The Vonnuvi is an Ithorian herdship, with a focus in visiting struggling regions and planets across the galaxy. It is a sanctuary city, providing trade and resupply opportunities with those it comes across, as well as shelter for refugees and migrants who might otherwise find themselves without a home. As such, its population is more varied than that of most herdships.

, in accord with the high priest Gillom Rone, the Vonnuvi Enclave acts as a mobile refuge and headquarters for Jedi across the galaxy. It was constructed within the confines of the Inner City of the Vonnuvi herdship, among the harmonic balance of technology and nature that defines the customs of the Ithorian people.
In addition to its purpose as a location for the training and coordination of Jedi, it also serves as a consulate and defense force for the Vonnuvi. In the event of an attack on the herdship, the Jedi can strike back at any would-be invaders and help conduct general peacekeeping affairs on board. But the Enclave's primary purpose is to aid in relief efforts across the galaxy, bringing Jedi closer to galactic issues than living in a distant temple could.
