Sliding down an incline of a tunnel, he turned and shouted up to the two Padawans.

”Watch your footing – loose terrain.”

Wiping the dirt from his hands, armor already messy, Connor took his lightsaber and ignited it with a snap-hiss of energy, casting a blue glow around the narrow catacomb ahead. Walking forward slowly, the blade humming as a makeshift glow rod, Connor cast his eyes around the tunnel and saw carvings, small bones and charred remains of fire.

There was a tremor in the Force around them, that much he felt, and he heard a sound ahead like a low flutter and rumble. Eyes narrowing, Connor turned sideways.

”I think we may have disturbed something – remember, they will snatch you away in a heartbeat.”

Eyes narrowing, Connor turned sideways as the flurry of Xandu came towards them, making it look like the ceiling tunnel above them was rippling with movement.

Master of Her Own Destiny
Being so lost in thoughts, she knew that her Padawan would worry for her. But she couldn't stop thinking about the scream and want for help. "Taiden. It's okay. Thank you." Taking the strength from the wall of tower she managed to stand up, and Taiden was learning, she felt his healing touch which stopped the scream in her mind. "We... There is something going on here that is more complex than we thought. North of the creatures there is someone that needs our help." She told her Padawan, eager to help and full of bravery.

"I felt something while searching the lizards. A scream, faint message for help. A good amount of energy. Taiden, I need to investigate this. But we have a mission here, to protect those people. What do you say?" She asked his opinion. Yes, curiosity was getting the best of her but Jedi were strict in their missions. But what if... they atack them before the creatures attack? This would be good solution as it is.

Her eyes were locked in the creatures movements. They were foreign to her, she didn't know their weaknesses, strengths. But only way to find out was in the battle.

Objectives: Aid the construction of the shelter for the friendly Maelibi community.
Location: Maintaining the Droids
Allies: [member="Thurion Heavenshield"] | [member="Kei Amadis"]

An engineer at heart Fyor was a wizard when it came to droids, there was no doubt about it. However the models he was working on was beyond anything he’d touched before, the size of a small house. The Lorrdian quirked a brow when one's huge head turned around to look at him.

“We will be moving again presently, by all means run a diagnostic on your primary systems.”

Sad it was he had lost his lifelong droid friend to [member="Niaana Ren"] ’s assassination attempt, but to be here around his usual mechanical friends, hydro oil splattered all of his face, brown Jedi robes dirty with his labors, he was in his element. The platforms were coming up bit by bit, the nursery was still in negotiation, heated as it were between the locals and builders, all about to be assisted by a considered engineers eye!

“Excuse me ladies and gentlemen, if can I have your undivided and most learned attention.” Fyor cleared his throat, he was one for speeches. His artificial eyes skipping around the proposed layout of the structures, he calculated the flaws and rebalanced the weight. “If you will just attend to these most minor corrections of your plans, I am certain that you will find everything to your liking.”

Fyor had two modes, flamboyant over the top speeches, and over analytical meandering, usually a mix of both. Nobody was sure what to make of him, so they just got on with what they were doing, changes in hand. Typical! He was better of speaking to droids!

As per his sig, he’s in the background

Lyala's question was perhaps the hardest one posed to the poet thus far.Unlike the two Jedi the Diathim was a fellow resident of Iego and thus thought of more as a simple fact of life. Grass grew , birds sung and the Diathim soared through the sky far above the earthbound inhabitants of the planet. It was almost as if a river had sloshed up from its bed and asked if Gwrtheyrn would like some fresh fish drawn from its insides. Even though Gwrtheyrn was dimly aware that it was the Diathim who had arranged the meeting he had expected for Layla to attempt to secure promises of Jedi assistance for her own people.

The subtle rhapsody of Gwrtheyrn's mind spun and wove a response to the radiant figure.

"Lady I feel the greatest gift you could bestow upon our people is as role models. By accepting and working in with the Jedi you can display the advantages of throwing off the shackles of isolationism and aggression. As you know Maleibi are stubborn but if they notice your people flourish they will strive to prove that they may be just as prosperous."

Returning his attention to the serpentine padawan Gwrtheyrn replied to To'pau.

"I would enjoy that immensely. It would give us something to talk about on the way to headquarters."

(Sorry that the reply is a bit short this time got a case of the flu and am feeling pretty out of it.)

Objectives:
  • Aid the construction of shelter for the Maelibi community.
It was tiring work, building homes for the homeless, but also gratifying knowing it would provide safety and comfort for a people lacking both. With the entirety of the construction crew hard at work erecting additional pillars and platforms, this initial effort would be completed as predicted. While Iego was a mystical place where time had little to no impact on those who reside there, the rest of the galaxy was not as fortunate and the Silvers would sooner or later be needed elsewhere.

Wiping the beads of sweat from his brow, Thurion took a step back to get an overview of their combined efforts. [member="Connor Harrison"]'s team were off exploring the nearby cave network, [member="Coci Heavenshield"] was still enacting diplomacy alongside the Maelibi and Diathim representatives, and [member="Maya Whitelight"]'s recent arrival meant she was heading the medical efforts. [member="Kei Amadis"] had proven ambitious in his aiding the construction of the village, assisting the crew with cool determination. All in all, things were going smoothly.

Of course, that's when the ground began to rumble. "Oh, bother..." he voiced his concerns for what he feared would happen. He turned to the busy crew. "Get down from there! Now!" Confused looks were shot his way moments before the ground surrounding one of the pillars erupted into clouds of dust as more Demons appeared, with these ones not looking as happy to see them. The pillar had not yet been fully fastened, and so it started to sway as the ground beneath it gave way, leaving the men and women still on it holding on for dear life. About to fall right on top of him, Thurion secured his footing and used the Force to slow it down enough that once it hit ground, he'd already stepped aside and the construction crew could easily jump off and get to safety.

"This is Thurion Heavenshield, calling all frequencies! The site is under attack! Repeat - the construction site is under attack!" His lightsaber hilt found his palm and its azure blade shot out. "Everyone drop everything and form a defensive perimeter around the medical centre! Coci - secure the representatives!" Looking around him to find he was quickly surrounded by the hulking creatures, Thurion stood his ground with his Jedi weapon at the ready. Maelibi hides were thick and offered protection against most blaster bolts and even brief contact with energy weapons, so facing them head-on could prove tricky. They also rock a nasty set of claws and horns, so there's that to consider as well.

New Objective!
  • Repel the attacking Maelibi and defend the medical centre.

Xieza had followed [member="Connor Harrison"] into the dark tunnel. Nothing could be seen inside the tunnel. It was too dark, until Conner ignited his lightsaber that is. When he did that, it seemed as if there was a small earthquake. That wasn't the case. There were many creatures in this tunnel that were disturbed by the sudden ignition of Conner's saber. As this was happening, [member="Thurion Heavenshield"] called over an open channel to inform everyone that the site was under attack. This was not good. Xieza knew that they must get back to the site as soon as possible, but the approaching creatures in the dark may distract them for a short time. He then shouted to Conner for guidance.

"Master Harrison, what do we do?"

The talks between the three representatives had been progressing well. An understanding had been reached between the Silver Jedi and [member="Gwrtheyrn"] and the Maelibi he represented this day, the Diathim and Maelibi would work toward setting a peace between the two primary races of the system of Iego and Coci was about to complete the discussion turning her attention to Lady Lyala to secure relations with the Diathim. But that was all interrupted with a call to arms from her beloved [member="Thurion Heavenshield"].

Who had attacked, she had no idea at this moment, but she stood immediately, "We shall postpone this meeting until the threat is nullified", she turned to her Padawan which a look of concern, something is out of place, she could sense it. Through telepathic communication she would speak to her To'pau.

Escort Lady Lyala to my personal quarters toward the back of the Oathkeeper and secure her their, then join me outside, I want to see what is going on. Coci gave To'pau the access code to both the room and the Oathkeeper, When you have done that, lock down the Oathkeeper.

"Lady Lyala please allow Padawan Namman to take you to a secure quarters, please make yourself comfortable. I must insist you remain there until the Silver Jedi have regained the area and removed the threat to you". She bowed low to the Diathim representative.

Her attention now focused on Gwrtheyrn, now was the time for action. "It seems your willingness to join the Silver Jedi in a fight against those that threat the freedoms and peace of others has come to you soon. If you would, please accommpany me to assist in restoring harmony for your fair planet".

There would never be a time for her to remain behind and allow others to fight, it is not her nature to stay on the ship and watch and so Coci walked to the ramp and exited the Oathkeeper. The sight before them unsettling to say the least, as many Maelibi erupted from subterrean to attack the construction site. Coci turned her gaze and set her eyes on the face of Gwrtheyrn, searching for his reaction and answers.

During our darkest moments, is when we must see th
Everything had been going swimmingly. His Master had deftly handled the negotiations between the two species. Making centuries of constant conflict and hate seem almost meaningless and trivial when faced with a vision of what the future could hold. Coci was just about to finish up the finer points of their treaty with the Diathim when a strange look came over her face. Being telepathically linked to her in a certain sense, To'pau could feel the anxiety and bewilderment that now seemed to resonate from Coci. His suspicions were confirmed as soon as she telepathically contacted him.

He listened to her message patiently, before responding back the same way she had sent the message to him.. 'Right away Coci. No harm will become the Diathim delegate while I protect her. Once I accomplish this task I will meet you outside.' Once he finished speaking with Coci, his Lightsaber immediately flew into his hand though he held off on igniting it. He did not wish to incite panic in the Diathim representative. He motioned for her to follow him and he raced towards the back of the Oathkeeper.

After a minute or so of navigating through the ships corridors he found a room that seemed like it would be suitable. He ushered her in and he struggled to find the right words to say so that he might calm the representative down. That was until he realized the representative was handling the situation even better then he was. Her face was calm, and she exuded an aura of calmness. She smiled at him, and thanked him for the help. These words seemed to assure any senses of doubt that he might have. 'She has probably been in situations as straining as this, if not more. She will be fine.'

He secured her quarters and headed to the cockpit of the Oathkeeper. Upon reaching it, his hands quickly blurred across the keyboard as he typed in the proper commands to lock down the ship. Once this was done, he raced towards the doors of the ship. He quickly punched in the code so that he might be let out. He raced down the ramp as the door closed behind him. His eyes surveyed the scene until they fell upon Coci. He quickly moved in to place beside her and ignited his Lightsaber ready for any combat they might face.

"Very well Lady Heavenshield let my prove that my words are not simply hollow promises and vain boasting."

Already Gwrtheyrn could hear the warsong of the rival clan. It was at the moment in a pitch unrecognizable by most alien ears - though this would change as the battle drew on. In the chorus he could hear singular voices calling for him to show himself and face judgement.

"Also Lady if you could broadcast to your fellow that some form of ear protection is necessary with in bouts with my kind I feel that it would avert a great tragedy. Our songs can be hypnotic to those who encounter them unawares. "

With that the poet stood and drew the great sword from his back. Covered in runes detailing the history of his family line it stood twelve feet tall and weighed nearly as much as To'pau and Coci combined. Herculean muscles that would make a Wookie roar with jealousy strained as Gwrtheyrn tensed himself for action. Gwrtheyrn was foremost a poet - but all of his race were warriors in some capacity (and weren't the old epics all filled with slaughter and mayhem?). The simple potential for sheer terrorizing violence that lurked within him eclipsed lesser hunters such as Trandoshans and Barabel and he was about to let it loose.

Praying to whatever spirits would listen Gwrtheyrn hoped that the ensuing carnage would not undo some of the trust he had gained from the lady Coci.

Then there was motion. Sudden brilliant motion as a being the size of a prize bull accelerated from nothing to golden memory in the space of a heartbeat.

The choir of battle was becoming more audible now and in it Gwrtheyrn heard a personal challenge. The voice was unmistakable, tectonic and seething with long curdled malice. It was Crannock son of Aiobreg. Tall and vast he possessed long horns that signified sexual and martial potency within the Maelibi culture. The young warrior was not of noble lineage being descended from a miner and was shackled with his hereditary trade. It was no secret however that Crannock desired to be a chieftain and had at one point in time been caught lying with his clan leaders first born daughter. This had earned him a truly savage beating but if anything the experience had only increased his appetite for brash behavior. He had been one of the first and most vocal to speak out on the matter of Gwrtheyrn's fascination with the other peoples that shared the universe with them. The poet was if one listened to his barbed comments a lapdog of the aliens and would lead all of Iego into slavery.

Gwrtheyrn knew that the Jedi could sense hatred and rage and thus he tried to quash the emotions down into the depths of his soul. When Crannock came into view however the task became a momentous event. In one hand the firebrand held a dual headed maul easily matching Gwrtheyrn's sword in mass and in the other he held the torso of a relief worker. Entrails hung down as Crannock took a bloody bite of offal making sure to let the poet see every gory instant.

The flat of Gwrtheyrn's blade caught the opponent in the side cracking golden carapace and lifting him off his feet. Maelibi did not usually employ weapons against intruders preferring to hunt with their teeth and talons but against an opponent of equal size and armor such clashes could take grueling hours of agony before a victor emerged. Already recovering from the first blow Crannock's hammer slammed into a chunk of masonry half the size of a speeder bike launching it into the poets face. Staggering from the impact of the makeshift missile Gwrtheyrn barely had time to bring his greatsword up to block two crushing strikes aimed at his already bloodied head.

On the third fall of the hammer Gwrtheyrn parried causing the bludgeon to far miss its mark. This was followed by a swift pommel bash to Crannock's nose and while the enemy landed a wild haymaker to the poets chest in retaliation Gwrtheyrn's answering kick sent the berserk foe stumbling back several paces.

A single second of peace in the middle of the conflict. Both sides drawing their breath and regaining a semblance of focus.

And then there was only mayhem.

Scrolls of Taiden Keth #Entry 51 Maelibus on Maelibus

Motion, energy underground, the rush of earth. "Master I sense something!” Taiden gained force sense, from motion, and quite acute it would become while someone was walking or rushing, in this case pulling the earth apart! From beyond the predators, he looked the other way. Whatever was keeping the predators at bay had just reared its head at the settlement.

BOOM

A large sonic horn blasted its way across the landscape, the crack of supersonic energy discharged, causing a rush of air. Heads raised up, the predatory lizards took to the air almost in unison, diving off their perch. Something or someone had called them to join the assault.

Assault on the settlement:

Burrowing Maelibi reptilians from below.
Glider Lizard’s from above.
And one Mysterious Sage with the command of nature at his fingertips.

Taiden looked toward Nima, large winged reptilian creatures jumping high to swoop toward the platformed settlement, the Jedi had their hands full. Watching them glide down toward them, he was ready to go, hold the rock like he'd fly off himself if given the word, but he was disciplined, and waited for his Master’s call, following immediately if she did and he had a surprise himself!

Objectives: Defend the Shelter!
Under attack from Maelibi below ground.
Under attack from Glider-Lizards above ground.

Kei’s military training took over at a time like this, how many times had he been attacked at a fixed position, quite a few. “Escort the civilians back inside the medical center.” The Epicanthx called out to the nearest padawan. Following Grandmaster’s [member="Thurion Heavenshield"]’s instruction. Ever since his young early academy days alongside [member="Vulpesen"], when the men had fought alongside each other, Kei had wanted to be out front. It was his nature to act as a shield for those behind, it always had been.

Only right now there was no front, because they were facing burrowers from below, and flying gliding lizards from above. A coordinated attack, coming from some sort of sonic signal which rallied them, who had made the call?!

[member="Thurion Heavenshield"] wouldn’t find himself surrounded for long! Kei extended force stun to breach a hole and freeze one of the grandmaster's attackers, giving him breathing room and a distraction. The creature's nervous system locked up, and found itself slumping to fall unconscious but alive. Kei did however draw the attention of some creatures himself, dodging a swiping arm, he blocked another attack with his lightsaber and the creature howled away in pain.

They were everywhere, he couldn’t protect everyone like this, “get all the padawans inside the medical center, protect the friendly maelibus but stay inside!” He called to another passing apprentice, moving with the force, a solid horizontal swipe of Djem So to block another attacker. He felt something... the ground rumbled and he had to vault upwards, one burrower almost came up underneath him!

Vaulting up and clear, in the chaos he ended up going straight into a glider lizard's clutches, which grabbed the Epicanthx unexpectedly! Damned it, he struggled in its grip, its head turning to face him.

As Nagate ran back towards the camp, he was greeted with a pair of Maelibus as they sprang from the dirt ahead of him and were running for the camp.

"Oh no you don't!"

Nagate put all of his Force energy into his legs and sprinted up to them and lashed out with a spining head kick, sending the pair sprawling into the dirt. They shook their heads and rose. Their grotesque visages now clear to the youn Jedi, as they turned and charged him.

Nagate took a defensive stance and with a quick shift , sidestepped the first attack, then stepped in to counter the second with chop into the jugular of the beast, dropping it into inconsciousness. Turning quickly to catch the second Maelibi as it bull rushed him to the ground. The struggle shifted and thrashed on as Nagate worked on getting into a more aggresive position. The Maelibi made the mistake of allowing Nagate to get into a full guard and when the creature swung in, it's arm was caught, locked and rolled onto, dislocating it's shoulder. As it screamed in pain, Nagate gained the mount and pummeled it's face into the dirt until it lay motionless.

The situation escalated rapidly, the Maelibi attacked the construction site with their natural aggression to hunt, or at least that is how she viewed it. If the motive was more than this, and they wished to disrupt the talks and not wish for unity with the Diathim and Silver Jedi, diplomacy would take a lot more than what they achieved today. As suggested she opened all channels of communication to the Silver Jedi.

"Use whatever means necessary to block the sound from the Maelibi, it will manipulate you". Coci had remembered all to well the influence of their voices, back in the Garden of Thorns she had just about fell under it's spell, if it had not been for Thurion and the others that day. She turned to To'pau, "Stay close to me".

Coci moved toward the construction site and quickly stood beside Thurion and placed her hand on his arm, "We need to stop this, and not through aggression. It will only give them more reason to reject any aid we offer or friendship", she considered. "The building can be rebuilt, friendships take longer if at all when damaged. We must show that our word is true, that we come to extend the hand of friendship and peace without agenda and with a want for change in attitudes, on both sides. Not answer aggression with aggression". Of course Coci understood that this may not work and that the Maelibi have a need or lust for the fight or that this is a small group opposed to Gwrtheyrn and the majority of the Maelibi.

Gwrtheyrn had moved to attack, to subdue the leading Maelibi, and this did not sit well with Coci. The idea of him attacking his own people after talks of wanting to change and pursue a new avenue for their purpose within the Maelibi only illustrated to her this would take a lot of time and work between the two parties. Natural inclination, or an innate behaviour written on the soul something that may never be fully erased or rather controlled.

As the com crackled into life, Connor ducked as a flurry of the winged creatures flew overheard, and [member="Xieza Blade"] called out for guidance.

”An order is an order, Padawan – get back out and head to the site, quickly!”

Connor stood and jumped back a few steps, keeping his blade pointed outwards to the tunnel ahead, ushering the group back.

”Go, go – move. Native beasts aren’t a concern when the lives of allies and friends are.”

Standing ground, Connor used his blade as a deterrent for the Xandu as they grazed their heads with talons and wings. The Padawans had to get out quickly, because Connor wouldn’t leave until they were safe.

Following close behind Connor and Xieza, Eenes heard the recall order from Grandmaster Heavenshield and Connor's order. She clambered back up the rock face and paused for a moment at the top, gathering herself. Here goes nothing. Wrapping herself in the Force and letting it flow through her limbs, she took off at an incredible speed back toward the site - not as fast as some, perhaps, but it certainly took less time to return than it had to leave.
Breathing heavily, she returned to the camp just in time to see a pair of Maelibi hunters coming over the hill. Well, this is awkward. Reaching into the strength she still had, she projected an illusion into their minds - a trio of Jedi Masters, fire in their eyes and blades drawn, charging down the slope toward them. The demons shrieked and ran.
Relieved but drained, Eenes turned toward the camp. This was far from over.

After finishing off the two attacking devils, Nagate moved to the SJ medical center. He came upon one that was an apparent contact with the local populi and would keep an eye on him for the foreseeable future. Not actually wanting to, Nagate reluctantly pulled out his saber and ignited it's bright blue blade. Twirling the blade in his hand, Nagate prepared for the next attack to come.

Straight ahead this one came. Wielding a strange bladed weapon, Nagate sprinted forth with a lightening quick burst of speed gained from the Force, he met the brandished weapon with a disarming strike to the pommel of the devil blade. Without it's weapon, it wasn't as interested in striking the lightsaber wielding Padawan. Nagate struck first, woth the Force, bringing the devil to him and giving it a good backhand chop to the throat, leaving it gasping for air as Nagate moved on to the next attacker.

Never aiming to kill, Nagate would work on just disabling the attackers where they stood. Speed on his side, and a focused mind allowed him to aboid the mystical songs of the Maelibi.

The thoughts were all lost, as she felt the immediate change of Force, they were attacking. Quickly taking her lightsaber from its hilt she activated it and shouted to Taiden. "Be careful, activate your lightsaber and stay near me." Giving him the instructions, she examined the area. Flying lizards, that was a new thing. But more important thing was, a Force signature among them, someone who was controlling them. She came eye to eye with the person, or was it a person? She couldn't tell because of the mask. But they were unprepared for this, and pretty much outnumbered. She slayed one, two... But they kept coming and coming. This had to stop. "Taiden, inform the commander about this and tell him to prepare his soldiers for a counter attack, I'll hold them off." She said to her Padawan, taking her defensive stance. The tower was a little far from the village they were protecting, and she didn't expect something like that from mindless creatures. The one they were dealing right now, wasn't one of them.

The padawan hesitated, but Nima had already decided this. After taking a hit from the lizard's teeth, she talked again cleaning the blood from her face. "Taiden, go! I'll be okay." One of the monsters come towards her diving, dodging it at the last second, she swung her lightsaber towards its belly, and it collapsed to the ground, taking the hit. "By the Force, why it has to go always like that." She came eye to eye with the Sage, seeing her he jumped from the lizard's back to ground, surprising her with a quick attack, almost hitting. The duel started between them, and he was definitely strong. She hoped that the reinforcements would come soon.

As [member="Connor Harrison"] answered his call for guidance, Xieza ran and jumped out of the tunnel. The Xandu flew past him, overhead. Xieza, then, darted off towards the site. It was a troubling message to hear that the site was being attacked. Why would anything want to attack someone who has come to help. Xieza hoped that he would make it back to the site in time to help.

It took a while to get to the site, but when he got there, it seemed like chaos. Maelibi were attacking from many directions. When Xieza decided to join in on this dominion, he didn't expect to see something like this happen. It was turning into a warzone. Xieza ignited his lightsaber as he stood at the entrance to the site.

"Well... here goes nothing."

He, then, charged into the battle of the site.

Out of the corner of his eye a charging [member="Kei Amadis"] appeared, stunning one of his attackers. This prompted the remaining Maelibi to charge him, however, enraged at the sight of their comrade getting blindsided. Dodging and weaving through their viscious attacks, his lightsaber parried horns and claws alike in a flurry of blue, chipping away at them. A concentrated burst of telekinetic energy put them on the ground long enough for Thurion to fling his lightsaber towards the glider lizard currently thinking of having Kei for dinner. His saber sliced the creature open before returning to him, leaving the two halves to plummet to the ground.

By that point [member="Coci Heavenshield"] appeared, heavily pregnant and all. "Feel free to try and talk them down," he replied with cool sarcasm. A new wave of Maelibi showed up, prompting Thurion to put himself between them and Coci. "Can you fight?" he reluctantly asked. Reaching out to one of the remaining pillars he'd helped construct moments earlier, he caused it to come loose and fall right on top of his attackers. As it did, he turned and grabbed hold of Coci and kept her close to protect her from the cloud of dust emitted by the collapsing pillar. "If you can't fight I need you to get to safety. If not for your sake then for his," he added, referring to their unborn son in this brief moment of respite.
