Well, at least it seemed like her actions had been recognized by not just eligor, but the knight accompanying them as well. That... at least brought somewhat of a small smile to her face.

There was still a need to focus on the now, however, and with both of their prompts, Jayda gave a small nod and started quickly toward the staff elevator situated off to the side of the hanger. Those bloated and bubbling zombies were still shuffling around in places, yet the only real motion that would say that she acknowledged their presence was the weaves and bobs she made. Had there been more time she might’ve tried to push them aside, but the little timer in the back of her mind was still counting down.

Small chimes rang out into the otherwise quieted down hanger as her lithe fingers pressed the keycode into the elevators console, surprised pleasantly to see it light up green once the code was in.
“Suppose he wasn’t completely lying then.” She let out the smallest of laughs, quickly setting the elevator to start it’s way down. And it seemed as though the man had been completely truthful by this point, as the sound of it traveling down the long shaft could be heard.

That is about when their good luck ended sharply.

The doors to the elevator opened slowly, and jayda, the timer prompting her to hurry her way inside, suddenly felt a pair of knife pricks bury themselves in either arm. Looking down at the small devices, barely longer than half a pinky finger, her eyebrows furrowed in confusion.
“What..” The word managed to just escape her mouth before her body was enveloped in a web of electricity, crackling loudly, and the scream that was pulled from the acolytes mouth seemed to indicate just how much pain every part of her being was in.

It took a few seconds for the electricity to finally die down, and with it no longer shocking her muscles to keep the blonde woman standing, jayda found herself quickly fading into the darkness of unconsciousness, and that the floor of the elevator was suddenly beginning to rush up towards her...

Taking the lead in securing the welcoming center was equally exciting and risky. Even with the Shadow Fist as well as his own senses, the home field advantage of the slavers meant that they had plenty of little hiding spots and small redoubts that had to be cleared out. Thankfully a decent bit of those hiding out were cowards that had retreated from the earlier assaults and the sight of the Empire’s finest terrified them.
As it should, everyone here not in chains deserved to be afraid. Retribution had come.

And I intend to bring it to each and every one of them.

As much as I can appreciate a direct solution, I wouldn’t want to risk any of them escaping amidst the bombardment.” Alisteri had little intent of getting in the way of the planning, but he did linger near the holomap as he checked over the Legionnaires and helped to bring up ammunition and whatever other supplies they needed.

He wasn’t exactly the most military minded, nor experienced enough in planning. He trusted that they would put him where they needed him.

Well, unless they went with Monty’s plan.

Is there any way we can past the ray shield that doesn’t involve blowing our way in? Not that I’m opposed to that of course.” If it worked then it worked. “I could try and sneak inside and disable it, or provide a distraction. They’ve trapped themselves like the rodents they are, all we have to do is let loose the blade.

In his mind it was a foregone conclusion, the slavers were merely prolonging the inevitable.

The elevator thrummed as the Sangnir bolted from the entrance, an arm curling around the smaller Acolyte's chest. Eligor sped past the device that had taken Jayda unawares, but not without receiving s bit of electric backlash herself. From the sudden rush forward she stopped with a roll, laying Jayda onto the durasteel tiles of the floor. It was a trap, one that even she had failed to detect. Failed to protect the small blonde, the key to bigger plans. At least she was still breathing... Eligor shuddered, the buzz in the back of her brain having intensified.

He wasn't happy.

She turned to examine Alina's situation but instead of an elevator a black tunnel filled her view. It was the barrel of a blaster, and the light at its end definitely wasn't paradise. The droid warbled in binary speak, joined in its conversation by another of its kind. Large, hulking, and seconds away from firing.

Taim curses into an empty room. Where was his target? He tries to consider where else he could be...chit. The hangar. It was the only answer. Turning quickly, he sprints down the hall and jumps down the corpse strewn stairs, kicking off the wall to change direction quickly and booking it doubletime towards the hangar, kicking down the doors....only to come face to face with an annoyed Twilek mercenary in an empty hangar. growling, he addresses her.

"We don't have a choice. We'll team up, find him, split the reward and the credit 50/50. Deal?"

He thumbs the safety of his weapon behind his back. If she didn't agree, it would be easier to get her out of the way.

A trap.

Of course there was a trap. Alina had expected it herself. Jayda should of been more prepared. The Sith cursed under her breath as her spear was shot from her grasp. She had expected Jayda to do well on her own. Such wasn't the fate for these three, however. And sure enough, Eligor's desire to protect had her face to face with a blaster. With death.

Faced with the imminent death of two acolytes the rage the Knight felt ripped through her mind. The bodies she'd created all fell limp as she took back the Anima, fueling her form. In the blink of an eye she ripped through the droid. Fists punched through steel like it was paper. No, not fists. Alina's fingers hardened into claws, shredding circuitry almost as if she'd used her saber.

It was over in an instant. The droid holding the barrel to Eligor's head fell to pieces without warning, followed shortly by the rest that had been set up to ambush. With a sigh the Knight shook her hands. Claws receded, leaving her gloves in tatters. "Wake her up. We've little time left."

The Legionnaires were respectful as Alisteri spoke, giving the young man who their attention regardless of his inexperience. Force users were always a peculiar sort. Always. But he had been their aegis, so how little it was to at least give him a few seconds of time. Monty, the Legionnaire with a stripe of orange on his chest and a penchant for orbital destruction, nodded enthusiastically.

"Hey now, he's got a point. A little point. A little point for a little guy, yeah?" He slapped his hand onto the holotable. "And little guys with portable weapons are perfect for ducts, yeah?" His hand then circled the blueprints of the formerly--hopefully soon returned--Sith spaceport. "You get in through this back room, it's right here in the center. Not in the center of the center which, a know, disappointing."

"Monty, please."

"Let me fini--"

"Get to the point!"

"POINT is, dammit, is that you crawl through point A and get your berserker self into point B. It's a big drop, kid, but it'll land you next to that shield's controls." Monty threw a careless hand in the air. "If you think you can handle it. Otherwise yeah, we blow it up. Along with some of the wrong people."

Alisteri blinked once, then twice in response to the plan. Admittedly he wasn't the best at stealth, even though his master was like a shadow, but having basically no armor to weigh him down meant that he was fast enough and quiet enough in theory. Plus it wasn't like he drew out his kills, so whatever got in his way could be dealt with.

There was still plenty of unknowns and risk involved though. They really had no idea what was in there.

"...I'm in."

It was a relatively simple plan, he liked those. Get in, turn off the shield, kill his way out. Easier said then done of course but beggars and choosers and all that. Besides, sowing chaos in the rear sounded delightful to him.

"I'll do my best to see if I can open as many doors as possible and shut down whatever turrets they may have in there as well. I can make no promises on that front, but you have my word that the shield will come down. One way or another." He paused and his gaze turned straight to Monty. "If it's still up thirty minutes after I go in, feel free to blow the chit out of it."

Always paid to be prepared.

As the fire continues to break on the forward shields of the Romulus, Amon’s grip behind his back tightens imperceptibly as he calculates in his head.
“Boatswain, name yourself and give a report on shielding and armor status.” Amon’s voice comes out commanding and calm, but inside he is seething. This kind of mission was not the debut he had in mind.
A young Dilluvian stands from his post and salutes.
“Caliban Zaf sir. Shields are at 70% and holding, hull integrity remains uncompromised and armor status is nominal.” Having finished his report, the young man sits down and Amon nods.
“Thank you Caliban. Armament group 3, align targeting on the escort ships and open fire, but take caution not to hit the capitol ship. The operatives on board have 4 minutes and 16 seconds remaining, and I intend to keep my word. All other Armament groups are to remain locked on the Capitol ship’s vital system and await command to fire.”

A young human officer speaks up from communications. “Perrin Yale sir, one of our supply ships, the Elegance, has been hit and is requesting evacuation to the Romulus. Their escape pod bays suffered critical damage.”

Amon doesn’t miss a beat. “Quartermaster, activate 2 squadrons of fighters and 20 personnel shuttles and send them to evacuate the crew of the Elegance. Navigation, reposition to put us in front of the supply vessel until evacuation is complete.”

The crew hops to action immediately, and Amon turns back towards the great window just as the first volley of fire flies forth and shatters one of the corvettes, ripping through durasteel and shields on the lighter vessels in macabre fireworks. His eye twitches in annoyance however, as one of the heavy lasers visibly grazes the capitol ship.

“Armament group 3, watch your aim.” He speaks with a firm sense of discipline, and the fire is quickly adjusted. Amon nods and continues watching as the escort is torn apart. Now things might be a little more interesting.

Came to Cadomai in: The Corrupted Flesh

The Amalgam hadn't been planning on entertaining guests.

With the war against the NIO in a truly heated stage, The Empire was scrambling for anything it could use as an insurance policy.

The Saaraishash had sent her to scout out what was believed to be a lost Sith Starfighter Base in the frigid wastes of the planet. Heavy pirate activity was in the area.

She was looking forward to a particularly fun day of killing people in the snow. This would be a massive unwind for her. She had always done her best work in the shadows. The recent dealings had stressed her in ways never before experienced.

She was having difficulty deciding if she liked that or not.

After she set down the craft, an X-70B Phantom Antique, she headed back to her personal quarters to go and get her supplies for the mission. She had chosen two of her favorite weapons...

She got the surprise of her life as she walked into her quarters, plastered with photos of Laertia and Uri, particularly Uri.

She found Laertia Io sitting on her bed, clad in the white robes of Ursula Sandraven, one if The Amalgam's fake personalities, a pair of shotguns next to her, heavily armed. She had a few cuts on her organic arm and face. Bruises that were not fully healed.

Normally, this would have been cause for extreme alarm, even though the Darth Phyre hiding in her mind was thrilled to see her as was the Surface Persona.

After a startled moment, The Amalgam broke into a smile, realizing Laertia wasn't here to fight.

"I remember that time you first took me out Skeet Shooting." Xiphos said idly. Her gray cybernetic eye , and her mutated Bronze and Green one downward cast. "It was a cold day like this."

"Nice cold air woke you up." The Amalgam replied. "I heard about Sarka. It probably means nothing coming from me, but I know you did everything you could. Ummmm...how did you get aboard without me knowing?"

"The world seemed so bright to me back then. Having purpose."

"True conviction requires painful sacrifice..." The Amalgam said with somehow soft rasp, slinking up to her.

"They slaughtered them and slaughtered them. They're worse than any Sith. Somehow they're so damn evil I can even stand to be around you now."

"Why are you here, Laertia?"

"I've disappointed the memory of the people who died saving me when I was young in so many ways to try and put an end to these squabbles. Sarka still happened, and you're the only one I know not totally freaked out."

The Amalgam sat next to her.

"I'm so glad to be the first person you go to vent to." The Shi'ido gushed.

"I'm gonna kill you someday. Or Uri is. But that day is a long way off." Xiphos said. "But Sarka left me...tired. As much as I despise you...I don't really want to talk to anyone else right now."

"Oh, Laertia! You don't need to make excuses to visit!" The Amalgam gushed. "Of course I'll be happy to take you with me today! We'll play catch up!"

Xiphos said nothing else for a few moments.

"So...where you heading?" The Light Side Marauder asked blankly.

"Got word of a hidden Starfighter Base here. Rainy Day weapons left by some other Sith splinter faction that got stomped way the hell back when."

"That sounds like something to get my mind off things..." Xiphos said.

The Amalgam's flesh shuddered, on her head, warping into the visage of Ursula Sandraven, the purple skinned, Twi'lek Woman that Laertia had once looked up to.

"You want to take point or shall I?" The Amalgam asked with Ursula's crisp schoolteacher voice.

"You do it." Xiphos replied in a somewhat empty voice, handing her shotgun.

"Eight Guage, huh. That's what I've always adored about you." The Amalgam said, checking the system over, smiling, figuring out how it worked in seconds. "No subtlety. Just projection of power."

The Amalgam took the shotgun and Laertia followed her off the ship into the frozen wastes...

I was still in full swing looking for possible exits, secret paths/routes from here, when the man finally arrived again. I immediately grabbed the guns and aimed him; the bounty hunter instinct. If he also adheres to the bounty hunter code, he will not attack. But I couldn’t have known he was just a mercenary or really a bounty hunter. What he offered, however, was clearly in line with the Bounty Hunter's Code.

"All right, I accept your offer. I think there must be an escape route here because the vehicles are all there and I haven’t seen anything leave."

With that, I lowered the firearms and then looked around again. I didn’t have time to look through everything before because the man had arrived. Then maybe now that we’re two, we’ll finish faster. For safety’s sake, I also looked at the ceiling and the ground to see if I could find anything. There was no further reinforcement from the enemy yet, so at least we had peace of mind in this regard.

"Which bounty hunter house do you represent? Or are you just a member of the Guild?"

I inquired; it never hurt to know who your current partner was on the hunt. Eventually, after a minute or two, I completely happened to step on a place that had a different voice when I stepped. A secret door that leads down. This is it! I've been looking for this so far. I looked at the man and indicated to him what I had found, then carefully opened the door and a ladder led down.

Objective: BYOO (Investigate lost Starfighter base with The Amalgam The Amalgam )

Xiphos didn't feel the cold, due to her Parents Spear as well as the robes of "Ursula" shielding her from the bitter cold and snow. The Amalgam, still wearing the face of Ursula Sandraven, the face Laertia had trusted and respected for years moved casually through the snow, the purple skin of her Twi'lek features contrasting with the snow as she lead the way through the desolate snowscape.

"So, wanna go Dark Side yet?" The Amalgam asked with Ursula's crisp schoolteacher voice. "I can sense you've left the Jedi behind. But not the Light. You instead force it to do your bidding. A half measure, as I have previously stated.

"I'll never use The Dark Side." Xiphos stated flatly. "My Alliance with your Empire is only out of the need to preserve it for use against The Bryn'adul. Nothing more."

"Admit it...you're starting to understand why a lot of people really really hate Jedi." The Amalgam teased.

Xiphos was silent for a moment.

"You're starting to understand why I could never truly be content being Ursula, even with you and Uri to keep me company. Beating the Sith is all they really care about, after setting up this picture-perfect vision of a happy galaxy. Insufferable, actually working amongst them, wasn't it? I'm so glad I got to you before they did. They'd have made sure to brainwash you in particular good and hard. You'd never have questioned the obvious stupidity of a two front war. You'd have helped them wage war like a good little drone for the Ant Hive."

At this Xiphos said nothing because she knew, deep down that The Amalgam was right.

She wouldn't have had a very fulfilling life being completely beholden to them. She didn't want to destroy them, just stop them from fighting the Sith so they would be forced to concentrate solely on The Bryn'adul.

That said, her frustration with the Jedi was starting to become very personal...the harder they fought to destroy the Sith rather than The Bryn'adul, the more embittered she grew.

Yeah, she was starting to resent them.

The Amalgam simply shrugged and went forward.

"What was Sarka like?" She asked, changing the subject...

"Pure hell..." Xiphos said. "They threw everything they had at the Bryn'adul. They just kept coming. Kept killing."

"Wasteful. No appreciation for keeping crops..." The Amalgam scoffed. "Their attempt to kill all weakness is doomed...if they kill everything that is weak...what will they have to compare themselves to? Themselves? That's no metric. If you kill all that is weak, you kill all that is strong also. Because Strong will simply become Baseline. Average. In killing the weak, they would only diminish the obviousness of their own strength. Strength must have something to compare itself to in order to be considered strength at all. These Bryn'adul are an awfully short sighted lot, for all their prowess in war. They'll get awfully bored, if they win, having only themselves to talk to."

"I won't let them win!" Xiphos snarled passionately. "The Bryn'adul will fall! The Bryn'adul must fall!"

"And they shall, my dear. Of course they shall!" The Amalgam chuckled. "Its simply a matter of figuring out their weaknesses. They use Biotech...turn it against them. They value strengths? Use their strength to undermine them. Its all about taking their power, and making it meaningless."

Xiphos thought on her old Master's words as she signalled they both stop, hiding behind a large rocky protrusion partly covered by snow.

Xiphos's cybernetic eye focused on the structure ahead. Mostly decrepit, but she could spot the telltale signs of a Hangar. They were here. The Starfighter Base.

It was already inhabited. Guard posts had been set up. Snipers were at the watchtower. They looked like they were using pilfered Imperial Gear.

"You can tell they're pirates...Professionals would have spotted us, even with the blizzard." The Amalgam scoffed, taking aim at the Watchtower Snipers with her carbine. "Not sure I can hit them from this range..."

"Allow me..." Xiphos said, pulling out her spear and extending it to full length. "Range?"

"Four hundred meters, Dear."

Laertia used the targeting systems in her eye to help guide her shots.

She fired two five second bursts, hitting and freezing the heads of both snipers, who fell from their perch, heads shattering as they hit the ground.

The Amalgam let out a squee of delight, even though the loud sound had given away their position.

"Shall we?" The Amalgam asked, having not lost Ursula's face or voice.

"We shall..." Xiphos said curtly, rising and teleporting ahead, while the Amalgam cloaked herself using her suit technology and began to move forward quickly, blasting approaching pirates with her gifted shotgun as she sprinted through the desolate, snowy landscape towards the base at superhuman speed...

Taim glances at her, his expressionless visor still managing to convey some condescension .

"I'm a free agent. I work for myself, and we dont have time for small talk. Lets move, the target won't have gone far since he didn't take a vehicle."

Without waiting for a reply he starts searching the hangar for secret doors.

"I'll take the south side, you take the north." He detaches a small comm device from his belt and tosses it to Silhana Cadera Silhana Cadera . "Stay in contact and message me if you need backup kid. And watch for bombs, guy seems the type." His piece said, he walks off to start searching the compound....

I sighed, so it's just a mercenary. I didn’t really like it for its kind because they were never famous for their honour. Not to mention that they didn’t like working with others either, so I had to be prepared that he had to try to kill me in the end. Last but not least, I didn’t like to be seen as an amateur.

"I have had enough time in the profession to know such opponents. I may look very young, but I run my own bounty hunt house and am a recognized member of the Bounty Hunter Guild!"

Luckily I managed to say this coldly and not offended because it hurt my soul. So the part of what I should take care of I didn’t even react. I knew exactly, but I took the communicator from him.

"I'll tell you, then I'll go and see this secret flight or passage!"

After that, I started climbing the ladder. Downstairs there was a corridor three meters high and two meters wide, moving forward for a long time and then turning in two directions. Holding the guns in front of me, I went forward until I reached the fork. One led outwards towards the forest, the other inside the estate, towards the park and thus towards the city. I decided to start on the road to the inside of the estate.

I felt I had to go in that direction, I hope I'll be lucky.
