I don't understand why people are so obsessed with their characters and groups that they find any way possible to prevent their destruction. As you stated and emphasised, this a story. In stories there are tragedies, death, and wars. Don't think for a second that the One Sith are immune to this. Where I come from, roleplaying community-wise, it was better to go out guns blazing in an epic fashion than to persist throughout the ages for an eternity. I'd prefer to be remembered as a member of a faction that required the intervention of multiple others to take us down rather than some kid in some elitist group that only persists because of constant claims of metagaming.

Saki

Came in like a wrecking maul
I have fun fighting the One Sith, hell Teta and Alderaan were great story wise for Saki but also just a way to let awesome moments play out. Fighting a sith dogpile and struggling to survive, fighting Hauntruss atop in the mouth of and through her giant worm, getting out of the worm and the small interaction with Niamh about it. Great things but I want the One Sith around because when there isn't a threat the jedi do what they do turn on each other, blame and judge each other, force members out and them to make different sects. The jedi need a sith faction around to keep themselves from self destructing as a faction. The mandalorian barely do anything unless it is someone they can stomp out and it is highly doubtful the mandalorians and republic will go to war with ooc politics dictating instead of IC where they are supposed to be ready and willing. Alright my rant is done but bottomline the board needs bad guys, we for tooooo long had every bad guy factioon being "misunderstood." Someone who is evil and bad is a welcome. Also Omega Protectorate started building a superweapon before anyone else the One Sith just made the sub first.

Hmm. Wait, this post is supposed to be a quality one. I agree with everything [member="Rosa Gunn"] and [member="Darth Isolda"] said. But then my main function on this site is to like Mia/Rosa/Anaya posts! Things are happening on the site, there's chaos, war and more chaos. This pleases me.

But can we take a step back and look at the possible outcomes of the One Sith being destroyed? What new story arc would this community take up?
Yeah! Remember how when the original Empire got destroyed, everything just stopped? How everyone just collectively stopped roleplaying and nothing meaningful ever happened?

Oh, wait, that's not at all how that went down. Stories went on and continued regardless. Because, as it turns out, not everything revolves around the existence of a Sith faction for everyone to get angsty over.

The most important step is always the next one
*becomes Sith, most evil force in the Galaxy*
*takes the center of the Galaxy by storm*
*complains when factions want to go against the "bad guy" faction*

You should be proud.
You have some of the most iconic writers of SWRP, are making amazing story arcs throughout factionless AND Faction based characters. You are bringing this board something that it has been missing for a very long time, and its beautiful. You'll be fine.

So what I'm getting out of this topic is:
  • [member="Siobhan Kerrigan"] likes everything and everyone.
  • [member="Darth Vornskr"] is just here for the food.
  • [member="Jorus Merrill"] just went religious.
  • [member="Darth Isolda"] should be in a home somewhere.
  • [member="Darth Janus"] is King of Snark.
  • [member="Darth Mierin"] may or may not be Santa Claus.

I would wager that Empire was dead (or at least dying) before whatever official death it had. But sarcasm aside, yes, I would also wager that people were negatively impacted with the dissolution of the Sith Empire, and in a variety of ways. Just because you personally were not particularly impacted by it doesn't mean that you can apply that to everybody.

Stories went on but at the cost of characters no longer being applicable to other players within the faction. A little sacrifice some people may think, but that's is absolutely selfish a way of thinking.

The ultimate issue isn't whether a faction can or should be ganged up on or attacked mercilessly. It's whether it's necessary to go out of your way, rather OOCly I might suggest, to make sure a faction ceases to exist at all. That is a bogus conversation to be having; and I assure you it will continue to be an issue until either somebodies pet faction is threatened in the future, or it happens in such a way that a majority of the playerbase is negatively impacted.

I actually don't even know why I bother. :)

I'm quite enjoying being the bad girl.

I'm enjoying having many people come to hate me Icly for my manipulative ministrations.

I love that many writers are using me and the One Sith as plot devices for their stories.

Hate me! Come at meh Brah!

Don't make me make more tributes to the Goddess!!! *Does so anyways*

THE GODDESS WILL REIGN! HER GLORY AND HER DESIGN SHALL COME TO PASS!

*sorry Isolda always brings the darkside in me :)

Let's have fun folks -- keep it on the board icly and duke it out that way. Plot, just like Rosa is doing to icly move the galactic greats to come at the One Sith -- let it organically develop through RP interaction and watch the counters against the One Sith grow.

It makes more sense for several factions to go against the one sith if they actually RP it out and plan accordingly that way. To see them hash out their differences for the greater good. Heck, maybe even make a new Treaty of Chandrilla because of it.

*shrugs*

Either way -- I'm here my lovelies, as the Eye of the Dark Lord... ever watching... corrupting...

Oh [member="Kiskla Grayson"].... You are next, my little Dark Kiffar Queen. *evil grin*

Yessssss... All going according to plan...
I still need to stab you in the face, you touch too many people in way too many inappropriate ways Isolda...that of course is In-Character.

In-Character wise, do you really expect people to lay down arms and be conquered?

I think the whole Galactic Alliance concept might be good but at the same time might be bring about even further division amongst the Galaxy - In Character perception. I have no clue.

You can't for sure say - Destroy the One Sith and the site fails.

or

Destroy One Sith, stories fail.

Cut the head off the Hydra and another will appear in it's place. Isn't that the saying. Chaos is never ending. The One Sith are but one head to a greater enemy at large? I have no clue.

See, I caught my own character saying this!

Welp, all this 'ganging up' and 'attacking' the One Sith doesn't seem to have made much difference now, has it?

Besides, someone has to be the antagonist on this board, since no one else is. If you take on that role, just like in politics, expect to be the target.
