A Ghost Among Us--[PM For Invite and Details]

"I believe I understand," Akio said at last, "What your saying is that the Force allows us to use it sometimes, for good or for bad, yes?"

"I've never heard someone describe the Force as 'allowing' but," Jon smiled, "I suppose that works."

"Then what makes us different form the Force? How is it all powerful if it is able to be used?" Akio asked.

"The Force is all that is," Jon said in a patient voice, "It is the energy field that binds all living things. Picture an ocean, all of it is water, all of it is the Force and we are just waves upon it. The mountain is a wave, the gorge is wave, you are a wave, the animal is a wave. We are all parts of the Living Force. The difference is, unlike the waves, sometimes we are allowed to change things, to move them, and act upon them within the Force."

"But how is that possible?" Akio asked, his confusion only growing.

"By using the Force within you," Jon said at last, "the truth is that when the Force is used to act upon something, your not changing it. Your changing yourself. You are changing the well of the Living Force that resides within you, making ripples on the ocean and changing the waves around you. That is why its important to choose the right side. Using the darkside corrupts and changes you to darkness. Using the lightside, changes you to to the light."

Stardust smiled and nodded half listening in on akio and Jon

He's right akio...inside us is a well of the force...and Jon can agree when one finds that well it is small and can't be used as much...however when you work on it it gets deeper and has more water within to use

She said as Mary nodded and smiled"well Jon I say we have two prodigies don't we

"I would suppose all of this makes sense," Akio said at last, nodding his head.

"I think you are right, Mary," Jon said looking back at her. "The ability for a user of the Force to draw upon it is not dependent upon anything other than their willingness to deepen its connection.

"Think back to the well," Jon continued, "the deeper you dig it, the more water you can draw. The further you embed yourself within the Force, the stronger your connection to it becomes, and the more you can do with it. Now, the road goes both was. You influence the Force as much as it influences you. Because you are the Force."

"There is no distinction between the wave and the ocean," Akio mused.

"Exactly, and there is no distinction between the user and the Force," Jon added. "All that is required for one to deepen their connection to the Force is time and training. I will aid you in your path if you wish, giving you insight, but ultimately it you alone can walk it."

"The road of destiny is one that must be traveled on foot and with intentionality," Akio agreed.

Stardust nodded and smiled

Akio...look at me...I sit on a fine line between good and even...I am the boat that sails through sun and storm...on to remain afloat on the water"she said and gathered her words

And I see you as...well the leaf on the water in the sun..its current will guide you and show you many places "she said

Mary nodded and again" I can see why I was destin to meet her Jon...she is very wise..she'd of made a fine master for the academy back in the day and maybe even the council

Jon gave a skeptical look to Mary, "I doubt it. Come on, they kicked us out when they found out we eloped. If they gave us the boot for something as small as that, I doubt they would let her stay on for being--well walking the line."

"But there were many great masters who walked the line," Akio objected, "Bastilla Shan, Mace Windu, even among the Skywalkers there were those who chose to use both the light and the dark."

Jon pursed his lips for a second before shrugging, "The Order apparently chooses when it enforces the rules now. I don't know who they are but at least in our day, they were more strict in their observance of the rules. Any form of dabbling in the darkside or what could lead there was met with discipline, generally expulsion."

"Perhaps that is why many of the Jedi are not as powerful as they were of old," Akio mused, "They have removed themselves from the light."

"It would make sense," Jon agreed, "To follow after the Living Force takes time, dedication, hard work, and many years of training. It is all but impossible to dedicate yourself to this if you are busy doing other things," he paused, shaking his head in disbelief, "Remember that, Akio. Dedication, diligence, commitment and discipline are the keys to reaching your full potential. There is no fast track to this. There are no shortcuts."

The Chiss dipped his head, "Yes, master. I will."

I suppose you are right Jon"she said and looked to star

When I was alive and in the Jedi order I had conflicting ideas with many of the others...most being that Jedi could show move"she said and smiled to jon"and that knowledge was to be gained and shunned for where it came from...

I understand ma'am

Hmm know this..I cam see untapped potential in you...your well is still not as deep as it'll go...and I will help dig that well with you

Thank you ma'am I'm honored"she said and looked seeing her ship"

"One's connection to the Force can go deep or wide," Jon said noting to Akio, "One could spread themselves wide and far, knowing many things but in a limited amount, or one could know a few things, with great ability. Decide which one you want to be."

"But is the Force not limitless?" Akio asked.

"The Force is Limitless," Jon agreed, "but your time is not. Let us say you spend a month training. You could spend a week each coming to gain an understanding of four skills. Or you could spend two weeks getting to know two skills. Or you could spend the entire month mastering one skill. Of course, training in the Force takes much longer than a week," Jon said waving his hand, "Many things take a lifetime to master, let alone understand. But you understand what I am saying?""

"One can fill one cup fully, two cups half way, or three cups a third of the way, or four cups a fourth of the way," Akio mused, "Yes?"

"Yes, that is one way of looking at it," Jon agreed. "Which would you rather be, Akio?"

The Chiss halted in his place and lowered his chin to his chest thinking. There were many ways of viewing it; either way he would be useful, but it was a matter of what the Force wanted him to do. The Chiss waited, ruminating, thinking, waiting for guidance. Several minutes passed as he searched in his soul, and sought the Force.

He raised his head at last, "A sword is only as good as its edge; the blade serves one purpose and so shall I."
