A Meeting Among the Dead

Ashe Senari

"WHy do I feel like none of those are the actual names?" the Echani questioned as he pointed up at random groups of stars. She couldn't help but laugh and immediately felt terrible afterwards. She didn't think she deserved to feel any sort of cheer anymore, not when Yusan was dead. She hated the entire situation. He should have sent her instead! She should have been the one to die, not him. [member="Kharen Promethien"]

He felt the regret again, and did something that after she hopefully laughed, would get him punched in the gut. Because without even hesitating he smiled and focused on her body, lifting her in the air slowly until she was out of arms reach and then lifting her over him and turning her to face him. "I forgot, the Dove."

"P-put me down!" Ashe whined, struggling a bit and finally managing to get free with alot of Focus. She dropped to the ground balanced on her hands and knees over him and growled. She punched him in the gut, not full force, just enough to hurt. She didn't like being tossed around without permission. She rolled off of him and laid back on the grass again. There wasn't much left in her bottle as she picked it up and finished it off. Sighed as she continued to look up at the sky. It had been slightly entertaining, but she still didn't like being picked up. [member="Kharen Promethien"]

He laughed as the punch hit im, and damn it definately hurt but he could still tell what she was thinking because of his empathy. "You had fun, didn't you." He smiled and looked at her face, thinking about it and looking at the sky. "Maybe i should find a constellation that matches you, a Dove in the night sky."

"Why do you call me that?" Ashe asked, her speech was finally beginning to slur a bit. She pulled herself back to a sitting position and dug in her bag again. This time pulling out a datapad. She was drawing absent-mindedly,not really paying attention to it as she looked up at the sky. She needed something to keep her hands busy, so she wouldn't end up hitting anything in the general area. [member="Kharen Promethien"]

"What dove? Because a Dove is white and it is a beautiful thing, signifying a peacefulness too it as well as a level of elegance... why did you wish for me not to call you such?" He looked at the silver haired woman, noting how he had lacked to acquire that trait from those that had passed on the Echani genes to himself.

"No... I don't mind...So... What exactly brought you to Eshan?" Ashe asked, turning to study her strange new companion. He certainly didn't look like an Echani, or half-Echani for that matter. She wondered why he was here, and in a graveyard no less. It wasn't exactly the greatest of places to spend time. [member="Kharen Promethien"]

"Hmm? Oh yes right, one of my parents were half Echani, decided i should see what all the fuss was about... cant say im too impressed with the place, so i thought i should pay my respects to the dead and the dying." He put emphasis on the last part, his eyes focusing on her as he said that, like he had expected the meeting to be a very different one if he had not talked to her.

"I'll survive... I have too... It's the only option I really have," Ashe sounded like she was on the verge of tears as she spoke. Surviving and living were two completely different things. Part of the warrior had died along with Yusan, she was nothing but a hollow husk now. She glanced down at the datapad and stifled a gasp at the drawing. It was a scene of her standing over the Miraluka who had killed Yusan. Her boot wa s pressed against the Sith's neck and she was smiling as the evil Queen struggled to throw her off.[member="Kharen Promethien"]

Kharen appeared over her shoulder and looked at the drawing. "Huh, all i can draw is stick figures..." He sat beside her now, looking at her drawing then her and nudging her. "Dove, let me explain something to you. Death is not something to mourn, in death we are free and safe from any more pain or worry, you must celebrate the life of the one you love because this... this revenge you want... it will only make the pain worse in the end." He looked at her face as he said this.

"It doesn't matter. No matter how badly I want it, I can never have it. I don't have anyway of getting to her," She sighed and set the datapad aside, grabbing the second, and full, bottle from her bag and openning. This bottle was a bit different, same kind of hard liquor, but with a little bit of a fruity flavor to it. She took a sip and set it in the grass. The stars were shining brightly overhead and the full moon was also gracing them with it's presence. She didn't know whether to laugh or cry. The entire scene just seemed to perfect and peaceful. He put his hand on the top as she tried to open it, taking the bottle from her and letting her realize he wasn't going to give this one back. "Miss, drowning yourself in this stuff will only make yourself worse, you are already slurred and any more could put you in the hospital, so do me a favor and stop drinking this stuff Dove."

"Keep it, I can buy more when I get off this damn planet," Ashe sighed, not really caring that she could end up in the hospital if she didn't learn to curb her drinking habit. She felt pathetic. She had failed to protect the man she loved, and now she was slowly killing herself. She wondered how long he'd spend screaming at her if he could see her now. Yusan didn't really approve of drinking even during happy times. [member="Kharen Promethien"]

"You are difficult, did anyone ever tell you that?" He laid back again, smiling at her as he did and not really paying much attention to the other stuff in the surrounding area. Infact he almost seemed to just blank out as he laid there, keeping his mind focused on the air above him, choosing to understand things as is and not as they were.

"If I had a credit chip for every time I had been told that in my life I'd be richer than a damn hutt," Ashe replied, staring up the stars again. She wondered if staying here and feeling sorry for herself was a good idea. Maybe she should leave, try to find some way to cheer up. Being on Eshan was only causing her more pain, but if she left she'd feel guilty. [member="Kharen Promethien"]

"Want to go off somewhere?" He looked at her and offered his hand as he stood up, a hand to help her stand as he smiled when he stood there, his eyes staring at her from where he stood. Soon though he looked towards the grave, and after she would be up or not, a few words could be heard from him as he bowed. "Stay safe in the light and the dark, the pain you felt is over." After that he would straighten up and turn to face her with a smile on his face.

Ashe tried to take a step and realized that her legs weren't entirely cooperating with her. She leaned against Kharen as she stood there, hoping that he'd be willing to help her walk. She took one last look at his grave and felt a few tears slide down her cheeks. She knew she'd be back eventually, but right now she wasn't strong enough to handle the pain. "Where do you want to go..." He looked at her crying form, staring at her and leaning his head against hers, his breath caught in his throat before he spoke. He didn't really care where to, but he knew she would need to get away from this place for now, how it would only cause her harm.

"Anywhere is better than being here," Ashe sounded completely numb. Aside from her tears her face was completely devoid of any emotion. She felt herself unconsciously shifting closer to Kharen, cuddling against him for some small amount of comfort. She needed a friend. Yusan was the only friend she had ever had. Tugoro could probably be considered a friend too after their sparring match, but they weren't nearly as close as her and Yusan had been. She felt a few more tears slide down her cheeks as she turned away from the grave of the only man she had ever loved, choosing instead to hide her face in Kharen's shirt. "Uh..." He almost said something but thought better than not to, his eyes focusing in on her and then on the path before them as he headed to see if there was somewhere where he could just sit her down and try and help her recover in anyway. He wasn't sure though, trying to look about the area around him for something.
