The Sith Knight somersaulted backwards, out of her reach. Not good. The Sith Knight quickly lunged forward. Definitely not good. And he was fast too. Sage forced Zylah on the defence. She hated being on the defence. Normally, her argument was that she didn't have patience for it, but too much was going on too fast for her to not feel entertained. The Arkanian was not a particular fan of being split open, and as such her green lightsaber was brought down to block his. The fact that it barely had gotten there in time frightened her. However, fear would serve no purpose if she wished to come out of this alive, so she made an effort to clear her mind of unnecessary distractions. She remembered what Corvus had told her; Trust in the Force. It will never let you down
The situation was dire, and growing increasingly bad for the young Padawan. His arm... It wasn't an arm, in its place instead there were monsters. She had not expected this, the sudden rush of battle and the revelation of a weapon previously unknown to her had caught her off guard. As the amphistaves sought to wrap around her, she realized something would have to be done. Seeing no other way out of this, her immediate reaction was to evade similarly as she had done before, in a friendly spar against another Padawan. It had worked then. But this... This was different.
She bent her legs slightly, then kicked off, leaping up into the air. Her lightsaber flowed up ahead of her, slashing at the head of the snake-like being that attempted to coil itself around her neck. Her goal was to decapitate it, but simply knocking it clear of her path would suffice. Zylah would perform a flip over Sage. She had great flexibility and leaping power, though the jump was aided with the Force as well. After the initial strike against one of the amphistaves, she'd follow up mid-air with a second strike against Sage's head. Ultimately, the leap would have Zylah land behind Sage, blade up in a standard vertical guard. He wasn't the only Ataru practitioner. Sadly for her, he was the most experienced one. If Sage was slow to turn, or didn't counter with a move of his own, Zylah would push the attack, stepping in with one of the standard Ataru attack sequences she had practiced, high strikes aimed at his upper body, arms and shoulders. She'd have to be extra cautious due to his strange arm.
This was Zylah's first encounter with a Sith. He was... more handsome than she had expected. She was almost surprised to see that his nose was still attached, and his face was not a crater of decay and wrinkles. Though his appearance may not have been ugly, his presence in the Force certainly was. There was no doubt at all that this man posed a threat to the Republic, to the Jedi. He needed to be challenged. Her only regret was that she was doing so alone.
