Tarw had finally located his target. It had taken weeks to get them isolated from others and he had to make sure that this was the real opportunity, since there would be no second chance if he messed it up. The mission had come up a few weeks back and it was an opportunity that he would not be able to back down.

She was tough, there was no doubt about that and he needed to make sure that she couldn't overpower him. Though, if it came down to physical strength, he doubted there would be much of a competition, he was incredibly strong himself if he was honest with his skills. While his other skills needed work, his raw physical strength was something few could match without extra help. That was to say, he needed to be quick, attack in a surprising manner and ensure that this target was taken down swiftly. When she headed down an alleyway that was isolated, out of view of cameras and witnesses, Tarw knew that this was his chance. He had one chance to succeed.

Moving surprisingly quiet for his size, Tarw rushed forward and wrapped his arm around the neck of the target. Squeezing tightly, Tarw was making sure to cut off the airway and render the woman unconscious. He needed to disable her as fast as possible and then... Well, then that was his higher ups problem. Kicking at the back of the knees, he controlled the situation and while there were elbows being slammed into his sides that caused him to grunt, the fight was dying as she couldn't maintain consciousness for much longer. Dropping the body, he placed his hands on his hips.

"This was possibly the hardest part of this mission now." Tarw muttered to himself. "Though this bit is gunna be the very awkward part..."

An hour later...

"General Noble, I was able to retrieve the stormtrooper armour for us both." Tarw stood to attention and saluted the general as he reported the success of the beginning portion of this undercover work.

He was very excited to be working with the legendary Jedi General on a mission, it was an opportunity to see a Jedi Master in action, learning how they worked and give a chance for Tarw to demonstrate his own skills in combat. Tarw was a little stiff, since he didn't know the Jedi Master personally too well, he didn't want to be too casual in his communication with her. Doing well here meant that others would see the strengths and potential that he had as a rookie and give him a chance to push forward as a soldier.

Guiding the Jedi Master to where the armour was, Tarw looked back, "apologies for the time it took, finding a stormtrooper that fitted your particular physique was challenging." Tarw explained and paused, coughed and clarified in a hurried tone, "which is a great physique... wait, no... I meant... ahem..." He blushed a little pink on his dark cheeks as he realised the stumble he had made. "I meant that you have a very athletic physique which is impressive but not common, even amongst stormtroopers it seems." He breathed out a sigh and hoped that he hadn't stumbled himself into any trouble.

Opening a door, he entered the room and revealed the two sets of stormtrooper armour. "Hopefully neither of these will be too tight. We don't want to draw too much attention to us..." Tarw commented as he started to store his usual weapons away since they would draw too much attention. Especially his beskad.

"I'm not a General, but I appreciate the hard work." Valery looked at him with a smile. This was going to be their first time working together, so she understood if he was a little nervous. Back when she was a young Jedi without much experience, teaming up with well-known Jedi had been exciting and daunting for her as well. He was no Jedi, of course, but the cooperation between the military and Jedi made it to where he'd likely feel the same.

As he made evident, when he stumbled over his words, discussing the armor.

"It's quite alright," she said and chuckled. "Surprising that there wasn't a direct match, though. Soldiers are typically in good shape, too." Not that being in good shape was the only requirement for fitting armor. Valery was a woman with curves, and mixing that with muscle wasn't always easy.

But he had figured that out himself and she wasn't going to make him stumble again.

"What's the plan once we're in armor?" Valery asked as she followed him inside. Already, she began to inspect the armor meant for her, before she started to undress to get into the undersuit of the armor. There was no time to waste, and soldiers were used to changing into gear around each other.

When informed that Valery was not a general, Tarw felt silly, it was something that he had read about the Jedi holding rank of general back in the days of the Republic and such. However, Valery seemed to be helpful in soothing any nerves he felt and it was greatly appreciated.

As soon as they stood in front of the armour, Valery began to strip and prepare to put the tight undersuit on. Tarw blinked and looked away, he couldn't help but be surprised she was comfortable to change in front of him. But he supposed it was no big issue, this was a job and they needed to get on with it. Tarw began to remove his own clothing, going down to his loose briefs and started to don the black bodysuit.

It was tight and clung to his body like a second skin. The suit helped show off his muscle definition and helped showed off his ab muscles. The plates of the stormtrooper armour were the never items to put on. He started with the thigh armour segments. "The mission is to infiltrate a known imperial base on Taris, there is a risk that they might hold some Alliance military secrets and we need to destroy those as well as any observations that they might have made. I believe we have been given some false intel to provide to avoid revealing the infiltration and should allow us to set them up to fall for a trap."

He looked over to Valery, checking that she did not need a hand with the armour segments. "The hope is that we can get in and out without detection."

Valery briefly eyed the soldier when she began to change into her armor. She smirked, feeling his surprise, and turned her gaze away when he began to get changed as well. One piece at a time, she went from the undersuit into proper, official stormtrooper armor. It was very much a tight fit and not the most comfortable, but it'd do the trick.

She looked convincing.

"That sounds like a solid plan. Did you coordinate where the false info would lead them?" That was perhaps most important if they managed to get the intel in place. If the enemy was sent somewhere, there would have to be a surprise party waiting for them. Otherwise, they'd risk endangering others.

"I'm sure we'll be able to get in, at least. It might be better if you lead the way, though. You're a soldier, so a little more familiar with their behavior and customs, hm?"

It seemed that Valery was handling the armour well enough and it was impressive, attaching the armour was never necessarily an easy process. Especially when it is armour that you do not usually wear. Once Tarw had the lower body sections of the armour attached, he looked back over to the Jedi Master. "The plan was to direct them towards Taanab, while it isn't in Alliance space, the SIA believed providing false information about movements to that world could stretch imperial resources more."

"If this mission ends up being successful, perhaps we end up working together on that planet." Tarw was curious to see the Jedi Master in action, able to use her powers to the max. Especially since it would be an amazing site to behold.

Donning the chest and mid section armour sections, Tarw nodded his head. "It will help having you there to use Mind Trick on anyone who might start to catch on as well though." His former Jedi training had mentions of what a Jedi Mind Trick was and how effective it could be in stealth missions.

Finishing the main body sections on himself, he walked over to Valery and started to inspect the way she put the armour on herself. "Sorry, I just wanted to check that the armour is on in the manner a soldier would wear it." Tarw stated, his hands checking the plates and nods his head approvingly.

"The shuttle is in the hangar, I saw that you are a pilot, so I figured you would want to pilot the shuttle to the imperial base?" Tarw mentioned as he grabbed his helmet and donned the helmet. Sealing it shut. "I'm ready when you are, Master Jedi."

Valery nodded while she attached armor plates, "Taanab works, it's close enough to Alliance space." If the enemy caught the bait and the SIA was ready to receive them, this whole mission could deal a serious blow. Perhaps not enough to significantly change the war effort, but every little victory brought them one step closer to defeating the enemy.

This was a mission she was going to give her all.

"If we're successful, it's likely a good idea for us both to be at Taanab, yes," Valery said with a smirk. "We'll be aware of everything, so we can most easily respond to unexpected situations." A mission like this didn't have to be a total success, after all. It was possible that they'd need to adapt along the way, and that it'd change things for the future.

Having finished armoring up, Valery stood still and watched him step closer to check her plates. A few tugs here and there, but everything was secured properly. Still, she perked a brow and smirked, "This isn't the first time I've armored up, soldier." she stepped away once he approved and picked up her own helmet.

"I can fly us in, but you'll have to lead the way from there. You're the more convincing soldier."

Looking back to Valery, she agreed to work with him again on Tanaab, it was nice to hear and he was glad to know he could get to know her more and see her in action. Watching others more skilled than yourself operate and fight was certainly a great way to learn how to improve your own skills. He looked Valery in the eyes as he adjusted her plating, "aye, but you wear it like a Jedi, not like a stormtrooper." It was not an insult, Tarw was just stating a fact as he saw it, but he gave a smirk as well and shrugged, "or maybe I am just overcautious and wanted to double check."

He gave a wink before the helmet was donned.

"Makes sense, we just need to locate the command centre and then use the computer spike to hack in and transfer the data." He mentioned the plan now so that Valery could know what to do if Tarw had to get occupied with something. "The spike will do the work, if we can get any further information on their plans and operations that would be great but that isn't a priority." Tarw mentioned as they headed to the ship.

Only carrying his rifle and a couple of thermal detonators in a pouch on his waist. Sitting in the co-pilot seat, Tarw plugged the coordinates in and prepped the access codes to make sure that they weren't detected on entry.

"Overcautious is one word for it," Valery said with a smirk after he boldly winked at her. She then followed him towards the ship, ready to fly them to their destination. It was one strength of hers, but this mission also included a few things that weren't exactly part of her expertise. Most notably, working with a computer spike.

Anything that revolved around tech or hacking, she was terrible with.

"I'll leave the computer stuff to you if you don't mind," she said with a chuckle. "I can provide cover and I'll be our way in and out of that place." Especially if they did run into trouble, Valery would have plenty of skills to cover their retreat and get them off-world again.

Even if it'd include some intense piloting.

"Anything else before we go?"

Tarw was surprised that Valery was leaving the computer spike stuff to him. In his mind, he was a simple grunt and this stuff was above his skill sets. He did not question the decision though and nodded his head, if Valery felt more comfortable covering his back then he was happy to let that happen. "Sounds good, hopefully your job won't be too difficult with getting us a way out."

"Only other thing is, how are your skills with a rifle? Might be best to avoid using your Lightsabers. Gives them a harder time claiming who we are if we could just be two soldiers." Tarw stated, he knew that there were few soldiers with a figure like Valery's then there were even fewer Jedi with one.

"Other than that, think we are all good." Tarw mentioned as he checked the time they would have till they got to the planet. "Seems we might have some time to kill, got any questions you want to ask about me?" He figured it might help Valery to know more about the person she was teaming up with.

"From my experience," Valery began with a chuckle, "Getting out is always the hard part." Even if they did everything perfectly and weren't caught, she had this feeling that the enemy would find out something was wrong before they'd make it out. She just hoped they wouldn't catch on to the data spike.

"I can use a rifle or pistols," Valery said with a dip of her head. She didn't use her blasters very often, but extensive training had prepared her for a moment like this. Not that she was the greatest shot — she was certainly not a soldier — but she was good enough to be convincing.

The Force could also make up for certain shortcomings.

"Questions?" Valery hummed in thought. "Do you have a certain specialization? Something you're particularly good at?"

Nodding his head, he trusted Valery's experience on that part and accepted there was a likely chance that there would be some difficulties with them trying to figure a way out of the base. What opposition they would face would be hard to tell. But nothing that a Jedi Master could not handle, especially a Jedi Master at Valery's level. It gave Tarw a level of confidence in the success of this mission that he would not have if it was a mission that he was going to do on his own.

"Good to know. Just known Jedi that could not shoot blaster for chit." Tarw laughed, "impressive to know that your skills are limited to just your fancy Lightsaber." He winked with a soft chuckle, he had a Lightsaber of his own though it was stored in a box and he had not touched it in years since he left the Jedi Order.

Shaking his head, "not yet, still working on figuring that out. My father was a tactical leader, focused on rifles but I want to forge my own path and not force myself to follow in his footsteps." He wanted to work on his father's squad which meant he needed to demonstrate he was one of the best and honed his skills to be proficient in abilities outside of combat. "Also trying to gain several skills in a variety of stuff."

"Tell me, what is your favourite way to celebrate a mission's success?" Tarw asked, curious to know what Valery had in mind to do after the mission is over.

Valery chuckled, "A lot of Jedi these days learn how to use a blaster. Or at least more than just their lightsaber." It wasn't always a calculated decision — a lot of Jedi started their training older and had already learned to use a blaster before even becoming a Jedi. That wasn't the case for Valery, but it had its uses either way.

Especially on missions like this.

When he spoke of his specialization, Valery listened and smiled in response. It made sense that he was still figuring things out. He was young and likely hadn't been with the military for very long. He did seem very certain about not wanting to do the same thing his father did.

"Well, perhaps this mission will give you insight into what you'd like to get even better at." There were a million options in the army, so it was only a matter of time.

Valery then raised a brow when he asked a rather casual question, "Well, I used to not celebrate at all. I'd go from one mission to another, and rest or train in between. Nowadays? Going home to be with my family is what I enjoy most after assignments. Especially longer ones."

Shrugging he held doubts that a Jedi was as skilled with blasters as a soldier needed to be but he held his tongue. It was not the time nor was he that concern about arguing with Valery over what level of skills a Jedi did or did not have.

Nodding his head, "perhaps. I'm trying to take on as many missions as I can, varied the better so I know the path I wish to take." Tarw mentioned, "means I am working a lot but better to grind now and figure out the life I want. Than to be stumbling around lost while older." Tarw shrugged and then looked over when Valery mentioned that she enjoyed spending her downtime with her family. Especially when she has been away from awhile. It was nice to hear that she enjoyed spending time with her family.

"A shame. I usually spend it drinking at one of the GA military bars or working off the adrenaline at a gym. I was going to suggest we do something to celebrate together." He winked to her with a smirk played on his lips. Leaning back, "but if you aren't interested in joining me, I get it." Leaning back in the chair as he tried not to be too hopeful that she would want to celebrate with him.

But a little hope would be bad, right?

"That's a good way of looking at it. But isn't there at all a point when the army makes you choose?" It seemed odd if they'd leave him without any sort of specialization, to just wander around lost. But perhaps if he remained in a low rank and never did anything to grow up the ladder, that's what could happen.

He didn't seem the type to sit still, though.

"A shame?" Valery chuckled, "I quite love spending time with my family, so it's not really a shame to me." She knew that's not what he meant, and her smirk hopefully made it clear she was just joking. "I do sometimes celebrate or get drinks with friends or people I've worked with."

She paused and looked at him, "I don't mind getting a drink after the mission, but let's first make sure it's a success before we celebrate, hm?"

"No different to the Jedi having to choose a speciality." Tarw pointed out, "and there are people in the army who are skilled in many different things. Think they are commandos." So, even if there wasn't a single specific type that he was skilled in, Tarw could progress as a jack of all trade. It wasn't ideal for Tarw but he would deal with it, for now he was just focusing on figuring out what he would be and what he wanted to be.

When Valery mentioned she loved spending time with her family, Tarw looked over quickly, "I... I didn't....I...." He then realised that she was just teasing and felt his cheeks blush dimly and sighed relieved he hadn't offended her. It meant that he looked silly but that was the least of his issue. "Good to know." He gave a smile, glad to know that celebration drinks with Valery was not off the table.

Something to look forward to. Something to fight for.

"Seems like we are coming out of hyperspace." Tarw mentioned as he checked a couple of things and started making sure that they were able to sort out any identifications and codes beforehand. "Once we land, we'll need to pretend we are reporting an update on GA activities to command." He stated as he breathed in deeply and attempted to focus on calm the pre-mission nerves.

"It's not entirely the same. We don't force Jedi to choose a specialization. I always felt the army has more of an expectation for it because you work towards the same goals." Teams were often built to mix needed specializations after all. Someone who could breach, someone with medical skills, a sniper, and more. Jedi didn't all work with the same goals in mind — some were focused on defending the peace, but others worked as librarians or even in agriculture.

It had to be a choice and not something they could force.

Soon, the ship was getting ready to drop from Hyperspace. Valery took that as the signal to put on her helmet and performed one final check on her gear.

They were ready.

"Alright, going to let you lead the way." It'd be much easier if he was the commanding officer between them. He could be a convincing soldier, and she'd just be there as an extra pair of hands to get the job done.

"It would only be a forced decision if it was a choice we did not want or were unhappy about." Tarw looked over to the Jedi Master, "while we aren't guided by your Force, that doesn't mean make the choices we make less significant or less true to who we are. If anything, takes more insight of oneself for a soldier to pick his speciality than for a Jedi to."

There was a slight tease to his voice. He wasn't in a 100% belief of that notion but he did see some truth to it. The Jedi relied on the Force for guidance, he took charge of his fate, his achievements but also his consequences and his failings. It was a double-edged sword.

Nodding his head, he gave a final check of himself and couldn't help but give a visual check on Valery to make sure she was definitely good. Once he felt confident, he led the way. Walking down the ramp, it felt strange to be in charge when Valery was his senior in basically every way, but she was putting her trust in him and he couldn't let her down.

Approaching guards stationed by the elevator of the hangar, Tarw felt nerves bubbling in his stomach but maintained a calm composure. He would not fail. He could not fail. Too much was at stake here.

"We need to report to command. There are data recordings of updated GA movements that we have to deliver." Tarw stated in a commanding tone.

The guard looked to his second then back to Tarw, "passcode?"

"ISB code: GAI2178-986." Tarw stated as he tapped his bracer and pulled out the ID signature of the armour as well.

The guard stiffened, "of course commander. Please, go right in. Sorry for delaying you." Saluting Tarw as stiffly and respectfully as he could.

Tarw entered the elevator waiting for Valery to join before pushing the button to send them up to the command center. Once the doors closed and he could be sure they would not be overheard, he chuckled under his helmet, "lucky I got a commander's armour it seems. Should be easier time getting to the command centre. Though I dread trying fighting in this armour, not exactly made to be effective in combat..." He chuckled again.

Valery remained quiet and mirrored Tarw's movements. She walked down the ramp at the same pace, held her rifle in similar manner and did her overall best to look convincing. Still, she was a little nervous. Infiltrating this way could work extremely well if they weren't caught, but it was a high risk tactic. If the enemy grew suspicious or if someone were to discover their real identity, it'd be while they were in the middle of a dangerous environment.

Escape would be very difficult.

The two guards they approached seemed convinced, however. They didn't suspect a thing and the fact that Tarw had secured himself a commander's uniform meant that they were more on edge than the two infiltrators.

"Let's hope it doesn't come to fighting," Valery said once they were alone again. "I'm not used fighting in armor that restricts my movements as much as this one." The body armor was one thing, but she particularly despised the helmet. Its vizor was high quality, sure, but her vision still felt limited.

"I sense a lot of people up ahead. Once the doors open, we're back in our role."

"Yeah, sadly most people aren't able to go jump around and swinging a Lightsaber, so we gotta have heavier armour like this." He chuckled and just nudged friendly to show he was teasing since his expression was hidden behind his helmet. "If a fight does happen, jump to cover, fire from there. Hopefully, there won't be any conflict but I got a bad feeling..."

He could feel something in his gut but it was faint, distant. His connection to the Force had been severed by himself but it wasn't completely gone.

What he felt, he couldn't say though.

As the elevator pinged, Tarw moved into a position of authority and led the way. There was a number of soldiers and officers walking around. Mumbling of officers in corners and soldiers seemingly on edge. Tarw kept his gaze fixed forward but there was something going on. Someone powerful, someone with authority, was coming to the base.

Instinct told him to get out but they needed to get the data and plant the false evidence.

This mission was too far along to surrender now.

Tarw walked to the command centre and approached the guards outside. "I am here to report and provide updated evidence of Galactic Alliance movements." Providing his commander status.

The guards nodded their heads and opened the door. The command centre was empty for now, but it was clear that would not be the case for long. Entering in calmly, once the door closed behind them, Tarw rushed to the main console and instantly inserted the data spike.

"Need three, maybe five minutes." Tarw stated. "I think some Sith is visiting the base from the way everyone is acting. We need to be gone before they get here."

He knew Valery could handle the Sith, but it would compromise their cover.

HAIuSyi.png

"I've got the same feeling."

He couldn't see it, but she offered a smile when he gave her a nudge. Firing from cover and keeping the limitations of her armor in mind were some good tips, even if she wasn't stupid enough to be oblivious to them. What mattered most was that Tarw wanted to help. With that mindset, this mission would be a success.

Even if they ran into unexpected trouble along the way.

Already, she felt something darker pushing against the edges of her mind. Their intel hadn't mentioned a Sith presence, but it was still possible. Or maybe it was something else, but Valery wasn't going to make assumptions. Whatever she felt, they needed to maintain their cover and do their best not to cause trouble.

After a short elevator ride, the two arrived at the command post and were promptly allowed inside. The guards didn't even suspect a thing with Tarw taking the lead.

"Are you going to be done in time?" She asked, as she paced around near the door to keep watch. "As long as I suppress myself, the Sith won't sense me. But we have to be careful, especially if he gets close to us."
