The Countess of Kytrand
"Excellent!" The Sorceress replied to
Draco Miles
. "You have an impressive use of it. There are students older than you who practice for years and never come anywhere close to the control you display."
"Hey boss. Just got a transmission from Mother! She wants to know if you're okay.
The flesh of the Sorceress of Dantooine's face bubbled and shuddered for a split second into that of Arianna, while keeping the rest of The Sorceress she had assimilated everywhere else.
She gestured for his comlink and he tossed it to her.
"Yes, Daughter, I'm fine, I'm just fine. How are you?" Arianna asked, her face out of place on her body.
"How goes the Vault exploration?" Xiphos asked.
"Slow so far but picking up steam, definitely. Would you like me to bring you back anything?"
"Uh, no. I'm good. But thanks. Whereever you are, I recommend setting up a checkpoint. Or a base camp in there if at all possible."
"I'm afraid that even this early, the area is not safe enough to allow for that." Arianna explained... "Much more scouting would be needed just for this one section."
"Than do not take risks. Stay in there another half hour, get as far as you can and pull back after that."
"Of course, Daughter. And thanks for checking on me." The Countess replied. "I love you. See you soon..."
"I love you too, Mother. Stay safe."
Arianna cut the link and allowed herself to be subsumed once more, her face disappearing into that of the one she had absorbed with a shudder and a ripple.
The kindly Sorceress turned to face Draco once more. David had been busily plucking gems nonstop, politely offering Draco the most brilliant and shiny emerald he had yet spotted.
"There is one spell I would show you. It's called the Spell of Illusion Traps."
The Sorceress hissed out ancient words and her flesh shuddered disgustingly everywhere as the runes appeared on the ground before disappearing.
The Sorceress demonstrated, stepping on the rune trap and an Imperial storm trooper appeared, sounds and all, shooting at her, but the bolts were illusions, and harmless also.
"A well placed illusion trap can distract even the savviest target if done properly. Be warned, the complex the illusion, the more effort it will take."
