Seeing the smile, it was heart warming. Tarw was thrilled to see that she took the joke in good humour.

"Fighting our way out, got it." Tarw repeated as he inspected the weapon and made sure that it was not on a stun setting. Tarw was not in the mood for stunning the people who imprisoned and tortured him. "Yeah, I can't go around phasing through walls even at the best of time." He chuckled since he was no where near as powerful as Valery with techniques like that.

Moving against the wall and peer out to help assess the situation, "makes sense. Fingers crossed that we won't face any dangers till then. Fluid extraction plan is a choice by the way." He poked his tongue out, teasing Valery on the situation, not serious about the issue.

"Lead the way," Tarw held the weapon ready to attack if needs be.

Valery rolled her eyes and chose not to poke back at him. Instead, she turned around and kept herself close to the wall as she made her exit. Her senses had already carved a path through the facility that'd allow them to avoid as much resistance as possible, but it was still only a matter of time. Around the facility stood a fence with guard towers that couldn't be breached without drawing attention from patrols or snipers.

But they wouldn't need to run for long to be picked up once they were through. Her shuttle was already on auto-pilot, its engines firing up to intercept the two for a quick extraction.

All they needed to do was make it beyond the walls.

"Just a bit further," Valery whispered after crossing a few more hallways. But not a minute later, when the outer walls of the facility finally became visible on the far end of the hallway, an alarm began to echo through the whole building. Red emergency lights flashed around them, and the sound of foot steps everywhere became disorienting.

They had little time left.

"Come on, you liked that joke. Gotta let me have something, tough trying to find and keep a sense of humour tortured daily." Tarw was not too bothered by the fact that Valery wasn't out and out laughing at his jokes, it was understandable with more important things going on. However, for him, being able to laugh and joke, it meant that he was still sane. That he was still alive and that this wasn't a vision.

Keeping their back covered, Tarw followed Valery as she led the way, he was amazed at how she knew the facility so well, figuring it must have been research she had done before arriving. Not even realising someone could use the Force to map out a base so well quickly.

As they were heading to the final stretch and Tarw was thinking they were going to get out of the base without a hitch. Alarms rang everywhere and movement of troopers could be heard. "I am guessing it would be a bad idea to suggest you get out of here and leave me behind again?" Tarw was half joking but half serious, he was not completely against being left behind again if things were getting too dicey.

In his mind, he would forever be a small, insignificant cog in a much larger machine. He was always expendable and Valery didn't need to put in this much effort for him. As they turned a corner, Tarw shot down a couple of troopers he had spotted.

"Much further to go? Because there are definitely more from where they came from."

Valery moved swiftly as the alarm blared through the facility, her fiery gaze flicking over to Tarw. Despite the tension, she allowed herself a small smirk at his half-joke. "No way I'm leaving you behind again," she replied firmly, glancing ahead as they neared the outer walls. "This time, we're getting out together."

As they approached the perimeter, the sound of blaster fire soon erupted — they'd been spotted. Soldiers in the guard towers shouted orders as they took aim and opened fire at the Jedi and soldier trying to escape. Without hesitation, Valery ignited her lightsaber in response, deflecting incoming shots with precision.

There was no reason to be stealthy anymore.

"Keep moving!" she shouted over the noise. "I'll handle the ones up top!" With a swift motion, she advanced, deflecting fire and giving Tarw the opening they needed to press forward. Enemy soldiers were down on ground level, too, so Valery hoped he could take care of them.

She'd handle the towers.

With one powerful jump, aided by the Force, Valery moved from the ground up into one of the towers, catching every soldier inside by surprise.

"Good to hear, I don't like my odds being trapped here a second time around." Tarw commented as Valery reaffirmed her stance that she was saving him this time. It was a relief and he was going to have to find a way to repay her, it didn't matter that he had gotten captured for her safety, it still felt important to give Valery something back in thanks for working so hard and swiftly to save his life.

Running as fast as he could, he watched as Valery moved faster and jumped incredibly high up to take the guys above them. Damn, she is so fething impressive... Tarw thought to himself as he gripped his stolen rifle tight and shot towards the guys in front of him. Pulling on the trigger as much as he could. He growled, it wasn't shooting faster enough in his mind, he needed a better gun.

A gun that was his.

The soldiers in front of him were riddled by bullets as he raced towards them. He crouched forward to avoid as much of the shots from behind as he could. Weaving and feeling several getting dangerously close. He didn't feel the basic imperial armour he was donned in would provide much protection from the oncoming attacks. Another he needed to would on for himself. His mind was clearly assessing the situation and figuring out what he needed to ensure his future survival was maintained to the highest possibility.

Grabbing a thermal detonator he had picked up, Tarw threw it behind him as he raced forward till he was around a corner. Away from the explosion as it went off. Hoping that would slow some down as he continued to keep moving forward. Heading towards the direction that Valery had ordered him to get to. When he felt safer, he turned around and started firing at some of the soldiers up high from behind to assist Valery best he could from his position.

She had thrown herself at the larger force of soldiers and he needed to help her as best he could.

Valery landed in the guard tower with a graceful but forceful impact, her lightsaber cutting through the dim light as she swiftly disarmed the soldiers inside. With every movement, the red blaster bolts aimed at her were deflected, sizzling harmlessly into the walls. Her fiery eyes remained focused as she neutralized each threat in quick succession, leaving no room for error.

Glancing out of the tower, she spotted Tarw further below, holding his own against the ground soldiers. His precision and quick thinking with the thermal detonator bought them a critical advantage. With the explosion ringing in her ears, Valery couldn't help but smile, impressed by his resilience.

As the last guard in her tower fell, Valery turned her attention back to the mission. She leaped down from the tower to regroup with Tarw, her movements fluid and sharp. "Nice work with that detonator!" she called out over the commotion, before deflecting another volley of blaster fire.

"Keep pushing forward! We're almost at the wall!" She pivoted, creating space for him to move while continuing to deflect the incoming shots from soldiers who were still chasing them. Her gaze remained steady, her focus unshakable. They were close, but they couldn't let up now.

The wall and freedom were within reach, but the danger was far from over.

It seemed that Valery was far ahead of Tarw and she hadn't needed his assistance with the soldiers that she had been dealing with. When she commented on his idea, he smirked to her, "well. I get them from time to time. Who knows, in the future, one of them could save you." He laughed a little, he doubted that he would ever be a soldier that would be working that respected or that in demand that Valery would demand him by her side when she was on a mission. Especially since there were more Jedi that were eager to work along side her, he was a simple soldier and he had already been captured and risked severe torture because he wasn't strong enough to protect her from dangers.

He pushed back towards the wall that Valery needed him to get to. However, he kept that destination firmly behind him as he continued to fire forward. Using the stolen blaster as cover fire to ensure that Valery wasn't overwhelmed. He was not someone who would simply allow his partner to self sacrifice. Tarw was showing the type of soldier he was.

He was the last to get on the ship. Everyone else, they were more important in his mind. They had to get to freedom. He would die before he allowed himself to sacrifice someone else.

"Is your ship here? Get on it Valery! I ain't leaving here without you!" He knew it was not going to be simple, he could feel the darkness looming. They had made enough noise and disturbance to draw the attention of the Sith Lord who had tortured and imprisoned Tarw.

"Get on the fething ship Valery! I'll be right behind you!" It was clear the fear in Tarw's voice due to the presence he felt, but he was also refusing to be overwhelmed or taken control by his fears, he was prioritising Valery's wellbeing, even after a week of torture.

Valery’s gaze flicked over to Tarw, catching the fear beneath his determination, but she offered him a firm nod. “I’m not leaving without you either,” she called back, her voice resolute. With a quick motion, she activated her comm and spoke into it, “Get the ship ready for immediate departure!” The roar of engines responded through the open channel.

She pivoted around, deflecting another round of blaster fire, and shifted her position closer to Tarw, providing him cover. “Stay with me, we’re getting out together,” Valery said with a fierce look in her eyes. The presence of darkness, oppressive and familiar, loomed over them, and her senses flared in warning.

“We don’t have much time — move!” she urged, motioning for Tarw to follow as they both closed the distance to the ship. Every muscle in her body was tense, her mind calculating their next steps. The Sith Lord wasn’t going to let them leave without a fight, but there was no way she’d let him get taken again.

“Keep close, and whatever happens, don’t look back!” she called out, deflecting another set of blaster bolts as they neared the ship’s open ramp. In a flash of movement, she spun around and cut down the last of the soldiers chasing them.

The darkness was getting close, however, and she feared that she would have to stop to take it down if they wanted to leave safely.

"I said I was right behind you!" Tarw growled as he continued to fire his rifle at the soldiers as they charged forward towards them. Feeling several bolts whizz past him as the soldiers got a little too close for comfort with their aim. It was good to know that Valery was just as dedicated as himself in the idea of them both getting out of here without leaving someone behind. It was a good feeling to have someone ensuring his back was protected. It reminded him of why he needed to organise a squad to be a part of.

He could sense the darkness that Valery was feeling as well. His ability in the Force was exposed currently and raw, he dared not use it since his emotions were wild and uncontrolled, however, he couldn't stop the innate abilities to sense others as well as a few other skills. "He's coming. We need to find a spot to collect ourselves and fight him." Tarw called over to Valery.

Tarw wasn't going to feel scared or made to feel weak, not when he had someone like Valery by his side.

"We can take him on together. I just might need a better weapon that a rifle." Tarw stated as he turned around and fired back at the soldiers, covering Valery to keep running forward.

Then Tarw spotted the Sith Lord. The masked figure was not someone he could forget and was not someone who blended into the crowd. "Valery, how long is the ship going to be? Because the Sith is here and it is either we stand and fight, or we get onto that ship now." Tarw emphasised the we part to make sure that Valery didn't have any ridiculous notions of staying behind.

Valery's gaze flickered to the Sith Lord approaching, the oppressive presence growing stronger with each passing second. She gritted her teeth and turned sharply to Tarw, determination blazing in her eyes.

"Hold your ground!" she called back firmly, her voice cutting through the chaos around them. She deflected a few more blaster bolts, clearing a path toward the ship's open ramp as the engines roared louder, signaling its readiness. "The ship is almost here, just keep pushing!"

Her senses locked onto the Sith Lord's dark aura, and she shifted her stance. "We'll face him together, but only until the ship arrives. Our mission is to get you out of here, not to win a fight," Valery said, glancing at him with a resolute look.

"We're leaving together, Tarw. I'm not letting him take you again."

With a deep breath, Valery readied herself for the confrontation, her eyes narrowing as the Sith Lord closed the distance. Every muscle was taut with anticipation, but she maintained her composure, ready to strike back the moment he made his move.

As soon as Valery ordered him to hold the position, Tarw went into combat focus, his aim fired more accurately and he made sure to ensure soldiers went down and stayed down. Hitting them hard and repeatedly, as they moved, he collected ammo packs he could grab and when he ran out of those, he simply threw the rifle at incoming soldiers. Picking up a new rifle and firing more down. He was moving with ruthless combat prowess, he was not a master in the field but he was demonstrating he was skilled beyond his years.

Given the chance he could be a solid commander when given enough experience. At least, he was hoping to demonstrate that.

"Copy that. Our mission is for us both to get out of here. I ain't leaving you behind Valery!" He called out as he shot down another couple of imperial soldiers, feeling his body twist to avoid several bolts coming his way. The armour was blackened in spots where bolts had grazed him or gotten him in non-vital areas.

Looking over to Valery then the Sith Lord, "well, I don't suppose you got my beskad with you?" He figured he would need a melee weapon to assist Valery in the fight. Since the Sith was still a ways off, Tarw lobbed a couple grenades in the Sith's general direction. Hoping the explosions would disorientate and distract him long enough for Valery to swoop in for an easy win.

After he threw the grenades, he provided the Jedi Master strong cover fire, awaiting for the ship to arrive.

Valery's eyes flicked toward Tarw as he asked about his beskad, a small smile tugging at the corner of her lips despite the tension. "No, I didn't bring your beskad," she replied, her voice firm but tinged with an edge of humor. "But I have something else that might work."

Without taking her gaze off the approaching Sith Lord, Valery unclipped her second lightsaber from her belt, igniting the brilliant violet blade. The hum of its energy was steady, vibrating through the air like a warning. She glanced over her shoulder, and with a smooth motion, disengaged the lightsaber again and tossed the weapon to Tarw.

"Use this," she said, her voice sharpening as the Sith Lord closed the gap.

As the grenades exploded behind her, Valery surged forward, her own lightsaber igniting with a snap-hiss. Her violet blade carved through the smoke and debris, cutting a path toward the Sith. She could feel the darkness swirling around him, oppressive and suffocating, but it only fueled her determination.

With a flick of her wrist, her lightsaber flashed through the air, and she met the Sith Lord head-on, trusting that Tarw would be right at her side, ready for one final fight.

Grabbing the Jedi Master's second Lightsaber, he felt the weight of the hilt in his hand. Most people were always surprised how heavy the blade felt in their hand. It was something he had been aware of and while it felt heavier than the one he had made, he knew that was due to him not being bonded with the weapon. To be in tune with the weapon, that was when it felt like a mere extension of one's arm. Tarw hadn't realised how much he missed that feeling.

Igniting the violet blade, "guessing purple is your favourite colour?" Tarw chuckled since Valery had her primary violet Lightsaber in hand. With the rifle in one hand, he fired several bolts at soldiers and then at the Sith Lord as he charged forward. Figuring that he could force the attention on him as they ran to the Sith Lord together. Once the rifle was out of ammo, he launched it at the Sith who cut the gun in half.

Easy defence but Tarw was making sure attention was on him as much as possible.

He kept close to Valery and worked in tandem with her strikes. Though his were somewhat slower and less elegant. A brute force aggressive approach, effective with the style of combat he did as a soldier, not reflective of how a Jedi fought with a weapon like a Lightsaber. The Sith Lord responded with the reveal of a second blade, turning what appeared to be a single blade with a longer hilt into a double Lightsaber. Giving the Sith the chance to block them both at the same time.

Valery's eyes flicked between the violet glow of her own blade and the second one now in Tarw's hands. His humor about her choice in color brought a faint smirk to her lips despite the chaos surrounding them. But there was no time to dwell on the banter — the Sith Lord's presence dominated the battlefield, and his double-bladed lightsaber whirled into motion, blocking their coordinated strikes with lethal precision.

"Guess it is," she called back, her voice tight with focus as she danced around the Sith's aggressive defense, using her natural agility and grace to strike at exposed angles. Tarw's approach was more brute force, heavy swings that lacked finesse but carried the weight of a soldier's strength. Together, they worked like two halves of a single blade — strength and precision, power and skill.

As the Sith twirled his double-bladed saber, Valery sensed a shift in the Force — a subtle tremor as the dark side fueled his speed. His weapon spun faster, deflecting both her strikes and Tarw's with increasing ease. But Valery's mind was always two steps ahead. She knew that a weapon as long and unwieldy as his required space to be fully effective.

They just needed to close the gap.

"Tarw, stay close!" Valery called, her voice sharp with urgency. She sidestepped another barrage of blaster fire from nearby soldiers, deflecting bolts back at them with casual ease. The real threat was still the Sith Lord in front of them, but they had to eliminate distractions.

She surged forward again, this time aiming low, trying to force him to overextend with his double-blade. "Keep the pressure on him, don't let him keep that distance," she urged, her eyes narrowing with determination. Together, if they could just press in and force the Sith into tighter quarters, his double-blade advantage could turn into a weakness.

Tarw pushed forward, slamming against the Sith Lord's defences and trying to overwhelm him with aggressive hard strikes. He was using his fury, strength and aggression to force a hard focus on blocking the strikes that Tarw was delivering. Whereas Valery was providing precise, elegant and trickier attacks to land a blow. Tarw growled and he knew the Sith Lord could sensed the fury within him as he continued to slam attacks. It had been so long of torture and abuse that Tarw could not bottle inside, he desired to inflict pain upon the man who orchestrated that.

"Seems someone is closer to becoming a Sith than he is a Jedi." The Sith Lord taunted as he continued to block and defend the attacks.

Twirling Valery's Lightsaber in his hand, he moved in fast and slammed in fast and hard, however his attacks were becoming more predictable and reckless, leaving him open for an attack. The Sith Lord took the opportunity and his blade passes through Tarw's defence and piercing through his collarbone.

"Grrrrrawwww.... Chit!" Tarw cursed as he felt the attack burn inside him. He kicked out and struck at Sith's kneecap, trying to weaken him for Valery to deliver a killing blow.

Valery's eyes widened as she saw Tarw's reckless fury leave him vulnerable, and the Sith Lord's blade found its mark, piercing his collarbone. Her heart raced, but she couldn't afford to let panic take over. She moved with swift precision, drawing on every ounce of control and mastery she had honed through years of battle.

Valery's heart leaped again as she watched Tarw's strike connect with the Sith's knee, a sharp and precise movement that created the opportunity she had been waiting for. Her instincts kicked in immediately, and she surged forward with a newfound determination, her violet blade blazing in her hand.

The Sith Lord had underestimated them, and now that would be his downfall.

With a quick burst of speed, she moved in tandem with Tarw's attack, fluid as the Force coursed through her. His taunts about Tarw's rage trying to make him falter only strengthened her resolve, knowing that the two of them were stronger together.

She pushed aside the concern for Tarw's injury, focusing entirely on the Sith's faltering stance. His movements had become more sluggish after Tarw's kick, and Valery took full advantage. In a single, elegant strike, her blade slashed upward, aimed directly at his now-exposed side, cutting through the air with deadly precision.

They had to end it now.

Sweat poured from his forehead as the pain overwhelmed Tarw, adrenaline was the only factor that was keeping him conscious in that moment. His strike to the Sith's knee had been a solid blow that the Sith had been unsettled by. It was clear that he had hoped that Tarw would surrender or feel defeated, instead the soldier had been honing his fury to ensure he could assist Valery in delivering the killing blow. Which was something that she did in only a few quick, powerful moves, a clear demonstration of Valery's mastery in combat.

The shriek of the dying Sith Lord wracked Tarw's mind, it was a powerful, dying Force Scream. It forced Tarw down to his knees, covering his ears and growl in pain. Only when the dead body of the Sith slumped onto the ground did the scream seem to finish echoing in his mind. Breathing out slowly, Tarw could feel a cold sweat all over his body. "Fuck that chit scum." Tarw panted deeply, glaring at the dead body and spat towards the Sith Lord's dead body.

"Please tell me the ship is here..." Tarw mentioned as he rose to his feet. He was clearly unsteady on his feet and barely keeping himself consciousness. Tarw switched the Lightsaber that Valery had lent him off and handed it over to Valery.

Valery's eyes softened as the Sith Lord crumpled to the ground, the echoes of his dying scream fading from the room. She took a deep breath, centering herself, and turned to see Tarw on his knees, clearly struggling from the pain and exhaustion. He had fought bravely and without hesitation, but the toll of the battle was obvious.

She moved quickly to his side, her expression filled with concern but also a fierce pride in him. "You did well, Tarw," she said, gently placing a hand on his shoulder. "But you need rest. Let me handle the rest from here."

As he handed back her lightsaber, Valery accepted it with a small, grateful nod and quickly clipped it to her belt. "The ship should be landing any second," she reassured him, her gaze sweeping across the battlefield to ensure the danger had passed.

Valery then extended a hand to help him stand, her eyes meeting his with a quiet determination. "Lean on me. We'll get through this." Her voice was calm but filled with the warmth of a mentor who believed in her companion.

The urgency to get him to safety, however, remained strong, and she tightened her grip around him, ready to help him move as the ship arrived. "We'll get you patched up — you're going to be alright."

"I'm not out of the fight yet. You can still count on me to make sure you get home to your family." He grinned to Valery, refusing to be appear as in devastating levels of pain that someone would feel with his injury.

Tarw was stubborn but he was also committed to his role as a soldier. Force Pulling a pistol into his hand, he aimed it towards a few imperial soldiers still left and shot at them with his uninjured arm.

When she offered herself to help him, his determined gaze looked over to her. The harsh, rage burning in his eyes softened when he saw the care and determination in her fiery eyes. He silently nodded his head and winced hard as he wrapped his injured arm over Valery. Letting her help him so he wasn't struggling as much.

"Of course. With the beautiful... I mean valiant Sword of the Jedi..." His usual filter slipping due to the pain, he winced due to slip of tongue. "With the valiant Sword of the Jedi, I can't feel anything but safe." Hoping his recovery would excuse his revealing slip.

Valery's lips curved into a warm smile, though she fought to keep her amusement in check at his unexpected, unfiltered compliment. She could see Tarw's stubborn pride as he tried to keep up a brave front, his determination to protect her unwavering even now. His loyalty and resilience weren't lost on her, and she gave him an appreciative nod as they moved forward together.

"Well, thank you," she said softly, her tone playful but kind. "But for now, let's focus on getting you back safely, alright?" She glanced down to make sure he was steady, tightening her grip around him with a gentle reassurance. "Even valiant swords need strong allies, Tarw. You've done more than enough today."

Guiding him toward the awaiting ship, Valery kept her pace steady, giving him the support he needed while staying alert to any remaining threats. When they reached the ship's ramp, she glanced at him once more, her eyes filled with the fierce loyalty of a friend and protector. "Let's get you patched up so you're ready for the next fight."
