A Forest, a Monster, and Cat...What could go wrong?

Harrip smiled at [member="Katar"] , returning the embrace. He was madly trying to figure out what was wrong with his mind. It felt strange and alien. He wanted to know what was wrong. While his mind was burning with questions, he forced his body to remain steady and calm. He wouldn't want to concern the little one with him. He looked around the room for a moment, trying to figure what was wrong. He noticed the horrible state the area had been left in. The fire had burned down, the bedding had been tossed about, and the kit was a smashed ruin. The kit! That was it! It had been almost 24 hours since his last injection! No wonder his mind was foggy and he was losing control. He needed to get one before too late. Without one he would likely go crazy and maybe.... probably hurt someone. He said quietly, acting as if being quiet would slow the inevitable, "Could you give me a moment?" His voice was filled with concern and veiled fear.

Katar looked up at him, concerned. He sounded afraid. But of what? She smelled him again. The sick smell. It was stronger than it was before. Then she remembered his injection kit. She looked over at it in dismay. It was badly damaged. Thinking quickly, Katar rose from his lap. She looked over at the pot of cold medicine water he had made the night before. She distinctly remembered him filling a syringe with the liquid. She picked up the pot and held it out to him. She pointed at the liquid, then at his mouth.

Harrip quickly understood the meaning of the little one's gestures. He grabbed lightly at the pot, being sure not to break anything. He brought the pot to his lips and drank deeply. For about 10 seconds he just drank, draining it. His tongue enjoyed the taste of the herb. It quenched a thirst and hunger that were not physical. His mind cleared, he felt his thought processes returning to what he considered normal. As he placed the pot on the ground, he looked at [member="Katar"] saying, "It appears I thank you again. Thank you."

Katar nodded, grinning. She sat back down next to Harrip, crossing her legs. She put a hand on his arm, squeezing it gently. She wanted him to know that she was here, and that she was now his best friend.

Harrip thankfully placed his hand onto [member="Katar"] 's. He felt that he could understand a bit more now. He thought that she was a friend. Someone to be trusted, someone he could confide in, and someone whose friendship was worth the stars. "I hope you do not mind me asking. Can you speak?" Harrip made sure to not sound intruding. It was a hunch that had formulated during the events of recent times. That would make perfect sense as to why she had not made too much noise at all. He wanted to know her a little better, just as friends.

Katar shrugged, waving her hand a little. She had the ability to speak, but she never did. It always seemed cumbersome and unnecessary to her.

"Okay. You prefer not talking then. What are you doing here anyways? I never really got to ask, what with the Terentatek and then taking a night for rest." Harrip asked. He had come for rest from the galaxy, and possibly to find a home here. But then others had come for different reasons, he had heard of ancient treasures lost in these lands, rare beasts, and men full of wisdom. He wondered if she had come to rest of if it were simply hunt, he didn't know.
