Description:
For centuries there have been two substances within the Galaxy that have been colloquially known for their extreme healing properties. Those substances were Bacta and Kolto. Over the years these substances have been mass-produced, recreated, and even improved upon in some cases, however, study of both of these substances have never truly stopped. Both Bacta and Kolto hold an almost mystical quality to them, being capable of healing nearly any wound over a long enough period of time. This has lead to Bacta and Kolto being referred to as miracle substances, and indeed both serums have over the millenia saved hundreds of billions of lives.
Of course, knowing this, and on it's mission to do good and study the curing of diseases the researched at Arkuhn Medical began to experiment and play with both Kolto and Bacta.
The scientists of Arkuhn Medical looked into every possibility of these two substances. Mixing them, distilling them, burning them, at times both Bacta and Kolto were even consumed then...recollected by multiple species. Each time brought the researchers a new datapoint, and each time more knowledge was added to the study. Over time, The scientists at Arkuhn Medical began to study the effects of bacta in composition with several other substances.
This course of research eventually lead Arkuhn Medical to develop Arcta.
Arcta, is a mixture of both Kolto and Bacta along with Manax Tree Sap and various synthetic compounds, produced through random routine testing on several womp rats and then introduced to a wounded Worrt test subject.
What happened next was a truly unique and unexpected outcome. Thought many of the scientists figured that the new serum would heal the Worrt in a strange or perhaps unique way, the Arcta instead began to outright destroy and attack the poison glands of the Worrt itself. The substance traveled through the Worrt's bloodstream and of course ended up in the creatures poison gland's, there the serum wreaked havoc on the poison contained there and eventually began to harm the posion glands of the Worrt itself, shutting down production of the creatures poison. This was of course an unexpected outcome, and researchers quickly went to work studying Arcta.
Over the next few weeks the serum was tested on several dozen other poisons, eventually reaching a list of substances that numbered well into the dozens. Just as oddly enough Bacta and Kolto are able to cure most wounds, Arcta seems to be capable of disabling and rendering most poisons and venoms completely inert.*
This effect is of course limited, much like the effects of Bacta. Arca's ability to render a poison inert is entirely up to a number of factors much like it is with Bacta. It all depends on how much poison there is, what the poison is, and where it entered the body. This is of course much like a regular wound, if your heart is torn from your chest Bacta will not be able to heal you. Similarly if you are injected directly in the heart with a neuro-toxin Arcta will not save you either.
Despite this, Arkuhn Medical has released Arcta onto the market, giving it a massive warning label but deeming it too important not to release into the galaxy.
