the same physical attributes of her flowing brown hair, fair skin tone, and stunning blue eyes she had an additional glow about her that the holo-images couldn’t convey.

Zeet gave a quick formal bow to his new Master before answering in his cheerful voice, “Master I have learned many things in regards to the force, but while I know of much I can only claim to be proficient in only a few skills such as Force Resistance, jump, body, speed, and some telekinesis.” Zeet’s previous master focused on the physical skills required in combat and the few practical one that would be useful. “But I have practiced other skills in an attempt to catch up with others who have been in the Order longer then myself.”

Zeet was a bit discouraged in his last statement as while he worked hard to be as proficient with the use of the force as the others he had only been with the Silver Jedi Order for the last few years and was woefully behind on his training. But hopefully now with his new start with Master Asyt here in the Crown Nebula Hotel he might just make the strides he had been working so hard for in recent months.

"The cold, hard truth is that most Jedi seem content to let the regular mediation circuits deal with diplomacy, either by lack of knowledge or just because they seem driven by self-righteousness. One of the main things to remember when in a diplomatic operation is that probing the emotions is an important aspect, and one needs to be sensitive to cultural and racial differences. That being said, do not probe deeper into emotions and surface thoughts than absolutely necessary, and the Force is to be used as a last resort"

The last Jedi that I actually heard about dealing with diplomacy problems that weren't of the inter-faction variety could probably teach Zeet everything I could teach him, and then some. She would probably tell him about how not to simply be a living weapon to fight the dark side, she thought, while reviewing the reasons leading [member="Zeet Riktee"] to seek her out at the hotel, for which the Nautolan willingly wanted to change masters to her. And also that, on today's agenda, pyrokinesis/cryokinesis were to be somewhere, especially making sure they would be eating outside of the restaurant's rush hours, but since it was almost the end of the check-out period for the room segment, she could, at best, lecture Zeet about the basic notions required to keep in mind when doing diplomacy because most of the guest complaints occur at or after check-in time. The most common complaint at the Crown Nebula is still a lack of vacancies, perhaps less common than it used to be prior to the third floor's completion, but otherwise there were few complaints. How the Crown Nebula gained such prestige on this planet was due to the fact that it was the only 5-star hotel on the planet (by Trandoshan standards, 3-star was already considered luxury) and, of course, the curio factor associated with it. Each and every time she had to hear reservation-less guests complain about a lack of vacancies, what was usually done was to arrange bookings to nearby hotels for however many nights they may have wanted to stay, usually at rates somewhere between one-third (if they were staying at the city's 3-star hotel) to one-fifth (if push comes to shove and they ended up staying at the city's Motel 7, which was still two-star, but the Crown Nebula never had overflow customers been sent to a one-star property) of the cost of staying at the Crown Nebula. That, even though most of those guests ended up eating at the Crown Nebula's restaurant at least once.

"Another thing that is crucial when doing diplomacy, that which many Jedi fail to realize until they assume leadership roles, is making sure that any promise you make can reasonably be kept, while, of course, being mindful of the other parties' needs and wants. The hard part is reconciliating all the parties' needs and wants, and you have to be attentive to all of them"
