He appreciated that she did not comment on his slip up, it afforded him the strong face for the moment. Tarw knew once he was healed and back on his feet that Valery had every right to tease him and he would want her to as well. A strong friendship had a lot of teasing banter between them. It was something that Tarw believed was the marker of a strong, trusting friendship.

Once they reached the ramp of the ship, Tarw let out a sigh of relief, the worse of it was over and he was definitely going to heal himself. His arm wrapped around her waist and clung tighter to her as he let the pain overcome him a little more that the danger was behind them now. Tarw was still sweating and there was now blood pouring out of his stab wound. "I... yeah... getting patched up sounds good..." Tarw panted heavily, breathing in and out slowly.

"You can always count on me as an ally, even a friend, if you wish." Tarw offered, hoping to be able to get closer with the powerful Jedi Master. She held a presence that he found inspiring and mirroring that of his father.

Valery felt his grip tighten around her, the tension in his arm revealing just how much pain he had been holding back. She kept her arm steady around him, guiding him up the ramp and into the safety of the ship's medbay. The sight of the blood trailing down from his wound caught her eye, and she moved quickly, setting him down onto the nearest bench with a gentle yet firm hand on his shoulder.

"You did great, Tarw," she said, her voice softening as she offered a reassuring smile. "It takes more strength than most realize to hold on as long as you have."

She began to examine the wound, carefully dabbing away the blood before reaching for a medkit. Valery's amber eyes lifted to meet his for a moment, touched by his words. "I'm honored to count you as a friend, Tarw," she replied sincerely, her voice threaded with warmth. "True allies are hard to find, and you're one I know I can trust."

As she worked, Valery kept a steady hand, applying a healing salve and wrapping his wound with expert care. "Now, try to relax. Just breathe with me — in and out." Her voice was calm and grounding, each word guiding him away from the pain and toward a moment of calm. The bond between them felt stronger now, forged not just through combat but through trust and mutual respect.

He chuckled deeply, "you're just buttering me up before you cause me even more pain with those medkits." Tarw joked. They were safely aboard the ship now and getting out of here so he figured that now was as good as time as anywhere to joke about the situation.

"Well, always got your back and hopefully next time we work together, I won't be dumb and get myself captured." Tarw chuckled deeply, "glad to count you as a friend too and that you came for me. I doubted that I could have lasted much longer there. I don't even know how long I was there for." Tarw confessed, he had lost track of days since the pain and starvation was just blended all together and not seeing the sun rise or set, it felt infinite but also one singular moment.

That had been the worst part, unable to tell how long he had been suffering for.

Breathing in and out with Valery, he winced a little when the salva was placed on the wound but it wasn't as bad as it could have been. A lot of the nerves at the wound had been burned by the Lightsaber. He looked Valery in the eyes, "you can go ahead and tease me now for my slip up earlier." Tarw smirked, ready for it and feeling safe enough to take some jabs.

Valery couldn't help but chuckle at Tarw's attempt to keep things lighthearted, despite everything he'd been through. His strength was remarkable — not just physically, but in spirit. As she worked on his wound, she looked up, a warm smile playing on her lips.

"Me? Tease you? I would never," she said, though the glint in her amber eyes betrayed her playful intentions. "Though… if I were to tease you, I might remind you of that little 'slip-up' back there. You know, the part where you called me beautiful." She tilted her head, smirking just a little. "Not that I mind hearing it, of course."

Her voice softened as she continued, "But really, Tarw, it's good to know you can still joke after what you've been through." She paused, her gaze steady on his. "You're stronger than you give yourself credit for. The fact that you held on, through all that darkness… it shows a lot about who you are."

Finishing up the bandage, Valery gave his shoulder a gentle pat, her touch reassuring and grounding. "Next time, we'll make sure you don't end up in a cell at all." Her smile softened as she watched him.

Standing up, she extended a hand to him, offering him a way to steady himself as they prepared to leave the medbay. "So, you ready to head back home? I think you've earned yourself some rest — and maybe a drink or two." She shot him another smile, her warm presence radiating that familiar sense of safety and camaraderie, a silent promise that, as his friend, she'd always be there.

He chuckled as Valery complimented his fortitude and the strength he held, "well, I suppose that Mandalorian part of me relishes the chance to fight and prove myself. Too stubborn to bend, just like beskar." He shrugged, he knew that wasn't necessarily true but he was feeling a little too humble to just accept the big compliments that Valery was bestowing him.

"Ah yeah, that's the one. Gotta keep me in check, feed my ego too much and I'll start thinking you find me devilishly handsome." Tarw smirked, "see it's already happening." He winked to Valery, knowing this was just in good humour. Tarw was glad to have a new friend, especially someone as reliable as Valery. It was good and something he needed right now.

"Avoiding a cell sounds like a good plan. Hopefully next time I can show off my big gun." Tarw paused and thought on what he had just stated, "I do mean my blaster... I just realised how that could sound..." He shook his head and found himself blushing again slightly.

He laughed as a way to shake off the awkwardness he felt, as he took Valery's hand in his hand, using his good arm to lift himself up onto his feet. Tarw ended up finding himself standing very close, basically looming over Valery. He couldn't help but breathe in her scent a little, justifying it as a way to still the pain of shifting around. "Drinks? Drinks sound good." His voice a little quieter now.

"Can I hope to have you join me for at least one or two?" He asked, feeling a little bold in the moment.

Valery's laughter was soft but warm as she met Tarw's gaze, amusement flickering in her eyes as he shook off his own blush. The good-natured banter was refreshing, and she appreciated the humor he brought, even amid the aftermath of a mission. She watched as he steadied himself, still leaning on her just slightly, and her smirk deepened when he hinted at his "devilishly handsome" charm.

"Oh, it's already gone to your head?" she teased lightly, raising an eyebrow. "We'll have to be careful then — can't have you thinking you're the most charming warrior in the galaxy," she added with a chuckle, clearly enjoying their easy camaraderie.

As he straightened, standing close enough that she could feel the warmth of his presence, she noticed the way his gaze softened. The faint hint of pink in his cheeks didn't go unnoticed either, and she found herself softening too. "Drinks, huh?" she mused, considering for just a moment before nodding. "I think I can manage one or two," she replied, her tone sincere.

Her amber eyes sparkled with a hint of challenge. "After all, you've earned a little celebration after being stuck for so long." She nodded and smiled, then gestured toward the ship's exit with an encouraging nod.

"Lead the way, Tarw."

Tarw smirked widely and shrugged his shoulders, "that would be a terrible idea to plant in my head." He puffed his chest a little more, "just be glad I can't be flexing my muscles right now to highlight the charming warrior I can be." He shook his head, thinking how dumb that was but he couldn't help it.

When she agreed to go for drinks, there was a challenge glinting mischievously in her eye. He wondered what she had in mind for the drinks but there was an excitement brewing inside him. "Sounds good, there's a good Alliance bar that has a decent selection of drinks and a solid discount for soldiers."

Once he stepped off the ramp of the ship, he rubbed the back of his neck as Tarw realised he wasn't really dressed for a night out in the city. "Hey, mind if I change into something not imperial looking? Meet you at the bar, first round on me." Tarw suggested. He wanted to look his best and right now, he was looking a little rough.

Valery rolled her eyes, a playful smirk dancing on her lips as she crossed her arms. "Careful, soldier," she said with a light laugh, tilting her head just a bit. "I'm a married woman, you know." Her tone was warm, though, carrying a hint of that challenge in her gaze. She liked Tarw's humor, but she knew where to draw the line.

When he suggested changing before they met up, she nodded. "Good call. Wouldn't want to cause a scene in your Imperial look. I'll head over and get us a good spot." She gave him a final, encouraging nod as she turned to leave, tossing over her shoulder, "First round on you, then. But don't think I'll go easy on you, even with that solid discount."

With that, she strode off, feeling a bit of the day's tension ease as she anticipated a fun night out.

He placed a hand on his heart and gasped in shock, "you are? How heartbreaking!" Tarw smirked and nodded his head, "I know Valery. I would never dare to do anything to jeopardize that." His gaze demonstrated how serious he meant that. He was here to be her friend and reliable ally in the battlefield.

Heading off to his apartment, Tarw refreshed himself swiftly and changed into a clean outfit, back into his leather jacket.

Arriving at the bar, his facial hair was trimmed, hair styled and tidied. He had been quick so it wasn't perfect but he didn't look like a rough mess who just got saved.

Walking over to Valery, he coughed to announce himself, not wanting to cross the line with anything too friendly. "So, what is your poison going to be to start with then Master Jedi?" Tarw asked as he leaned on the table.

Valery leaned back in her seat, a smirk tugging at the corner of her lips as she watched Tarw approach. The bar they'd chosen was cozy yet vibrant, its atmosphere humming with energy. Warm amber lights hung from the ceiling, casting a soft glow over the wooden tables and leather booths. The walls were adorned with holo-posters of past Galactic events, and a sleek bar counter stretched along one side, lined with an impressive array of bottles in every imaginable color. The hum of conversation mixed with the occasional burst of laughter, creating a lively yet intimate environment.

The scent of roasted spices and grilled food wafted through the air, mingling with the sharper tang of various drinks being mixed. A small stage at the far end of the room hosted a band playing soft, upbeat music that lent a rhythmic undertone to the evening. Around them, groups of people gathered — pilots, merchants, and off-duty soldiers, all enjoying their brief respite from the galaxy's troubles.

As Tarw leaned on the table, his freshly trimmed look and easy confidence didn't go unnoticed. Valery met his eyes, her expression playful but steady, a challenge sparking in her amber gaze.

"Alright, Tarw," she said, her voice carrying just enough edge to match the lively hum of the bar. "I'll take whatever you're having. Let's see if you actually know what you're doing." She crossed her arms on the table, her posture relaxed but still exuding that ever-present air of control. "But fair warning — if it's awful, I'll be holding you responsible."

Seeing Valery sitting relaxed, but with the air of control and ease that was alluring to Tarw in many ways but he reminded himself to control his emotions and thoughts. He didn't want to tread over the line that they had just established. Tarw's dark eyes softened and he smiled at the challenge that Valery set him.

"Oh, well, I hope there is a reward for giving you something delicious then?" He winked with a chuckle. Tarw leaned against the bar and while he looked thinner than he usually appeared, he was still highly toned and there was little fat on his body. Looking over the array of drinks, he thought on what Valery might enjoy the most.

There were wines that crossed his mind, beers felt like too much of a hit or miss. Then the idea came to him, something that was from home. "Corellian fire whisky. Two." Tarw ordered, the selection was due to the firey gaze that Valery held.

The spicy hit with the taste of whisky. It was a bold choice but there was a confidence that Valery would enjoy their opening drink. Especially since it was just the start.

"Hopefully you enjoy a bit of fire, I figured a shot to start the night could be a strong start."

Valery’s amber eyes sparkled with intrigue as the bartender placed two small glasses of Corellian fire whiskey before them. She reached for hers, the warmth of the glass already hinting at the bold drink within. A smirk curled her lips as she raised it toward Tarw.

“Fire, huh? Bold choice,” she mused, her tone playful. “Let’s see if it lives up to the name.”

Without hesitation, Valery brought the glass to her lips and tipped it back. The whiskey burned hot and smooth, leaving a lingering warmth in her chest. She set the empty glass down with a satisfied exhale and glanced at Tarw.

“Not bad,” she teased, her gaze steady. “But you’re setting a high bar for the rest of the night.” She leaned in slightly, her voice dropping just a touch. “Think you can keep
up?”

He chuckled and shrugged his shoulders, "I couldn't help myself, your eyes inspired the decision." Tarw admitted as he winked to her, continuing to be a bit more bold. Downing the shot, Tarw swallowed the fiery liquid and felt a warmth move around his body. It was a sensation that caused goosebumps to trickle all over his body before he felt it settle a little.

"They say drinking enough of them and you end up breathing fire. Though that might be an old wives' tale." Tarw joked.

As Valery leaned forward, Tarw matched the lean and smirked when Valery lowered her voice with the suggestive tone. "My, my, Master Jedi, sounds like you are wanting to play a dangerous game." He licked his lips slowly, "I think you'll find that my stamina will surpass most men..." Tarw let a pause linger before adding, "when it comes to drinking, of course."

Looking over to the bartender, "another round of shots or did you fancy something else, Valery?"

Valery smirked at Tarw's boldness, shaking her head slightly in amusement. "Fire-breathing Jedi sounds like a headline I'd rather avoid," she quipped, leaning back slightly as she signaled the bartender for another round. "But hey, if it's an old wives' tale, we're in good company."

When the next set of shots arrived, she picked one up and held it aloft, her amber eyes sparkling, clinking her glass lightly against his.

She threw back the shot with practiced ease, the fiery liquid igniting a warm trail down her throat. Setting the empty glass down, Valery exhaled and gave Tarw a mischievous look. "So, tell me," she said, her tone light and teasing, "What's the most ridiculous thing you've done after one too many of these?"

Tarw chuckled deeply, "well, I am sure that if you needed to, you could turn it into a positive headline. Jedi Master demonstrates willingness to get rough with the soldiers of the GA, perhaps?" He winked to her with a smirk played out on his lips. "True, though I always think that old wives' tales have some modicum of truth to them." Legends were important tales to Mandalorians and he respect that importance. Even if he held some doubts on what a person could have actually achieved.

"To risking it all for a good time." He clinked her glass, hinting that he enjoyed playing dangerous games as much as she did.

He downed his shot and licked his full lips afterwards, the second one going down smoother than the first as his body was prepared for the burning sensation this time around. He set the glass down on the table and gestured for a third. He looked at her, "oh, we playing this game then?" Tarw chuckled, "not sure I can admit in public what is the actual craziest thing I've done after a lot of these.... Hmph..." He thought about it for a couple minutes and then leaned in, whispering in her ear the details of what occurred on a night of plenty of shots.

Leaning back afterwards, "the husband was not pleased with me come morning and I lost my watch as I rushed out of the apartment, but the other soldiers love hearing that story." He chuckled again then nodded to her, "what about yourself? What is the craziest you have done after a couple too many drinks?"

Valery raised an eyebrow as Tarw leaned in, "Quite the adventure," she remarked, her tone carrying a mix of amusement and mild exasperation. "I can see why your fellow soldiers enjoy that story. Not so sure about the husband, though." She chuckled softly, shaking her head.

When he turned the question back to her, Valery's smirk shifted into something more thoughtful. "Honestly? I haven't done many crazy things while drunk," she admitted, swirling the liquid in her glass before taking a small sip. "I don't tend to let myself get to that point."

Her amber eyes flicked toward him, her expression lightening with a hint of self-deprecation. "But there was one time," she continued, her lips curling into a wry smile, "When I ended up dancing on a table in the middle of a crowded club. It was not my proudest moment, but it's not too bad."

People did far worse.

Tarw shrugged his shoulders, "well, besides having to dash out. There weren't any other serious consequences from what I have seen." He mentioned, feeling pretty smug that he had been able to get a faint smirk from Valery as he told the tale. It was a good sign, meant that she enjoyed his tales and antics.

He raised an eyebrow and shook his head, "sounds like our Sword of the Jedi needs to let her hair down in more ways than one." He winked to her as he ordered several more shots. "Can't live life always making the sensible decisions. Being reckless and getting wild when being drunk... It's a way to not only boost morale but helps others see that you can be just as foolish as anyone else."

Tarw clearly believed in self-depreciation to humble oneself, ensure that others in service didn't hold you to impossible standards. Standards no being could live up to. "So, tonight, the plan is to drink. Dance, even on tables if you feel the mood strikes you, and get a bit wild."

"I insist on this." He downed another shot, "and no using the Force to detoxify, well, at least until we finish our time together." He chuckled deeply, nudging another shot to Valery.

Valery chuckled softly, shaking her head as Tarw slid another shot her way. The faint smirk he'd drawn from her earlier lingered, but there was a knowing glint in her amber eyes as she looked at him. "I'll drink," she said, picking up the shot glass and holding it between her fingers, "But don't get your hopes up for any table dancing. That's not happening."

She tilted her head slightly, her tone softening with a touch of sincerity. "I've had my fair share of wild nights. But I'm a little too old to be getting wasted and overly reckless. I'd rather enjoy the company and keep my dignity intact."

Her smirk grew a little as she raised the shot glass in a small toast. "But I'll give you this — tonight, I'll relax, drink with you, and 'let my hair down'… just not that much." With that, she tipped the glass back, savoring the warmth of the drink before setting the empty glass down on the bar.

Her amber eyes met his again, still bright with humor. "You'll have to settle for sensible fun this time. I promise it's not as boring as it sounds." She leaned back slightly, folding her arms loosely in front of her.

Tarw nodded his head. "I'll accept a dance together, when the mood strikes or the beat is right." His eyes glinted with a dark tease in them. Watching Valery closely as she accepted the drink and took it well.

Shaking his head, "you aren't that old Valery, you can still have some wild nights and let yourself go." Tarw encouraged as he poured from the bottle another two shots for them. They hadn't hit him yet, but he knew he was gunna be a bit drunk in no time.

Leaning forward he held the glass up and winked to Valery, "to a night of sensible fun then." He smirked as he toasted then downed the shot. "Though a night with you is always going to an exciting time, I think."

He winked again to Valery.
