I think it's counter-productive. While I sympathize with the Sith as a whole, one thing I do not agree with is the seeking of power for power's sake (as opposed to seeking power in order to accomplish a greater goal). All it does is fragment an order that would have ruled the galaxy nearly 6000 years ago if not for the constant backstabbing and rivalry among their ranks (I'm referring to the Great Hyperspace War, in case you don't know what I'm talking about). The One Sith had the right idea, to do away with that element of the old order, but alas ambition proved to be too much for some to resist even then, and so they too could not maintain their grasp on that power. The moral of the story is that one must be mindful that they do not lose what power they already have in the pursuit of greater power.
Which style of government do you prefer, a democratic but inefficient republic, or a powerful but iron-fisted imperial dictatorship?
