"I sure hope we don't end up on opposing sides," Valery said seriously at first, but her signature smirk flashed through rather quickly as they worked on getting some of the crates out. "But not because I'm scared. I just feel we value similar things, so it would be saddening if something got us to fight."
She then continued moving some crates and nodded at his offer, "Credits isn't something we usually have a lot of as Jedi, but maybe I can get you some parts for the ship? Other than that, I don't mind helping you with something as a favor either." With a crate in her hands, she stepped outside and began moving towards the kitchen area.
"I'll also prepare us something decent — I quite enjoy cooking."

"Agreed." was all the clone said in response as he focused on the crew, wanting to let the topic of him fall to the dark side alone for now. His eyes followed the maintenance staff as they unloaded the crates of foodstuffs. Hopefully, none of them were clumsy.

Omen grunted as he lifted up one of the heavy crates, setting it aside. "At least we get some exercise... As for payment, I would prefer parts if possible. Its hard to keep an 800-year-old ship in operation. Just keeping the reactor from blowing up is a task within itself." He really should hyave picked a smaller ship but he had lived on a Ven nearly all of his life between deployments. Why should he stop now?

When she said that she would prepare something, the Clone's only two questions were "What are you going to make?" and "Can I help?"

"We have a lot of parts lying around here at the landing pad and in a separate storage room. Some left from the Temple rebuilding efforts, others from ships that pass by here." Valery said before she looked over at the maintenance crew officer and summoned him over with a quick wave of her hand,
"Could you get a parts list together of what we have here? Give him whatever he requests from it."
The maintenance officer reached for the datapad on his belt and nodded, "I'll have it ready soon." And with that, he stepped away to get to work.
Valery and Omen then finally turned to the kitchen to prepare something to eat, and she was left thinking about the questions for just a moment. "Maybe something simple since it's just lunch? A healthy sandwich with fruits and vegetables from your supplies might be nice." She chuckled.
"You're free to help me prepare it, too. But don't feel like you have to — I quite enjoy cooking or preparing meals."

Omen bowed his head in thanks after he watched Val ask for the parts list. It would be nice to have at least some of the spare parts to fix up the old gal and have some professionals look over her workings and make her shipshape. Never knew what defect they might find that could only be dealt with now and not later in battle.

Walking in the Jedi's wake, he would push the curtain to the kitchen aside, revealing a full mess style kitchen. "Sandwiches would be fine." The Clone would chuckle as he plopped down on a stool, ready to step in if asked but otherwise staying out of the way. "So that's why you had that new baby? To have someone else to feed?"

"Well," Valery responded with a chuckle.
"The baby wasn't exactly planned. Or at least, the plan wasn't to get her when we did." Valery explained as she began to prepare some sandwiches for them. She had all the fruits, vegetables and some meat and eggs as well for it, so they were going to be really good.
"We were talking about starting a family after he'd return from confronting his father, but I found out I was pregnant shortly after he left to do just that. He didn't find out until he returned near the end of my pregnancy." Valery said as she moved around the kitchen counter to set the first batch of sandwiches on the table.
"He and I both love cooking though, so it doesn't feel like I have a lot of mouths to feed constantly." She smirked and grabbed her own plate so she could join him at the table.

Omen decided to help out by cutting up some of the fruits and collecting packages of berries to have on the side. They wanted to be healthy right? Might as well have a well-rounded meal then.

The Clone wasn't surprised about her getting pregnant early. The Jedi didn't believe in contraception after all as Valery had told him before. "Atleast you got a family. That is something many in this galaxy don't get. Plus you get to help Plank survive which he probably couldn't do on his own without you." Sitting down at the table with his own plate, Omen would turn to the Master with a question. "Any other things you want to accomplish besides a wedding and your Ondrean trip?"

Valery smiled after taking a bite from her sandwich — she clearly enjoyed it and only stopped to snicker at the comments Omen made about her family and keeping Kahlil alive, "He's quite capable, actually. He was a spacer for a long time as well." Valery said but with a smirk that made it clear she understood he was joking.
"But you're right, it is nice to have a family." she nodded. "As for things I want to accomplish... I'm mostly focused on my family and what I do as a Jedi. I think I'd like to get another kid someday, but there isn't much else I'm trying to accomplish." Valery then took another bite from her sandwich and focused her gaze on him.
She didn't really like talking about herself much, so it was time to shift the conversation. "Aside from your training, what are you looking to accomplish in the near future?"

Omen chuckled as they bantered back and forth. It was the most he had talked to someone one on one in quite awhile and it was not to have his own thoughts clogging up his head with no way to get out. "Capable maybe. Stupid at times defiently. But isn't that most of the galaxies male population."

The Clone tried hard not to laugh as Valery explained her goals. "Well, knowing you two star-crossed lovers, having another kid shouldn't be a problem. As for me... hmm... Well like I said before, getting that government position as well as outfitting my ship, meeting new people, trying to get closer to that girl if possible, and trying not to break down in frustration in the process. Just good old life stuff."

Going back to quietly chewing on her sandwich, it was hard not to the clone's awkwardness in finding a topic they both could enjoy. They both came from very different ways of life. Maybe they could just practice telepathy next so they didn't have to speak out loud.

Valery rubbed the back of her neck and chuckled, "Maybe, but since I've been with him, he's been pretty clever. A good father too, so I really feel I can lean on him." She then noticed him trying to contain his laughter, and smirked a little. "And yes, it makes getting another kid someday more of a possibility too." she chuckled.
She then remained quiet while she listened to him. The girl he liked was something she remembered — last time she had tried to offer some advice about the situation. Valery hoped that he'd be able to get closer to her soon, as it seemed to be on his mind quite a bit. "Life can definitely be that way. Just put yourself out there and I'm sure you can meet some new people. Going out or attending events might be a good place to meet people, too."
Valery then finished up her sandwich and looked over at him with a kind smile, "The friends you already have can help too, of course." She got up to her feet and stretched her arms and legs a little.
"Still up to learning something? Or had enough for the day?"

Omen shrugged at Valery's comments on Plank's ability."I bet he is. I just don't know him as well as you and the only time I met him in person he was a little... inflexible from his worldview. Hence his nickname. Either way I wish you both the best."

The Clone chuckled softly as the Jedi pushed him to see new people. "Tired of me already? And I do try to go to parties and all that stick but I kinda find that I start more fistfights than make actual friends. I'm not so good at reconnecting with them either... Just something to work on like all things"

Moving his head to make a satisfying CRACK, the old warrior would stand from the stone bench that they had shared and nodded in affirmative. "I think we have enough daylight for another lesson."

Valery smiled as he offered his best wishes to her and her family, but she felt it was a good time to move on from that topic as well. She had talked more than enough about her own life, and was more interested in seeing how she could help him. Even if it was just a little bit.
"Well, you might also be looking for friends in the wrong places, then," she chuckled. "Maybe the clubbing types aren't really the right people for you — try and make friends through shared interests." Valery then blinked, realizing she was talking too much like a mother or teacher again.
"Not that I don't think you need the advice... but I do hope it'll go well." she offered a genuine smile. Valery then stood up as well and gestured for him to follow her. Rather than taking him to the Gardens, she decided to bring him down to what she used to call the overlook. It was a patch of open land with green grass from where one had a view of all the surrounding hills.
"Unless you have a specific desire to learn something, I was thinking I could teach you Curato Salva. The basics are so simple young Jedi Initiates learn it, but it is very useful. It heightens your body's ability to heal itself, flushes out poison and it can even cure diseases. It also counters the natural decay of the body, allowing you to live much longer if you practice it daily." It was also why Valery was going to look as young as she did for a very long time.

"Yeah, clubbing types definitely aren't me... I'm not Yula Perl or her family that's for sure. And I'm definitely not as pink or as flashy." Omen held out as hand at the Master tried to apologize. "Its alright. I know you are trying to help me and that means a lot. Even you trusting me as an outsider and trying to teach me is worth more than the food that I brought here in my holds."

Grabbing up a stray stick that he could use to propel him forwards, he would follow Valery into the valley of green. Trying to keep in stride with the Jedi, he would smile at the words Curato Salva. "I've been reading about healing for a long time, even looking into the Dark Transfer technique or what scant information I can find on it. I know I don't have the power to bring out back the dead though or at least not yet. Either way, it will be nice to learn something that will keep me alive."

The smile Valery had been carrying briefly turned into a frown when he mentioned Dark Transfer, and her eyes turned to him with a slightly more serious tone, "There are more natural ways to keep yourself and others alive. To draw on something darker to go against nature... it comes with a price." she warned him. "One I don't think you're willing to pay, or should be willing to pay." She then lowered herself near the edge of the cliffs and looked far across the valley with a calm smile.
"Curato Salva is what I believe to be the foundation of all Healing. It's what we consider a Control ability, which means it revolves around using the Force that flows through you just to affect yourself. So it's not going to heal others, and it won't let you live through very serious injuries either. But it helps you maintain your health quite well, and it can be a good stepping stone to learn more about healing with the Force."
She looked back at him with a smile. "Any questions before I run you through it?"

Omen met the Jedi's gaze, taking her serious in with his own. "I've heard if the same technique is used with the light side it has the same effect. Maybe my source was wrong, however. Either way, I just researched it because of boredom. Like I said before I'm not falling to the dark side anytime soon." He would then sit on the cliff's edge as he listened to the Jedi's lesson with both ears open.

Chuckling, the clone would nod at the Jedi explanation. "So that's what the Ashlanders do during their evening prayers. It all makes sense so I don't have any quest... AHHH!" Suddenly the edge of the cliff collapsed and the artificial mando started to plummet down to the valley below. Maybe Valery would be kind enough to give him a headstone.

Valery nodded with some relief visible in her eyes, "Looking into Healing without channeling darker emotions will be what you'd need to do. That and understanding how to protect life without twisting." she said before she listened to him again, making sure he didn't have any questions about Curato Salva before they'd begin.
But then something happened that caused her earlier look of relief to fade quickly.
As the edge of the cliff crumbled and threatened to send Omen into an early grave, Valery's eyes widened and without a moment of thinking, she stretched out her arm and connected with the Force. While she could have grabbed him with her hand, the risk of being pulled along would have been far too great, so she chose to grab hold of him using the Force.
Luckily keeping him levitating wasn't too hard for a master of Telekinesis, and she looked at him with relief again. After a sigh, she began slowly moving him back over to the overlook.
"I don't think jumping off the cliff was part of my instructions." she joked with a smirk.

"I'll make sure to give you a chance to use your jetpack next time." Valery chuckled and shifted back several feet to have a little more clearance from the edge. Even if it looked and felt safe, the partial collapse could have weakened the part that she was sitting on as well, and she didn't really feel like having to climb her way back up.
"Now, as I said earlier, Curato Salva is a control ability, so you have to turn your focus inwards and take control of the Force as it flows through you. The idea is that you intertwine its flow with your body's natural healing and defenses — you accelerate self-healing and you better defend yourself against poisons or diseases."

She turned her body a little and grabbed a small vial from her belt, "This is water with a light sedative mixed into it. I figured a good exercise would be to first try the ability, and then drink this so you can flush it out. If you fail, the worst thing that happens is that you get a decent nap in." she smirked and offered it.

Shifting his feet, Omen would follow her lead. He didn't want to waste precious jetpack fuel by taking a tumble, did he? All those expenses added up.

Listening to the Jedi Master's explanation in full he would take the vial and eye it. Well if the Jedi was lying and really wanted to assassinate him, as unlucky as it was, he might as well see his killer in its full light.

Satisfied that it was only water with a bit of sleeper agent, men would turn back towards the Jedi with a small smile. "No, the worst that will happen is if I have to pee off in the bushes after that nap but I'll take the risk."

He would quickly gulp it down and then sit on the grassy soil in the customary cross-legged pose. Focusing on his river, he would isolate the chemical spill in its waters, netting up the sleeper agent and grabbing it up out of the water like a freshly caught carp. Some drops might have escaped and the Clone definitely felt a little more fatigued than usual but no worse for wear. As he got back up a few minutes later, he would crack his neck and shake out all the shimes out. "That wasn't that bad. Hopefully, I got it all out."

"I won't judge if you need a second attempt," Valery said with a smirk but she was serious about it. Her expectations weren't that students executed everything perfectly on their first attempt, even if the skill they were learning was supposedly very basic. All students had an affinity for different things and learned at their own pace.
Omen seemed to be handling it really well though. It certainly helped this wasn't his first time learning but even then, he only seemed mildly affected by the sedative she had given him.
"You'll find out rather quickly if you didn't get all of it out." she chuckled, "But it seems you at least got enough to stay awake, which is what matters and would make a huge difference out in the field."
Valery then got up herself to stretch her arms and legs a bit, "I suggest practicing this daily, like a form of meditation. It will help you feel much better in general, and the practice will make it easier to handle stronger poisons or diseases."

"I should be alright to at least walk back to the main complex. It was a very interesting experience, however. Thank you for taking the time to teach me." Omen stretched out his armored arms as if waking up from a nap. He wasn't used to using this power for so long plus what little remained of the sleeper agent... Well it would be clear to the Master that her clone companion was alittle tuckered out.

The Clone nodded at the Jedi's statement. Any skill that would get you out alive of a deadly situation was a good skill. "I'll of course take your suggestions under advisement. I try to practice my skills whenever I can anyways. Never know when you might need them. You though already know that."

Picking up a strong stick to help him walk back, he would gesture to the temple looming in the distance. "Ready to head back?"
