A Book of Blood Magic was an introductory textbook on the subject of Sith Magic in use at the Royal Academy of Bastion circa 853 ABY. Drawing on earlier examinations of the Sith and the nature of the Force, it presented principles and concepts that were considered to be essential for the novice to master in order to be capable of more advanced spells or rituals. The book used instruction in three different techniques in order to teach the foundational concepts of spell casting, ritual scrying, and astral projection.
Strengths:
- Balanced: Provides its user with a decently balanced tutelage and some background on the Sith.
- Flammable: Anything from a stray blaster bolt to a grazing lightsaber strike to a misplaced cigarette butt can send this up in flames.
- Dead Language: While many of the notations are in Aurabesh for ease of learning, the incantations, rituals, and spells themselves are written in High Sith. As such, the spellbook requires either knowledge of the Sith language or a translation taliman in order to be used.
