Orphen, having moved back with Lady Kay, could not help but know that he was needed in the fight which was ensuing, he had been ordered back to protect the good lady, though, the grand thing about being him, was, that he worked best while at considerable range. He wasn't about to let his friend fight this thing alone, and without some form of fire support, and as the battle waged on, he could not help but begin to understand that this opponent was perhaps the near polar opposite of himself. He wielded the power of nature, versus the power of technology and refinement. Not to mention he looked like a small drop-bear and Orphen always considered himself to have a natural flair. Looking back to the senetor for a moment, he raised he raised his arm as if to command her back... having used this weapon once before, hopefully the Ewok would very soon learn that it was not always within his best interests to fight those that compliment each other... Orphen would have time to bark commands all he wanted, but, it was time for the Savant to do what he did best...
Raising his own gauntlet, once again, like an inverted mirror perverting all that he was, or perhaps his image a purification of the Ewoks... Orphen leveled the weapon with his opponent, as the charged weapon was more than ready for fire. The A.I. within its system rapidly ran its check in less than a tenth of a second as the fingers of the gauntlet locked into place, the six brilliant blue beams from under his wrist, as well as from his little finger, ring finger, middle finger, index finger and thumb united over his palm-implanted lens before igniting forward in a full power beam for the center of the Ewok's chest, being slightly to a side of the combat, knowing full well there were some foliage in the way, and unlucky tree took some of the initial brunt of the bolt as the super charric ripped through the bark and green matter as if it were a bullet ripping through Styrofoam and continuing onward more or less undisturbed. The six beams, more powerful than the sum of their parts, was capable of delivering power which would flip a speeder and blow blast doors off of their hinges with the concentrated full bolt... The flaw however, was that this beam could only be fired once every twenty seconds, though it was more than powerful enough to turn the Ewok into little more than a fine red mist should it land directly.
And the hole it would burrow into the earth afterwards as it continued would also be a nice, deep home for a rabbit or some other life some-day, he was sure.
The hope-ful aim was to take the Ewok off guard, and end him quickly with the incredible blast, though, short of that, the secondary plan was to distract the Ewok enough so that he would have to change focus, and quickly, and hopefully loose his grip on Gwrtheryn before the roots could become too entwined around his hulking legs... After the shot was fired, he looked back to the Senator, while it was a good idea to get off the planet, he understood the plight of the stubborn senator, taking pity on her for a moment he thought about his master's ship. Looking over in the direction of it, he hoped that it would have enough room for her...
"Okay, make a run for the ship, close the door, lock it and power up the deflector shields or whatever shields it has... you'll be safe there until this is all over, I will stand guard and continue this fight from the outside of the ship, and we can get you back to your freed people when this is all over and when we can determine it is safe... that way, if we lose here, you can also make your way out, and send more help... ok? Good! lets go!"
Orphen wasn't giving her a choice, it was an ultimatum, taking her and beginning to run along the edges of the combat, particle pistol in hand as he continued to run with her in the direction of Taelis' ship, looking to his master and nodding with a faint, yet, regretful smile. As if to say he was sorry for getting her involved in something which no doubt had likely interrupted her grander plans. If anything though, this act would perhaps give the Jedi a place in the senate, or at least another political ally, which, should never really be said no to in the grand scheme of things.
Once they would have reached their destination, all things going well, about ten seconds would have passed on the gauntlet's recharge time. Aiming his pistol, Orphen would begin to look for opportune shots, using the range-finder on his helmet and switching his vision to thermal optics on order to get a better bead on the combat ensuing before him, knowing full well that the rain here was more than inhibiting his natural sight.
