Another Fowl mess I've gotten myself into (Skylar)

Jan VonFowl

Part-Time Party Crasher
Being around Skylar for the last few days had helped Jan sort a few things out in his head. Not that he'd stop being an ass to random people. That would be something he did forever and always. His almost-epiphany was more along the lines of figuring out that he could sit down and have extended conversations with people who weren't ten or twenty years older than him.

Jan raised an eyebrow as Sky sat down next to him and began watching. He certainly wasn't much to look at. His sleeves were rolled up, and the white streaks he'd gotten done in his hair were covered in enough oil to turn then back to his natural color. Basically, he looked like a grease monkey with patches of white popping out of the side of his head.

"See something interesting?"

Sky smiled. "Your interesting enough to look at. I'm going to miss you." She chuckled, life had been more worth living with someone else around to share it with. Of course she'd never stop being Godblood, the infamous pickpocket with white hair that could clean a bar out before even the sober found out, which was exaggerated, but now she felt like she had something to live for. Sky chuckled at Jan's hair, which looked as bad as her own, greasy and stained. Her eyes memorized his facial features so she couldn't forget about the man that changed her.

I'm going to miss you more than you know.

Jan smiled and sat down next to Skylar, teasingly raising his eyebrow at her again.

"You are a strange girl... Most people usually can't wait for me to leave."

He gently ruffled her hair, scooting a bit closer on the bench.

"I'll miss you too, Miss Godsblood."

Sky sobered up.

"We should meet again sometime, Mr. VonFowl. Though maybe without the stabbing part." She chuckled at her own joke bit her lip to keep it from quivering. Jan was her only true friend. Others had only been alliances, or had betrayed her. [member="Jan VonFowl"] however, he was different, she felt it in her blood.

Jan gently poked the lip Skylar was biting, smiling at her a little bit.

"I promise my next entrance will be less dramatic."

He looked away and his voice dropped to an almost inaudible mutter.

"I'd let you stab me again if it meant somebody was happy to see me."

Sky laughed, something she was still getting used to.

"But that entrance was exciting!" She replied sarcastically, wanting to annoy Jan. Sky laid her head on his shoulder.

"When do you leave?"

Jan's hand dropped from Skylar's head to rest on her shoulder, and he hugged her a little.

"Tomorrow, I think. It's pretty normal for members of the Ravens to go off the radar for a few days, so I doubt anybody's looking for me. I'm basically just waiting for the car to finish getting power back."

He looked at her and raised an eyebrow again.

"Why?"

"Just wondering." Skyler felt crestfallen that he was going to leave, and she frowned sadly. She knew it was inevitable, but she could still be sad about it. An idea came to Sky's head suddenly and she slapped her leg with her hand.

"That's it! Do you want to do anything special before you leave?" She smiled shyly.

Why didn't I think of that before! Sky mentally slapped herself a few times, but she was mainly happy to do anything before her friend left.

Jan blinked at Sky for a moment, then smiled a little bit teasingly.

"How about we go out to eat somewhere, and then we have another driving lesson?"

Considering their last driving lesson had ended with them practically holding hands, that was sort of an unspoken invitation.

"Okay! Do you have any suggestions for where we should go?" Sky had actually never been out to eat before, but she didn't say it, the truth would come out sooner or later. She literally bounced with excitement at the aspect of going somewhere with Jan.

Jan laughed. He didn't know anything about this sector at all.

"No, but who's complaining if we've got to wander a little?"

Especially since he knew for a fact that he and Skylar were both well-armed.

Sky nodded and climbed back up the fire escape she had climbed down to get to Jan. It led right to her bedroom window, so it was a convenient way to get to and from her room. She changed into something that wasn't greasy, grabbed her satchel and knife, put her hair up, and practically jumped back down. She smiled at Jan.

"Shall we? I know a few places we could look at, but we aren't taking the speeder." Sky held out her hand.

Jan grinned a little bit as he took Skylar's hand. He didn't even blush this time.

"We've literally got all day. Show me?"

He started leading her towards the street, unconsciously squeezing her hand a little bit.

Skylar took off towards an alleyway, with Jan in tow, and headed to her favorite spot to pickpocket people. It was basically Nar Shaddaa Fith Avenue, a long line of shops, restaurants, bars, and night clubs. She weaved through the alleyways she had committed to memory when she still worked for the gang that raised her, and led Jan to said spot. Sky's silver eyes sparkled as she spread her free hand in a dramatic revealing gesture.

"Take your pick. Let's make this a night to remember."

Jan smiled as Skylar brought him through the alleyways and streets leading towards wherever she had in mind. He looked around this place she'd led him to, and then squeezed her hand again.

"Can you dance? We could go to the club after we eat."

The idea made him happy. He could be close to Sky without it getting awkward, and he liked to dance, even though he was a bit too acidic a guy to have a partner, most of the time.

Skylar suddenly shifted uncomfortably. She smiled, embarrassed at what she was going to say.

"That sounds like a great idea, but, um, I can't dance, I never learned." She bit her lip and looked down. It was true that she hadn't been taught to dance, even though her gang had thrown a few parties, she had never really learned to dance as she was usually serving drinks.

Jan chuckled and slipped his arm around Skylar, as if they were dancing.

"Well, then, I can lead and you can punish my bad leading by stepping on my feet."

He spun her around jokingly until he accidentally headbutted her.

Sky laughed as Jan spun her around, and then headbutted her accidentally. She rubbed her forehead still smiling, and stepped on his foot.

"Like that?"

Skylar laughed again, Jan had made her life happier because now she had more reasons to smile.

Jan laughed loudly as Skylar stepped on his foot. She really did have a good sense of humor. It made him smile in a way that was usually only prompted by large amounts of cynicism and insults directed at others.

"That was perfect, Sky. Almost makes me want to find you one of those pairs of spiky heels. You'd probably end up impaling somebody."

His joking grin was ruined a little when he pulled her into a hug.

"Let's have a whole bunch of fun. We don't have to dance if you don't want to."

Spiky heels? Sky tilted her head slighty with a questioning look before Jan pulled her into a hug. It kinda surprised her, but she hugged back anyway.

"It's your night, we can go dancing." After pulling out of the hug, Skylar would let Jan take wherever he decided for them to go.
