I was interested in helping up until it became less of an event and more of how to make a character uber powered/god. Events need to be fun for everyone and while Event Tech is awesome, you don't need it. I'd rather run my Mando and kill an Event Boss and take his lightsaber to wear as a trophy than to salvage tech off of a 19km SSD to make a godmod mobile in space. Why? Story. The Godmod Mobile will just cause problems. The lightsaber shows that my character was ballsy enough to fight a boss FU, smart enough to survive, resourceful enough to win, and tough enough to take it to the face.

The ideas [member="Captain Larraq"] and I gave were quickly hijacked into "how can we make so-and-so uber powered/a god" and less "how can we make an event that is fun and enjoyable for all the members, tech or no tech."

We have few/no player run events because of this problem. Small wonder why it's pretty much Staff run when we do have events.

Made by [member="Enigma"] to tease and with some help we have the base presented to the powerful Tegs. Positive reception so will see.

All I will say is this;

Events are for the community and should actively engage the community. Events should never be centered on a single person, ICly or OOCly. The former makes everyone else play second fiddle to a set plot, and the latter burdens them with ensuring the event happens.

Sinister planning. Ancient bioengineered weapons. Corrupted Aing-Tii. Rakghouls. Technobeasts. Zombies. Cool tech. Conspiracy. Brainwashing. Unlock the code.

I’m sensing a lot of suspicion and negativity amongst some people here.

I’ve seen the event concept and I think it looks viable and interesting. We’ll see how it turns out, but as far as I can see there’s nothing outrageous so far.

Seriously, though. I'll probably sit this one out. I have more important things to do right now. For example, winning a war.

Faction Admins should be involved.
Staff should be the ultimate controller to prevent meta and power-gaming by individual characters.
([member="Valeria Aetani"]) And on that note...enjoy.
I'm with @PoPo. I have a war to fight, and [member="Matsu Ike"]'s weapons to locate and destroy. Additionally, Jedi artifacts to recover...by Force if I need to. :D

maybe someone could unleash the virus during the harvest event, since some factions were given the ability to if I am not mistaken?

You don’t even know what the theme is, or the setting, or the plot. You’ve decided you won’t like it because you don’t like the people who volunteered to help organise it. Let’s not delude ourselves.

You don't have to take part, SWRP doesn't force any participation on people at all. And that’s fine, sit it out as you wish, come up with your own event concept, do whatever you like.

Except rubbish an idea you don’t even know half of yet because someone you don’t like is running it.
