A Wandering Mind [Training]

Rosa Gunn

Guest
Rosa glowered at him from the landing, "You are fast becoming my least favourite person today Master Wraith!" she said, peering over the edge again and stepping back and holding her breath fro a moment before letting it out. Come on, Rosa, she thought to herself, you can't let him win this, he'll never let you live it down.

Pre-visualize. What she needed to do was not bring pictures to her mind of her falling, but landing. She had to trust in herself, in the force and in Darron... and not gravity. She jumped, and for a split second felt like she was falling but she quickly correct herself and landed, but not lightly. Her knee cracked against the marble floor and she let out an uncharacteristic curse. That was going to be very sore in the morning, she did her best to ignore the throbbing as she stood.

"Least favourite." she repeated at Darron with a wince as she paced back and forth testing her weight on it and making sure she hadn't done more than bruise it. Before looking at the corridor he had gestured at. "Three seconds?" she shook her head "Starting from when?"

Darron winced a little when he heard her knee crack against the marble, not very graceful are we Rosa? The Jedi Master laughed for another moment or two at her as she tested her weight. With his senses though he reached out to her and he could feel that her knee was slightly injured. "Oh that will not do Ms. Mazhar, will not do at all." He walked over to her and stopped her from pacing, "here rest your hands on my shoulders for a second if you don't mind?"

The Jedi Master knelt down, and pulled her pants leg up to her knee, from what he could see there was some slight bruising on the sides. "Apologies," he muttered as he placed his hands on her bare skin. It was quite soft and cool to his left hand, and Darron momentarily forgot what he was doing down there besides marveling at Rosa's leg. Way to go Wraith, bet her dad would love to know that you're a Master at flirting as well as the blade. Mentally kicking himself, Darron set himself back to work. "It seems you slightly tore the outer ligament, this won't be comfortable." As the words escaped his lips, he pushed the Force from his hands, and willed the ligament to reform and heal at an accelerated rate. His mind was a blur as he visualized the cells undergoing rapid mitosis and the cells reattaching themselves. To the naked eye he could see that the bruising was gone, and in the Force he could feel she was whole again.

"There, looks like we got you fixed up...glad I could help." He released his touch and let her plain pants fall back to her ankle, his eyes lingered on his hand for a moment as he walked away from her and back to where he had originally been standing. He allowed his expression to go back to neutral as he turned to her. "Oh, and since the knee is fine now. You have no excuses for failing Rosa, oh and the test begins....now." She would learn that Jedi had to think on their feet in all facets of life, and this lesson would demonstrate that.

When she rested her hands on his shoulders she did not expect him to raise the leg of her pants. eyes widening momentarily she looked down at him as he inspected her knee. She let out small squeak at the contrast of cold metal and warm skin her heart skipping a beat. "Darron, what are you doing?" she asked, but then he told her what she had done to her leg and she closed her eyes, kicking herself for thinking that he was doing anything else. "Oh." she replied and gritted her teeth as he began to heal her.

"There was me thinking you just wanted to get a good look at my legs." said sarcastically as he released her leg. She flexed it as he walked away, smiling to herself at just how talented her Master was when she realised he was speaking again.

She ran the moment he said 'now', letting the force fill her and willing herself to go faster and when she reached the end of the door and it didn't close she slowed down and turned to look back at it. A wide smile on her face. She felt exhilarated and a small laugh of triumph escaped her and she sat down on the floor in the middle of the temple and laid back, not caring at who walked past.

So telekinesis was ok when she didn't think about it, empathy was uncontrollable, jumping sucked and landing sucked even more but speed? At least she had managed to get something right today.

Phew, thank god she has speed on her side.

Darron couldn't help but marvel at how Rosa had reacted to the test placed before her. He had barely even gotten to two in his head and she had crossed the threshold and simply fallen to the ground. Her laugh of triumph caused him the smile as well, looks like she got some of her father's talent. Either that or I'm actually pretty decent at something other than killing people. Darron gave a few claps to show his approval as he made his way towards Rosa's lying form. Her laughter and his clapping echoed throughout the halls and he could feel the younglings staring at them. Guess we need to get out of here for a while, he thought to himself.

As he approached her, Darron kneeled to regard her. "Well Rosa, looks like you passed with flying colors. Keep this up and you will end up going on a mission or two with me. Your telekinetics need refining but your speed is seriously amazing. I've seen Master's who couldn't pull off what you just did, and that was during stressful combat situations. You just did that with a casual test, I'm very impressed."

The Jedi extended his prosthetic to Rosa, and pulled her up to his feet. "Follow me, if you don't mind." Her excitement was rolling through the Force, and every Jedi around them turned to regard the pair as they made their way to the mess hall. As they approached the table, a few of the younglings brought in some food and set it down on the table. "Here you go Master Wraith, our Master said we could bring your food if we did good today in class." Darron simply ruffled the boys hair and made his way to sit down across from his Padawan.

"So, now that you've survived your first morning of Jedi training. How do you feel Rosa, what is it like following in your father's footsteps?" Darron put some chicken and rice on his plate before regarding Rosa once more, her face was rather elegant. She had a classic beauty about her that showed through even when she was dressed plainly with no make-up. There you go again Darron..stop it. "What do you think about the Jedi now that you are living among us, any fears or doubts? Would you like to address what happened with your empathy and what you saw? You tell me." Blue eyes regarded Rosa intently, and he just sat there giving her time to ponder his words.

Darron's praise made her ha soar and it took every inch of her willpower not to hug him as he helped her to her feet. She couldn't remember that last time she felt this good, even when she was raised from a simple assistant to a full member of SIAC she had never felt such a sense of achievement. Her heart melted at the younglings and she gave Darron a small smile as he sat opposite her, wondering if he realised how much of an inspiration he was to those he met.

Rosa helped herself to the food before them and smiled at Darron's question "Well, aside from the empathy issue and the fact that my Master is making passes at me every five minutes," she was smirking as she looked at him "pretty good." popping a piece of chicken in her mouth she chuckled and shook her head. "Sorry you wanted a serious response didn't you." she paused as she though about it "It feels like, I'm where I should be. The subject of me going into politics instead of coming here was a sore one where my father was concerned, he truly believed this was where I belonged not 'picking my way through lies' as he called it. Funny really, he hated politics, yet he married a Senator, where is the sense in that?" she chuckled "I'm glad I came here, even if it wasn't when he wanted me to come."

She took a few more mouthfuls as she pondered over his next question. "I've always had a high opinion of Jedi, I guess living among you has merely strengthened my opinion. Do I have any fears? No, but I'm sure if ask me that next time you tell me to jump off a platform, my answer will be different." she flashed him a sweet smile, in an attempt to hide the stab of sadness at him asking about the empathy.

She looked down at her bowl pushing the food around it for a moment. "We don't need to talk about what I saw." she said softly, looking up at him seriously "I have a million questions, but not for today, maybe not even tomorrow. Something's are better left unanswered, a fact I found out the hard way. I do need to understand how I lost control though, if I can understand it, I might be able to stop it from happening again, maybe even keep myself from the emotions and just focus on the images."

"You know," he paused to finish eating his food. "I was thinking about that, if you could possibly focus on the situations and memories you see and not the emotions. That empathy could become quite the powerful tool when you get out on your own. Not many Jedi have such an affinity for reading other's like that. I'm not particularly skilled at that myself to be frank and honest with you." Darron leaned back in his chair and took a drink of water and pondered his next words carefully before continuing. "Your particular gift could make you a valuable investigator or part of the Diplomats core, you could weed out liars instantly with that power. You should consider your options as the Jedi could use that, hell you could even get into intelligence with that power."
As he sat his glass back down, Darron couldn't help but look at Rosa and truly take her in for the first time while they were sitting there. A face like that can make you forget you ever had any pain in your life, he thought to himself. It wasn't just a physical beauty that caught his attention though. He could see the strength of her character, and he had seen how pure her spirit was. For as stained his own soul was, her's was almost a clean slate and it was quite beautiful to regard in the Force. If I were to be dropped in the middle of this world, I could still find her in the Force, she stands out that much. Inside he smiled at the thought, but he soon quieted the voice that kept whispering the sweet thoughts to him.

"You know your skill set reminds me of your fathers, although he was a very physically powerful man. He wiped the floor with me before I concentrated and honed my skills and got a little bigger with age, that empathy power of yours must come from your mother because I never heard him speak of that when we were on missions together." A few younglings caught his eye as he watched them play with each other, oh the innocence of them. His son started to creep into his mind, and Darron once more focused the memories away. His eyes focused on the wall, so as to avoid staring at Rosa anymore than he needed to. She had already caught on to the fact that he had made a few, if unintentional passes at her. Guess I need to relax on that if I want to maintain a good relationship...or did she like what I said? Confusion rolled over him, it's many layers bugging him all at once. The whole situation seemed exciting, fun, not allowed, and something he should avoid...but he simply couldn't.

I have every reason in the galaxy to say no to this woman, yet she's the only person to get my interest since Maria. The thought of his ex-wife simply brought back memories. Looking back on it, they had both been troubled youth who made a major mistake being with each other. Jason had been the only good thing to come from the two, guess even mistakes can make some good things, he mused. Yes, she had been a good but troubled soul who didn't really love him she just wanted a savior, and Darron had only wanted to save her. Her suicide had rocked him at the time, partially because a Sith had manipulated the event, but he had felt badly for his child. He didn't miss her because he had never truly loved her, they had just been comfortable around each other.

Once more, Darron turned his thoughts from the past and made a decision to leave it right where it was...in the past.

"You know, out in the field your skills would work wonderfully with mine. Pair your empathy with my tele-" Just then a beep from his communicator interrupted him and his mood. "Hang on, let me look at this." The Jedi rolled his prosthetic around to the inside and a panel opened within revealing a small screen. It was addressed from the Council, wonderful just what I need...

Darron,

You are needed later to see how you have acclimated. Come alone, at five and bring your lightsabers.

A sigh escaped his lips as he closed the panel and looked off for a moment, the Council and their tests. I'm at my wits end with them poking and prodding my mind and body. He took another calming breath as he stood to his feet. "Well I have to go, and you have homework. Go work on your powers you have practiced and if possible read up on control and on lightsabers, meet me at six in training room 3113 again. I should be there still for a test from the Council to see how I'm holding up ever since my return. Dress comfortably, we train with a lightsaber tonight...." He let his words hang in the air as he waved and took his leave from his Padawan to go and get prepared for what the Council had in store for him.

Later that day....

"Here before you Darron, are our four best warriors in the Order. Who have tried to carry on the assignments that used to be assigned to you, and have each mastered a different form of lightsaber combat. Prove you are still the warrior we all heard about, and some of us saw and we will further consider putting you back on active duty."

"So, you want me to best these men and I'll get my usual assignments again? Clean up the things that even you esteemed Jedi are afraid of?" The all nodded in unison, and he couldn't help but feel frustration but he accepted it. "Well what are you four waiting for?" In unison four blades activated around him, their snap-hisses and the hum of their blades a battle cry in of themselves. Darron activated his emerald and azure blades himself and allowed the Force to flow deeply into him as he did. The moment before him crystalized and he was able to asses the situation and a path immediately started to chart itself. It was almost as if he was standing far and away from the circle of combatants about to engage in combat, and he was getting to look at the situation from the outside.

From where his mind was at, he could see each Jedi get into their ready stance. The first was in Makashii's ready stance, another was classic Soresu. Behind him he could see the Djem-So and Ataru awaiting to pounce on him, four very different styles but Darron was prepared. He had trained in all styles, and he had Mastered Ataru before gaining size and becoming a Djem-So Master, after that he had gone down the path to the style he alone had mastered and used now in the Order: Vaapad. From his perch he could see each pouncing as if in slow motion, and in that moment he actually looked at himself for a moment.

His face looked calm, but Darron knew he was going deep into the Force and allowing his will to win taking over. It was the key to Vaapad, and he had already formed the superconducting loop that would turn the his opponents own aggression into his weapon. It was his way of taking their darkness, combining it with his own and making it into a weapon of the light. It's what made him such a devastating warrior to the Sith, he could go toe to toe with them and be just as ferocious in his protection of life. Man, I look tired and annoyed, I guess the Council is really getting to me. The armored breastplate, and cortosis greaves he wore fit him well, and his prosthetic was covered by the leather glove and the greave. He was dressed in his full mission gear for the first time in ages, it was rather nice to see him as he had been. I've missed that armor..wait is Rosa here? His mind's eye picked up her presence at the edge of the room watching the unfolding scene. Guess I need to wrap this up, with that he formed his plan and decided to hold nothing back. Although he was only armed with training sabers, the Jedi would leave no doubt for the Council.

Darron's view changed as his consciousness returned to himself as the four Master's before him leapt at him. His mind deep into Vaapad, he simply decided to end the combat quickly. Training sabers be damned, i'm in no mood for this today. His mind went blank after that thought, and he simply reacted to what happened.

The Ataru Master leapt high above Darron, and he simply wrapped his senses around him and accelerated the Jedi's leap and turned it into a powerful throw. With no time to react the Jedi simply slammed into the wall and crumpled as the tiles themselves shattered from the impact. With little time to react, Darron barely got his blades up in time to avoid the stab from the Makashi Master, another stab then a quick slash to Darron's head was met with both of his blades. Their sabers whined against each other until Darron slid down his glade and gave a powerful elbow to the man's face. Knocking him out cold, two down two to go, he thought.

The Djem-So Master was on him in seconds, his powerful overhead strikes matched by Darron's staccato lightning fast strikes. Offense versus offense was the maxim here, and Darron looked to be encased in light as his blades worked furiously to counter the powerful strikes. Luckily Darron had mastered that form and he was more than strong enough to match the burly Jedi before him, his opponent came down with another powerful blow and Darron simply sidestepped it and brought both training sabers on the man's neck, stunning him into submission.

Blue eyes found his last opponent, the Master of Soresu stood at the ready. He was an older man, but Darron could feel his strength in the Force. "Apologies brother, I'm sorry." Darron went deep into Vaapad as he launched himself into a powerful volley at the man before him. Every staccato strike from his pair of blades was met with efficient defense, the harsh reality was that the man was just too slow and he was barely keeping up as Darron backed him up across the room. The older Jedi's boot caught a dent in the floor, and Darron could feel his weight shift back too fast. Pressing his advantage he blew the man's saber away and struck his legs out from underneath him. The training blade sent the stun pulse through the man's body, and Darron was now the lone combatant left.

"Looks like we are done here Council, I have my Padawan to attend to." With that he turned and threw the training saber hilts down and motioned for Rosa to follow him against the hall into their training room. Darron let his tone of finality hang in the room as he exited, a grin crossing his face after so strongly proving his worth to the Council. He had just taken down their four best warriors in less than twenty seconds, and he had finally shut them up...at least temporarily.

As he made his way into the room, Darron quickly shed the greaves he was wearing and he pulled off his breastplate and the undershirt he was wearing to expose his heavily muscled frame covered in sweat from the tests he had been undergoing all afternoon. He quickly pushed his hair back before closing the door with his mind. "So Rosa, what did you learn while away?" He could sense she was looking at him strangely but he frankly wasn't in the mood to worry about it.

"Also, I hope you're ready to show off what you have been practicing...I'm rather skilled with the lightsaber so this should be a good lesson for you." He was still amped up from the combat only a few minutes ago, and it showed in how he was pacing the floor while talking to his Padawan.

Rosa smiled at his suggestion, back with the diplomats was hardly where Rosa wanted to be but she couldn't say Darron was wrong, her empathy would make her perfect for that sort of job. It was what had made her so good at her job in the first place. And look what that got you, she thought before pushing that bitter little voice to one side and eating as Darron spoke. She found herself caught up in his eyes and relishing in the fact that she had him all to her self for the rest of the day.

"My mother was very attuned to peoples emotions, particularly those who were close to her, but I don't think she was force sensitive, if she was I didn't know about it." she let Darron slip into his brooding silence as she ate pondering the different emotions that flashed off him. What's going on in that head of yours Darron? she thought to herself. As he watched the younglings she found her eyes roaming him and catching herself doing it she breathed in sharply, choking on a bit of rice. Coughing she reached for her drink taking a sip to sooth the cough as her eyes watered. Smooth Rosa, real smooth.

Wiping her face and shaking her head at herself she finished her food before Darron spoke up again, though looking somewhat disappointed when he broke off. She was intrigued to know what he was going to suggest but alas, the council obviously had other plans. She didn't know whether to be nervous or excited about working with lightsabers but she nodded and waved goodbye nonetheless, her head sinking in her hands as he vanished out of sight. "Get a grip, Rosa," she told herself in a low whisper "your like a school girl with a bad crush."

Rising form the table she made her way to the library where she spent the afternoon moving books with her mind and reading and the different controls and skills of a lightsaber. by the time she left her mind was a mess of words. Rosa had never been one to learn through reading, she was first and foremost a doer or a watcher and as what she had read trickled from her mind as she made her way to the training room once more she had a feeling this was going to be a disaster.

A memory came to mind and she found herself smiling. "Not like that, Rosa. You're not paying attention to what i'm telling you." A teenage and much moodier Rosa responded with a sharpness like her mothers "Yes. I. Am." he moved towards her again to start the spar up once more. She caught his first punch and twisted it aside, before driving her own towards his gut. He stopped it inches form him with the force,. "That's cheating!" she exclaimed stepping back and folding her arms "Well if you came to the temple you could cheat to."

"I'm not discussing this with you again Dad."

"You never discuss anything with me, you just do it. Your as bad as your mother. One of these days the tow of you will kill me with your...non thinking, i'm going to do what I like when I like without thinking about the conseque-" he stopped watching her walk away. "Where are you going? We're not finished."

"Yes, we are. I have a date tonight." she raised a hand at his spluttered protests. "don't waste your breath, i'm not going to listen to you."

Rosa was snapped back to reality as she reached the training room to find half the council ready to attack Darron. Curious she slipped into the room quietly and watched from the side lines as the fight exploded in front of her. Everything was so fast, so precise and powerful and for a moment Rosa was lost in each hit, only when the last one stood ready to face Darron did she realise she had to work with this afterwards.
When he gave his curt farewell and beckoned her, she offered a shy smile and bow to the council before practically running after him. "That was incredible." she breathed as he closed the door.

She watched him remove the armour he mind suddenly becoming a mess of hormones as she tried to rearrange her thoughts, she averted her eyes finding her face flushing slightly. Think Rosa! "That this afternoon is going to hurt me more than jumping did." The joke was enough for her to recover herself and be able to look at Darron again without blushing. "There are seven... yes seven different forms of combat and I can't remember anything else. I can, however, do this." the greaves and breastplate rose from where Darron had left them, along with the chest and table that were also in the room before lowering them back down gently with the force, hoping that may take the edge off the fact that she had forgotten everything else she had read. "Study is not my strong point."

"Good job on the levitation...and sorry for what you saw. Those self righteous bas-" Darron cut himself off as he paced once more trying to get a handle on his thoughts. He hadn't enjoyed taking down four of his brother's in arms just to prove that he was ready and able to contribute to the Order he loved again. How the Order had treated him upon his return had seriously been nagging him, they had held him at arms length the entire time he had been with them, and now he was being treated like an experiment. This isn't right, it's not fair and I don't deserve all of this after all the work I put into the Order and all of the good things I have done for the galaxy.

His will wrapped around several columns lining the room as he paced, his face stone as he brooded some more. The more his mind traveled down the different path's of thought, the more his frustration manifested itself by his will wrapping around the columns and squeezing. He had no idea what he was doing until he heard durasteel bending in upon itself, that was when he realized he had crushed all of the decorative pieces on accident. Shame filled him at what he had done, but unfortunately he couldn't fix the damage right now. He had to train Rosa first, way to go there Wraith. Let's scare the hell out of her and make her think she got the unbalanced Jedi..

"I'm sorry Rosa...yes there are seven forms of lightsaber combat. I know your father showed you a few of them, he was quite skilled." Darron threw one of his sabers to her in a high arcing throw so she could catch it. "I'm a master of Form I, Form IV, Form V, and Form VII...Vaapad." He finally stopped pacing and he grabbed the other hilt on his belt, "tell me what a lightsaber is to a Jedi...and why we carry them."

Rosa watched him sadly as he paced, clearly angry about how the Council was treating him she bowed her head and let him brood wishing there was something she could do to make him feel better. The scream of durasteel under pressure made her look up again and she winced at what he had done. Then there was that apology, how many time had she heard him say it today.

Closing the gap between them she wrapped her arms around him and hugged him, emanating calm through the force. She didn't care what it did to either of them or whether the council could see it, all she knew is that he needed some to hold him and that nothing else would make him feel better. "A lightsaber is an extension of a jedi's being. It is a symbol for the peace we uphold."

Damn the council, them and their stupid rules, how they have treated me. I have gave blood, sweat, and tears for the Order that I have loved my entire life. I lost my entire fam-

His brooding was all set to continue, the monster inside his head was ready to whisper all of his doubts and fears to him. Hell he even looked forward to complaining about the Council and their multiple wrongs to himself all night long. Then Rosa went and wrapped her arms around his waist and suddenly the Council was the last thing on his mind. What was I thinking about? His mind was consumed with thoughts that weren't very becoming of a Jedi Master and he really didn't care at this point. He wrapped his arms around her and rested his head on top of hers for what seemed like eternity, he found the peace he so desperately needed.

The embrace only lasted a moment though, Darron pulled himself away even though it felt like he was tearing his soul in half. How many years had it been since he had even been hugged? Wow Wraith, you really didn't have a life before you were frozen besides killing Sith. He looked Rosa up and down before remembering that she had answered him. "Yes...and thank you." What he really wanted to say was get over here and keep on, but a simple thank you would have to suffice.

"I know you are familiar with Shii-Cho from your father, what all did he show you? You may activate your blade and demonstrate."

She felt the anger fall away from him and smiled to herself, wondering if he could feel or perhaps even hear the loud drumming of her heart. She didn't want him to let go, she could have stayed there all day but he drew away all the same and she smiled at him, trying to make sense of the emotions inside herself "Your welcome." she replied softly, before clearing her throat and allowing the force to fill her again and wash away her distractions.

"It's been a very long time since my father and I sparred, but Shii-Cho was about all I would allow him time for." She reached out to one of the training blades summoning it to her hands and activating it, remembering just how much she hated training sabers, they might not pack the powerful punch a lightsaber had but they still bloody hurt. For a moment she merely looked at the blade, her forehead creased slightly as she drew the memories of her lessons.

She wasn't sure when she started moving, only that the hum of the blade had changed when she did. she started the routine her father put here through as often as he could. She could almost hear his voice as she struck at the air. Head! Leg! Right! head! Left! Watch you back! Good Rosa! Again.
At first her strikes were clumsy, faltering, but as she moved and became used to the weight of the saber in her hand she moved better and with more confidence.

Darron watched his Padawan intently as she went through the elementary strike tree of Shii-cho, but there was a problem. Her strikes were moving much too fast for that form, it was all about controlling rhythm and Darron could see plain as day that the beautiful woman before him would be anything but slow in a fight. Although her precision with the training saber was quite pleasant for him to see, at first she had been unsure. Yet the more she swung the blade the more confident she became.

She's going to be a hell of a Jedi when this is finished, he mused to himself.

"Rosa, what can you tell me about Forms IV, and Form VI? I think those two would fit your skill set best, do you even want to have an active part in some dangerous missions? Or would you prefer to be around politicians?" He once more made sure to drop plenty of sarcasm into the word politician, even if he was being serious about what form she wanted to learn. He was just the man to help her with this query and the sooner they got her on the right path the quicker she could become the Jedi she was always meant to be.

She stopped when Darron spoke, her face slightly surprised. She had forgotten he was there, amazed at how easily it was to get lost in the flow of the force. Deactivating the blade she racked her mind for what she had read earlier in the day. "Ataru and niman, the diplomats form." she rolled her eyes at his sarcasm and looked down at the saber in her hands.

"Ataru is an aggressive form, very acrobatic if my memory serves me right. The diplomats form is a combination of all the other forms. I spent seven years as a diplomat, Darron. If I wanted to remain around politicians I would have waltzed into the senate and taken back my old job." she sighed, remembering she had already made friends with the Vice Chancellor and offered her advice when it was needed "And if you say politicians like that again I'm going to hit you." she gave him a sweet and mocking smile.

"I want to go where I'm needed." she said after another moment or two of thinking "If the Council need my help with politicians then I'll help them with politicians, if they want me on the field-" she almost said 'next to you' but caught herself and continued with "Then I'll be in the field. where do you think I would be best suited?" she asked, her eyes narrowing slightly as if daring him to say politicians in that sarcastic voice of his.

Well I need you right next to me, the voice inside his head whispered.

On the outside though, Darron just calmly looked to be listening to Rosa and considering her words very carefully. While he knew that Rosa knew he was joking about politics, he could tell she deeply had no desire to go back into that field unless necessary. "Honestly, the field with that empathy and your speed. You would be quite an asset on investigation missions, especially of the intelligence variety if you can hone that skill to where you can read objects. You would literally be able to see things most Jedi could never fathom. If you were paired with a Jedi skilled in combat and other talents to pair with your's, you would truly be an asset to the Order." He left it unsaid just that the other Jedi he was talking about was himself, maybe another time Darron.

Darron set his lightsaber hilts down on a bench as he started to circle Rosa, sizing her up with the Force. Trying to see her not for what she was, but for what she would be eventually one day. His senses wrapped around her, and he tried to keep his head clear so as not to send any inappropriate thoughts her way. With his mind attuned to her, he could see how she would progress one day, and what he saw shocked him. Gone was the uncertainty, she was fully confident, yet completely at peace. She wore her robes with a certainty of purpose that Darron never had, and her abilities where fully developed. Yes, she would be an acrobat despite her fear of heights and her speed would be her greatest physical attribute...

Well, that settles it then, he mused.

Finally retracting his senses he stopped pacing, he was five feet infront of her now and a smile crossed his face. "You're going to have to get good with your acrobatics quick. I'm going to make you into a fine practitioner of Ataru, it will compliment your skills perfectly to be quite honest." A training saber flew from the wall and into his outstretched hand, he thumbed the activation switch and with a snap-hiss a sky-blue blade was born into existence instantly. "Now attack me with Shii-Cho and I will demonstrate what you're going to start learning tonight.....Politician."

His words made Rosa smile with pride, to think she could be an asset to a Jedi was an exhilarating thought and she relished in it for a moment. If she was paired with a Jedi skilled in combat. "Like you." she said, the words falling from her mouth before she could stop and her eyes widened slightly in surprise and she cleared her throat "I mean, not you specifically, but someone killed in combat like you." she babbled, very aware that her cheeks were going pink. Shut up, Rosa!

Falling silent she looked at the floor as Darron set his hilts on the table and began to circle her. She felt him touching her with the force and looked up, her brown eyes locking with his blue and he circled her. She caught glimpses of what he was looking for and smiled, wondering if she would ever see herself in that light. When he pulled away from her though her heart sank slightly, his presence was very comforting.

"Oh goody." she replied sarcastically "More jumping from high places." her eys twinkled mischievously and she smiled. That was until he said that word again. Scowling at him she said "Least favourite." before activating the training saber once more and swiping at his left arm, then right leg before make a stab at his chest.

Rosa was on him with her deceptive speed, and the Master couldn't be more pleased as she went for his arm with her blade. Holding his blade in one hand, Darron batted away the strike to his arm and he brought it down to guard his leg. Her blade retracted and he could see her footwork perfectly shifting to allow her weight to shift forward. She's going straight for my heart, cold lady...cold. A smile crossed his face as he could see every muscle in her body lunge towards him, so Darron simply leapt over her. The Force carrying him high and above her in a high arching leap to where he landed behind her.

"Sorry."

Without hesitation he fired a slash straight for her back, saber still held in one hand. He felt the blade make contact and he could feel pain and annoyance throughout the Force from the blow. The warrior in him wanted to press his advantage but he quickly remembered this was training and instead took a few steps back from her. "You can't leave your flank exposed, you have to allow the Force to flow through you in combat. I want to take it easy on you Rosa I really do, but a Sith would have killed you where you stood over such a glaring mistake. Your speed is your asset, and the Force can help, you can't count on luck and simple stabs. Use your powers and try to maneuver, and never set yourself up to be that off balance."

He felt bad for having to be harsh, but the intensity would only ratchet up. "Come at me again, and this time try to think defense as well as offense. I'm not even trying yet."

Pain and annoyance was and understatement, she bit down a shout of pain and turned to face him, she could hear her father's voice in that lecture and she smiled to herself. Pushing the pain aside she stopped trying to think about her attack deciding the sullen silence was better hear than a sarcastic remark about him sounding like her father.

Opening herself up to the force again she let it fill her up and flow through her with each breath, each beat of her heart. It was such a beautiful thing to be part of. Feigning another stab at his chest she shifted at the last minute to swipe at his left leg before twisting up again for his left arm. This time she paid attention to his body and the way he was moving.

Rosa's silence spoke volumes and Darron could feel her bond in the Force going stronger. I wish I hadn't made her upset, but at least she is keeping her calm. I will have to remember to compliment her on that incredible control one day. He barely had time to finish his thoughts as she came in again with that blinding speed. Force knows this woman will be a handful when she learns to master this, he thought to himself. He quickly parried the stab for his chest, it was a feint. Darron barely had time to pull his leg back as he brought his blade to bear against hers. He let the two blades clash and whine for a moment, she has really beautiful eyes...

"Good Rosa! Now remember we disarm, try to avoid killing if at all possible." Darron flashed his signature smile before pressing her blade away from him and backing away for a moment to regard her in this moment. Her beauty was not just physical, it was her personality and her will to succeed that shined through at this moment. You truly are a wonder If I must say so myself..

"My turn, show me defense."

The Force flowed through Darron as he closed the distance, his blade still in one hand as he came in a high over head strike aimed at her right shoulder. He quickly feinted the blow and instead went for a stab to her left leg before spinning and coming around with a slash at her midsection.

She smiled at his compliment as he stepped back from her. "Of course." she replied her head tilting to one side as he regarded her for a moment. there was something in that look...something more than a teacher regarding his student. Her heart fluttered and then he was upon her.

Cursing inwardly for allowing herself to be distracted she moved to bring her saber up to protect her shoulder but something made her shift instead to the stab at her leg the blades cracked together fro a moment before he spun swiping for her midsection, she caught it, surprised at her speed.

Blow for blow she was there, and Darron couldn't be more proud of her. "You are doing wonderful, my padawan." The Jedi Master backed away and with his mind deactivated both training sabers and put them back on the wall. Now that they were unarmed he walked over to the corner of the room where his armor was and he started to collect his belongings all the while putting on his black undershirt. "I'm going to call it an early night Rosa, the day has been long and you have more reading to do on Ataru. That is the form you will become proficient in as I believe it gives you the best chance to succeed in the Order? Are we in agreement?"

He didn't wait for an answer as he was holding the breast plate and greaves he typically wore on missions, he looked longingly at her one more time before coming to a decision. "I can walk you to your elevator for your hall if you'd like, I could use the company." I bet you could Wraith, I bet you'd absolutely love to have her alone. The Jedi Master kicked himself at the thought, that was far from appropriate. Tonight I will meditate on this and clear my head of all this mess, she doesn't deserve her Master thinking such things.

After mentally beating himself up, he made his way to the door. "So you coming? And what did you think of today's training?"
