An Un-Common Friendship

Kay-Larr

Kay pushed him off after the nasty tongue attacked. "Ack!!!" She broke out in a fit of laughter though as she used her sleeve to wipe off the spit. "That's just...so gross...but...touché."

[member="Josh DragonsFlame"] may have won that battle. But not the war. She'd be sure to make him babysit. Alone! With twice the dirty diapers to change!

She smirked as he suggested that she'd be his publisher. Kay shrugged her shoulders a bit. "Well, why not. It's not as though I've got anything else to do, like running a government."

Jokes on her. She'd have to repay it by babysitting his kid as well. Who would eat her out of house and home, monarch or not. Salivic? No. Costly? Oh yes. And the mess!

"Ahahahaha!" He laughed at her reaction to the licking. "It looks like the Queen Of Commenor... Has finally been licked" He would pun with a big, goofy grin.

"Oh, I'm sure that can wait."

Kay gave [member="Josh DragonsFlame"] the biggest smirk that she could muster after he said that she had been licked. "Oh hardy-har-har."

Again another wipe of her cheek to be sure that all of the saliva was gone."Of course it can wait.
You have to gather all the material first. That could take a while..."
Or it might not. Such a thing could take him about a week if he focused on it enough. "But then again, being a big bad Jedi, you haven't the time..."

He shot her the biggest, cheekiest, snarkiest grin he could muster at that. Oh, the puns were going to continue, no mistake about that. "Well I've been told I can be a bit har-dy."

Josh laughed though when she said it would take him time. "Eh, there's plenty of time spent while working, while making sure Jason's sleeping, etc, etc, that I can use to think up material. Also hyperspace is a really good time to write stuff down" He explained. "You think the dad jokes would work, or should I axe those if they're too wooden?"

And continue they did. The puns were never ending. It was like cracking open a dam.

Damn.

Even in his after thoughts they continued. "I bet you have plenty of bad ones for your students as well..."

[member="Josh DragonsFlame"]

"Yeah..." He responded, nodding his head in agreement. "But then again, they'll learn. They're students of the game, after all" He joked, his grin only widening in response.

This was never going to end.

"I can just imagine you having an army of them all. And each one would use bad puns and jokes as a tactic to distract their opponents in battle in order to gain the upper hand."

Now that would be a sight to see. The realities of battle weren't familiar to her however. At most, all she did was slave rescues. And now that she was Queen, well she was kept away from a lot of dangers.

"You know what? I might just start teaching them that as a tactic legitimately. Thank you, Kay!" He spoke with a grin toward her. Oh no, she had done it now. It would never end. Now the puns would spread to his students.

"It's good to get the upper hand on our opponents."

Kay smirked. That's all that she needed was to give [member="Josh DragonsFlame"] some bad ideas. Well, they were funny ideas, but still. It was hard to tell who was a bad influence on who...

"Just as long as you also teach them to have the higher ground too. Then they should be okay....maybe." It was hard to tell with Josh as their teacher. It made her wonder what his son would be like as an adult....Could be scary indeed.

"The high ground is important. Not very good for reaching with a lightsaber though. Someone can undercut your legs while you might have difficulty reaching them" He would point out.

"I'll have to bring Jason sometime. Commenor seems safe enough, he could meet your kid when they're born" He spoke. Commenor was safe, yes. So long as they didn't sell him out to the Mandalorians or the Sith or something. Unlikely though. Or so he hoped. He didn't think Kay was some kind of monster though. Still he was cautious when it came to bringing Jason around. Maybe even overly cautious.

"I meant morally, but that works too..."

And she was tired of being on her feet again, so Kay sat down on one of the chairs in the foyer. "Commenor is safe.
We are a sanctuary from war and conflict. There's no safer place in all the Galaxy."
Or so she believed. But that was open to various opinions of course. Not everyone cared for her way of doing things.

Sitting down beside her, he would nod his head. "Moral high ground, huh? I suppose you're right. You'd think it would be a given for Jedi... But you and I both know that isn't the case. It's best to try to teach them the difference between right and wrong when one can... And the importance of empathy. It's something the Jedi of old lacked, really. Empathy. A heart. How can you protect people if you can't emphasize with their plight? If you can't feel for them? If you can't put yourself in their shoes?"

He smiled lightly when she said that Commenor was safe. Was it? He wasn't sure, so he did not speak on it.

[member="Josh DragonsFlame"] was right. Empathy was key. Kay akways tried to put herself in another's shoes, so that she could help right the wrongs that was done to them. It was why she had enacted the policies that she did, ensuring that her people had good wages, with no worry over healthcare or education.

"Sometimes we lose our way, or lose sight of our goal.
It's easy to get caught in the hype of battle and the need to exact revenge on those that have brought harm to others. Sometimes restraint and reflection is required. Impulses aren't always the correct ones."

"Certainly" He spoke. "Though sometimes you gotta draw lines for who to trust, and who to let walk into your home uninhibited" He remarked, referring to one of her earlier points. "Empathy is good, but always keep yourself closed off unless it's truly safe. You never know, after all. You let the wolf walk into your home and he might just take your sheep."

He relaxed back with his arms behind his head. "You shouldn't even fully trust me. I might just tickle you to death again when you least expect it."
