Polymer-composite fiber matches scanner characteristics of whatever it is in contact with.
Lightweight and durable material perfect for clothes lining.
STRENGTHS
Scanner Baffler: Security-weave is a fantastic material for slipping items past detection systems since its exterior matches the qualities of whatever it is in contact with.
WEAKNESSES
Is That A Blaster In Your Pocket?: Security-weave won't stop a good pat down, and even scanners may detect what's hidden behind security-weave if they notice any suspicious weight or mass.
DESCRIPTION
Security-weave is a polymer-composite fiber created by Captain's Choice and designed to allow the wearer to slip small items past scanner systems undetected. Rather than trying to block or scramble scans, however, security-weave accomplishes this by blending into the background of whatever it is in contact with. The exterior surface of security-weave will match the temperature, electromagnetic signature, and even scent of whatever it's closest to, keeping whatever is inside the weave safe from scanning. Sealed pockets and pouches lined with security-weave will appear empty on scanners, if they even appear at all, as they will blend into the background of the surrounding material. The best results come from laying the material close to a person's skin so it blends into the body.
And the Kitchen Sink, Too!: The C/S20 Comm-Scan Package covers nearly every communications and scanning need a starship could have with a wide number of frequency and detection ranges.
Superb Scanning: The C/S20 sensor array can cover everything a starship needs from hull-based proximity detection to long-range, penetrative scans in multiple spectrums.
High-End Comms: The C/S20 comms array comes with a wide range of advanced communications equipment which increases the range and quality of transmissions in both subspace and hyperspace.
Passive Scan Mode: The C/S20 Package can enter a low-feedback passive scan mode, allowing it to run full-spectrum scans without being detected by other scanning systems.
WEAKNESSES
Two Birds, One Stone: Like with most all-in-one Captain's Choice component bundles, if one side of the comm/scan package is scrambled or damaged, it can impact the other connected system as well.
Sensor-y Overload: Only a basic number of external and proximity scanners are running passively, so more in-depth and detailed scans need the user to manually check across all sensor spectrums.
Chatterbox: The comms array only has a few basic security and encoding measures installed, which makes it easy to get your transmissions tracked or sliced.
Under Your Own Radar: The low-feedback passive scan mode lowers the sensitivity and range of the scanner array, and does nothing to conceal or encode the comms array.
DESCRIPTION
Another fantastic offering from the folks at Captain's Choice, the CC-C/S20 Comm-Scan Package is an all-inclusive hardware and software package designed for starships to provide a full range of communications and sensory equipment. The basic comms program covers the both subspace and hyperspace transmissions with high-definition audio, visual, and holographics. Additional boosters increase the range of these systems beyond common market arrays, while a backup comm-laser can be used for untraceable short-range messaging. However, the sensor package is perhaps the real star of the C/S20 as it covers a staggering range of spectrums and ranges both to keep track of local space and analyze targets. This sensor information can connect to the advanced targeting system to increase the efficiency and accuracy of weapons within scanner range. But the crowning jewel of the scanning system is the passive sensor array, which allows the scanners to run without being detected by other scanner systems.
Of course, all of these advanced systems are not without drawbacks, first and foremost being that tying the comm and sensor systems together means that they can easily be baffled or taken out simultaneously. At the same time, neither system is infallible, as the comms array is short on encryption or slicing protections while the layered sensor array requires manual input to cycle through scan types and get a full look at what is going on around the ship. The passive sensor array only makes this worse, as it reduces the range and sensitivity of the standard array in order to stay below the detectable range. Still, the C/S20 is an advanced all-in-one comm-scan package designed to provide Captain's Choice customers with everything they need to stay informed and connected in the modern galaxy.
Three-in-one propulsion system covers repulsorlift, ion engines, and hyperdrive needs for starships.
Scalable and adaptable to different ship classes and systems.
Fast, simultaneous activation for repulsorlift, ion engines, and hyperdrive.
Adjustable power flow between propulsion systems.
STRENGTHS
All-In-One Propulsion: The Tri-Drive covers your repulsorlift, ion engine, and hyperdrive all in one convenient package, which saves interior space and expense having to buy all three.
Power-Shifter: Not only are the power systems on the Tri-Drive highly adjustable, but you can move power between systems not in use to boost their power, like diverting energy from the hyperdrive to the ion engines.
0 to 60,000: The Tri-Drive is designed to kick in fast, and since it controls multiple systems your ion engines and hyperdrive can be warmed up and ready to go at full power before you clear the landing pad.
WEAKNESSES
Total System Failure: Since the repulsorlift, ion engines, and hyperdrive are all routed through this one propulsion system, any breakdown or damage to one can impair the others, or take the whole system down.
Power Hog: Repulsors, ion engines, and hyperdrives all require large amounts of power to run, especially all at once, so you'll either need to invest in a good reactor or a lot of refueling.
Tough Tinkering: Not only is the Tri-Drive hard to maintain, since it takes wear and tear from all three propulsion systems, but trying to make modifications to any of those systems is difficult due to how interconnected they are.
DESCRIPTION (Describe some of the histories behind the submission. Give us some idea of how it might perform its function, what it excels against and what some limitations of it are. This is where you talk about your idea, flesh it out over at least a good-sized paragraph, and address some of the ways it might be used or abused. For especially powerful or ambitious submissions, a very thorough description is recommended.)
