Act I: Sands of Time

MAIN GROUPE~~~~~~~

Kaine chuckled heavily at the venomous banter between Tyrin, Circe, and Jared. It was all quite humorous to say the least in context to their current predicament, and the possible magnitude of their situation. "I would prefer the future not unravel due to the Vinithi's meddling, so if she continues someone murder her. I won't have my own existence jeopardized." He said with a pretentious snort as he turned away from Circe and Jared to speak with Tyrin. "Our current predicament is dire without her foolish schemes." He whispered silently, "We are old comrades, you and I. I presume that we are allies in this strange world, and if Savan continues to try to mess with the timeline, I propose we put her down for the sake of us both." He said in his hushed whisper once more, casting a wary glance to all those assembled before eyeing the Queen curiously.

"Lead on, my Queen. We shall protect you." So long as the Queen and King continued to benefit Kaine's own survivalist needs, then they were useful. When that usefulness came to an end, well... Kaine didn't know what he would do. It was all quite tricky, this time traveling business, and he knew that he shouldn't murder them as it could unravel space and time. He would put up with them for now... but his patience was running thin.

Akala had panicked, and was found next to the Sith when the dust settled. Protected by their shielding from the sand tsunami, the little girl turned back to her mother.

"I'm fine, I'm fine!"

She scoffed, obviously trying to act like an adult among the other adults.

"What *was* that?"

Tyrin's eyes flickered over to the fetching woman who had egged him on. At least someone was agreeable with his resolve to end Circe's meddling before it got worse. Unlike Vorhi, who again had to suck all the fun out of the situation by being reasonable. Not long ago Tyrin would have declared it to be a cold day in hell when a homeless scholar so far down the Confederate chain of command could order him around. Yet, there he was, malevolent sneer turning into a disappointed frown as he tore his gaze away from Circe and to Vorhi.

Still, even with Vorhi's suit for peace, Tyrin wouldn't back down that easily. "This monstrosity's death would be entirely inconsequential. It would do more to safeguard the future than doom it."

Tyrin turned away from Vorhi once again when Circe resumed her blithering, pointing at the meteor that had just landed. Approach it? Was she insane? Anything that had just traveled through the atmosphere at such large speeds would be incredibly hot. It would be unapproachable for days until it fully cooled down. If Circe's plant form were to get anywhere near it, she would burst into flames. The rest of this lot would probably scald themselves. Actually, it was probably best to let Circe headbutt the meteorite. Queen Naala was urging the lot of them to follow her to the palace.

A moment before Tyrin could tender his rebuttal, another man showed up that he had never seen before. He proceeded to re-educate Circe in regards to exactly what a temporal paradox was. Frankly, Tyrin had no idea. He was a governor, not some quantum engineer. Was that even what they called it? Irrelevant. Tyrin took that pause to sulk away. He would, no doubt, have to deal with her later. Kaine approached and subsequently made his stance on the situation very clear. Oh, it always felt good when the odds were stacked in one's favor.

"Agreed. Doubt I could've put it better myself." Tyrin muttered in response, following his old comrade over to the Queen. Protect. Right.

The sand beyond the main group stirred. A titanic arm, glistening white as if diamonds glittering in the sunlight, reached out from the fiery sands. An enormous gauntlet, a hundred times the size of an ordinary human's hand, erupted from the sands and gripped into the soil. A plume of smoke erupted from the site of the crash.
A groan echoed through the dune sea, obviously emanating from something quite... large.

One of the people around them spoke of what information could become. prophecy, dogma, law, removed from existence entirely. Satara inhaled deeply. Information was a powerful weapon. And if it for any reason harmed her planet and its future, she knew she would find herself forgetting her personal vows and allegiance to the light and Allya. Dathomir and its future were far too important to her.

Her attention turned briefly to the Queen, who insisted on them going back to the King. "It's the best course of action," the Witch merely commented. It seemed the answers were best sought with King Oa at this point.

Then there was something about something called the temporal paradox. Satara looked back at the green one. That made no sense. "Everything had its repercussions. Every action has its reaction." The green one talked about something else too though. Celestial overloads? Satara frowned. What was she talking about now? Celestial? Overloads? No such thing. Before Satara actually went as far to ask about it, a stranger suddenly spoke. She didn't remember seeing him before. He seemed to be focused on this temporal paradox thing. It all sounded far too foreign to her.

Satara was just about done with the whole idea, ready to follow the Queen when the loud groan reached her ears. She turned quickly, only to see smoke in the distance. All the trouble with the sand wave and the green skinned girl, Satara had admittedly not been paying attention to what was in the distance. But now the smoke and something sparkling. Were those diamonds? "Allya, proteggere noi," she suddenly said quietly before adding in Basic: "What is that?"

(proteggere noi - protect us)

A tremor shook the ground, coming from the crater. The Queen waded to the riverbank and pulled herself up. She tried to peer at just what it was that had crashed.
"You two, stay with Akala, the rest come with me," she said. She ordered @[member="Satara Hawk"] and @[member="Alexandra Cinthra"] to stay with her daughter, and asked the more martial strangers to come with her.

Alexandra nodded, her eyes remaining on @[member="Darth Vornskr"] for a few moments, she felt like he was familiar but different and strange all at the same time, shaking her head she switched her eyesight to @[member="Gerion Ardik"], knowing him atleast. "Good luck facing what ever that thing is that fell my former leader, may the force aid you." Alexandra turned and walked to @[member="Young Akala"], taking both sabers in hand and kneeling, waving over @[member="Tamara"] as well. "You two, stay with me and dont go far, we dont need you two getting caught in something and hurt. Ok?" She would make sure these two didnt leave her sight, it was imperative that she protect these two, especially Akala, something was interesting and important about her. Her last words went to the queen, as her eyes were brought to her. "Be careful your highness, leaving your child without a mother is a hard thing to handle, do not put yourself in danger for her sake." @[member="Queen Naala"]

Sandstorms, meteorites crashing, powerful tremors shaking the ground. While still annoyed at the lack of violence, the Queen being cryptic and not very useful and the lack of a processing device, Moira was quite content with something happening. It was obvious that this was the dramatic build-up to something...dramatic. Doubtless violence would be included. Ergo it would make sense to tag along. Mind you, not because Moira was heroic or cared about anyone except herself and her place in the timeline. The organics were just useful to her.

"How dramatic and coincidental," she said flatly, not particularly caring about the Queen, as she peered at whatever had just crashed from above. Her clothes were wet from having leapt into the river, but her weapons were still there. Perhaps she would get the chance to crush something. At least she was no longer bored. As for quantum mechanics, those were quite interesting, as was quantum tunneling in general. More processing power needed to devoted to researching it.

"I don't have to intentionally come back to the past in order to cause a change that would stop me from coming to the past and making the change that altered my timeline to begin with. If I unknowingly stepped on a worm in the sand whose descendents would one day evolve into a creature that had saved my life before i ended up traveling back in time, that creature wouldn't exist, and I'd be dead. As such, I wouldn't get sent back in time and accidentally kill the worm due to my being dead. I would have had no intentions of causing a paradox, and yet it would still occur. Your attempt at being rude is quote visible, Jared Ovmar. Then again, you never could take my jokes well, could you?"

Pausing, she looked over each person stuck in the past who had insisted on her extermination before turning back to look at the giant Celestial being. In her hand was one thing - a small device with a swirling white vortex in the middle. It was the hyperspace stabilizer, tested at the Dasid Anya maze, the item that had likely gotten her into this mess to begin with. "I'm going back to where I came from. If you want to be stuck in the past with a six hundred foot tall armored behemoth who's about to crush you, while driving away someone who's willing to help you kill, subdue, or even talk to the creature, then you go right ahead. I'll be safe and sound with the foreknowledge of what happens here being utterly meaningless to the timestream as a whole." With a soft sigh, she turned, looking at the queen and her daughter. "I'm sorry, Madame Queen. I just can't do this anymore. Not with people like this threatening to kill me simply for telling you your predestined plan. As well, I'm also sorry to you, Akala. I can only hope that you have a better life than what I have to suffer through." With that, she initiated the device.

A whitish shimmer began to surround Circe. After several seconds of cheesy, 1980s Star Trek transporter-looking special effects, she was gone, back where she belonged. She recognized quite well that the planet was Dathomir, and looked forward to taking a trip there soon.

The sudden command had come as a surprise to Satara but she could respect authority of this time. And that was in the hands of this queen and her husband. She understood and accepted. "Yes, your Majesty," the Witch merely said and walked closer to @[member="Young Akala"], giving the tiniest of smile to the girl before looking up at @[member="Alexandra Cinthra"], giving a small nod.

"My name is Satara," she said then, glancing down at the Princess before looking back at Alexandra. While she might have been curious to know what it was the rest of the group had gone to investigate, the protection of this girl had been entrusted to her and Satara took such tasks seriously.

Main group @[member="Queen Naala"]

Meteor's, giant hands, ominous chanting. Nope. Nothing forboding in all of this. Nothing at all. Honestly, Vorhi was in a slight bit of pain. All the force energy. Tons of it. Whole damn was bright and shiny. It was...unpleasant for the Miralukan. He would have squinted, had he had eyelids. Of course, if he had normal vision none of this would matter. Still, all of this was clearly madness. Things were going askew. Very askew. He had three grenades left. He did not want to use them.

Circe vanished before he could explain that her existence wasn't the only one she could alter by being a fool, that they could all have some immunity until they came back to their own world. He sighed. "Well, I suppose that's for the best," he mumbled calmly as he walked forward, following her majesty. "The little one didn't seem to like me much, which is strange. Normally, children seem to actually enjoy my company," he mused out loud, putting his hands behind his back, as he followed the company of unlikely colleagues. Jedi, Sith, Whackjob, the whole kit and kaboodle. Caboodle? One wonders at the spelling, I'd suppose. But Vorhi did not wonder, he merely followed the queen and sighed. "So then, His Highness Oa's a scholar as well as a king, I take it? Good. We'll talk to him in due time," he said calmly, the blind man follow as he looked over at Gerion. "It appears things have gone poorly. I wonder if this will be the next exhibit."

The large groan that echoed across the sand sounded like that of a beast of great size. He knew that it couldn't be friendly, but his curiousity got the better of him. He moved out towards the rising smoke cloud. As he neared, the Echoes became restless, and the warned him of the possible dangers ahead.

We aren't safe here...We must go back...I do not see this going well for Us...

We must find out what it is. It is our duty to learn the dangers, we are the first line of defense for the young princess. @[member="Young Akala"].

A diamond-skinned titan of a man, several stories tall, erupted from the sands clutching his chest. His eyes glowed blue, shimmering as if adorned with a thousand stars. He roared, stumbling out of the dunes, sand falling from him like a waterfall.
He took several steps forward and collapsed to his knees with a thunderous boom, shaking the earth. He looked up to stare at the Main Group several yards away.
A silvery substance poured from his chest between his fingers, dripping to the ground in gigantic globs.
He spoke. His voice sounded like the echoing of tectonic plates grinding against each other, and your ears were trapped between them.
"I....require...a medical facility."
He fell to the ground from his knees, still clutching his chest and groaning. He looked up once more to view the Main Group.
"Why....are you here?"

LOCATION: THRONE ROOM - CITY OF LUMINOTH
ACT I Villains Present: @King Oa, @[member="Queen Naala"], @[member="The Architect"]
Your ears pop. The bright light of the desert sun dissipates and your eyes begin to painfully adjust to the darkness.
You feel weak in the knees and wish to sit down. You've felt this feeling before - you've just been warped. Or teleported. Or time-traveled. Whatever it is, it's the same thing that happened last time.
The Main Group, all of you, appear opposite King Oa, Queen Naala, and the giant creature from the desert - it appears you're in the throne room of Luminoth, seat of the capital of the Kwa Holdings Empire.
It is night time, and there are no guards to be found.
The giant seems to have recovered from whatever wound he had suffered and stands tall - though his head scrapes the ceiling - within the throne and it looks like you have interrupted a discussion between the three of them.

And suddenly…the throne room. It was familiar to Tamara. Only a ‘few hours ago’ she’d been there. Now she was along for the ride in this strange rollercoaster ride that was jumping forward in time.
Hoping that the King didn’t recognise her, she took shelter with @[member="Satara Hawk"] and @[member="Alexandra Cinthra"] to see what happened next.

Jorus had been pretty content to avoid @[member="Vorhi Alestrani"], Circe Savan, and everyone else who might get in the way. Which was to say, everyone. Listening to Ovmar and Ardik and Savan go at it hammer and tongs, however, ranked among his more pleasant experiences in this apparent facsimile of 100,001 BBY.

Unless this was somehow an alternate past, Circe's attempt at time travel would probably result in exactly nothing. But that was not for him to say. Presumably she'd just been poofed to some white room or other.

Jorus watched the nobility do the nobility thing, and pondered the size of the throne room that contained the seven-story man. He eyed all visible doors.

"Did he...crawl in here?" he murmured to Moira.

Alexandra Feanor

The Lady in Silver/Grey Historian
Alexandra stepped forward, checking to make sure @[member="Tamara"] was with her before clearing her throat, she didnt want to interupt the king but he had to know they were here once more. She tugged down her hood so that @[member="King Oa"] and @[member="Queen Naala"] could see it was her like before and gave a bow to them while she stopped now in full few. Alexandra closed her eyes and remained in the bow until the King or Queen saw or acknowledged her in anyway. If Tamara was nearby Alexandra would wave her hand for a moment, a motion for Tamara to do so too.

"Apparently the teleportional prowess of whatever 'unknown force' is directing the destiny train has no limitation when it comes to size. Given that this...'Architect' suddenly erupted from the desert and got ported here with us," Moira said quietly to Jorus as the argument took place, keeping her eyes on the King and the titan creature.

"I imagine this dispute is not about renovating the palace," she said very dryly. Was the HRD capable of taking anything seriously anymore? Apparently this series of interesting time travel episodes had resulted in her trying to develop a sense of humour that mostly consisted of trolling people.

Vulpesen sat fairly shocked at the sudden change of scene. Keeping himself in a somewhat small profile, he moved forward ahead of the others and two the others. He gave a small cough as introduction then spoke. "Please forgive us for the intrusion your highness, but it seems that we've been flipped back to another time period." He doubted the king recognized him, but the others might be familiar faces and the situation was certainly unique enough to stick in one's memory. @[member="King Oa"] @[member="The Architect"] @[member="Queen Naala"]
