Early morning in Coruscant, Iron Fist Consortium HQ...

The Valkyrie’s shout echoed in the training area, informing her arrival for the early training session as a wake up call to the poor soldiers who were having difficulties keeping their eyes open still. They were having quite the progress compared to before, that was for sure, but the giant wasn’t in the mood for approvals. Besides, there was no limit for progress. One could always best themselves.

Once all of the soldiers got in line, Ylva spoke once more with the same coldness, ordering them to count, starting from left. Everyone was present, good.

“Synthia. Give me the report.” She called the Twi’lek, her second in command. Strong, quick and clever with numbers and tactics, the woman caught her attention enough to move up in the ranks.

“Yes Commander.” The green Twi’lek nodded and moved a few steps forward, carrying a datapad. The report contained information about the soldiers’ progress. Achievements, killcounts, success in missions... Synthia was good at collecting those, and Ylva was good at punishing those who didn’t perform well enough.

“Ellona, Markus, Rhia.” Those poor souls. “See me after training. We’ll have a talk.” Poor souls indeed. They couldn’t say anything, only nod in fear. “Good.” She had to break them and reshape them, it was the only way for them to become stronger.

“Now, then. Let us begin today’s training. Pair up according to the report. Synthia, those three will face you. Give them a good beating.” The Twi’lek grinned. “You heard her. Come on.”

As was commanded, the trainees paired up and proceeded to engage one another in melee, using polearms, swords and the like. The sound of weapons clashing against one another filled the hall, accompanied by the occasional cry of pain. It helped that the floor was not padded. Training was supposed to be realistic, and so fights did not cease just because a contestant had drawn first blood or been knocked on his arse. The credo was simple: The strong thrived, the weak perished. That was why warriors had to be broken down and reshaped.

Just as Synthia swung her staff into Ellona's face and probably messed up her jaw, two figures appeared in the room. "Is this defy racial stereotypes day? Twi'leks don't wear actual clothes, let alone armour." Alexia observed sarcastically as she watched Synthia duck under a heavy blow before ramming her staff into Markus' ribs. Where did you find her, sister?"

"Slave camp. I gave her a choice. Take up the dagger, stab your master to death and go free. Or be weak and remain a slave," Enyo replied. She was using her more humane tone, as opposed to the dull monotone she usually spoke in.

Alexia nodded, as if that kind of behaviour was normal. Maybe it was the light, but she could have sworn she saw a glint of metal amongst the alien's headtails. "Her left lekku is not quite right. Cybernetic?"

"You're observant," there was something close to approval in Enyo's tone, as bland as it was. "Part of it had to be replaced due to mutilation. Caused some damage to her nervous system. Mood swings ensued. Nothing a few alterations could not fix. It makes communicating with others of her kind difficult though."

"Doubt most would be worth chatting with," Alexia remarked. "I mean most are content with being objects of desire and letting others push them around." By now, Rhia was on the floor, raising her hands in defeat. For good measure, Synthia gave her a hard kick before stepping aside.

There was a pause. "Yes, they do. You find individuals like that across every species, Alexia, though some are more inclined to servile behaviour than others. The majority of people are sheep. The weak lament their fate, but if they do not fight for their freedom, they deserve the chains."

"You and Amara managed to break yours, and it wasn't just your bodies that were chained," Alexia agreed. Her eyes fell upon the giant who was directing the training session. Even from afar, it was impossible to miss her.

"So this is that Ylva Wolfsbane woman you told me about. Looks...feral. Wild. So many recruits are scared of her. Or want to bed. Sometimes both. Seeing her up close, I'd wadger that death by snu-snu would be a real possibility. "Enyo gave her a look, as if she did not get that reference. "It means dying while getting laid, sister."

"She is no Black Widow. May break someone's pelvis though. The only recruits she's skilled were utterly worthless."

"There is one thing I am curious about, sis. Almost everyone in the inner circle has at least one cybernetic implant. So why haven't you upgraded her yet?" Alexia queried curiously while she watched the sparring sessions.

"She's been useful so far unaugmented. I will eventually though."
