DESCRIPTION
The ACS-804 Binary Fusion Ion Cannon was built by ArmaTech as an Ion variant of the Hypervelocity Cannon, based off the same principles of the HVs-2 Hypervelocity Cannon and the HR-IO4 Ion Railgun in an interesting combination. The weapon matches the HVs-2 Hypervelocity Cannon in Rate of Fire, Range, Firepower, and size. The weapon fires twenty contained bolts of Ionized plasma particles in short, ten second intervals before requiring fifty seconds of recharge and refresh time for the weapons to accelerator rails to cool, and additional plasma to be ionized.
The first part of the weapon, the Capacitor system, is constructed similar to a V-150 Planetary Ion Cannon. The system uses an Electric arc coupler, siphoning power through a binary fusion chamber, ionizing the plasma particles and causing the electromagnetic rails to begin to spin. This is where the weapon gets its name, using a binary fusion reactor to charge the particles rather than conventional Ion cannon components. It allows the particles to retain their coherency longer and increases the size and range of the shot compared to standard Ion cannons. The ionized plasma is then ran through an Ion Accu-Accelerator band, forming the containment sphere around the charge, and shielding the electromagnetic rails from the powerful ionized field it projects. Finally the ionized plasma projectile is super-accelerated through the barrel of the weapon and launched at its target.
The Ionized Plasma is known for being similar to an Ion Cannon in its destructive abilities, simply on a much larger scale. The ion particles are more disruptive to shields, draining their power more quickly than standard energy blasts or slugs, while reducing the particles ability to damage starship hulls extensively despite the weapon's size. As a side effect of the ionized particles impacted the hull of a ship, the ship can suffer from localized power shutdowns (like flipping a circuit breaker), damage the conductivity of wiring in the impacted area, causes electrical power fluctuations, and even cause static to be caught by local sensors and targeting computers for a short time. While it can disrupt ship functions on a target, most ships are more than capable of restoring power after a few moments, however the temporary power outages do disrupt its fighting ability.

- Electronic Disturbance: Ionized plasma causes electrical disturbances, disrupting local sensors for brief periods, destroys wiring conductivity, and is able to cause localized power shutdowns.
- Hull Damage: The Binary Fusion Ion Cannon causes little damage to ship hulls, and when it does it is localized, surface damage. Ships designed to handle Ion weaponry are even less effected.
