Are You an Angel? [Silver Jedi Dominion of Iego]

Luckily for Mark, his small leather satchel had all he needed for three days: some food and drink, a small kit of scientific equipment, and a journal for writing in if he got the chance. He was used to long treks from assorted Archeaological and Xenopaleontological digs he'd been on over the years of his training.
Also in the satchel were his robes, which he kept off for now,but he had a feeling he'd need them at night. He kept his lightsaber on his belt, just in case he needed it at a moment's notice.
"Which could be likely." He thought.
Master Harrison called for them to move out. And so, the journey began.

[SIZE=12pt]However before proceeding inside, Gwrtheyrn added more concerns, the Diathim remained quiet for the moment which Coci took as a concurrence to the situation. Looking upon Gwrtheyrn for a moment regarding his stance, she nodded her understanding of his concerns before replying.[/SIZE]

The conference room allowed for comfortable seating and a table. On the side wall on a bench top, light food and beverages are present to refresh others in need and catered for all tastes. Coci walked and gathered the tray prepared with glass and water and placed it on the table. [/SIZE]

[SIZE=12pt]Cannot an enemy become an alley? Your people have a natural inclination toward behaviours that one would consider, aggressive. To'pau merely nodded and moved forward as his master mentioned his name; though he was glad that he had been recognized. He stayed quiet and let Master Heavenshield handle the diplomatic matters, though he took mental notes as she spoke. To'pau not only looked up to her because she was his Master and he respected her seemingly infinite wisdom, but because of the way she spoke and carried herself. He would liken it to the way a charismatic political spoke, but it was even better. There was no hint of malice or deceit in the way she spoke.

The ideals that Coci described were the primary reasons that To'pau enjoyed his place in the Silver Jedi Order. He knew of no other such organization that regularly helped those that were less fortunate. And that was only one of the many things that the order did. They were also a place of knowledge and learning in the galaxy as well as one of the only forces capable of standing up against the might of the One Sith who attempted to undermine everything that was good about the force. To'pau simply couldn't stand by idly and let that happen, so here he was in the Order. Training so that he could take his place amongst those who put their lives down on the line daily for the betterment of the Galaxy and the people that lived in it.

He followed his Master and the various Diathim and Maelibi delegates into the Oathkeeper. He surveyed the room that he was now inside, and positioned himself next to Coci. He moved the chair that had been tucked in to the side. He grabbed himself a small drink of water and waited for the rest of the Maelibi and Diathim delegates to speak. All the while he calmed his mind and attempted to focus back on the events that were about to unfold in the room.

Objectives:
  • Aid the construction of shelter for the Maelibi community.
  • Establish a medical centre to care for any injured or sick Maelibi.
Once set up properly the medical centre would operate on its own, its staff highly skilled in the art of medicine and healing both. Stepping back outside, Thurion turned his attention to the construction of the platforms upon which the settlement itself was to be built. With [member="Kei Amadis"] helping out the first platform, he rounded up a team and set about to have the second pillar and platform up. Much like Kei's group, the trouble was the platform itself as it needed to be placed perfectly on top of the pillar. Otherwise it could cause major damage to any structures atop it, especially should it occur once people have moved in. For this reason, Thurion closed his eyes and summoned the Force to try and centre it using Telekinesis.

Like a tiny, green Jedi Master once told an impatient Luke Skywalker on Dagobah: "Size matters not". The huge platform was raised from the ground high into the air, slow and steady, before being settled atop the pillar. With the platform in his grasp, Thurion soon found its centre and placed it perfectly balanced. "There," he told the crew between steady breaths. "Go ahead and fasten it. I'll keep it in place for you." It was not a strenuous process for him physically, for the Force was his ally. As little as he chose to use the Force in his daily life, when needed he would let it flow through him like a swift current with great power and precision to achieve his goal.

As the construction crew finished securing the platform, Thurion let his grasp of it go, and he opened his eyes. A sigh of relief left him before unzipping his black leather jacket and tossing it inside one of the medical tents. Time for the hands-on approach.

Walking down a steep incline leading up and away from the congregation of natives and Jedi, Connor looked up into the atmosphere and noted a handful of spheres in the far distance and a couple closer to the planet itself, an awesome sight of just a few of the planets moons. Truly majestic in the light turquoise sky above.

Conversation flowed between the Master, Knight and Padawans about the planet and their own interpretation of events. It took only about 20 minutes – even if time seemed to stand still on the planet – before they came to a large plateau of potholes. Connor stopped before them, looking down into what looked like a boneyard.

There was life ahead, it could be felt in the Force around them and his blue eyes scanned for movement, but there was nothing.

”One of many, I presume.”

He knelt down and placed his hand palm down on the ground.

”We are not alone here – it could be the Maelibi who simply don’t want visitors, or it could be something more sinister. Leave what you don’t need here while we investigate.”

Connor stood and dropped his satchel to the dusty ground. He turned and looked across the eager faces and pointed to one - [member="Eenes Kokad"]

”Ok Padawan. What you feel is best – do we split up into two groups, myself and Ana leading, to cover both ends of these tunnels, or do we move into the tunnels together.”

At this point Kei had not embraced letting the force move through him as a Master might, rather than moving the force itself, something he’d have to accept more of. He only realised this when he saw Grandmaster Heavenshield at work. [member="Thurion Heavenshield"]

“You ready for another.” Someone called over.

Rolling his shoulders around and clapping his hands together, Kei gave a firm nod. This one was going to be the main front gate down, it had a great big secure shutter to put into place, after the support was in. It also meant it was going to be heavy.

The pillar went up much like the first, breathing of the force, letting it into his muscles, not trying as hard which assisted him, following the grandmaster’s example, it went up easier than the last pillar. The adjustments tired him as the platform followed, the droids mostly handling that adjustment themselves thankfully.

Then came the gate. Two great hulking droids either side of the large thick entrance acted as a winch to push the sheet of Durachrome into place, their tracked frames straining under the load. A very resistant alloy, it weighed a ton. Kei had to dig deep, deeper than himself, feeling every slight adjustment of the weight. His eyes closed force energy building, shifting for once he let the force move through him, rather than move the force, and finally with a click it was in.

Kei let out a breath and bent forward to rest his hands on his knees. “Not bad.” The construction supervisor called, hammering the solid chunk of metal with the side of his fist. Kei grinned and leaned up, “not bad.” He agreed, something felt wrong.

Two down…

Someone realised the rotators to lift it were dead…. Putting his palm to his forehead, up it’d need to go again, at least he thought that was what he felt...

Unknown to Kei, one or two local Maelibi were spying the construction site from a distance, their intent unknown.

Tying our plots together if either of you, or any newcomers want the tie or a way in.

Eenes followed the group from the landing site, taking in as much of the environment and location as possible. She was in the process of leaving her food store on the ground when [member="Connor Harrison"] called out to her. "What you feel is best." She stood shocked for a moment that Master Harrison put her on the spot. Forget that, all eyes are on you. She cleared her throat and considered the situation. "I think we can afford to split into groups," she said after a moment. "We'll be able to cover more ground, and if worst comes to worst, one group can come to the other's aid." She hoped it wouldn't come to that, but there were always complications.

Xieza dropped his backpack onto the ground. It seemed like there was about to be some action, if not now, then soon. He agreed with [member="Eenes Kokad"] that it would be best to split into groups. There were many dark holes below them and moving in a single group wouldn't cover much ground. At times, Xieza thought he saw something move around in the holes. He was ready for what was to come.

”So be it – thank you Padawan. I agree. We will take the ground here in - ”

Connor stopped for a second. He glanced over to his left, down over to where the congregation was. One of the Silver Jedi, [member="Kei Amadis"] , was sending a tremor in the Force. Just slightly, but something that just made Connor feel something wasn’t right.

” – we’ll take the ground here in two teams and see what we find.”

He pointed to [member="Xieza Blade"] and [member="Eenes Kokad"].

”You two come with me to the left, and [member="Serana "], [member="Mark Sage"], if you follow Knight [member="Anastasia Rade"] to the right and we will converge at the far end as and when.”

He stepped down the rocky outcropping to the dusty ground below and looked out over the playground of bones of all shapes and sizes, and the numerous holes that led down under the surface. These tunnels were right above the congregation, and if in the wrong hands could be perfect for burrowing around the area to make an impenetrable perimeter.

”Keep active on the com and keep the Force close, and if you don’t feel good about anything you call me and we will come together. This is NOT a test as to who does what better or fast – this is a team effort to see what is in these tunnels and make them safe, or at least make a good start and show whatever is down here that their playtime is over. ”

With a confident nod, and a quick check his lightsaber was still in place, he moved out left.

Master of Her Own Destiny
"Just as I told you before, Taiden. Don't see with your eyes, see with your Force. Now, close your eyes. And see the movement." She said to the young Padawan. Because there were something else that the eye can't see, and she felt it as she got up here. A voice, weak one, asking for help, desperate... and pain, yes. As if it was tortured. The sight could be deceiving, to really see you had to close your eyes. Aside from the mean looking lizard like creatures, this one was civilized. Maybe one of the people living in Iego. She got a slight headache as the voice suddenly turned into scream and held the wall to stay standing. But it was no time to become weak, not now.

And apart from the voice she got from a stranger, she got one from their own, [member="Kei Amadis"], an almost silent message. His species were not good with the Force but she was amazed that he got this far. Because sending messages directly to head would be a tiring job. "Is there something wrong, Kei?" She asked to the man, as she kept her eyes on her Padawan and how he was doing so far. Looking at his disturbed stance, she could understand that it was working, he was feeling the same as she felt just seconds ago.

She was surprised now, more had come and they seemed nice enough as she was given her orders. Turning her head to see [member="Anastasia Rade"] and [member="Mark Sage"] while they were going to the right. She kicked a little stepping forward to look at the woman before bowing her head in respect before she was getting ready to move. Her cloak open for he wings and hooves making small imprints in the ground. "I am ready for your orders master Rade." She wasn't looking to get distracted by what was around them and crawling within her own head would only serve to distract her or endanger the jedi she was here with.

Connection with the force. The first time anyone had asked him to do so, beyond simply fighting or duelling, Taiden closed his eyes, and watched for the predators' movement ahead in the force, as an Echani would, reading from motion once again. There was mist and uncertainty, he was unsure whether he saw what he saw, or whether his mind was playing tricks on him, so astute his focus was on the physical world.

Motion, in the end, this was more natural to him, his teacher had been clever to ask him to look at the force this way, and that clever understanding of his race, guided [member="Nima Tann"] to unlocking the first steps of her student’s potential.

Mist ahead of his vision, slowly white clouds cleared, like an eagle view overhead of the predators, then he saw them actually moving overhead too. A Glider Lizard, dropping down much as you might see a diathim landing softly. Though the lizards were anything but soft and gentle, they were long thin ferocious beasts snapping at each other, at least the alpha males were, moving in a ritual for dominance. Moving to show supremacy, and to let each know their intent to hunt, or to retire, and vying for the female. In reality the female would choose, she held the power, that is what he saw from watching the predators, no matter the posturing from the other three, she sat central and giving small but passing interest enough to each to spur them on.

“They fly Master, they seek to hunt, some seek to retire, there is uncertainty and doubt who leads them,” an unease that was close to him too, her unease. “Master?” His force sight stopped, the reading of the animals intent leaving way to focus on her. Taiden was standing by her side as she leaned, he didn’t immediately reach for her, that was not his race’s way, contact with another was less common, and held more meaning when it happened. “Do you require aid? We can sit.” Her students hand had a subtle glow in the force, a healing touch unrealised, white light like his clothes, shimmering softly through the force.

One thing that staggered Gwrtheyrn was the sheer diversity of form present in the silver Jedi. To the best of the poets knowledge the padawan To’pau Namman was a Naga of some sort - a being that he had only thought to exist within myth. Humans and Twilek Gwrtheyrn had some experience with given that some hardy specimens lived in the more hospitable abodes of Iego. The presence of a winged unicorn that seemed capable of speech however was something that the Maelibus still could not quite fathom.

The gods were either insane or had a warped sense of humor. Not that either of those things were mutually exclusive.

Gwrtheyrn nodded to the lady Heaven-Shields words and gave a slight bow to the serpentine jedi that accompanied her.

"Becoming the prime mover to instigate change is surely important. You have turned the other cheek when it would have been so much easier to simply leave us to our own suffering. As you say change does not occur instantly and I feel that violence will never totally leave our species's nature. In some ways I would have our people make the transition from predators to warriors in truth.
Over the course of my short travels I have heard tell of those who I believe to be your enemies - the Sith. I don't have a particularly comprehensive picture of their ways and if you could perhaps fill me in on their methods and creed that would be helpful. "

Gwrtheyrn took a few moments to compile his thoughts. What he was about to suggest was perhaps somewhat counter to the Jedi ways from what little he understood of them.

"Many of my people are shamed at having to ask help from outsiders. There is confusion as to why the supernatural upset has struck us. Our people need an outlet to their negative emotions otherwise there is the looming chance that they will turn to rage and be taken out upon each other and those who only wish to help them.

In short let me turn the Sith into the object of my peoples ire. I do not know if they were responsible for the breach into the netherworld but it seems highly likely that they had something to do with it. The Sith with their antagonistic manner and esoteric cloak of mystery and deception make for a tangible and even better yet plausible target for the rage of the inhabitants of Iego.
Rumors across the cosmos speak of countless atrocities committed by these fathers of lies so even if they were innocent in this one case what they received would in the end be just retribution.

Give the Maelibi purpose and you will witness a unity that has not existed on this planet for countless millennium. My people will become as one and the Sith will wish they had never uttered the first blasphemous prayer that set them on the path to damnation. Something dormant will be awakened and they will know terror greater than any of their victims."

The poet looked first to the graceful human woman then to the sinuous reptile near her. In an ideal world he would not need to offer such a savage solution but this was reality and pragmatism was paramount in such things.

The Sith, where would one start to explain them? Coci took a moment to consider her thoughts on this subject firstly before she would speak. Her face held neutral but her eyes would tell of the internal working of her mind.

"The Sith have a Code, but it is a Code they use in order to bring destruction to the galaxy. Their philosophy is centered around themselves and themselves only. They will say otherwise, but I have seen much devastation to peoples of the galaxy at the hands of the Sith. They will say they bring peace and order to world in need of it, but they do so on their terms only, they subjugate, set fear in the hearts of people in bring about their definition of peace. They serve up peace with a heavy price to pay and that is paid by millions and the cost of their freedom and more often then not, their lives".

"But the Sith also pay a price for their use of the dark side of the force, they use the dark side in order to achieve power, to become more powerful so they may gain more as individuals, to bring further fear to the all. The dark side consumes them, eventually they will loss themselves to it, it eats away their very soul and eventually they will become nothing, but a conduit of evil". She hoped that her answer would help his understand somewhat, the subject simply to vast to explain in this time. Now she would consider a purpose for his people and again she thought.

"Your desire to see you people given a purpose is the first step to change, I do understand your concern and it is warranted. We have facilities and warriors in which could train your people to become warriors of purpose to fight those that not only wish to cause pain and suffering to you and your people, to fight alongside us in our purpose to remove the evils of that plague the galaxy. There is more than the Sith to fight and we shall do so until no Jedi remain. Would this be something your people would consider to do?".

Out of the hyperspace come a large ship, it wasn't like a war ship but one of another nature. It came with the aid that had been requested by the High Council in this matter at hand. It would to ones by surprise to learn of the one that would put out a direct call in to her fellow silvers already on the ground.

<<Attention fellow Silver this is Master Healer Whitelight as requested, I got supplies and medical equipment on board.>>

Not sitting to wait for a response over seeing that all was being ready in dropships as requested after they left hyperspace. In a way she was just the oversee her. More than so then that she would go down with the supplies to do some hands on. After all she wasn't one to just sit by without lending a hand.

To'pau nodded in agreement as his Master spoke. This meeting merely confirmed what he had already known. She was truly a paragon of the ways of the Silver Jedi Order. To'pau would be sure to do whatever he could so to reach that same level of seemingly infinite commitment and knowledge. He turned and studied the Maelibi delegate, wondering what his response to such a speech would be and how well they would take their response.

This far away Kei’s sense of what [member="Nima Tann"] said was distant, only heard at all because their time spent working together, he picked up the word ‘wrong’ but that was it. An epicanthx’s mind was impregnable but often darned useless when it came to telepathy.

Sending, and failing to do so very well, that he was ~having problems with the gate.~ His communication to her would be like soft static, the words part there, and part not. Now she mentioned it, did he sense something else? His force sense pushed out, looking for something in the distance that wasn’t there.

“Anything wrong Amadis?” The foreman called over.

“Probably nothing.” Stretching his arms up to relax them, time to get that gate up! That’s exactly what they did, this time with all the rotators and circuits in place properly, dropping it gently, it sent a large push of earth up into the air.

~Probably nothing~, Kei sent through the force to [member="Nima Tann"], except now there were three or four maelibi onlookers, scouts that were mulling around underground and on the surface, keeping out of sight, but definitely there, and they were calling others.

Birthing chambers – The nursery.

The birthing chamber design was different to the other platforms. Reptilian burrowers the Maelibi needed their young to learn to burrow, so they needed a huge amount of earth for their eggs, and their young, raised above on the platforms, creating a nursery. After the platform was up, they had to carefully move this large tank of earth into place. A few friendly female Maelibus were nearby, and they were not at all happy with how it looked. Delicate negotiations were ongoing in the camp to make a safe nesting area for the young, probably one of the most important platforms they’d be putting up today.

"Yes Lady I vouch for what elements of my people fall within my political dominion that we would gladly accept both your martial schooling and cause. Honestly before these events I was considered a pariah and outcast due to my fascination regarding alien beings and customs. Now the same ones who had previously shunned my presence are looking to me for guidance.

This task both elates and frightens me in equal measure. As a poet I am expected to act as a historian and adviser to the chieftain of my clan drawing from my knowledge of events long past for direction in the present. However our old songs have nothing speaking of such matters as face us now and I feel that I must expand my repository of memories to include whatever lore may be gleaned from your order."

Noticing that Lyala though polite enough to not make an issue of it had something to say on matters Gwrtheyrn advanced his speech. Being a logophile even among a species so enamored with song and poetry as the Maelibi Gwrtheyrn had to stop himself from devolving into longwinded tangents.

"If you would have me I would join your order as either a warrior or chronicler. I possess some gifting with what is known as the force though I was not trained as a shaman or druid. Let me serve your ideals in return for the education of my species."

Gwrtheyrn turned to To'pau smiling warmly.

"Any reservations I had of the Jedi accepting one as removed as I from what seems to be galactic norm have withered at the sight of you master To'pau. Do not take this the wrong way but if someone as physically different to both myself and Lady Heaven-shield is welcomed within your ranks then I shall be little cause for comment. If you would be so kind please tell me when we have a moment about what your initiation to the Jedi was like and what distant world you hailed from. I must say the idea of an entire planet of Naga fascinates me immensely."

Gwrtheyrn's experience with sentient life so far had mostly been restricted to those beings that like his kind , Diathim and Humans bore two arms two legs and a head. Something that bore more resemblance to a four armed serpent was a wonderful curiosity to behold.

Taking a seat and motioning to the Diathim delegate Layla Gwrtheyrn readied himself for whatever was said next.

[member="Coci Heavenshield"] @To'pau Namman

Throught out the entire discussion the Diathim had remained silent, politely allowing Gwrtheyrn to speak on behalf of his people. The aura issuing from Lyala, is one of serenity and calmness, which filled the room and influenced the discussions as well as the beings within it. Lyala still, in Coci's eyes, had the visage of her mother and Coci could not help but marvel at this, and realised her loss more greatly than ever before. Now she is about to become a mother, it hit her just how much she missed her own mother and could do with her advice in the coming weeks. These thoughts played at the back of her mind.

However, she returned her attention to the immediate "I believe the Order of the Silver Jedi could only benefit from you, Gwrtheyrn of Iego and your people joining us in our constant fight for the freedom of others, the protection of those that require it and to serve without selfish ambition".

"Grand Master [member="Thurion Heavenshield"], will be delighted as will all of the Order to have such noble peoples within our members. I sense you to have a connection to the Force, that too the Order will be able to train and help you understand, if you so desire. The journey, the path that we take as Jedi is a long one, and no one ever reaches a full understanding of it, but that is where the journey has reward, to gain knowledge, and understanding, to control the Force in order to better ourselves to serve. It is a hard life, one that will test you to your limits both of physical strenght as well as of the mind".

"Padawan Namman has begun that journey", she bow her head to her Padawan in respect to a being that will walk the path and face the dangers to come, and she knows he has worked hard to better his skills in order to do so.

"Lady Lyala, I ask you for your concerns for Iego and to speak".

No movement came from the body of the Diathim, only the slow turn of her radiant head to face the delegation.

"Master Jedi Heavenshield, Padawan Namman and my esteemed Gwrtheyrn, my heart is laden with joy for we the Diathim of Iego seek no more than peace for our planet and moons", she turned more to Gwrtheyrn. "Gwrtheyrn son of Hyledd my people desire to live in harmony with the Maelibi to only see the progress to build a better Iego together, I ask you .. is this something your people would wish?", she voice lyrical and soothing to the senses.

As the Maelibi delegate turned his admittedly frightening gaze towards him, To'pau couldn't help but let a look of surprise flash across his face. He had not expected to be addressed in this meeting at all, and To'pau wouldn't have minded. He was quite content to let those more experienced then he hash out the terms of things that were far out of his depth. Yet he couldn't help but feel a small flash of joy as he was included in the conversation and spoken to as an equal.

Considering Gwrtheym's words, he responded slowly. Keeping his tone measured."I would be happy to speak to you about my people and our planet as well as recount some of the customs and traditions of the Silver Jedi whenever you would desire. Any time is convenient to me as long as long as M-Coci approves of it." A small smile was seen as he mentally corrected himself. "My journey as a Padawn has just started; and though I know I have tough times ahead of me. I would not trade it for anything in the world."

Glad that he'd been included, To'pau sat quietly a grin on his face. He couldn't help but relax as the Diathim delegate spoke. An aura of calming feels seemed to surround her. 'These people truly are a sight to see. I can see now how some people might confuse this beautiful race with the angels described in the various children's stories across the galaxy. We are doing a good thing here, uniting these two people.
