Auction of the Century (OPEN - Black Sun Dominion of Nar Kreeta)

Ashin Varanin

Professional Enabler
"OH-HO-HO-HO-HO."

Rasho the Hutt overlooked a vast auction floor. It was auction season lately, apparently. Capitalism had never looked so healthy. (Rasho belched healthfully.)

Black Sun respected Danger Arceneau. Black Sun had helped her profit, and had profited in turn. But with respect to Danger Arceneau, Black Sun's auction had saved the best for last. These bids came from a wide variety of sellers. Dangerous these lots might be, but Rasho was confident that the logic of capitalism would prevail.

Of course, other things were happening in the background. The auction house, and the trade world, were being...carefully and professionally repossessed. Nar Kreeta had been a trade nexus before the creation of the Mara Corridor. The Mara, and the nearby influence of the Republic and the Confederacy, had boosted the planet's significance. Structural power wasn't so much about controlling what happened, as it was about controlling where and when and how things happened. The processes, the locations, the accepted norms of transaction and capital flow. Today's happenings, licit and illicit, were about structural power as much as they were about profit.

Your posts have to be quality -- at least one paragraph. One-liners won't be counted for bids.

There is also the option of alternative bids --- where if the seller agrees the bidder can offer another item of value instead of credits.

Also minimum bids are 1000 increments -- be reasonable with the raising of bids, which range on an average 5k to 10k increments.

None of the wares are stored onsite.

And please write your total bid --- I won't be doing the math for you if you say "Adding 10 thousand extra from my last bid."

If Danger Arrceneau knew anything at all it is that location location location was everything.

And Nar Kreeta was a damn good location.

With the recent purchase of several trade stations from Corellian engineering, danger had a plan and business opportunity to set up as many profitable straight stations she could in the system. This was a gateway world to the Mara --- and Danger wanted to make sure ATC fuel space ports and trade stations were all over it.

And at the end of it all, she had every intention of this being another site for the South systems Bazaar.

Hail to the King, baby
Nar Kreeta. The hub of the dispossessed and the greedy, a place that suited Neskar just find. He could acquire equipment for a cut price, and perhaps meet some scumbags he could work for. Money was the game, and... well.. the name was Neskar, but rhyming wasn't his strong suite. There were but two items that caught his eye over the original list. The Gorgon Net Rifle. The AST-1 entrapment grenade launcher. Fine additions to his arsenals. And specifically tuned to kill or capture force users. Perfect, in his eyes. His reputation would be enhanced by such a deadly arsenal. He had to get them. He was not the richest, but he had skills. Incredibly valuable skills to some. The skill to kill, the ability to slay in cold blood, and the trait of lust for money and glory. That may make him useful in some eyes, and it was those eyes he meant to exploit. If that failed, he had a stash of credits kept from previous bounties and other jobs that he had not yet spent on gear or drink that would serve him well. And perhaps a steely look may deter the most intrigued bidder. Although, that didn't seem likely by some of the faces down here.

He swiftly entered the auction house, standing tall and nefarious. He stared straight at the auctioneer, and decided he would be the first to place a bid. Why not? At least he was early, else his prize may have been taken away from him. And that would not do.

"Twenty two thousand on the Gorgon Web Rifle, and the AST-1!" he yelled heatedly over the furore of the auction room. If money failed, he would not.

Rave slipped in beside @[member="Danger Arceneau"]. Arceneau could buy and sell Akure Executive Leatherworks a hundred times over, but Jorus had thought highly of the ginger, and AEL's products had sold very well at the SSS expo.

"Evenin', Miz Arceneau," she said. "Don't think we've met. Rave Merrill - the checkbook behind AEL. Woulda thought you'd be sick of auctions after running what you ran."

But power gravitated to power, and this world was changing hands, economically.

This wasn't a good place for a Panteer Nobleman, but it was fun, so he just had to be here. The young man had never participated in an auction and this whole life was still rather new to him, but he had the feeling it would be fun, that somehow he would get something out of this. Would it be material things or just an experience, no idea, but either way he would gain something. The young man was dressed in one of his finest attires, probably not necessary for a place like this, since it was everything but a typical high-quality nobleman's mansion, but it would have to do. He was there among the crowd of people, ready to place bids on everything. He looked over the table for bids and found a couple things that interested him. ''Fourty five thousand on the Krayt Dragon Egg and Fifteen thousand on the Corusca Gem.''

Lucien Cordel was not at this auction. It would be unbecoming of a man of his social stature to be in any were near any sort of criminal operation. He had however sent representatives two People a man and a woman both dressed exceptionally well they had accompanied Lucien's Gemstone from his vault to the black sun's chosen storage point. Lucien had some friends in the suns so when the call had come he had made a donation, of course if anyone asked the Gem had been stolen not given, ... but no one would ask.

His representative were here to exercise his will and ensure he succeeded in gaining his chosen prize a Krayt dragon egg. The taller of the two raised one hand "My employer wishes to bid 50,000 credits for the Krayt Dragon egg" They were well prepared to bid higher but the cheaper the better, Luciens display cabinets were notably devoid of rare curios and he wished to rectify that.

Arthur watched silently as the bids went one after another, piling up already, he would have to make sure though that the items he hd come here for would be his. Running his hand over the datapad he had come to learn how to use with ease and speed he placed three bets. Those were simply Twenty Thousand for the Gem, Sixty thousand for the Krayt Dragon Egg, and lastly and as more of a Joke than anything, a mil on the Date with one Spencer Jacobs. With his bids placed he leaned back and waited for someone he knew to turn their face to the auction.

I grunted as I surveyed the plethora of people at the auction. Hmm. There wasn't a whole lot I wanted. Most was too expensive for me, see. I'd only recently acquired a small fortune. Not much, honestly. Just a couple million. Most of that was gone now. Blown on repairs for the Farcry. The dented rust-bucket wasn't much, but she was mine. Plus, the armory inside my freighter was literally brimming with equipment. A lifetime supply of ammunition from Czerka, along with one of every weapon they sold. I was happy. People said I only smiled at guns, beer and bo-... well, you get the picture. I saw a few fine weapons that I really wanted. So I bid.

"50,000 on the Huntsman. 50,000 on the Seydakin. And uh..." are you kriffing me. The bid had been at 2,000 a pop for the Gorgon and AST-1. Some guy just bid 22,000 on both. Dumbass Mandalorian. "23,000 on the AST-1 and Gorgon."

Amarant

Dead Men End All Tales.
Mr. Ash was at the stock exchange, using a datapad to do some configuration. First part of the plan was simple. Send a message to Rasho:

The dummy account is number 75438. Deposit the portions of the commissions in here. I'll use the account to wire our-money into the stock exchange, trace it, and buy us a planet's economy. Gotta love capitalism. I'll need at least 500,000 credits to sink this in to get our little engine running, so keep encouraging them to go big with this.

He then made some bids, adding them to the list. After all, if he won, he'd be getting some of the money back anyway.

125,000 for the force-dead blood sample.
190,000 credits for the Solace-class. He liked it. Sleek, black, dangerous and wild. Him in a nutshell, although eh was mostly just wanting to drive up the price a little.

He flipped through the list. Spencer Jacobs? Huh. A million. More Huh. Well, out of his ball park to say the least. He preferred dates that didn't cost a year's salary. He nodded and ordered a caf. Had to keep up appearances, after all.

Lucien's attendants shook there head in unison "Sixty thousand on the dragon egg" The taller one called again the shorter of the pair went to gather drinks and talk to@[member="Rasho the Hutt"] the auctioneer. The man approached the auctioneer "I have been asked by His Lordship to inform you that any alternative payment offers for the Gemstone from his graces collection can be negotiate through me If this could be publicized I would be much obliged" The man then left with a bow in his experience Large people were best treated with care.

Neskar A'toll

Hail to the King, baby
(Turns out I'm actually retarded and cannot read properly. 2000, not 20,000. Whoops. That's midnight bidding for you.)

Neskar heard the clamour of a second bid, for his weapons. That would not do. Certainly not. He peaked his head to his side and glared for a second, before returning to his original stance. He narrowed his eyes and considered the possibilities. For now, money would suffice. "Twenty-five on the Gorgon and AST-1." He replied calmly and with a sense of confidence in his voice. He had to win these weapons. By any means necessary. They would be more than useful. Any sort of bounty on a force user would become infinity easier with such weaponry. And bounties were his business, and the old proverb said; never mess with another man's income. Especially a Mandalorian.

Vex arrived in typical fashion for him In a Litter adorned with rather questionable images, he had been out of the public for a long time. Drinking and ... associating with scantly clad Individuals, two of whom accompanied him that night. The two gamorreans who were bearing this litter lowered it down and Vex climbed out a harlot on each arm. He waddled to the front "30,000 on the Jawa sand crawler and If the seller wishes a free pass To the den of Vice and debauchery i intend to turn the sand crawler into" Upon placing his bid he immediately began his search for the alcohol whilst pondering whether he could entice patrons to go ... under cover with a jawa.

Rasho cleared his throat, a process best described in gallons, and addressed the room.

"All non-monetary or creative bids for the Corusca gem should be directed to the gentleman over there." He pointed to Cordel's anonymous representative.

The Surly midget of the Sith was not in person, but had a protocol droid doing his work remotely. After all, there was some good business to be made here, and it wasn't like he couldn't ask them to ship the material to Dagobah quietly. These were people who understood discretion, thankfully. That being said, he was in orbit, tapping away. The funy thign was that when the Sith empire fell, nobody actually stuck around long enough to claim their pensions or credits, and Olom had embezzled a decent amount away. All the sith for fighting over the ashes, but he pulled the major banks and trusts, making things work in accordance with his plan.

"60,000 credits for the Sandcrawler, and 75 for the Krayt Dragon egg." The embryonic cells from the egg would be fascinating, to say the least. However, he needed to conceal the fact that this was genetic research--one could never know who was watching this sale. Best to buy something irrelevant to confuse people.

"15,000 for the Tusken Armor and Gadderfii," the protocol droid added. There. Now it simply looked like Olom was buying a bunch of things from Tattooine. No one would suspect more than that, he hoped.

Huntsman, the alchemical tomahawk of Master Seroth Ur-Rahn...........bidding 55,000
Seydakin, the alchemical longknife of Master Seroth Ur-Rahn...............bidding 55,000

Rather than go down to the rented amphitheater and experience Nar Kreeta's wonderful weather, Domino had elected to stay aboard the Sangromancer in orbit as she oversaw there, which there weren't much of that she could see anyways. Computer people on other ships for the most part backing up Mr. Ash, Danger's guys staking out orbital sites in their little hover-arounds and looking like little shooting stars as they maneuvered around with their jets. So Domino did what most affluent women do when their bored, she went shopping. Or at least auctioning online. This way she could pass the time while maintaining and eye on the things she'd put up. If anyone needed her she was just a comm-call away in any case.

Now, those weapons just looked so interesting, that ysalamir did too but that was something she wanted to think about for awhile.

A man of unknown orientation raised a hand from the shadows, "A million for Ashin's armor, and a commodity of their choosing to paid and brought the locale of their choosing." Pexim was Zaidens second in command, and though Zaiden had been captured he still was his second. The Masters chain of information reached him just as much.

Ashin's armor was something that her "son" would wish to keep safe. It would never be worn, simply locked away and kept beautiful.

I grunted. Well, people were tryin' ta' outbid me. It happened at these kinda events. Made me a little irritated. Made me want to shoot 'em. Just a little. I heaved a sigh. Probably wouldn't have enough money to buy all four items. So I'd have to start cutting my losses. I liked the Gorgon. Neat thing. Didn't really much like the AST-1 now that I thought about it. Too easy for a Forcer to redirect.

Not so subtly, I shouldered my way through the bidding crowd and came to stand next to @[member="Neskar A'toll"]. "Hey Mando. I'll take the Gorgon, you take the AST. Deal?"

Not waiting for him to respond, I growled out, "13,000 on the Gorgon. 56,000 each for the Seydakin and Huntsman."

"1,200,000 for the date with Spencer Jacobs, a friend would love this." Daemos called, and couldnt deny paying for that would be worth it - Zero Four would owe him big if he won though. "And toss down 1,500,000 for the Dominus class squadron." They were gorgeous ships, and powerful as well. Recently he had been building an armada, and wished to have nothing but the best.

A Warlord needed a truly devastating platoon.

Magnar had come into the auction late, but something instantly caught his attention...

"Hey," he called, "Gorgon web rifle, 30,000!"

Arthur changed his bids instantly, eighty thousand for the egg and a good one point three million for the date, meanwhile he had found few in the room that he recognized and wondered how many big wigs there were in the galaxy. Crossing his hands on his knee he watched the datapad infront of him for the ever changing prices and being ready for when they do change as he knew they would.
