All the Little Things

Jedi lived and learned in their temples? Of course Ka was taken back by the idea. He looked over to Kahlil. "You're allowed to freely come and go right?" Kafh asked a bit confused. He was sure the Jedi wouldn't treat their people like slaves.

The younger man shook his head slightly. "Yes, that's okay, I'm interested to see what this entails. Whoever built this temple had an eye for architecture. You may lead the way friend." Kafh-en-ma-nofre said with a hint of a smile. The young man ran a hand through his hair. He was surprising himself today, usually he'd avoid conversation all together, but today was different. Ka felt as if he made progress with his people problems, even if it was just a little bit. Kafh smiled and followed Kahlil into the temple.

[member="Kahlil Zambrano"]

"Obviously. Why else would I have been at the beach?" Kahlil chuckled a bit, glancing to [member="Kafh-en-ma-nofre"] with a perked brow. Well, actually. Given his life as a slave, it wouldn't be too far off for Kafh to assume the other. Better not dwell on that too much at the moment. He lead the way as asked, heading right through the massive entry way and right into the courtyard. It wasn't far in, but it was surrounded by the tall hallways to the rest of the temple.

"Right, so. The Force. It's.. Hard to explain. It's in everything, flows through like an endless tide. Those like us can often feel it. And when you can feel it, you can manipulate it." As a demonstration Kahlil reached for a nearby chair. Within a moment it was floating in his invisible grip. Kahlil turned his head back to his new friend, nodding. "With training, you can do things like this and more."

"Good point. Apologies Kahlil." Kafh said with a nod. It was strange to think that they had freedom, a new thought to the once slave. He smiled, apparently you didn't have to be a slave to live with a group of people... obviously. Ka kicked himself for thinking that. The younger man followed Kahlil through the Temple's massive entry, to a courtyard. Looking around the Ex-Slave would notice the large walls of the temple surrounding them. Such beauty, Kafh smiled as the older man explained to the best of his abilities what the force was.

Ka watched as a chair began floating in the air, Kafh-en-ma-nofre stepped back caught a bit off guard. "Woah." He said unsure of the powers at work. He looked over to Kahlil. "Amazing. The Force can do that? How do you...uh feel the Force?" Ka asked tilting his head a bit. Curiously the younger man looked over to the chair. Reaching out to touch it. "Just amazing."

[member="Kahlil Zambrano"]

"It's uh, hard to explain. You have to sit and close your eyes and just.. Open your mind? The family I grew up in knew and used the Force long before I was born. It was just a natural thing, like using a tail for a dog. It's hard to understand at first, but completely possible to learn once you have one." Kahlil shrugged to [member="Kafh-en-ma-nofre"] . He could teach people how to use the Force, but that first connection to it, to understand it was there and how to use it, that wasn't something he was at all good at.

"Here, we'll try it now. Sit, close your eyes. I'll try to help guide you through." He lowered the chair as he spoke, setting it across from another that he sat in shortly after. "Let's see, hmm?"

"I thank you for explaining it to the best of your abilities Kahlil." Ka said. Kahlil asked him to sit down and close his eyes. The Ex-Slave nodded, staking the other seat and sitting down. The younger man had always thought that only the Anubians held the power of the gods, but this Force, it changed Kafh-en-ma-nofre's perspective on that thought. It was like his whole world was flipped, he should be in shock but surprisingly he was okay.

It was because he had someone to trust, or that's what he guessed, Kahlil an actual friend. The man reminded Ka of his brother, always watching his back and taking the time to explain and help Kafh. The young man smiled and shook his head slightly at his thoughts. Kafh closed his eyes, waiting for Kahlil to guide him through this thing called the force. Ka let out a breath. "Okay I'm ready Kahlil." Ka said with a nod.

He wondered how the whole thing worked, the sorcerers kept what they did under wraps, it was all very secretive.

[member="Kahlil Zambrano"]

"Good. Now." Kahlil did the same as [member="Kafh-en-ma-nofre"] , closing his eyes and taking a deep breath to better center himself. It was easy for him to touch the Force. He already did, brushing it like it was an old friend. "Breath. Let your mind rest. Focus on your breathing. On my breathing. The wind that travels through here. The warmth of the sun above. Know these feelings, how the world feels around you. Understand it, and you will feel something different. A prickle on the back of your neck. Something you can't explain. Find that, focus on that."

Kafh-en-ma-nofre slowed his breathing, taking a second to quiet his mind. Something he hadn't done in some time. Ever since he was free he didn't really have a chance to just silence his mind, it was constantly racing. Following what Kahlil said he focused only on his breathing. Slowly inhale, slowly exhale. Simple enough. He then started to focus on Kahlil's breathing as well, his breaths deep. Kafh could tell the older male was calm, in turn that relaxed Kafh a bit more.

He slowly began to focus on the slight breeze that blew through the temple, Kafh didn't notice it before, but now he was surprised to feel it. The sun's warmth touched Kafh and he began to add that to the mix of things. Slowly he would feel as if he was in a forest, surrounded by trees, the smell of feint treesap filled his nose.

As he continued to focus on all those things, a feeling he couldn't explain washed over him. It was like chicken-skin but at the same time not. Kafh didn't really have words to describe it, like some unknown force. He continued to focus trying to grasp what that feeling was, completely forgetting that Kahlil was with him.

Kafh-en-ma-nofre continued to focus on his and Kahlil's breathing and feeling the world around him, the sun, the wind, the faint smells. Even the strange feeling he got.

"Hmm." He wondered what that feeling was.

[member="Kahlil Zambrano"]

"Good, you've found it haven't you. Keep focused on that. Feel it. Trust in it. It'll lead you to where you need to go. Everything else will fade as you focus deeper. You'll be confronted with your memories, your sense of self. Be prepared. It's a trial in on itself." Even as he spoke, the more [member="Kafh-en-ma-nofre"] focused on that feeling, the farther Kahlil's voice sounded. The light dimmed, the world faded. All that was left was that feeling. It was warm, welcoming.

And it spoke. Not with words, but with feelings. Of Kahlil, who was filled with hope for the future. Of the other Jedi, eager to learn. The plants desire to grow. The living Force all around.

He indeed found it. It was faint, but there. Kafh shifted his focus from his breathing, the warmth of the sun, the world around him, to solely that feeling. The feeling of an undescribable nature, perhaps the feeling Kahlil spoke of. Flashes of his life would begin to flood the Ex-Slave's mind. A feeling of warmth would wash over Kahf. One stronger than that of the sun above, no it was more of an inner warmth.

As his memories filled his mind, a feeling of belonging also made itself apparent. He never felt like he belonged on Ankhypt, just going through the daily motions because he had to. A feeling of exploring new experiences away from the watchful eye of the Anubians. A thirst for understanding, understanding the Force, the very thing that one could use. The thing that flowed endlessly like the tide of an ocean, or the sand blowing across the desert. Kahlil's voice was now all but gone. Kafh was now in what he could only describe as a meditative state. Focusing on the living Force around him.

[member="Kahlil Zambrano"]

Kahlil let out a sigh once he was sure [member="Kafh-en-ma-nofre"] was deep in his meditation. Now, it was up to him where the Force would take him. Kahlil leaned back in his seat, glancing up to the sky. There was a lot to show Kafh when he made it back out, but until then, well. He could only sit there. "I wonder if he likes caf.." Yeah, caf might be nice. He got up and left to go do just that. Make some caf for when Kafh returned.

It was an amazing feeling, what one would call the Force. For Kafh it felt real, but how could this be? The young man had no clue. Kafh-en-ma-nofre felt at rest, truly at rest for the first time in his life since he was a child. It felt as if he was one with the Galaxy in a sense. The Ex-Slave grasped onto that feeling, clung to it, he wasn't about to let that feeling go. It was as if the gods were telling him that everything would balance out in the end.

Kafh opened his eyes. A smile plastered on his face. The young man was determined to remember that feeling. He made a mental note to write about it later, and practice the strange meditation again later. Kafh-en-ma-nofre looked around the now empty courtyard. He wondered where Kahlil went. Did he make the man disappear? Unlikely. The young man frowned.

"Uh...Teacher?" He said worriedly as he stood up, glancing around a bit more. He took a second to regain his composure before taking a step away.
"Kahlil?" He said quietly. Was it okay to just wander the temple? Even if he was invited. No...back on Ankhypt if he was caught wandering even if he was invited, it would cause trouble. Kafh stood around for a second taking a breath then glancing around the courtyard. Such a beautiful place. If he had time he'd make a quick sketch. The young man shook his head and smiled.

[member="Kahlil Zambrano"]

"Ah, sorry. I didn't go too far." Kahlil returned shortly, holding two cups o Caf for them both. He smiled to [member="Kafh-en-ma-nofre"] and held one out for his friend to take. There was nothing like a good cup of Caf. He hadn't had enough himself, despite meeting Kafh in a Cafe by the beach. Still, it looked like Kafh was monumentally lighter. The Force had given him some sense of freedom and peace.

Good.

"It's black. I wasn't sure what you'd like in it. Sorry."

Kafh heard Kahlil's apology, causing the young man to look over to him. He gave a slight smile. He was getting an apology? That was definitely something he didn't hear every day. He was usually the one to apologise. He shook his head and gave a small friendly chuckle. "No need to apologise Kahlil..." Kafh said. The Ex-Slave looked to the cup of Caf for a moment taking a second to decide whether he really wanted it. He didn't want to be rude, so he accepted the cup of Caf.

"Thank you, uh.. you didn't have to bring me anything. You don't need to trouble yourself." Kafh stated as he made his way to one of the chairs and took a seat. He slipped at the Caf and looked to Kahlil.

"So May I ask another question? Do you have any family? I don't mean to pry, so you don't have to uh. Answer." Kafh said.

[member="Kahlil Zambrano"]

"I'm addicted to Caf, so I was gonna get my own anyway. Figured it'd be best to be nice to a guest, right?" He gave [member="Kafh-en-ma-nofre"] another of his kind smiles before sitting back down in his own chair. Kafh seemed to be far happier then he was before. It's amazing what happens when someone unlocks that precious connection to the Force. He took another sip of his cup, though almost choked on it at the next question.

"N.. No. It's perfectly alright to ask. I have quite a lot of family, but they.. Well." Better to be honest. "My father is the Emperor of the Sith. He has several wives, and I, dozens of brothers and sisters. As a Jedi, they uh. Well.. They want me dead for bringing shame to the family." Kahlil's gaze lowered. He had grown up with so many, yet it had been so long since he left he forgot what it was like to be around his family. As cruel as they tended to be, it was nice to have family.

"I uh thank you." He said with a smile, to think that he was a guest and not a servant made him smile. Usually Kafh was the one bringing drinks to guests. It was nice being an equal for the first time in his life.

Kafh looked over to Kahlil who looked suprised at the younger man's question, the man quickly recovered and explained that his family was actually quite large. That they were actually a family of Sith, his father being the Emperor who had many wives, in turn causing Kahlil to have many siblings. He explained that his family wanted him dead because being a Jedi brings shame onhis family.

Kafh-en-ma-nofre was taken aback, but only for a moment. He took a breath and looked to the open sky, allowing the sun to fall on his face. The young man smiled brightly as he looked down and met Kahlil's gaze.

"I see. Hm." Kafh paused. What a peculiar situation. "I hope you do not see yourself as shameful for following your own path. The path you feel is right." Kafh sighed giving a chuckle as he did. "The thing about family is, most are rooted in tradition, the way it's been done for years...they resent those who wish to make new traditions and push aside old ones." He looked around the temple. "But it cannot be helped, you believe your path is different from your family's, they may see it as shameful enough to kill you over it, but it is your path. A path that the Force, or even the gods have set before you." Kafh sipped at the Caf, still not used to the taste of bitter grossness that it was.

"As long as you're true to your core beliefs, and keep following the path set before you... everything will come together." Kafh finished with a smile. While his situation wasn't exactly the same, Kafh could relate.

[member="Kahlil Zambrano"]

"They call my father the God-King of my people. My people do. So I don't exactly believe in the idea of gods as you do." He let out a small laugh. Not at [member="Kafh-en-ma-nofre"] 's faith, but the fact that Kahlil was, to millions of Epicanthix, the son of a living god. Not something that you'd usually put on a resume. Still, Kafh brought up good points, some he hadn't even thought of before.

"Everything will come together huh.." He mumbled the words, his gaze lifting to the bright sky above them. Yeah. Everything would come together if he kept true to his beliefs. But.. What were they? He hadn't the time to think about it, not with how.. Different the Silver Jedi was from Jedi to Jedi. "Y'know. How do you feel about being a spacer?"

The idea of a god-king was definitely blasphemous, but Kafh understood why Kahlil didn't share the same idea of faith. How could he? To have his father proclaim himself as a god? Hm Kafh sipped at his Caf. But it looked as if Kahlil took some of what Kafh said and let it dwell in him. The Ex-Slave heard him mumble something then look to the sky, he obviously had something on his mind.

The man asked how Kafh felt about becoming a spacer. Kafh pondered the question for a moment. Before smiling a bright smile. "Interesting idea for sure. And think the gods want me to stick with you for a while, something tells me we're going to do great things. So to answer your question. Why not?" Kafh said with a smile.

[member="Kahlil Zambrano"]

"Perfect. We'll consider this the beginning of a wonderful adventure, hmm?" Kahlil gave [member="Kafh-en-ma-nofre"] an almost child like grin before he downed what was left of his Caf and stood up. "Let's head off. We can drop off the cups on the way. I've got to get you use to my ship, so the sooner the better huh!" He seemed quite eager, and he grinned only wider as he lead the way to the spaceport within the temple. The had much to do.
