The entire point of the exercise, it transpired, was not to buy the planet. That would be silly. Who (apart from Omega Pyre at Malastare) would suppose that apparently worthless content like a podrace could transfer planet ownership to a faction?

But to join a planet's most profound social tradition, blatantly cheat, throw one's weight around, play chicken with the government, and then drop a truly immense starfleet overhead? Yeah. That'd do it.

Ashin smiled. "Well, say what you will, but I've got the memories of a five-hundred-year-old Jedi Master, who remembered that lot of very smart people have put more stock in that prophecy than you do. If you construct it as you do, yes, it's either a Vader reference or self-fulfilling nonsense -- but that's not the only way to understand it, and I've had presentiments of my own. There are more things in heaven and in earth than are dreamt of in your philosophy, as someone said once. I don't believe the Je'daii have all the answers, or the potential to get them, but I do believe they're necessary. Maybe even necessary for the universe, who knows."

She couldn’t help but smile. Spencer shook her head once more and laughed. Both her lover and her student seemed to believe different aspects and in weird ways both agreed with her and stated their opinions. Either way, Spencer was starting to wonder if Ashin was right. Qae was correct about how nature balanced its self, but at times it created a catalyst to help ignite it. Clinging onto Ashin, she guided the woman and Qae towards the press boxes to grab something to eat at least and possibly discuss things a bit more in private.

“If I am a part of this prophecy and I am for some reason a Chosen One…I hope I can fulfill whatever role the Force has chosen for me. Whatever it is, I know I’ll have help along the way. It’s just odd to even begin to think of myself with any sort of importance.”

Pausing she shrugged.

“I’m just a silly girl from Dathomir.”

"A silly girl from Dathomir that became Queen, General, consort to an Empress and one of the greatest Force-users of the modern era," Qae said, grinning slightly. "Not to blow your ego up, but if you were just a 'silly girl from Dathomir', Dathomir being a backwards planet, then you'd not be who you are. You're Spencer Jacobs... nothing more, nothing less."

Of course, if she was the Chosen One, Qae wouldn't be so far removed as to believe said silly girl could be that one. The concept of balance was one very much eschewed these days. He could never do it.

"I just prefer maintaining my own inner balance. That's enough for me. I'm not a soldier or a prophet or whatever. I just... float around the stars and do the right thing."
