I continue to watch those gathered; taking note of who prefers groups, who prefers pairs and who, like me, tends to be more on the solo side of things. Of course it was not always that way with me. When normally I had hosted parties, I would be sure to greet everyone in kind. However I was not hosting this one. Instead I was merely a guest like most others.

But this gathering was more than meets the eye. It is for all intents and purposes, much like an experiment. Each individual was adept in a different field. And it is quite educational in observing what little cliques developed. Of course this is all valuable information to be utilized elsewhere; to cater to these very individuals at a later date.

I catch the gaze of young Mister Dashiel and return his nod. I can only expect that he will require time away from his duties to look after the child in his arms.

My attention is then turned to a late arrival. And one that I had read more than a handful of articles about. Some of the technicians at my laboratories boast about the tech that his company produces. Well, I suppose that I must indulge in their curiosities or I will never hear the end of it.

Gathering a fresh glass of wine, I approach Mister Lonek, bearing a well practiced smile. "Well you are certainly taller in person. Good evening Mister Lonek. I am Director Terallo. How do you do?"

Smiling and adjusting his lens as his assistant identified several investors as "targets", Andrew would then take a flute and observe the contents briefly before downing it quickly. He cleared his throat as he looked over his shoulder to the right. His eyes were fixed on Liin Terallo Liin Terallo .

Oh...Wh..." Andrew pauses looking in the same direction as she would before smirking. "Oh...Me? Yes I would suppose so... Good evening Director Terallo. It is certainly my pleasure to meet you. I wish I could say I knew who you were but Iv'e heard nothing. The night is young, correct? Arostocracts, partygoers, tradesmen, Investors.... All here to either show off like Alderaanian peacocks , or....." He paused to allow the Director to fill in the rest of the statement while he glanced at her with curiosity, all while C.E.R.A. was providing basic known history on the director to Lonek's mind.

Balun Dashiell Balun Dashiell

I raise my left eyebrow slightly as Mister Lonek appears to have not heard of me. Albeit I should not be too surprised, for biomolecules are not what everyone seeks.

"...Or Force wizards at a lightsaber tournament, " I finish off his sentence easily enough, following that up with a sip of my wine. "And what brings you here this evening? Are you looking to purchase some artwork?" None of it is mine, of course. This is not my art museum, nor is it my exhibit. My own paintings are safely tucked away from public view. More than likely it will always be so. Afterall, any hobby is not for public knowledge.

"I am here to... SELL my artwork actually. And MY artwork ... Well lets say that It is a wonderful picture of what a national planetary defense system would look like... So weapons that could destroy entire planets would be null and void.. If that sounds familiar. A work in progress if you will...Like myself." Lonek resonds while reading the room but keeping his focus on Director Terallo.

"You...Your not of the human variety are you? Excuse my forwardness but I am intrigued."

I give him a knowing nod. Although fortunately New Cov has no enemies, so the worry of having the planet destroyed is not there.

After another sip of my wine, I nod my head. "We are all a work in progress, Mister Lonek. And I can see such planetary defences being highly valuable for those living within hostile territories." I pause for a moment, unsure of how proper decorum would have me responf to such a question about my species. For I have never had it asked of me before. "Oh I am very much human, Mister Lonek. And of the...normal variety. I am not one of those Force wizards like most individuals are outside of New Cov." Having another sip of my wine, I change the subject, reverting it away from myself and to the kind of topic that I'd rather talk more freely about. "Have you heard of the N&Z Umbrella Corporation, Mister Lonek?"

Lonek would observe her responses and nod accordingly while in observation of the room. It would be a bold-faced lie for him to say that he has heard of the N&Z Umbrella Corp. But he also was attuned to the idea of many corporations on the rise within the new cov. This piqued his curiosity as he listened to her words intently.

"Can't say that I have... However, I would be under the assumption that it is a work in progress with a stable RND sector no? In my personal experience, When you are a part of a company, that gains a reputation.... Eyes are looking... Both with good intentions and bad.. Enlighten me if you will Director." He states as within a second, there was a "glitch" of sorts in the data reader that C.E.R.A. would provide.

Liin Terallo Liin Terallo

Perhaps N&Z is not as widely known as I would of thought. But there is not a whole lot that I know about Mister Lonek's business either.

"N&Z Umbrella Corporation, headed by the Marquis Tertius C. Nargath Tertius C. Nargath is a conglomorate of many businesses, one might say, covering a variety of fields of expertise and products. They merged with New Cov's own Biomolecule Corporation after I had successfully transitioned New Cov's government from a corporate one, to that of a democracy. Now for the most part I am the head Director of N&Z Laboratories, while still maintaining my position within NCBC. Biomolecules are the rarest resource in the Galaxy, Mister Lonek. And I find it to be a fine accomplishment indeed that I have ensured their protection while also developing new ways to utilize them."

Well that certainly was a mouthful. I surely did not intend to allow my words to get away with me. "Forgive me, Mister Lonek. I did not intend to launch myself into a speech. Sometimes it is difficult to restrain the politician in me."

it wasn't exactly Tertius' habit of being late on gatherings of high society where he'd be able to get new contacts for the business he ran and the family he headed, but with the recent developments in the outer rim, the hutt space and the collapse of the Dark empire and the Empire of the Lost, one could admittedly state that the man was certainly swamped in terms of responsibilities and duties. Even with the delegation of responsibilities to the Directors like Liin Terallo Liin Terallo , the Eriaduan noble still had things to deal with even on the homefront, where having to navigate the tightly monitored corporate structure of the Sith Empire was making everything even more difficult than it needed to be.

It was thus that the Marquis found himself entering the already quite busy venue where many a high ranking noble and wealthy aristocrat found themselves mingling with other likeminded people within high society. Just like he had tried to navigate the aforementioned corporate structure of the Sith Empire, the Marquis now attempted to navigate through the crowd, leaving behind his guard detail near the entrance of the venue as to not cause any discomfort for those present.

His goal was simple though, find someone he knew, try and get some small talk going and enjoy both business AND pleasure at this given time. Still, with this venue being seemingly hosted in a rather tasteful art galery, the eriaduan noble's attention was quite easily taken aback by the variety of wonderfully made art pieces displayed within the venue, making him wonder if perhaps he could try and see if any of these works were for sale later on.

Finally though, with a glass of the finest correllian brandy in hand, Tertius found himself approaching the aforementioned director Liin Terallo Liin Terallo , whose elegant appearance once again gave the Marquis a pleasant thought, a certainty that with someone like her actively working for and promoting the N&Z, it wouldn't need to fear too much of a decline in this troubled times.

"Lady Terallo, how utterly exquisite you look as always," With a soft and gentle bow, the Marquis showed his respect to the lady of house Terallo, who had been so kind to allow him to actively persuade her in matters of business and state from her very own home. With his eyes wandering off a bit, Tertius noticed the presence of Andrew Lonek Andrew Lonek as well, respectfully nodding in the man's direction while holding up his glass towards the fellow. "My apologies, where are my manners, sir. Allow me to introduce myself... I am Tertius C. Nargath, Marquis of Valkan and Chairman of the N&Z Umbrella Corporation, who may I be honored to address in this joyous occation?"

As Liin Terallo Liin Terallo Finished her statement on her role within the Umbrella corporation, Andrew nodded with respect for her statement. She was proud of her role and had asked forgiveness if she began to ramble. No harm, no foul. Andrew was delighted to hear Tertius C. Nargath Tertius C. Nargath 's approach. As he addressed the director, Andrew would step back two feet adjusting his frames as another flashing interruption in his data reading would occur.

As he was about to whisper, seemingly to himself, the Chairman introduced himself.

"Ah! Heheh, Yes. Mr. Nargath! Or... Chairman Nargath... Apologies...My name is Andrew Lonek, and the pleasure is all mine baby boy... Don't worry, It's a lingo... Ummm... I am the owner of Lonek Tech Industries....Or L.T.I.. Dealing with planetary defense systems and Armada Improvisions if you will...I could ramble on about it all day, however... My frames seem to be a little murky... If you all can excuse me for a minute?" Lonek pleads as he looks for the facilities.

"That's quite fascinating Miss Ike. I will be sure to call upon you for more information in the future. "

She made a mental note to visit Artisia for their artworks in the future. Perhaps she could seek out a tutor and take a few lessons while the was there, maybe take in a few art galleries. Yet that was on the backburner. She had far more important things to do ; like escape from this party. Persie could see her cousin constantly taking in Liin Terallo Liin Terallo .It made her pause. What was going on there? Lovers?

Why hide it then? Dashiells were fairly respected in most social circles - or at least she thought so. Maybe it was the fact her cousin had the Force and dressed like a vegetable sack at times? It would be embarrassing for any lady refinement to be seen with a man looking in such a manner. Must be it - clandestine meetings.

She was going to use that to her advantage.

"Excuse me a moment."

Only she didn't return. Persephone escaped with her security droid while Balun Dashiell Balun Dashiell and Matsu Ike Matsu Ike were distracted. Her plan had worked. She was off to find her no-good pirate father.

EXIT POST

I was not expecting the Marquis to arrive today. And yet here he is. His approach catches my attention, pulling it away from Mister Lonek. Ever since our last meeting; one that Director Karl Von Strauss Karl Von Strauss had attended, it had seemed as though the Marquis was ill. Yet now he appears to be the epitome of health. One can only hope that such an illness does not return anytime soon.

I bow my head to the Marquis, respectfully, and respond to his compliment in turn. "A pleasure as always to see you, Marqis Nargath. You look very elegant this evening."

As of late the only communications that we have had is when something is wrong or that there are some changes within the company that are in order. I can only hope that neither are on the table for today.

There is no need for me to introduce the pair, for they both were quick to exchange pleasantries on their own. However Mister Lonek's behavior seems a little odd. Indeed he seems to be rather distracted by something. "Take all the time that you need, Mister Lonek. You will know where to find us." I give him a bow of my head to indicate his departure, followed with a sip of my wine as I return my focus to the Marquis. When I speak to him, I keep my tone of voice quite low. "I must say that this is a pleasant surprise. I can only hope that you are faring better. I must say that your bout of illness had me concerned." And I know that I was not the only one that was worried. But I have hardly been the type to pry into another's personal affairs. Everyone else has given me the same type of personal distance.

Balun's attention had momentarily drifted toward Liin Terallo and the small cluster of individuals gathered around her. As his employer, she naturally commanded a level of focus, and he inclined his head slightly in acknowledgment when she met his gaze. However, it seemed he wasn't the only one whose interest had been drawn in that direction—Junko Ike, too, appeared to have taken notice.

What neither of them had realized was that Persephone Dashiell Persephone Dashiell had been waiting for just such an opportunity. Balun had been given the unenviable task of keeping an eye on his niece at the behest of her parents, Makai Dashiell Makai Dashiell and Myra Arceneau Dashiell Myra Arceneau Dashiell , but Persie had never been one to appreciate supervision. And, true to form, she had seized her first chance to slip away unnoticed.

Balun's expression shifted as he turned back toward where he expected to find Persephone and Junko Ike Junko Ike still engaged in conversation about the gallery's artwork. Instead, he found only Junko, standing alone. His brow furrowed. A quick scan of the surrounding crowd yielded no sign of his niece.

"Oh, chit… that little sneak," he muttered under his breath, exasperation evident in his voice. Though his words weren't directed at Junko, he knew she could hear him.

With a sharp exhale, he straightened. "Excuse my manners, Mrs. Ike, but it seems my niece has tactfully evaded me. My brother's going to kill me if I don't track her down…" He was already turning to leave, but hesitation tugged at him. He took a half step back, glancing at Junko once more, a flicker of opportunity crossing his mind.

"Despite this frustrating turn of events, would it be rude of me to ask if I could contact you in the future?" He spoke carefully, reluctant yet determined, as though weighing the risk of overstepping. "Whether in regard to business… or discussions of a more—" he paused, considering his words, "—Force-practicing nature?"

It was a bold request, made all the bolder by the brevity of their interaction. Yet the moment presented itself, and Balun had never been one to squander an opening when it mattered.

Feeling slightly confused when the man he did not know yet seemed to have what could be best described as a mental meltdown, the Marquis tilted his head a bit and scratched his chin. "Andrew Lonek... what do you think Director Liin, is this one worth remembering?"

I must say that this is a pleasant surprise. I can only hope that you are faring better. I must say that your bout of illness had me concerned."

"Hmm?" For a moment, Tertius seemed to still be dazed by how the interaction went, though when the full scope of the Director's words reached him and started to sink in, the Eriaduan noble smirked and waved with his free hand in the air, as if to dismiss any notions of feeling ill. "It's my left eye, during my youth, I lost most, if not nearly all the ability to see through it. It has been causing me quite a few bouts of headaches over the years...some worse than others. While I feel fine now, I do have to admit that they have begun to grow more frequent since about two years ago."

I give the Marquis a nod of my head in regards to his question about Mister Lonek. "The man is here, is he not? This gathering is not for those without a purpose to serve and some status." I do not believe that any common person could just attend without an invitation. And these specific invitations were quite rare to come by.

As the Marquis responds to my inquiry of his health, I listen closely. A loss of sight from childhood is giving him headaches? I cannot pretend to know the story of how such a thing had come to pass. But now was not the time, nor was this the place for such discussions. Some things were better left for private.

Yet there is one thing for me to touch on which would not be inappropriate at an event such as this. And that ties quite directly within my field. "If you would not mind, Marquis Nargath, I could have my people look into it for you. Perhaps the solution for your headaches is already within my laboratory." I cannot pretend to know whether or not he will grant my request, but that does not deter me from asking. For I know well enough of at least one other that would put forth the same request.

"The man is here, is he not? This gathering is not for those without a purpose to serve and some status."

"Well...to be fair...he did just ditch you quite abruptly...do I really look that frightening?" Tertius couldn't help himself but to joke about the strange way in which his own introduction to Andrew Lonek Andrew Lonek went. Alas, this was not the time to stay stuck on such minor things and moreso it was an opportunity for the Marquis to brush up on what was going on with Lady Terallo.
"If you would not mind, Marquis Nargath, I could have my people look into it for you. Perhaps the solution for your headaches is already within my laboratory."

"We can always go through another batch of tests, yes..." The eriaduan let out a sigh, showing that this was absolutely not the first time he'd have gone through treatments, diagnoses and tests of all kinds. After all, he was still a Nargath, a family with more wealth and political power than most would dare to acknowledge. "Now... all this me being sick business aside, how are you my dear? I have read that you have been quite cosy with the young Dashiel... now I generally do not like to pry in someone's private affairs, but ... I will attest that it is far from the worst choice of companion...I've certainly made worse choices, hahah."

The Marquis was correct. Mister Lonek did leave our company rather abruptly. "Perhaps he had gotten notified of an urgent matter to deal with? I am uncertain, for I have only just met him myself a few minutes prior to your arrival. And no, you do not look frightening at all. If I may say so, you look quite handsome this evening." It was rather odd of Mister Lonek to nearly run off; but who am I to judge a stranger so quickly? There could be plenty of reasons that he needed to leave, even if it was only temporary.

I am glad at least that the Marquis has agreed to indulge me in allowing for a tests in what would hopefully bring about a cure to what ails him. N&Z would be lost without him, and so would both myself and Director Van Strauss.

I have another sip of my wine as he changes the subject; only to nearly choke on it in the process as he speaks of myself and - could be be referring to Balun Dashiell Balun Dashiell ? I can only stare at the Marquis wide-eyed while I worked on composing myself from choking.

After a few seconds, I was finally able to find my voice. "I can assure you Marquis Nargath that there is nothing going on between Mister Dashiell and I. I had hired him as a bodyguard for some events; nothing more. I do not know what tabloids that you are reading, but they are quite incorrect." Perhaps my lack of going out on a date, or being in public with some beau, or showing any signs of affection to someone has caused the media to create their own scenarios or reasons as to why. "I have no companion or anything of the sort. I never have. One could just simply say that I am married to my work." And that was the truth of it. No gentleman has shown any interest in courting me. It is only in business that I am ever called upon. And that is something that I have grown to accept.

If there are any media persons present, then I can only hope that they have overheard that tidbit of information. The last thing that I need is to be embroiled in some make-believe scandal.

I just hope that the Dashiell family do not get wind of those tabloids.

Andrew looked up in the mirror at his reflection while observing his specs rather quickly as he noticed no one in the bathroom facility. He then placed the shades back on his face and sarcastically pose the question that was on his mind. He had no intentions of leaving so abruptly, and knew that no problem or malfunction couldn't be solved with the correct "code"

"Ok. C.E.R.A.... Talk to me.... This isn't the C.E.R.A. show. If you have a problem with my mingling amongst the finest of the galaxy it is ok to say so dear...."
Andrew states with sarcasm as he notices his specs seem to be working properly.

" Sir... I have no idea what happened.. I ran systems diagnostics immediately and there are no threats within my Central Processing or random access Memory...However, There could be slight electrical interference that caused the nanosecond "Glitch" within your visual display...."

"Ahhh...A nano glitch.. E.M.P. Perhaps a click out... Or...Not... Activate lockdown... Reboot systems and back up visual display database immediately for filing."

"Andre... Yes Mr.Lonek..."

"And...Did... Did you just.... Did you almost call me by my full name?"

"Shutting down..."

"Ok...Well.. I guess I will figure this out later.... Time to head back... Find a piece of Art that will look good on my bedroom wall, and offer top-notch security to those willing to listen. "

Well this is a bit of a fiasco that I was not expecting. Not in the slightest. I risk a brief glace towards Mister Dashiell and frown ever so slightly. People seem to be so desperate for me to find someone to be romantically involved with; that they turn any situation into that. Including having a bodyguard.

Now I know that there is no harm intended by their desires, however it does cause me harm. For it is merely a reminder that there have been no gentlemen callers with even the slightest interest in me. That fact alone I keep entirely to myself, much as I do with the rest of my personal life. Afterall, I do not make any request for their pity.

"If you will excuse me, Marquis Nargath, I must go and powder my nose." I bow my head and make my departure to the bathroom, when really I want to remove myself from this event entirely. However I know that I cannot just yet. But at the very least I can at least hide for a little while, if only to give myself the time to regain a calm composure with an air of indifference.
