Invasion Bark at the Moon (OS Invasion of Telti)

Location: C2 – Moving to D2
Objective: GTFO of this area
Allies: None near by ATM
Enemies: Sith and their allies.
Engaging: [member="Lily Kirsche Kuhn"] hopefully soon

As she stopped she felt a sharp pain and looked to her side, shrapnel had found a place to pierce her armor. Pulling it out she groaned loudly and hissed before she began to move down again falling back as she tried to regroup. As she fell back she had to be careful moving down the hall fast as she could while not running into anything like a horde of banthas or something else in this crazy maze. She moved down the hall and tried to keep alert as she held her side for the moment. She could bandage it up but all that would do is stop bleeding. She’d have to do that that’s for sure. By the time she reached the next room she was breathing heavier.

The Kel Dor was not typically one for rash action, but the starting pain of the blow to his wounded arm had driven Kian into making a bit of a blunder. A force push against a Sith Lord was a hard thing to pull off.....a force push against a Sith Lord in Vong armor....pointless. Kian's attack broke like waves on a shore on the chest of the larger man before him. Realizing his blunder as the pain faded and his mind cleared, Kian knew too well how precarious a position he was in.

So Kian did something he hated doing.....he retreated.

Kian began to dart backwards, his lightsaber sparking against the Vong's as it slide down the blade and away from him. Somewhat out of control, when Kian's blade cleared the tip of the Sith's, Kian saw the flash and felt the heat of the blade swinging out in front of him, mere inches from his face. Kian's move could very well have gotten him killed....but it had also saved him from the grapple with the larger man.

Regardless, Kian chastised himself as he switched his blade over to a two-handed grip once more. Now, not locked in a life or death embrace (at least for a few seconds), Kian had the opportunity to assess the injury to his upper arm. The original cut was not sever, but the kick had opened up the wound and the side of Kian's robes were stained with a fresh coat of blood. He could feel his pulse in that wound and while it wasn't sever, it certainly would slow his movements down. Kian breathed deep and began to circle back around the larger man, allowing the force to fill him, to help him to overcome his exhaustion and his pain.

Realizing that the overt use of the force against his Vongified* opponent was likely only going to hinder, not help him, Kian advanced slowly toward his opponent once more, his lightsaber held in a typical Jedi Ready stance. Kian came at his opponent with a high slash aiming to hit his opponent's right shoulder, but the maneuver was only a feint hoping to get his opponent to raise his weapon up in a parry. Kian's real attack would come when he dropped down and swept his blade across for the Sith's knee joints, hoping to score a more successful hit on the armor at a joint.

All around them chaos continued to reign supreme as several blasts could be felt in the corridor beyond them as the YVH-2 droids began to detonate their self-destruct protocol, rushing into the throng of enemy to optimize the casualties. Matsu, while injured, had conjured up some dark spell, perverting the bodies of the dead into animated corpses....while Ryan was once more closing with the enemy.

The Sith Lord smiled broadly at both the woman's comments and subsequent actions. For a brief moment, he permitted himself to wonder how liberating it must have been to be an idealistic fool like, apparently, the vast majority of Jedi he encountered.

As Nefertari initiated her Ataru advance, Cameron remained perfectly motionless as the strength of the dark side coalesced against his physical and metaphysical presence. The effect was such that a visible, albeit relatively small, amount of purple-black smoke began to gather around his limbs. The crimson blade of the weapon in his right hand began to turn almost red-orange from the strength of energy collecting in the extension of Cameron's very soul.

In the past...perhaps he would have been concerned as to the effects of light-side attacks on his being. He'd suffered them countless times in the past, but that certainly did not make them any less painful or damaging when done appropriately. A part of him was curious to see the effect it would have now courtesy of his deep emotional and Force bond with [member="Amorella Mae"].

She shouldered the surges of his dark presence at times just as he shouldered her own range of emotions.

The woman was easily the source of his greatest strength and weakness simultaneously.

My troops were still advancing in time with the Sith Troops fighting retreat while I moved around to the flank, ready to take my shot and drop the sith trooper. Harley was moving, at least a little bit, but I was still moving on adrenaline alone. My injuries were starting to effect me, even through the adrenaline of battle and my near decade of military experience couldn't make pain or injury go away. Finally off to the flank I had a decent bead on the officer and snapped off a series of armor piercing rounds at him. I kind of wished I still had a missile or was close enough to get to grips with him, but that wasn't in the cards right now. All I could do was try and take him out of the equation and throw his soldiers into disarray.

Hopefully without him commanding troops they would become more disorganized and make mistakes. Nonetheless it was time to make some adjustments to my overall strategy. The fighting retreat had left the Sith Troops pressing away from my lines were giving ground, but it was about time to attempt something new.

Arms still free and angled towards Athena, Dair didn't have much to do to save the soldier. Finer control of power, as previously stated, was not his strong point. The soldier certainly felt his landing, but luckily nothing broke besides his pride as Dair summoned telekinesis to guide him to the ground next to Dair. The man stumbled up, blushing at having been used as a toy and having to be saved by a wizard, turned back to his squad and hoisted his weapon. He reformed with them and went back into the battle, completely unknowing that he was purely background noise in this fight. The author may take pity on him and write more about him later, it remains to be seen if Private Arthur Divale will ever show up IC again.

Dair's attention had only strayed from the assembling group before him and Jacen for the moment it took to soften the landing of the soldier. He noticed some strange sparking along the flesh of one of them. The one that had the strongest presence in the force of the three of them and the one that was looking directly at Dair. Dair took a deep breath and tested his right leg again. He was able to put more weight on it, and the tingling was near constant, letting him know that feeling was starting to come back more. Dair moved off a little bit, opening the space between Jacen and himself. It would mean they were on their own, but Jacen had a better chance of winning if the Knight wasn't in his area, and if Dair was going to duel a Knight, he wanted the acolytes away from him. The sparking skin gave him some worry, he didn't want any of that in a duel as he didn't have anything he knew could counter it besides a strong grasp of physics. If only he were in a rubber suit...

As he was not in a rubber suit, however, Dair decided to use a different tactic. The heater had been sliced in two when he had thrown it at Athena, so he glanced at the one directly behind Jareth and summoned his will. He made a come hither motion, and the half a heater flew toward the Sith Knight rapidly. Dair doubted it would cause any damage in and of itself, but if the Sith knight had somehow charged himself with electricity, the touch of the heater should discharge it effectively without harming anyone.

“Voidstalker,” came a call on Jacen’s com. “We’ve got Vong tearing through the corridor. Our warning post spotted them, so we’ve got a good defensive position. We can hold them, but there’s no way we’re retreating that way.”

“Understood,” Jacen replied. “We’re now under attack from the west, retreating that way will be difficult,” he relayed to the other Jedi.

For now, he couldn’t concern himself with such matters. All that counted was holding position, and hopefully turning back the tide. The little birdy had managed to evade a great number of attacks with barely a scratch, and was now back in a pack of more Sith. His last shots at the avian creature had mostly hit an animated corpse. Her telekinetic blast having no effect on the blaster bolts fired by the Occluder.

A Togruta appeared to slice a projectile in two. Poor way to deal with such an attack. A lightsaber could cut through a heavy object with ease, but did little to arrest or deflect the momentum of such a strike.

Battlefield instincts quickly taking over, Jacen fired a stream of bursts from his CC13 blaster than near cut the animated soldier in two. He didn’t consider the abomination much of a threat, but he needed a clear shot. His finger shifted to the secondary trigger, as he lined up the next shot.

Whump

The underslung grenade launcher fired its hi-ex round. He’d aimed for the ground before the female Sith, but he reached out and gave it a telekinetic boost. Affecting such a small and rapid projectile was at the very edge of his control. However, he hoped that by adding another force to the projectile, any Sith attempting to use the Force to halt the grenade would have to both contend with and arrest its significant momentum, whilst also counteracting the force he was applying to it.

It wasn’t the most accurate shot ever, but anything within a few metres of the detonation would be at risk of suffering serious damage. The munition would likely be causing less significant damage to anything caught up in a much wider radius around the point of detonation.

Jacen slammed another grenade into the underslung chamber, but the time for doing any damage at a distance was evaporating. Firing blaster bolts at a Sith was a sure-fire way to be cut down by deflected bolts from an experienced practitioner. Instead, he tested his weight on his still jittery leg, and settled into a comfortable and stable defensive posture.

Well, let’s get to it, he thought to himself. The chance of retreat had been cut down. However, trying to bring down a determined foe with their back to the wall was always a daunting prospect.

With the momentum of her body it would be impossible to stop the direction she was traveling, and while Steve was a tiny target, he may very well have gotten caught up in the twirling blades as her body was catapulted towards Krest if not for immediate action. As the distance gap was closed her hands released the activator switches on her two weapons while her palms outstretched mid-twist. Her body had already made its way through 60% of the travel distance of the maneuver so she needed to perform the technique before it was too late.

A sudden release of telekinetic energy would radiate outwards from her position like a powerful wave in all directions roughly 10 meters around her, forcing a surge of the Force to act as an explosion to knock anything and everything in that 10 meter radius a substantial distance away, acting as well to negate the effect of the Zabrak's own implementation of Force Pull. This would at least save both Jedi from unintentionally carving a wondrous new scar into the other, while ensuring that the Sith had no time to intervene further before she had landed and readjusted.

When her feet landed and her body righted itself, she glanced toward Steve and back to the red skinned one. She felt a stronger connection to the Force than she had ever in the past, like a raging rapid coursing through her body, like she was quite literally energized. Her left hand began to feel an awkward twinge in it as she moved to raise and reignite her sabers, as if it were numb, or pulsing. While she continued on to activate the right handed blade her left continued to feel strange, she wasn't entirely sure what it was, but it was a feeling unlike she had experienced before. As she moved to re-engage Ferus, her hand remained outstretched, as if directed, no, commanded to by the Force, and by acting as the will of the Force, arcing from her fingertips erupted a snap-hiss of green electric bolts that nipped at the air as they made their way toward Krest. Her eyes snapped open wide in disbelief, looking on as the energy was released and faded from her hand a few seconds later.

Kaia’s feeling of relief granted by the feeling of fresh air was interrupted as she felt the malicious presence of Darth Carach wrapping around to grip her. It was bad, very bad. She called on the force to aid her and tried to blow his presence away.

"Oh Kark!"

Eventually failing to expel the Sith Lord’s grip, she tried to go with the flow as she had been trained to. Bringing her limbs to break the fall, and on the first wall it had some effect; however, she did not do well enough on softening the blow when she was smashed into the ceiling, her lightsabre fell out of her hand and shorted. Then, when she was smashed into the ground, she landed hard among the debris. Kaia wheezed in pain, her fingers reaching feebly for the shorted lightsabre while darkness closed around her consciousness. She was in pain, so much pain. She had to fight; she had to save them.

If smashed against the walls, Kaia would lay there limp, but far from dead. Out cold, vulnerable, and with unknown injuries, yet not beyond rescue and recovery.

His head hurt immensely.

It felt like someone had doused the right side of his scalp with fuel and lit it on fire. He hadn't rubbed it physically yet, but he was beginning to think that the liquid that [member="Darth Nephthys"]'s hydrastaff had spit on him earlier was some sort of acid. Maybe if I can find a base solution somewhere, I'll be able to neutralize some of its potency...He shuffled those thoughts to the back of his mind, but pain once again distracted him. Even as he hurled a tiny crate at the Sith Lords, he spit out the warped rebreather, letting it clatter to the floor in front of his feet. The one good thing that happened with the pain was that some sense of his normal state of mind was beginning to engender itself once again. Though he still felt like he had had an exceptionally bad hang-over possibly effected by street drugs.

He watched as [member="Darth Carach"] tore apart [member="Kaia Vullen"], nearly finishing her off. Soon their attention will all be on me...As if to reinforce that thought, [member="Darth Nephthys"] sent out a spray of lightning at him. Instinctively, the man's Soresu training regimen clicked into place, even the force of the lightning was far more powerful than the shocks of the remotes he had trained against in the past had been. He flicked his wrist and impaled his blade into the floor in an attempt to ground the attack, but her attack was too quick and sudden for him to block all of it. Lightning crackled around his lightsaber hand and lashed out at his curled fingers, causing several of them to spasm. Even as the lightning faded from sight, he could now feel a burning sensation on his hand that was not unsimilar to what he felt on his head. He grunted and gasped out in pain. I can't focus on that now...His green eyes darted around the room, briefly settling on several lines of stacked crates which he had taken to throwing at the Sith Lords.

Stretching out through the Force, the man grabbed one last crate, hurtled it roughly at the two Sith Lords in an attempt to distract them, and focused his willpower into his feet. He quickly sprinted into the cover of that labyrinthian maze, hoping to elude the Sith Lords for a moment before pondering his next move.

Now that the door was open between corridors, the Blood Monarchs and the Royal Guards moved cautiously through the debris to enter B2. Droid parts and durasteel crates littered the floor.

They paused at the doorway until given the signal, and when ordered, rushed into the space, their footfalls echoing through the chamber. When Tmoxin reached the area herself she could see a battle going on between three Jedi and two Sith Lords, and lo and behold one of them was Darth Carach and his acolyte. But she couldn’t let her feelings over her situation between her and the Voice of the Dark Lord affect her performance. Tmoxin needed to focus now on helping to neutralize the Jedi.

Tmoxin felt it best to not send the shock troopers into this area yet because of the dueling Force users. If she even scraped the Voice or his acolyte with a missile, she would face the firing squad. The Commander gave the orders and the front line of the Blood Monarchs and Royal Guards rushed into the room and with E-11 blasters and vibroswords, attacked the Jedi as he ran through the complex, trying to evade the Sith Lords.

*Dust stood at the ready, waiting just a moment for the answer of his companions. He had allowed himself to be vulnerable as he heard a creaking of metal and turned around just in time to witness a heating unit coming toward him. His saber was belted, he had no time to counter it in the force: Dust would have to avoid the large metal object. Dodging to the side, Dust was unable to get out of the way of the heater piece and felt an impact against his right shoulder. This caused a sharp pain in his shoulder and numbed it slightly just at the shoulder plate meaning if one were smart enough they might be able to take advantage of the dull ache in Dust's shoulder; however, in terms of dissipating the electric charge, Dust was insulated to the ground and the heater was not in contact with the ground, the charge would be reduced to the point of a painful shock and a slightly lesser charge would also be present in the heater. (Charges from two objects insulated from the ground only reduce the charge as opposed to fully discharging it in other words, and the amount depends on the shape of the object.) Dust would need to be more careful so he pulled out his lightsaber and advanced toward Dair, keeping his senses keenly aware of the environment around him to ensure no more surprise attacks.*

The Sith Captain Mainwaring was middle of coordinating his troops, when a few shot rang out from the flank. One struck him clean in the chest, the round pierced his armour and went straight through his heart. He slumped to ground, and blood came pouring out of chest wound. In the temporary confusion, the republic managed to rush his front. Closing the gap and killing some more his men. As they did some of his troops fired back at the sharp shooter, who was on the flank. In the chaos his number two a sith lieutenant named Pike, tried to get into the position to carry on the job. Though it would take him time as he trying to keep head down as he did, he was not as experienced as his dead commander was. The troops began reorganize a little, though the blow scattered them into three groups. First lot twenty men divided there fire between the main republic force, and this flank attack. The second group of thirty one men, opened fire on main body republic force coming at them. This was whilst they were trying to find more cover in the rear, as the front got over run a little. The last group of twenty one men had positioned themselves, waiting for the other group to get clear so they could open up on the republic troops. Sith troops did not need a commander, as they were well trained and efficient fighters, commander was just bonus. Why the sith hq could see everything, and relay order as necessary, until some one could take over. This was one main advantages of sith infantry armour, it relayed real time battle ground information to the hq, and they could relay orders back.

Harley meantime rolled of the zero gravity stretcher, her stomach muscle were aching. She knew that man had to many area effect weapons on him, for her to deal with. He was also too quick of draw for her, and worse still she felt bruised and battered on the inside. She kept her down for a bit hoping for break, where she could be effective again. Whilst she waited she drunk some water, slumped herself against some cover.

As the Sith knight approached, Dair centered himself. His breathing deepened and he allowed himself to dip into the icy pool that was the connection he had to the force. He allowed the feeling of the icy center to suffuse his limbs as he shook them out, getting ready for part two of this battle. He felt stronger, faster, but knew that until he intentionally utilized a specific power the feeling was just the force making him refreshed.

Jareth Johnathon Holst said:
Dust: *To Dair* "I have no disposition against you, Jedi. Leave now and we needn't fight."
Dair shook his head sadly as he pulled Winter from his belt and ignited it. The icy aura around him seemed to deepen as the solari crystal powered blade ignited. The ice blue blade seemed to emanate a cold aura that sang true with Dair's own. The blade reflected in Dair's icy blue eyes as he brought the blade up for a salute. Dair did not want a fight. He enjoyed battle, but knew that far to much depended on the outcome of their actions here for this to be simply a battle.

"I have none against you, save that you are here with a force bent on invading space that I am sworn to protect. Therefore, I needs must refuse your offer. I would say that you may leave, but we both know that you have set your course." Dair settled back into a defensive posture, holding his lightsaber out in front of him horizontally. The feeling in his leg was mostly back to normal now, he was able to fall into his defensive stance fairly easily. Dair unfocused his eyes, allowing his peripheral vision rule. Peripheral allowed for the best tracking of movement, where as the centered and focused vision most use is best for distinguishing colors and shapes. Dair let himself go with the force, feeling its heady rush flow through his skin, body and mind. He called up some force speed, against a knight level practitioner he would need to try to end the battle quickly, and so he deigned to use the force in this portion of the battle.

It was a desperate last ditch stand. They had needed it to succeed. As she saw what happened to Des, moments before impact, her eyes widened. The sight of sparkling electricity, their skeletons even visible at some point was a terrifying sight. She didn't want to imagine the pain, yet, some of it slipped through to her through the Force, sharing for a moment in a fraction of Des' agony. At that point, it seemed like their daring move would fail. It was not, however, a complete failure. Her blade had touched with flesh.

After the fact, her first concern was to see that Des was alright. The attack had ironically saved him from a likely more fatal fate, knocking him backwards and clear of Zylah's strike. A blessing in electrically charged disguise. Considering Des was clear enough to toss out insults, she figured he was fine. Of course, she did not know he had taken a hit previously from the amphistaves, nor was she aware of their lethal effect. Turning to face Sage Bane once more, lightsaber quick to rise up in a guard, she allowed herself a smile; unjedilike in its taunting nature. "How's that for the broad side of a freighter hull, pateesa?" no doubt her Huttese accent was off, she was merely mimicking his. It was not a language she was fluent in.

Des rolled away, and that was fine. He'd been through his fair share. If he could muster the strength to aid her, he would, if not, then that was okay. She would do her best, and the Force would decide her fate. She could not relent now, she had to press the attack. Attacking was in her nature, and it was in many ways why Ataru appealed to her so much as it did. Zylah did not wish to give the Sith time to recover, to think about what had happened, what had went wrong, or have time to assess his wounds. As soon as possible, she would go on the offensive, for psychological effect as much as strategic. She needed every minor edge she could get if she was to live through this one.

Zylah flung herself at him, with renewed vigour. Again, she came at him with the swift and violent slashes and lunges, typical of the Ataru form. She was faster than before, if a little less precise, as if driven by the faint hope of victory. It had been proven now; even Sith could bleed. At the end of one of her sequences, she'd aim her strike against his own lightsaber, attempting to knock it to the side. She'd allow her own blade to bounce of his, if they connected, only to redirect her swing towards the head of one of the amphistaves, wanting to recreate the pain she had caused him by chance earlier, in an attempt to evade. Battered but unbroken.

That pretty much described her situation right now. Just about a handful of her forces remained. Most of them having been decimated by the Jedi and his forces. Fortunately, the Jedi seemed to think that whatever remained of Greta and her forces were too little of threat compared to what was coming for them, that he had fled the sector, leaving the battered Sith soldiers behind.

She could feel a dark presence nearby. A Sith of notable repute with the force must have heard her plea for help. She was thankful for that. The source of the dark and powerful aura was revealed to come from the Hand of the Dark Lord herself, [member="Vrag"]. Greta bowed to her in respect to the Hand as she passed, grateful and relieved to reinforced and live to fight another day.

She wasn't about to go and chase him either. The Hand was more than enough to defeat him. There wasn't even a glimmer of doubt in her mind. Coupled with the fact that she wasn't really in any shape to go after pursing Jedi with the little troops she had left. It was best that she regrouped up with Commander Temi's forces. She had heard from the broadcast channels that the main forces were already almost here.

With the time she had before the commander arrived, she had looked over to her surviving soldiers and congratulated them on a job well done. It wasn't exactly a success but it wasn't a failure either. But one thing was for sure. Her soldiers had followed her loyally and fought valiantly without hesitation, every single one of them. She went over the corpses of her fallen, and proceeded to retrieve their holo identifcation tags.

She would not let their names go unforgotten.

It was not long for the Commander's forces arrived. Her forces had taken a beating as well, but hardly as severe as her own decimated forces. Walking up to the Commander, she reported with a salute. "Commander, Lieutenant Greta Kohler reporting back for duty. These are what remains of my forces, but we are eager for some payback!" The young officer gestured to the handful of soldiers crowding around her as she spoke to Commander Temi.

Jareth Johnathon Holst said:
Dust: "Then it seems we must fight."
"You are different from your allies. Why are you here?" Dair asked. He sensed hesitance in the knight, not the anger and determination that the bird woman, Athena, had, nor the rage and hate that existed within the Sith Lords who battled Masters Karr and Korr behind him.

Dair's leg now felt well enough for full movement, but he still stayed his hand. In his mind, if there was a chance to redeem Jareth, then it should be taken. However, once the battle was entered in full, Dair would only be moved by full surrender.

A small amount of colorful smoke began to come from the Sith Lord. That didn't shake Nef's resolve, this man was clearly deep in the dark side.
"Certainly not the strongest dark side force I have felt" she taunted
The Jedi Knight sent a fire extinguisher on the wall at the side of her opponent's head before acrobatically leaping to the opposite side of the adversary.

"Think fast!" Nefertari blurted as she went for a slash at the Dark-skinned Sith Lord's forearm.
If the attack hit as intended, Nefertari would leave a painful scar and little more. If the opponent tried to dodge the object flying at him...well, there was no guarantee that worse injuries wouldn't occur.

While one of their members was having a conversation as casual as grabbing a cup o'cafe, her attention was away from the one with the iceberg-lettuce (absolutely no nutritional value) mind and tuned to Mister Force Grabby and her shining sith acolyte. Force Grabby would need a new nickname assigned as Mister Peow Peow.

The darkside crackled outward as she raised her fingers. A blue-tinted force barrier shimmered to life and went to encase the grenade as it exploded, shielding her face within the crook of her arm. She still felt the heat. The barrier absorbed most of the blast and certainly the blast-radius that Tanek may have been in.

The floor where it hit wasn't so lucky.

And neither were her legs. She looked down and saw some shrapnel that made it through the barrier, sticking out like nasty splinters. She wavered on her feet, black-spots speckling her vision. Suddenly she was tired. Very, very tired.

Sith soldiers were at her side in moments and began to escort the acolyte to the transport shuttles. On her way out, she tried to boost Tanek and Jareth's strength as much as an acolyte could through the force.

(Spontaneous IRL Vacay - EXIT POST - Had a blast. Have fun ya'll!!)

Dust: "I am here because I must be. The thing about this world: in order to defend that which you hold most dear, you must have the power to do so. I didn't have the power, so I must gain that in order to defend what is most dear to others. Until I can destroy HIM I can't change my path. My path is clear, the way is set, and this is just another unfortunate stepping stone between me and my goal. I sincerely do not wish to fight you, as you seem a strong and upright person. Willing to defend that which he holds dear, I have even saved Jedi like you before; however, this is not a time which I can risk that. May the force be with you, and may those closest to you be safe from the blade."

*Dust felt a ripple in the force as Athena strengthened him. He was still at the ready waiting for the Jedi's next words. He had also noted the downed acolyte, unfortunate that he might have to do more dirty work than he had ever planned.*
