Faction Absolutely Girls Allowed!

Braze quietly entered the empty meditation chamber, his mind buzzing with excitement. It was the perfect time for his grand project. He began gathering meditation cushions and blankets, stacking them to form the walls of an impressive pillow fort. Using wooden bo staffs as supports, he draped sheets overhead to create towering ceilings and spacious rooms.

In no time, his fort stood magnificently in the center of the chamber—a labyrinth of cozy nooks and secret passages. Grinning with satisfaction, Braze felt a surge of pride at his 'little' creation. But there was one final touch needed. He grabbed a piece of flimsi and scribbled a message in bold letters.

Stepping outside, he taped the sign firmly to the door leading into the room:

"Absolutely NO Girls Allowed!"

With a chuckle, Braze slipped back into his impenetrable fortress.

Satisfied with the placement of his sign, Braze turned his attention to arranging the snacks. He gently set a triple-colocate tripple-layered chocolate Black Forest cake at the center of the table, its rich layers of moist chocolate sponge interlaced with dark cherries and fresh whipped cream, all dusted with a fine layer of cocoa powder. Surrounding the cake, he placed platters of Nutella and strawberry sandwiches, the sweet hazelnut spread and ripe berries nestled between slices of soft, crustless bread. A dish of glistening Jaffa cakes added a touch of citrus and chocolate.

He then laid out a fine spread of various meats and cheeses: thinly sliced prosciutto, savory salami, and delicate smoked ham accompanied by wedges of creamy Brie, sharp cheddar, and tangy blue cheese. Small bowls brimming with golden honeys and vibrant jams—clover honey, raspberry preserves, and apricot marmalade—were set alongside, ready to complement the assortment of breads and crackers.

Setting out an elegant kettle, Braze began brewing the most wonderfully fragrant and sweet herbal tea. The soothing scents of lemon, elderberry, chamomile, lavender, and a hint of mint wafted through the air, intertwining with the delectable aromas of the feast. He turned on some soft, somber chamber music, the gentle strings and notes filling the space with a relaxing ambiance. The environment transformed into a cozy haven, every detail thoughtfully arranged to make anyone who entered feel utterly at ease and welcomed.

Roman stood at the edge of the meditation chamber, a peculiar note clutched in his hand. It was hastily scribbled, with irregular letters forming a playful invitation to a secret gathering. "Join me in my fort!" it proclaimed, and beneath, these few words caught him off guard: "NO Girls Allowed!" He raised an eyebrow, intrigued and slightly bemused.

"Who on earth..." he murmured to himself, shaking his head with a smile. Curiosity tugged at him, and he followed the directions scrawled on the note as he navigated through the winding halls of the quiet temple.

As he stepped through the door of the chamber, he was greeted by a whimsical sight. Before him loomed the magnificent pillow fort, towering and sprawling, like a plush kingdom carved out of meditation cushions and strewn blankets. The rich aroma of chocolate cake and herbs wafted through the air, wrapping around him in a cozy embrace.

"Anyone here?" he called out, his voice resonating softly in the serene space. He listened intently, but the only answer was the gentle hum of chamber music, a soothing backdrop to the feast laid out in the fort's sunny center. "Hello?" he tried again, wondering if his friend was brave enough to venture beyond his own fortress walls.

With a grin creeping onto his face, Roman stepped further into the enchanting labyrinth, peeking into the cozy nooks adorned with snacks that would make anyone's mouth water. He felt a wave of warmth at the hosts effort, and despite the strange "no girls allowed" proclamation at the entrance, he couldn't help but feel welcomed by the spirit of the place.

Stretching as she walked through the halls, Casaana closed her eyes and let out a yawn as the door to the meditation chamber slid open for her. Inside, the sensational aromas mingling with the subdued music brought her up short as her eyes flicked from Braze and his spread of delicacies to the meditation cushion fort over to Roman. Idly scratching at her lower rib with her thumb through her casual robes, Casaana decided it was still too early for her to bother sorting through whatever this was and decided it would be far simpler to join in. Besides, she wasn't going to interrupt such an obviously well thought out repast.

Moving in next to the other two, she kneeled to the ground before sprawling into a crossed-legged sit. Leaning forward to snag a sandwich, Casaana also took an empty cup and helped herself to some tea as well. "I like this Braze, you always have the best ideas." It was a blatant lie, hers were always far better, but it was important to compliment others. Still waking up, she nodded to herself and took a large bite of the sandwich half.

Braze peeked out from behind the cushion fort, squinting suspiciously at Roman before a broad grin broke across his face. "Oh... hello. I don't think we've met yet. I'm Braze," he chirped, his voice light and welcoming, though his gaze flicked briefly to his meticulously arranged snacks. All seemed calm until—gasp!—his eyes widened in horror as Casaana strolled in without a care in the galaxy.

The abject horror!

A girl had just entered his carefully crafted, boys-only haven! Couldn't she read? The sign was in plain, bold red!

Braze's hand shot up to his forehead in an exaggerated gesture, as if to shield himself from this egregious violation of his sacred space. His eyes darted toward the snacks she was so boldly helping herself to, like a thief in broad daylight.

"This…" he stammered, nearly breathless, "this simply won't do! My sanctuary! My snacks!"

Braze glanced over the cushion fort as Casaana strolled in, casually grabbing a sandwich like she owned the place. His jade-green eyes widened in exaggerated surprise. "Excuse me," he said, pressing a hand to his chest as though she had just stolen his soul, "but this was a sacred boys-only zone, clearly marked for authorized snackers only." He motioned toward the assortment of food with mock indignation.

"I like this Braze, you always have the best ideas."

Braze pretended to mull it over, tapping his chin. "Hmm. A fair point," he admitted. "I guess we can allow this breach... just this once. You are after all a Tomboy aren't you?"

Roman, leaning casually against the wall, took a moment to observe the unfolding drama with a grin. He couldn't help but chuckle softly as Casaana, ever the added chaos, waltzed right into Braze's carefully curated fortress of snacks. With a playful flick of his fingers, he snagged a few of the sandwiches from the table, indulging in the delightful spread as he introduced himself to Braze.

"Nice to meet you, Braze. I'm Roman," he said, savoring a bite of a sandwich that tasted far more glorious than it had any right to. The contrast between Braze's exaggerated dismay and Casaana's carefree demeanor was a comedic masterpiece.

"Judging by the look on your face, it seems like your definition of 'boys-only' might need a little revision," Roman quipped, glancing knowingly at Casaana as she single-handedly redefined the sanctity of the snack territory.

He waved at the cushions, adding, "Besides, what's a little fun without a little chaos? I think your 'sanctuary' just found a new member."

Watching the two interact, Roman couldn't help but be entertained by how well Braze was handling this unexpected twist. There was camaraderie nestled within the absurdity, and he found himself grinning wider, wrapping the moment in a lighthearted charm that only bolstered the morning's unpredictable energy.

Boys only, Tomboy? Whaaat? Casaana had winced as Braze's shrill whining pierced her ears, but he'd quickly settled down thanks to her masterful diplomacy. Roman got a nod of appreciation as he stepped in to back her up despite this nonsense about a sign. The two had fought alongside each other on the moon of Tython, then she'd found out he was engaged and her little teenage crush had been quashed before it'd even really gotten started. Not that she blamed him, who got engaged at their age? It had to have been arranged by someone.

Rather than sort out all the confused going-ons in her tired mind, Casaana just nodded once and agreed with a general statement to all of it, "Right." She said it with a confidence that should settle things in their current 'going her way' state. "Also heya Roman," She twisted around to look up at him with a tired smile. "Sorry, I'm still waking up. They had me up until five interpreting and plotting comm intercepts." She yawned again and turned back to snag a piece of meat through the force before dipping it into something. She wanted to bring up that a droid could have done it, but that would have been whining and she knew it was something she needed to learn to do herself. Folding the prosciutto over, she fed it into her mouth as the cup of tea warmed her other hand.

"Judging by the look on your face, it seems like your definition of 'boys-only' might need a little revision,"

Braze squinted slightly, clearly very pleased with his own logic as he repeated with a firm nod, "Nah, nah, nah... Tomboys aren't girls."

He leaned forward, his voice laced with a mischievous certainty as he explained, "See, I'm sure tomboys have their own secret boy stuff. Like, stuff they talk about with us that we'd never even think of mentioning around actual girls." He glanced at Casaana, a teasing smirk on his face. "It's totally different. Tomboys are like... honorary boys, y'know?"

His nod turned into an exaggerated gesture, as if that settled the matter completely. "There's no way they'd ever tell real girls all the cool stuff we talk about in here. Top secret."

He flashed a playful grin, clearly enjoying his declaration as if it were some universal truth that could never be challenged.

"Ya know things like what girls are actually cute and what ones are only kinda cute. And which ones try way too hard yaknow? Like Corazona von Ascania Corazona von Ascania . So how about it Roman? Who do you think is supper cute? "

Roman chuckled softly at Braze's wild assertions about tomboys, glancing sideways at Casaana to see if her expression shifted at the label "honorary boy." Though she seemed unbothered, he couldn't help but feel the warmth of camaraderie in the moment. As Braze rambled on, it slowly became clearer why the boy was so eager for a boys-only gathering -- the pure delight of gossiping without the nagging fear of secrets slipping beyond their little circle. Boys were strange creatures indeed, and today, under the hum of fluorescent lights, they seemed more curious than ever.

Roman let the silence linger after Braze had dropped the question, casting a thoughtful gaze into the distance as the memory of his clear affection for Anneliese Kaohal Anneliese Kaohal danced in his mind. She had a laugh that was music to his ears and a brightness that could lighten even the darkest corners of the moon's surface. Feeling the heat rising to his cheeks, he shifted in his seat, trying to deflect the spotlight that hovered closer than he liked.

"Well, I'm quite partial to Anneliese," he admitted, his voice steady but tinged with a hint of embarrassment. Turning quickly to Casaana, perhaps to shift the focus, he added, "What about you, Casaana? Who do you think is super cute?" He shot her a playful grin mimicking Braze's tone of voice, hoping to lighten the mood and encourage some good-natured banter.

Was Braze implying she wasn't a real girl? Or just that boys didn't gossip as much as girls, because boys were way worse for it! They just called it something else, like bragging or spreading the word. And now he wanted to know who she thought was cute? Casaana sighed and had some more of her tea while the boys named names. She didn't know Corazona and of course Roman named his betrothed. Sworn secrecy or no, he wouldn't name anyone else.

"I think Tuli Tuli is a cutie, really makes you want to scoop her up and snuggle." She admitted speaking of the Chadra Fan she'd seen around a few times, but unfortunately hadn't done more than greet in passing. Which made Casaana wish they had, it seemed like they had a lot in common.

"Of course you shouldn't do that with any sentient, made that mistake with a Kushiban. But how could I know until he started yelling? They don't wear clothes." Shaking her head at the memory of young Casaana, she tried to think of where to take the conversation next. "Lets see.... Least favorite Force power to practice? Mine's the mind stuff like tricks. Just seems creepy and I don't like touching other minds, they're strange." She shrugged. "Animals are okay though." Talking about cute people seemed more like a girl activity than Braze had seemed to want before he brought it up; aaand this was a tea party. She rolled her eyes as her tired mind figured out what was going on. Maybe she should have asked him which guy was cute. But she didn't want to answer that either.

Braze had a confused look as he stated, Anneliese Kaohal Anneliese Kaohal . He cocked his head to one side, eyeing Roman carefully, then frowned. He could've sworn these two looked like they might have been brother and sister with hair like he had. Wasn't Anneliese that redheaded girl from Endor? He was certain she was. "She's a fiery red head isn't she?" Braze asked thinking of Teresa Zambrano | Darth Pellax Teresa Zambrano | Darth Pellax ' s retainer Komi who might also fit such a description.

" Tuli Tuli ? What's a Tuli?" Braze asked, unfamiliar with that person. Perhaps his time out in the Outer Rim territories had made it harder for him to recognize the up-and-comers making names for themselves.

Braze didn't seem to catch the desire to change the subject as he turned to Casaana Casaana directly. "No, no, no... not just 'cute'. I mean 'cute cute.' Like, who do you have a crush on?" he asked with a devious grin. "It's okay if you don't have any crushes yet," Braze added before glancing back at Roman.

He didn't know either of these two very well, so he wasn't sure what topics were safe to broach—or to what degree.

Roman relaxed back against the pillows that made up their makeshift fort, a cozy sanctuary away from the prying eyes of the larger galaxy. The warm light filtering in through the makeshift walls of blankets cast a soft glow over the trio, but despite the comfort, his mind was attentive, aware of the dynamics in play.

He couldn't help but chuckle softly at the way Braze enthusiastically pried into Casaana's thoughts on crushes. As he lounged, his long hair spilling over the edge of a cushion, he felt both a touch protective and curious about Casaana's discomfort.

"Come on, Braze," Roman said, a slight smirk playing on his lips as he glanced between Casaana and his friend. "You know it's not all that simple. Everyone pulls a little back when it comes to crushes." He cast a reassuring smile at Casaana, nodding when she expressed her hesitations about naming anyone. There was a distinct line between casual admiration and gnawing crushes, and he understood the sensitivity surrounding it.

"Still," he continued, shifting the focus a bit, "if we're playing this game, it's only fair to ask you, Braze. Who do you think is 'cute cute'? You keep asking, yet you haven't revealed your own secret crush." He arched an eyebrow, teasing a bit as he leaned forward with genuine curiosity.

He leaned in closer, a playful glint in his eye, "Could it be Knight Ascania?"

Roman hoped this would ease the scrutiny off Casaana while adding a fun element to their conversation. It could be amusing to see Braze squirm, but more importantly, they all had to remember it was just a tea party in a makeshift bunker--though one full of friendly teasing and innocent secrets shared between friends.

While Braze was running his mouth, Casaana pulled a pillow into her lap to crush an arm around, and (not glare!) stare intently at him hoping he could get a clue. But then Roman came to her defense and she gave him a smile of thanks and loosened up a little after running a quick mind exercise to calm her emotions and not broadcast her insecurities out to the others. She'd faced down pirates without batting an eye, fought Imperial forces and their Sith beasts, somehow it didn't seem fair that this was what got to her the most.

"It's Looomi." Casaana sang out in response to Roman's question to Braze, suddenly knowing it was true as she said it. Fixing her voice in an overly manly and wind-swept imitation of Braze's, she continued. "I'm here for you if you need me. As we search Ilum for the kyber crystals that will become the heart of our lightsabers. I've tried and failed twice before, but with you let's not worry about the future but embrace the moment. Now let us search the caves with our own hearts of kyber, together." Finishing the breathy rendition, Casaana clasped her hands and fluttered her eyelashes like a particularly besotted drama actor.

"You should have seen them." She continued in her normal voice. "The whole trip back they were making eyes and trying not to blush." There. That'll learn him not to be a jerk. Pressing her and then acting like it was all fine. Though she did feel a little guilty. Hopefully Roman was more interested in the gossip than her lashing back. He seemed to understand at least. He hadn't made her feel bad upon discovering her own, just forming, feelings at Tython.

He leaned in closer, a playful glint in his eye, "Could it be Knight Ascania?"

Braze was happily gathering macaroons and a cup of tea to join them in the fort when his ears perked up. He practically bristled.

"Uck. No! I do not have a crush on someone as un-cute as Corazona von Ascania Corazona von Ascania . She's like my sister! I'm totally not into older women anyway. Do I look like Ko Vuto Ko Vuto ?"

He huffed, taking a sip of his tea before nearly snarfing it as he heard what came next. A small wave of panic washed over his jade-green eyes upon hearing the little rendition. Gasping for air, coughing briefly, he patted his chest hard and cleared his throat.
"It's Looomi." ."I'm here for you if you need me. As we search Ilum for the kyber crystals that will become the heart of our lightsabers. "The whole trip back they were making eyes and trying not to blush."

"Hey! You don't know what happened down in those caves! Besides, Loomi is my best friend," he huffed again. Though, it was undeniable—he did like Loomi, but he was uncertain where their relationship even stood. He knew she liked him too, but he wasn't completely sure if it was in the same way. He'd never had a girlfriend or a boyfriend before, so he didn't really know what made an official relationship so special, let alone whatmade an offical relationship at all.

"There's lots of girls I think are pretty cute. Loomi Loomi is adorably cute. Zaiya Ceti Zaiya Ceti , Aliris Tremiru Aliris Tremiru , Komi, and Uki are all pretty cute too. If Eloise Dinn Eloise Dinn wasn't so sour I might even say her but I think additude has a lot to do with weather or not a girl is 'cute' ya know?" Braze, however, didn't mention any of his secret crushes on boys—that list was much longer and something he wasn't quite ready to explore or discuss just yet.

"Ah, the infamous caves of Ilum!" Roman teased, his voice light and playful. "What happens in the caves, stays in the caves, huh? But you can't blame us for wondering. Were you both hunting for kyber crystals or simply losing yourselves in the moment? I mean, the way you described those eyes--" he winked, enjoying every second of this friendly banter.

As Braze sputtered in indignation, Roman laughed heartily and continued, "But seriously, Casaana here seems like she'd be the perfect wingmate. I'm sure she can put in a good word for you with all those cute cute girls you've got a crush on. Aliris and Zaiya, huh? I can see why you'd be flustered. You've got quite the lineup!"

Poking Braze playfully on the shoulder, Roman's expression softened into one of camaraderie. "Don't worry, friend. You could do worse than have a little cave adventure with Loomi. And who knows where it might lead?" He leaned forward slightly, eyes sparkling with mischief. "Now that we've exhausted your crushes, what else do you want to gossip about? I'm all ears!"

Not wanting to press the issue and pique Braze like he had her, Casaana let it drop. "I'd ask why I'm not on the cute list, but I guess I am just a Tomboy after all?" She asked rhetorically with a sly smile. Nah, Braze would probably put her on the 'sour list' after this because, "Yeah, personality has a lot to do with how I see someone. Also why I'm not going to wingmate for anyone outside a fighter," she shook her head, "just seems like an invitation to a lot of drama I don't need."

Drama and things she was supposed to avoid since she was trying to be more mature, more Jedi like. She couldn't be a rambunctious little one with dreams of being a pirate queen stealing other's lightsabers anymore. "Loomi is nice though," she conceded, thinking that the two would make a smart match together. Going for more tea and spread, she waited to see what Braze would do or say next. She'd already tried to alter the course of the conversation and didn't want to tray and force it a second time.

"No, it wasn't like that," Braze replied, his tone flat, though a hint of irritation crept in. "It was more like... I almost died." The memory stirred a mix of complicated emotions, and he bristled slightly, clearly unsettled by the recollection.

He paused, perking up at something Casanna said next. His pale, somber jade-green eyes studied her intently for a long moment, an attentive and thoughtful gaze before finally meeting her eyes again.

. "I'd ask why I'm not on the cute list, but I guess I am just a Tomboy after all?"

"Would you like to know my personal opinion—and why—from an honest perspective?" Braze asked, his voice cautious, unsure if she truly wanted to hear it. He figured it might be rude, but honesty was something he valued, even if it was uninvited or unwelcome. As he nibbled on his macaron, he mulled over his thoughts about Casanna. Whether or not she cared about his opinion was another matter entirely. After all, opinions could vary wildly, and taste was personal.

Roman watched the conversation shift between his friends, a keen eye on Braze as the topic of Loomi seemed to tighten the atmosphere like a noose. Sensing the weight settling on Casaana's shoulders, he decided to lighten the mood. Shifting his playful banter, he leaned closer to Braze, a smirk playing on his lips.

"Alright, alright, enough about the caves and all that," Roman said, raising his hands in mock surrender. "How about I go first? I want to know what you think of me instead, Braze." His eyes sparkled with mischief, the teasing tone unmistakable. "I mean, come on. I must be terribly full of myself, right? Maybe it's time someone knocked me down a peg or two!"

His laughter echoed, a genuine attempt to break through Braze's discomfort while redirecting the spotlight away from Casaana. "So, hit me with it! What's your honest opinion?" He grinned, eager for whatever playful or brutally truthful insight his friend would offer, confident it would diffuse the tension swirling around them.

No, Casaana would not like to know his opinion of her because it would likely confirm her opinion of herself. That she'd been a bratty loner child that didn't like to apply herself and wasn't much nicer now as a teen while forming barely any meaningful relationships. And since she'd stopped playing dress-up, she hadn't cared too much about her appearance either. As her long-sleeved knit shirt, surplus pants, cropped hair, and lack of makeup attested. Other than her Jedi uniforms, the nicest clothes she had were a gift she only wore on special occasions.

Instead she let it pass with a shake of her head, wondering if she could beg off still being too tired if braze did start in. Then Roman spoke up, trying to cover for her and draw attention. She knocked his arm with the back of her hand from where she sat next to him, cushion still in her lap. "You are not Roman, as anyone who knew you for five minutes could tell. It's not your fault you've got the genes of a Pamarthen Lion." She could hear the playful mischief in his voice and tried to match it, only falling a little short.

Braze sensed something was off with Casanna. She hadn't answered him, and he figured it might be a touchy subject for her.
"So, hit me with it! What's your honest opinion?"

He shifted his gaze to Roman, looking him over with an intense, unabashed stare that lingered.

"Well... Mr. Lion," Braze began, his tone thoughtful as he followed Casanna's observations.

"You have many traits I'm drawn to—conventionally attractive ones, I mean. Long hair, pale eyes, that vibrant hair color, your height, your trim and fit build. I could go on about the physical things I find appealing... but here's the thing: I still don't really know you. What I do know, though, is that you hold back a lot. You keep people at a distance with perfectly practiced pleasantries. It's like you're presenting this picture-perfect facade, and I can't stand people who seem 'too perfect.' They come across as subtly arrogant, and that repels me. It makes me wonder what else they're hiding, and I doubt they'd fulfill the needs or expectations I have for a potential partner."

Braze gave a teasing smirk, his tone shifting as he added, "Besides... you're far too old for me, anyway."
