Anti-Force User Extremists - Interest check

Moira had a good time helping Atrisia solve its force-user problem.

I approve of this concept and hope it works. Speaking as someone whose main is a 'force god', I've long wanted a radically anti-mage faction to rise and try to purge them.

I like this idea. I don't have time to run another character but this has a Strider Stamp of approval.

On the concept that all factions are run by force users. For the most part this is true because everyone wants to be a wizard with all mighty power of handwavium trickery *grins*. For the most part all altercations are PvP where the force mostly trumps all. FU-s rely on the force as their main weapon. NFU-s Strengths are from kit, tech and NPCs. Maybe its time that NPCs start playing a bigger role in our roleplays and just above red shirt cannon fodder. Just a thought....

The greatest Jedi master, the small green dude called Yoda, Took some concentration to pull a X-wing from the mud----- all force tow trucker style. Jango Fett was capable of taking on Jedi with his bare hands and even fought Obi wan kenobi to almost success. Boba was eaten by a sarlaac due to equipment failure. lol. Just...... To many gods out there in this small galaxy. I give my full support to this faction if it sprouts up and hope they can knock a few of the FU gods off or at least down a few pegs.

LOL, I was planning on writing about this in a blog. I'm glad I'm not the only one who sees the inconsistency...

I think people get miss guided on the other aspects that are awesome to star wars. Like being a Star Fighter pilot. a Admiral of a fleet. A grunt on the battle field. Chaos has some of the best incentives to be a NFU, there is no power level gauge. You can start out at what ever skill level you wish to rp at. This is why I love rping Strider Garon here..... and that this site has the best core of mandos. Yeah, you don't get to go all Super Saiyan and commit mass murder single handedly with a tiny wand. But, you get to operate in a tactical environment of your choice (ifor combat) or like i have seen others in mechanical roles and other jobs. all up to the writer's imagination and it represents on a IC view what the majority of the citizens are in the galaxy. The non force gifted folks.

That's why I like to play and cater to NFUs primarily. There are so many possibilities in the Star Wars universe, so I'm not sure why it's frowned upon to want to play a non-Jedi. It eventually gets boring seeing the same FUs playing Super Smash Bros and having a general disregard about whether they destroy the lives of thousands of civilians by doing so in every thread.

[member="Skrik Piper"] If you could do that, that would be so great.

When I transferred Rev from one site to this one, I instantly noticed that powers were exponentially more critical here than anywhere else I have ever written. It's not bad per say, it's just different. And it leads to a sort of fighting mechanism that's far less technical (in the dueling aspect) and much more dependent on force powers (as [member="Strider Garon"] said). There are, of course, numerous characters on this site that null this general statement. But it's just something I noticed.

Elegant and depraved.
Yoda was also incredibly aged and out of practice at that time, due to his exile. Theres numerous cases of telekinesis in the star wars verse that were more impressive that took an equal amount of concentration or in some cases, much less.

Definitely not here to defend the FU's against the NFU's or anything, but you have to remember that one of the major draws(if not the) of Star Wars is the simple fact of playing a lightsaber wielding wuzzard. Granted it could be scaled down a bit, from the comic book, superman/hulk/thor/magneto moves that have been escalating lately.

[member="Darth Helios"] True and they are favored on all sites. So lets be the change here and lets start empowering the NFUs and I am not talking about making more rules or any such. Just writers to writers have a bit more respect for each other.

Me personally, its hard to rp against a FU cause most think they are gods and very much treat NFUs, even a character like Strider Garon who has been written and rped (13 years now) longer then most of the Sith Lords and Jedi Masters on this site, as if they are Red Shirt expendables. Thats not fair to wash all FUs with the same color and the same argument can be made of NFUs with overplaying gadgets and 'unrealistic' skills.

It comes down to realistic, creative and respectful writing. Story telling. And many of lost that view and many still hold that view (This site has a lot of amazing writers and far more talented then I).

Damnit, now all this talk is now making me want to create a character for this cult......................

Corruck would support this, after certain things happen.

I hope to make him later see the Force as a danger to the galaxy, both the greatest good and evil. He would be willing to sacrifice the good to remove the evil, and he would expect the good to willingly accept. So yet, if this comes up I would be more than willing to support this, covertly at first and maybe more openly later on.

Oh, its quite unfair. Reason being, especially for newer writers playing fu's, is no matter the credentials of the opponent they feel like a force crush(or something similar) should be a go-to dispatch for nfu's. People don't see the competition in writing fu's against nfu's, which is a major problem because it discredits respectable entities like the Mandalorians and other nfu groups. If the focus could be shifted from mere competition in pvp, to the actual story of the encounter these things could be recorded in a much more fun fashion.

I like the loopholes that remedy the problem(although not fully), like vong-shaping or some other means of becoming force dead. It has a looming threat of redundancy(especially in large numbers) but I've seen it play out amazing storylines in the past.

Saw a guy create a character with a Force Abyss too, that deadened the Force in his presence, but its perhaps an over-glorified ysalmir concept, looking back at it.

You rang?

But Vong are still affected by things like lightning, which will be used as soon as possible.

Or crushing the suit of armor a vongshapped fett clone might be wearing.

[member="Kage"] Yea thats why I said it doesn't completely remedy the problem, but it helps a bit. Try not wearing hard armor. [member="Rave Merrill"] has leathers that can defend against projected force attacks like lightning too, if I'm not mistaken.
