Chapter III: Order-chaos-Harmony

GOLBAH HILL, NABOO

The terror echoed through Hyperspace.
The tears came from nothing. Across the Southern Systems, business was occurring as usual. The children, across the region, were all released from their schooling for the summer. Businesses were readying for a bright and sunny time of year. Despite the challenges of the previous year, things were looking up. Ah yes, and that's when they could see them. By merely tilting one's gaze skyward, they would see the cracks in reality. The blue skies creaked and gave way, falling apart to reveal swirling abyss. Howls of undeath filled the air. Beasts of the Nether had come.
Druckenwell and Bothawui were the first to fall. So many followed behind them.
There was no defense that could be prepared for such a calamity, for who could forsee the literal sky giving way? By the time the chaos reached the ears of the Armed Forces, the streets were bathed in blood. The people tried to flee, hide, or fight. Yet they were overpowered. Most were torn to shreds. The unfortunate ones were twisted by the demons and turned into their own midst. Brother was risen, corrupted, and turned against Brother. And one by one, the Southern Systems began to fall.
But the Calamity did not move in a vacuum. This Benediction was planned. Coordinated. For as the monstrosities rampaged from the North, the West rose. The lawless region that had been the target of the nation's "Red War" rose as one. A mighty armada - assembled of every brigand and slaver that had been put of business - bore down upon the Confederate border. They cut past the defenses and pushed deep. They were as a blade, piercing through armor and biting through flesh. But they were not satisfied with drawing blood. No. Both the demons and the armada were aiming at the heart.
It had been a mere twenty-four hours since the assaults began. Naboo was in the crosshairs.
This is where the Southern Systems would make their stand. All forces that had not been ripped apart were recalled to the capital at once. The Knights Obsidian had been summoned from their quest - and provided valuable insight on who their adversary was. They were not fighting the remnants of Omni, or Akala - no, this was something primordial. Evil. Wrathful. It was called the Unmaker - and they were all the stood between it and unleashing hell across the Galaxy.
The clock was ticking. The Armada began to drop into the Naboo System at an alarming rate. And portals from the Nether began to open on Naboo's surface. Monstrosities flooded the streets. Theed was in chaos.
This stand would not just for their own people, but for all creation.

Wresting control of Naboo's airspace is essential to surviving the day. Face down the Armada bearing down on the Capital with all your might!

Monstrosities are prowling the streets of the Capital and have plunged Theed into chaos. Save as many lives as you can. Hold the Line.

GOLBAH HILL, NABOO

Things should have been...normal.

At least, that was what Isley was telling himself. Just over a day ago, the Southern Systems were settling into their "usual" groove. Since returning to the mantle of Vicelord, the sable-skinned man had spent weeks ironing out the redundancies of his successor. The military was streamlined. The Ministry of Commerce was conducting a thorough review. Everything was on the up. If someone had told him that the sky would literally be falling a day later, he would not have believed them. And yet, here he was, standing within the gilded walls of Golbah Hill, witnessing the flames.

The Vicereine Chambers had been his priority when the alerts began to ring out. As devastation wreaked across their systems, they had to prepare to evacuate the government. This was, thankfully, a nightmare they had lived through once before. Thanks to the treasonous Agents, the nation had a plan in place for capital assaults. It left a bad taste in the Vicelord's mouth every time this maneuver was discussed. But it was a necessary evil. The Viceroys had to endure, as they were the beating heart of their nation. Therefore, there was no taking chances. Isley, personally, had gone so far as to call in Draconis Sederius Wolf Draconis Sederius Wolf at the start of the evacuation.

Now, he waited within the lower levels of Golbah Hill for the shuttle to arrive.

Within arm's reach were his faithful Exarchs - John Locke John Locke and Srina Talon Srina Talon . They, too, were no stranger to the protocol. The one who was new to this maneuver was Her Majesty Svana Neoma Svana Neoma . She, understandably, did not want to set one foot on a shuttle. Not while the city was under attack. Isley couldn't blame her. But even in the midst of the chaos, he had to be the voice of reason. No matter how FURIOUS he may be.

"Your majesty, please." he said again, for what felt like the thousandth time, "We have to get you, and the Viceroys offworld. It's for your safety. Once Naboo has been secured, we can all return immediately."

"Dying here will do Naboo no good."

Queen Liviana

TAG: Darth Metus Darth Metus | Tyran Numeck Tyran Numeck

Things had finally started to fall into some sense of normalcy. Svana had managed to start building her Court back into some sort of functioning order. She had managed to get personal guards - a whole clan of them no less - and there had been revisions to the Royal Guard as well to maintain better security for not only Svana herself, but the people nearest to her, and those of her city. There had finally been a sense of accomplishment from the young Queen, a moment where she did not feel as if she had been an utter failure on the seat of her throne.

But it was short lived.

All at once everything came crashing down, in the most brutal of ways. Everything was in chaos, the people were frantic, and yet through it all she was being asked to leave? Again, for what felt like the millionth time, Svana scoffed as her gaze lifted from trivial things spread out before her to the Vicelord attempting to reason with her. "And my leaving will do the people of Naboo no good." she pointed out, again. "What sort of example does it set if I hike up my skirts and flee, while my people are in their homes, in the streets, being slaughtered without mercy?"

It was not often that any form of aggressive nature came out in the young Queen, but these were dire circumstances. At this moment, she wished she were trained in combat, for if she had been, she would be out there in those very streets herself, politics be damned. "I cannot abandon my people." she stated with all of the conviction she could muster. "They have to come first, especially above myself. They are why I am here in the first place." And she would not betray that belief in her.

Location: Naboo, Knights Obsidian Academy.
Belongings: Knights Obsidian Leathers | Asaraa's first Lightsaber.

Objective: Defend the Capital.

Kris hadn't known it back then, but the excursion to Javin alongside Taiia Mataan Taiia Mataan and Laneya Wexler Laneya Wexler would change her life forever. They'd been introduced to an ancient foe that had overwhelmed the young girl and resulted in her seeking private training from Diana Sophistica Diana Sophistica in order to feel less helpless when things got too intense, yet the consequences of the incident would reach much farther than merely shaking her confidence. They had awoken something, and while she didn't yet possess the knowledge to realize it, that ancient enemy had turned its sights upon the Capital World of Naboo itself. Kristyl's homeworld, where her very own family resided.

It was meant to be a day like any other. Attending the same old classes at the Academy since her return from Pii III, back to her usual routines and lectures. Instead, on the way to one of her classes, she had heard arguing from one of the courtyards outside and rushed to see what all the commotion was about.

Coming out into the courtyard, Kristy's eyes landed upon one of her fellow students, Eran Dunn, the Son of a high-ranking official on Naboo. Beside him were two senior members of the Knights Obsidian who were trying to convince him to 'willingly' allow them to escort the boy home to his family. The look and manner of tension carried about the two adults gave a sense of urgency that made Kris second guess whether to interrupt the three of them or not.

"We're sorry Eran but this isn't up for debate. Your father requests you accompany us immediately".

About to open her mouth and ask what was going on, Kristy was immediately caught off guard by the arrival of another pair of Knights. "Kristyl Arenais. Your Mother has requested your presence. You must come with us" they instructed her, one of them placing a hand behind her back and forcefully encouraging the girl to follow their lead.

"Wai- what!? What about my things??" She asked, confused and frustrated about whatever the heck was going on; "Why's Mom got you guys picking me up, what's happening??" She demanded, her anxiety rising up in her chest and sounding off in her words. She was almost being dragged out at this point, caught between wanting to follow the instructions sent by Asaraa Vaashe Asaraa Vaashe , and wanting to fight these guys away so she could walk on her own; "And it's Vaashe!" she corrected them with a snap.

Leaving the Academy, things quickly took a frightening turn. Kristyl had been walking with the Senior Knights when others outside had shouted in a panic, trying to flag them down. Before Kristyl understood what was happening, something raced overhead with the roar of what sounded like starfighter engines and the ground around them erupted in flames and debris. One of the Knights pushed her, shouting for her to run for cover. She didn't need to be told a second time, doing just that and seeking shelter nearby one of the speeders parked near to the front of the Academy.

Looking skyward, her face turned to horror as she saw all manner of starships in low orbit, flashes of light being sent hurling between them with various greens and reds. One of the smaller starships exploded and there was a second before the sound reached her and those who were outside, followed by a rush of wind that forced the girl to stumble backwards.

Kristyl now understood why her Mom had sent for her. They were under attack!

EE'EVERWEST ESTATE - GARDEN

The feeling of dread never left.

After Christophsis...after staring a god in the eye...unease had never left the pit of the Knight's stomach. He did his absolute best to carry on regardless. His duties were accounted for without question. His apprentices continued their lessons without delay. But in the back of Abel's mind, the colossal truth weighed down on him. For as long as he had been alive, he had a fighting chance. Sure, he wasn't going to one-man-army any nations - but at the very least, his home country could. If he had any issues with a man, or gang, he could stand up to it himself. He had a chance. But what chance in Hell did he have against a god?

This question lived in his mind as the heavens gave way.

And here today was intended to be fun. Yesterday, the Knighthood had been placed on high alert given the circumstances. Bothawui and Druckenwell went out in the blink of an eye - and all hell was breaking loose across the nation. Their midst had, of course, been recalled to the Capital to await orders. Abel and his team had arrived early, and thus they stopped by the residence of Lady Osenia Ee'everwest. There wasn't any official reason for the visit. Unofficially? Abel wanted to check up on her.

It was a good thing too.

As the heavens broke, shrill screams reached his ears from the front of the Estate. Attendants began running towards the rear gardens where they had stood waiting. Guttural noises followed in their wake, followed by the slithering forms from beyond. Abel, instinctively, stepped forward, saber burning in hand.

"Osenia! What's the best way out of here?" he called.

They were going to need an exit plan - and fast.

"We're approaching the planet."
With her Padawan Briana Sal-Soren Briana Sal-Soren in the rear seat of her fighter, the woman had jumped into hyperspace from Alliance territory; her target Naboo. Outside of her brief cooperation with Gerwald Lechner Gerwald Lechner on Aruza, Valery had not interacted with the CIS all that much - the frontlines with the Maw simply had kept her too busy. But when news reached her that Naboo was under attack by monstrosities looking to destroy the peace and safety of the world and many more, she couldn't just sit still.
While she was aware of political and philosophical differences between the CIS and the factions she aligned herself with, none of that mattered when so many innocent lives were at stake. As a Jedi, she had sworn to protect the peace and lives of those who needed it. She came to honor that promise, but she wasn't coming alone. With Brandyn Sal-Soren Brandyn Sal-Soren already in the middle of the action, she turned to her other Padawan, Briana for assistance.
"Briana." Valery began moments before they would jump into the middle of it all. "I know this world, your family, and the people here mean a lot to you. We will do everything we can to protect it, I promise you that, but please be careful, stay with me and keep thinking. We can't be reckless because of our emotions." she said with a calm tone but one that showed that she was worried about her Padawans.
Valery then pulled back the lever, and almost instantly, her mind was focused as the ship jumped directly into the middle of the ongoing, chaotic battle. Flicking switches on her panel, the X-wing shifted into attack mode, weapons arming and shields powering up as fighters engaged in dogfights all around them.
With guidance from the Force, the Jedi maneuvred through the onslaught of fire, until Valery spotted a pair of enemy fighters tailing a lone bomber makings its retreat from its assignment. Without a moment of hesitation, she banked right and rolled directly behind the enemy, her fierce orange eyes narrowed at them. Trusting Briana had gained a lock with their sensors, she opened fire and blew apart the enemy vessels to allow the bomber its escape.
"I'm going to take us down into the city. If the reports are accurate, civilians are trapped everywhere. From there, we can also help evacuate your family, if they haven't been saved already." Valery said through her comm unit as the ship's approach vector turned for the planet.
But as they pierced through the planet's atmosphere, a moment of silence would linger on-board - the sheer scale of the destruction that had struck the planet was beyond belief, and they could see it all through their cockpit window. To think millions of civilians were still down there... Valery shook her head and focused again.
"Here we go." And with that, the ship transitioned into a steep descent down towards Theed. She landed them in an open area and immediately opened the canopy so they could get out, and draw their weapons. Danger could be felt everywhere, so their first clash was certainly imminent.
However, before she went out to fight for the people of Naboo, she raised her comm unit to her lips and transmitted a message on open frequencies.
<Transmission>
"This is Jedi Master Valery Noble. Anybody in need of immediate assistance, please report your position."

Kyyrk knew what he must do. He had been there when Bothawui fell. He had watched as Mechis III was burned away to ash. And now, the survivors of his company were preparing themselves for the same fate upon Naboo. Kyyrk had called in one last favor. He had retired his old Lord Commander armor upon his retirement from the role. But today was no day to hide. Today was not the day to shrink from who he was. What he was. His mind was filled with thoughts of Denova. Of Commenor. Of Dromund Kaas. This was not the first time he had stood tall in the face of the end. He'd done so before. He would do so again. The Unmaker's forces were descending upon them, with infinitely more strength than they had mustered last time.

Such was his fate to stand among the ashes of doomed worlds. Powerless to stop the inevitable.

As he pulled his helmet over his head, he turned to Horace, perched on the waist-high wall beside him. He lifted his avian companion to eye level, and issued what, for all he knew, would be his final command. "Find Alessandra. Get her off Naboo." Without a word, Horace took flight. Kyyrk's blade flew from his shoulder to his hand. The enemy was at the gates. He'd wasted enough time already. He keyed up his datapad to broadcast a message. He still had some friends in this galaxy. Some who would still follow the man of old. Vylmria may breath its dying breath today, but it would do so in defense of the Confederacy. As the pure white blade of his lightsaber blazed to life, He stepped towards the wall of Theed Spaceport. The streets were already choked with bodies. Red with blood. The mobile turrets that had been erected to provide safe passage had fallen.

This was where he was to make his stand.

This was where the line was to be held.

If today was his day to die in defense of his nation? So be it.

Kyyrk vaulted over the wall, and plummeted to the street below. He dared not call for help, nor backup. The forces of the Confederacy were stretched thin as it was. He would get no backup. The help he would have was already here. The creatures recoiled as Kyyrk landed hard in front of them. But they surged forward all the same at the prospect of fresh meat. As Kyyrk stepped forward, he was filled with an old feeling. One that had ruled his life for so long. It was a drug. A weapon. A fuel. In the face of death, many would feel fear. But Kyyrk felt only one emotion. One that drove him to slaughter thousands upon thousands in his quest to evacuate the people of Naboo:

Rage.

The boxing match had been an enlightening event for the woman. An apparent talent for the force being recognized by someone with a suggestion for her harnessing the ability, though pointedly stating she was already capable in some ways.

Bringing the small trundle of gear with her, she'd put in her two weeks on Stewjon and taken the chance that had been offered rather than remain in the dark. Rather than floating through life with ignorant comfort of not knowing who or what she was. With someone else wearing her face, and traveling towards the inner circle of worlds had brought a few more curious eyes her way.

Assurances that she was not in fact Allyson Locke on holiday to Naboo, she hadn't earned a moment of peace aboard the civilian vessel she had booked a flight on here. Had found little peace among the throngs of bodies among Naboo with a wider eye to the galactic stage and especially with an eye for the Locke catalog.

All weary work fending of the other woman's fans.

In the days she had been here, things had been peaceful. An eerie sort of calm that she couldn't help but feel was similar to waiting on a storm around shipping containers. Going through a few checks and questions regarding her background. Or rather a lack thereof. Questions she expected but didn't enjoy answering. Headaches had been a common theme for her stay in the meanwhile with the questions prodding snippets of memory to jog back into her mind.

Her hand idly rubbed the feather necklace around her neck as she paced in the temporary bunk she had been allowed during her wait. Her gear stowed for the time as she picked through a holonet feed for the latest news. An alert blared across her screen, interrupting the lazy scrolling as she read and had time to panic.

She'd come here to join up and learn. And now the whole planet was under seige.

There were boots in the hall. Voices raised and urgent as she pushed off the bed and pondered her choices. The knock at the door drew her attention as it opened and a frantic face looked to her.

"Evacuation is underway. Get moving, stay low, stay safe." Was the simple command before they moved on. Sitting there in stunned silence, her brow scrunched up and indignation crept in.

She wasn't a child. She'd paved her own way for almost 15 years by herself now. Made her own decisions and learned hard lessons her own way. She wasn't about to run to safety because she'd been told to.

Rather than pack up and flee, she donned her suit and the mechanical arms before leaving the room and setting off outside. She tapped her comm, listening to the ensuing chaos of the attempts to secure a people that were foreigners to her.

Her blood boiled at the sight overhead. The sounds around her a beckoning war drum as violence cut loose and painted the streets. Her arms flexed, the hiss of hydraulics assuring her as she ran into fray with a punch into one of the strange creatures that now ran amuck through the people.

Squaling and shrieks made her ears ring before it rounded and she fought in earnest. It screamed. She roared. They clashed as others around her fought their own battles. She wouldn't run. Not when the weight of that choice would drown her in guilt for not doing something. Not when she could stop someone from ending up like her.

Alone and lost.

Draconis was sitting amongst yet another clans meeting in the main gathering hall. Well, meeting would be one word. A few punches short of what was about to be an all out brawl would be another. Men and women from various clans sat in their chairs arguing over yet another issue that had been bothering them for some time. Draconis's meetings with the Vicelord while having been productive, threw many of the the leaders into a question. Should they reintegrate, and if so how? Should they even bother trying to go home since last time "went so well"? Meanwhile Draconis was letting this all play out, letting each of the Khans voice their opinions, their points and counters to other Khans, and their rebukes would be shouted back all the same. Words such as buffoon, fool, ill-informed, and many more much more vulgar insults were thrown about like bullets in a firefight. Draconis was about to try and calm the assembly when a soldier burst into the room holding a transcript on a piece of paper.

"THE VICELORD HAS HAILED US SIR! THE CONFEDERACY CALLS FOR AID!"

The room would get dead silent as they all focused on the young man. He would storm forward, giving Draconis the paper transcript and watching as the former Viceroy would read it. Words of a fleet, a massive one, and beasts of the Nether rampaging throughout Confederacy space. People were dying. The Confederacy was under an assault like never before, and was now like a fighter being beset by ten opponents at once. Draconis's brow furrowed.

This was his fault.

If they had never left, had he been a better leader, this would have never happened. If the bastion of Surric had been in place, the Confederacy would have had the sword and spear it needed to counterpunch such an assault. It would have a shield to weather this storm. The guilt from his decisions and actions washed over him as he crumpled the paper in his hands.

"So what if the Vicelord calls us? What are we his pets that come when summoned?"

"Are you mad you blasted fool?! The Confederacy is under assault! Our home is under assault!"

"And!?! We left because it was no longer our home. It was no longer our people! To think that-"

"SILENCE!"

The room would go quiet once more as Draconis silenced the room, accentuating his point by slamming his fist into the wall. The guilt he'd been felt was now washed over with an anger unseen by many in the room. He now stood as he addressed the entirety of the room, his voice booming as it filled every nook, cranny, and crevasse.

"When we left we stated openly among us that our goal was to one day return when we and the Confederacy was ready. We agreed upon that in totality. We left to take the terrible weapons, the ships, the tanks and walkers away so that we could not do irreparable harm to The Confederacy. They are our brothers and sisters, whether you like it or not. That means they are our family, and while families fight we do not leave one another out in the cold. And despite our wishes, the entirety of The Confederacy now burns under hands that wish to massacre one and all. To wage a total war of annihilation on our very people. Ladies and Gentlemen, if there ever was or will be a time for our return that time is now. We have a sworn duty as the Bastion of the Confederacy. We are the shield for the innocent, the sword of the righteous, and the most terrifying fighting force ever realized. And now, more than ever before, we have a call to arms. Our people have always stood to be a beacon of light in the darkness, a force for good for our fellow Confederates. If we forsake them now, we abandon that guiding principle. Khans of Surric, Generals and Admirals of the Surric Local Defense Force. The Confederacy calls for aid! And Surric WILL answer!"

Draconis would take a breath as gave his next order to the assembly, in a roaring shout.

"MUSTER THE FLEET!"

A roar would rise from the Khans as they all raised their fists in agreement. The Keep became a hive of activity as transmissions would be sent out, ships would start spinning up their reactors and drive systems as alarms across the station were sounded. Men and women would rush down hallways as orders were issued and people went to their posts. From the smallest of Corvettes and gunboats the flagships of the Surric Fleet, the mighty Fury Class Battlecruisers, crewmen went to positions. Pilots would strap into their vehicles, gunners and commanders took positions in their tanks, walkers, and bombers. Ground crews would guide starfighters as they were loaded and placed into ready launch positions. Aboard the Odin Class Assault Transports, everything from infantrymen, tanks, and walkers to the close support craft that would be supporting them was readied. Final preparation checks were done, infantrymen doing their PCCs and PCIs, pilots running checklists, and gunners cycling weapons. And at the head of a massive fleet The Pride of Surric, flanked by Atin's Resolve and Unyielding Justice, would lead the battle fleet out of the docking ports of the keep. Measuring at five kilometers long, the Fury Class Battlecruiser (The Pride of Surric) was an unmatched ship of war and the lead ship of her class. Behind her the full might of the Surric Local Defense Forces were mustered. Over one hundred kilometers of ships and over 12 million fighting men and women. Draconis would stride aboard the bridge of his ship as he held his helmet in his hand, combat gear donned. Around him his crew, his people, all battle hardened veterans of war, strife, and the life of sacrifice they'd chosen when they left known space. He would issue his orders to the fleet as they moved to the jump point they'd established when they'd first constructed the station.

"Task Force Spear, Shield and Sword shall jump in with me to Naboo. Designate Fleet 1. Task Force Gladius, Glaive, and Arrow will go to the Surric System, coordinate with local forces, save as many as you can. Remaining Task Forces are to remain in reserve, we shall direct you where needed. God speed, and may the force be with you,"

"Sir, the ship is ready to jump,"

"Fleet 1, prepare to jump on my mark. 3, 2, 1, mark,"

A slow hum would sound through the vessel as the chunk of vessels would tear into the otherworldly dimension of hyperspace as they jumped towards Naboo. The last place Draconis had stepped foot as a Viceroy. He hoped at least they had faired better with the majority of the Central fleet of NavCom being based there. Even so, he expected them to come out guns blazing. The wrath of a terrible and vengeful god had been called upon by his Vicelord. And now it was to be unleashed in a final stand.

//: Allyson Locke Allyson Locke //:

Minutes before the invasion of Naboo.

Taiia slipped gently from Allyson's arms and padded across the room to her closet, content to let Allyson sleep a bit longer. A shadow and threat was growing, she could feel it as if the force itself was screaming out in warning. She knew the feeling well, she had felt it before during the Calamity but this, this was far greater. The obsidian lord drew a breath as she began to strap herself into her armor. She turned her eyes toward her bed where the brunette lay resting, resolving to let her enjoy what little peace there would be to have of this day.

She reached up to a shelf and took down her lightsabers placing both upon her belt, her eyes momentarily followed her hands to a small box that stored her old sabers. She opened the lid and claimed the two shorter hilts and gently fit them on the other side of her belt before closing the box and sliding it back onto the shelf. Pausing for just a moment the redhead looked at the ring on her hand before looking back to Allyson and quickly stepping across the room.

She knelt down next to the bed and gently placed a kiss on the Corellian's lips. Before whispering "Get up my love, I need your help." she laid a hand gently on her cheek, if it were possible she would send her back to Coruscant and have her far from the carnage that was about to be unleashed but the time for that had passed. Allyson would know the severity of the situation by the look in Taiia's eyes, there was a sorrow already there knowing the death and destruction that was to come.

Present Time

As Taiia and Allyson emerged from her home a look upward showed the situation immediately as the sky ripped apart and every foul servant of the unmaker began to pour out. It would not be long before screams and primordial roars began filling the streets, Taiia looked back to Allyson offering her hand, she would teleport them both into the bloodiest battle likely that either of them had the misfortune of being a part of. "If I told you to leave would you? To take Laneya and as many squires as you can and run?" When Allyson took her hand she gave an innocent smile and inclined her head as she laced their fingers together. She already knew the answer but it had to be said.

The frontier burned, those that the Confederacy had believed destroyed, routed, and dismantled had proven to be anything but. When the first alarms had gone out, the initial size of the forces arrayed against them had not yet been understood, she split her forces between all the locations. A task force to Roon, Druckenwell the enemy had counted on this, they had walked into a trap each of the systems was a slaughter meant to break apart the mighty fleet of the Confederacy into manageable sizes, Anashla and the rest of the sector armada had jumped into each battlespace to rescue those that they could until the directive to fall back to Naboo came out. It was at that moment that things began to fall silent on her bridge, the men and woman under her command even the droids understood the meaning behind those orders. Naboo meant abandoning everyone else, every soldier and ship engaged across the Confederacy, they would have to abandon every single one of them.

She had given the word, all around the bridge were downcast expressions she had no words of encouragement for them, odds were by the end of this day most if not all of those under her command would be dead. And their home with them, if they did not fight like their lives, depended upon it. Because it did.

Anashlas flagship reverted to normal space nearly point-blank at Naboo as they did they turned on the guillotine shield, and the mighty dreadnaught tore through an offensive line of enemy ships right off the bat. The main canons of the ship fired through the burning wrecks and immediately turned another enemy ship across the system into a debris field. To those outside the vessel the strain of the battles would be obvious, the Ventress had sustained heavy damage already and was venting atmosphere in several locations likewise in some locations several decks had simply been blown away. Yet still, the mighty ship continued to fight, her remaining armament began to engage as the remnant of her forces began to trickle into the system one or two at a time from wherever they were able to fall back from.

Anashla watched the sensor readings closely, a few turned into dozens, then hundreds but after a while, the hyperspace signatures slowed before ceasing. A few thousand ships were now all that she had at her command, an alarm rang out as one of the final ships that jumped in lost containment on reverting to normal space, causing a cascading failure of their reactor and showering every ship near her in superheated debris as it exploded in a brilliant blue hue. There would be time to mourn if they endured but only then.

"All ships get between the enemy and Naboo. Weapons free, make them pay for every inch!"

Theed, Naboo

Tick.
Annihilation.
Tock.
Salvation.
Tick.
Dead.
Tock.
Alive.

As the skies churned and the howls filled the air, and the lamentations of the damned and fallen wailed into the ether... As reality broke and hearts trembled... As the nightmares of the living in vessels vast and the hordes ran rampant even among the stars... tears appeared wherever the beasts tore through flesh and bone. The tears burned and flared open; wreathed in green flame the gates were open wide. Through them marched those shrouded in death.

A beast flung itself at the sudden appearance of one through a portal on Naboo. The loud, wet crunch of meat and bone followed as its mangled corpse slowly slid down a nearby wall.

"I want every woman, man, and child not battling to keep these fiends down evacuated now," a woman's sharp voice filled the air. It echoed across space to the few living and mostly dead that had emerged. The pallor of their commander glowed even as the darkness seemed to manifest all around them as a living abomination. "Purge those you can. Crush those you cannot." Even the corrupted were not beyond hope if they had a soul strong enough to resist.

It was not something a Witch should do lightly -- bridging the two realms -- but seeing how the boundary between them was already paper thin Vytal Noctura was confident the gods wouldn't mind. And if they did they she'd ignore them and do it anyway. She hadn't wandered the Abyss all this time to be told 'no' and to bow her head obediently. What was power if you lacked the will to use it when it was needed most?

How fortunate that there had been a dress rehearsal for today's events so long ago. When The Eye was set lose to ravage the many worlds and the Knights in particular. Would history being repeating itself in every respect? Perhaps not. Vytal's green eyes turned up toward the heavens where the ships gathered. Perhaps even the Evil that had shown itself learned from the past.

It mattered not. Life. Death. It was an endless cycle shaping and reshaping the world every day. Only a Witch didn't suffer a crazed Will to raze an entire people -- let alone an entire galaxy. So, if the Unmaker wanted to break that cycle it would need to contend with an equally strong Will to survive.

Another Horror snarled and snapped as it leaped toward the Dathomiri woman with its bony claws extended toward her face. The Witch seemed to slid across the ground in the blink of an eye; as if the monster had misjudged the distance and now found its reach beyond the target's head. Vytal's left hand caught the beast by the throat as her green eyes burned. "Please." The deformed creature's body was then engulfed in green fire that had its head tilt back in agony a moment before it turned into black ash that scattered upon the wind.

“I understand,” Briana acknowledged, saying nothing else as the ten second alarm rang before their drop from hyperspace, Briana’s hands started switching various switches and buttons, trying to keep her mind preoccupied with what was in front of her. “I’m initiating the inertial compensators,” she stated, knowing the terminology wouldn’t be lost on Valery. This was her ship after all, and Briana was just the copilot.

Starlines began to fade, the blue swirl forming into individual stars as the great green orb of Naboo appeared before them, engaged in a raging battle. Had it not been for the very real threat, and the fear she felt for her loved ones gripping her heart, Briana might have smiled to see her home world after all this time, since she’d last said goodbye to all she’d known and run away with Brandyn five years ago.

'There is no emotion, there is peace.' Briana thought.

It was a strange thing for her to be relying on a code she so heavily scrutinized at every turn, but in that moment it brought a small measure of calm to the young Sal-Soren. 'You can do this.'

Focusing all her attention on the role she had to play while heading down into the masses of ships, Briana moved to engage the targeting system, teeth grinding as Master and Padawan ripped a path through the chaos to reach planet side.

The flight over Naboo was eye-opening, unable to recognize the home of her childhood as smoke billowed over various parts of the city. The sight of it all was causing so much distress in Briana that she had to turn her face away from the viewport, her eyes closed tightly against the tears that started forming. It was so much worse than she could have ever anticipated.

'Mom... Dad... Blaire...Aunties... Hisahi... please, please be safe.'

Flipping from the starship once they touched down, Briana landed with relative grace and drew her lightsaber in fluid tandem, holding it in a defensive position. “We have company!” She hollered to Valery, a chill running down her spine while slicing her blade in an upward arc against the first swarm that rushed towards them.

All was normal on the bridge of the Hell Hound, Jerric stood at the helm watching as his crew monitored the testing of a new device that had been developed for a new flagship he had proposed to the Confederacy. But that is when everything changed.

His communication officer perked up, "Sir you're gonna wanna hear this." The High Marshal took steps towards the communications officer a brow raised in slight confusion, and then he heard dozens of distress signals ringing across the sectors, but distinctly Naboo.

Without a moment's hesitation, Jerric turned towards his helmsman. "Tell the task force to set a course for Naboo, we are under attack, all other forces are to quell any fighting within our sectors, protecting the civilian populous is our number one priority."

The crew of the Hell Hound began to move quickly, courses being sent and transmissions being sent out to different ships throughout his sector of the Confederacy, the Marshal stood at the center of the bridge, his hands crossed behind his back a bulwark of steadiness in this time of confusion, he knew the men and women under his command would look towards him for direction so all he could do was look this threat in the eye and fight till his last breath.

Glancing over he saw the movement of his task force on their sensors, all lining up and preparing for a jump to the Naboo sector, all eyes slowly moved towards him as he looked towards his helmsman, "We are ready to jump sir." Jerric gave a nod and with his fingers, he pointed forwards, "Engage."

As soon as his ship was about to launch into hyperspace a fleet of enemy forces fell upon his task force, he watched as ships were torn apart before his eyes, just as his ship lurched into hyperspace. The crew became speechless, seeing countless friends and comrades die before they could react, Jerric did not let any emotion out, only clenching his hands tighter as he looked forward.

"This is not the time to mourn, there are still millions of people that are seeking our protection, those we have lost today have done so in the name of all those they hope to protect, their loss was to save the Confederacy. Eyes forward, heads down, we still have work to do."

The oncoming danger had been felt before it arrived. There was a stirring, a churning in Eenia's gut that had not allowed her to sleep that night, and kept her pacing up until that first break in the silence of peace was made. To some, the chaos that ensued may have seem instantaneous. Like a flood of disaster had descended upon Theed, on Naboo as a whole, and was intent to rip it asunder in a flash of teeth and otherworldly claws. For Eenia, it happened in almost slow motion. She watched as that first wave sprung to life, and the panic of the people immediately afflicted spread from confusion to panic on the streets beneath her apartment.

Moments later, the blonde sprung into action. She had already been dressed due to not being able to sleep, but she stepped into a pair of boots and pulled them into place upon her calves before she grabbed her gear and was out the door without so much as a backwards glance to the life she may very well never return to.

From there, time blurred. Eenia could not recall how long she had been upon the streets, dragging screaming and crying bodies from the places they were left to ultimately die to safer corners in order to heal and seal wounds. More than once her abilities were not enough, and instead she was merely there to hold a perfect stranger in their last, struggling and terrified moments of life, and each time she could feel a little piece of herself darken in reaction. To empty out, to push it deep, down and away, and then she would get back to her feet and return to scouring the streets for those who were crying for help.

She was not a line of defense out here, or at least she had not intended to be as such. Nia had stepped upon these streets to save lives, the protect those who could not protect themselves. To give them a chance to get away from what was becoming a literal hell hole rather than their once beloved home. But at one point, her feet stilled, her back straightened, and she half turned to look down a street she had not originally been facing. One of the twisted, deformed bodies of someone who had once been so much more had spotted her, and a moment later she was being charged. Nia did not reach for the saber clasped at her belt, instead she set her chin and clenched her jaw as that thing rushed towards her, and when it leaped at her both of the blonde's hands lifted, stalling the creature midair before it could get close enough to touch her.

Anger twisted inside of Eenia, these things were going to take another home from her. She was going to have uproot again. Move again. Find a new place to call home again. The lids slit over sea-green colored eyes and one of her hand closed tightly while the other stayed open palmed. The creature within her Force grip gagged and snarled as it sputtered for control, but this did not deter Nia any. If anything it fueled her, and then her closed fist flexed, tightening more before it opened again, causing the head of this creature to burst. The limp body was then dropped with a thud and Nia turned away from it, walking away in search of more actual people who needed tending to and healed.

Duran and the rest of his squad had already set themselves on the rooftops their rifles taking down beast after beast, the monstrosities that roamed the streets being culled by the squad, but seemingly as they took down one creature, more and more came at them. Duran was doing all he could do to make sure that the civilians attempting to flee could make it out safely.

He heard from across the way a loud yell, looking over he saw a man underneath his command being flung around like a small chew toy, Duran turned and shot the beast that was attacking the boy and watched as the thing was obliterated to ash. Duran took no time in moving from his position towards the wounded soldier's position, taking out any hostiles as he moved.

All the man could do was look down at the body, seemingly torn apart as the younger man looked up at Duran his breath shaky fear written in his eyes as he fought to remain conscious. Duran knelt down beside the boy and gave him a hit of a pain reliever as he held the young man's hand. Continuously he had watched young men and women die at the hands of all the evil in the galaxy, every death took a toll on the soldier but this wasn't the time or the place to mourn. "Stay with me soldier, just a little longer okay?" The Corporal tried to comfort the boy, but even he knew that it was too late for him, "Just save as many as you can, make sure I didn't die for nothing." The soldier looked up at Duran and handed him his ammunition before he went limp his eyes staring up into the sky.

All Duran could do was give a nod before he stood up and began firing into the swam that had hit across his squad's line in the moments he had spent aiding the younger man. Every ounce of rage boiled to the surface as he aimed down the sights of his weapon taking out as many of these filthy monstrosities as he could.

Everything else seemingly faded to the background, the sounds of people talking over the radio on their situation and how close the enemy was to breaching their makeshift positions, all that drew Duran's attention was the beasts that had taken another member from him, another young man who would never see the light of day again, a light that was snuffed out too early.

A loud scream drew him from the blindness his rage had created, his eyes scanned towards where he had heard the yell from to see a young girl and her mother running from a small group of monstrous beings attempting to slay them.

He wouldn't fail them, he couldn't fail them. This is all Duran could think as he lept down from his position and ran towards the position where he had spotted the mother and child.

The streets were filled with screaming. Blood flowed like water, bodies were thrown about every which way as the living were devoured, and the dead were turned. A small teen cowered in a stand as she hid from the monsters as they savagely devoured those around her. She made not a single sound, out of shear fear alone. She had been on a short trip to the market with her parents when the event had started. At first they had stared up at the sky in confusion, and then when the beings started raining from the skies that confusion turned to panic. And as those that corrupted turned into literal monsters themselves, panic turned into terror and chaos. At first adults and children would turn what seemed to be madness, attacking and devouring their kin. But as the minutes turned to hours the people would change into monsters, some even mutilating the corpses of the dead to cause them to rise. Nothing was safe, no one was safe. In the scant few moments the teen's parents had, they had hidden her in a fruit stand and told her to be quiet and hide. They got three meters away before they were fallen upon. The mother ran through with a fang from a demon, the father snatched up by a tentacled monster before being ripped to pieces and eaten. And now the monsters roamed the streets as they savaged the remaining survivors, and fed on the dead. The girl sat there, cowering as she didn't know what to do. Meanwhile the monsters got closer, and closer to her hiding spot. They would soon find her.

And that's when something far worse arrived.

A dark presence that could be felt by anyone even remotely close. A hunger. A pain. An insatiable lust to devour, destroy and kill that drowned out even the monsters that were already there. This was no servant to the unmaker. A spawn of the terrifying Nocna Mora.

A tear in reality would appear as a single clawed hand would rip its way through the planes of existence. The attention of every monster in the quarter would snap to the location, a beacon of raw force presence drawing their ire. Their hunger. What followed was a dark metal head as it smashed its way through, pulling itself to this plane of existence. And behind it, a massive hunk of black metal vaguely resembling a sword would slam into the ground. A few of the beasts would hiss and click as they sized up their next meal, several deciding to lunge all at once. The hulking figure would simply take a step, grip its weapon with both hands, and swing faster than it had any right to. The metal itself would ring as it cut through the air, a dark low metallic hum, and slam through each of the attackers as though they were made of nothing. And as it cut through them, their own entrails and blood would spray across the market as the very life forces they had and consumed would seemingly float to The Monster. It would open its mouth as it seemingly inhaled, devouring these souls as it stopped for a moment and now sized up its would be predators. The flurry of screaming, the squish of gore being flung onto walls, and the blur that was it tearing the rest of the demons in the quarter to pieces would be the only signs that something here was very, very, wrong. And as it stood over the dead remains of the beings that had tried to consume it, the monster would let out a shrill force scream in victory which would cause a small yelp. This would cause the monster to look down from its roar, and snap its attention to the source of the noise. Of the thousands of voices in its skull, its hunger would direct it forward, causing it to take a few steps towards the stand. The beast would sniff the air a few times, taking in the scents as it finally caught the scent of humans. It would reach forward with a free hand and rip the stand away to reveal the girl. She screamed as she scrambled to get away, utterly terrified by the blood soaked and armored monstrosity. But it cared not for what she wanted. It had to feed. To devour. To destroy life.

It was interrupted however when a blaster shot would slam into its back, literally dissipating against the carapace-like skin of The Monster. When it spun around to confront its would be attacker, it saw a simple man on the ground, bleeding out from wounds he'd taken earlier. But he still had strength. He still had will enough to fight. He yelled hoarsely to the beast's prey as he squeezed off a few more shots.

"Go! Run! I'll hold it off! Just go!"

As the monster took one menacing step after another towards the dying soldier, he coughed up blood as he kept firing. The teen would scramble to her feet and immediately take off at a sprint, her adrenaline pumping through her veins as she ran to anywhere that wasn't here. But it mattered little to the monster she'd left behind. In this life or the next, none could outrun it. It would devour all of life itself. And as it finally got before the soldier, it would pick him up casually with a single arm as he kept trying to shoot it with his blaster rifle. Until he pulled the trigger and all he heard was click. The blaster's ammo pack was empty. The Monster growled low as it brought him to eye level, its tendrils in the force enveloping the two. Visible light could be seen flowing from the man's face as it opened its jaws pulling the light into them. He would try to resist. He would struggle in its grip.

But the man's death would be signaled with a scream.

Prescience.

It was what had him on Naboo before all hell broke loose, though it wasn't of him. The unsettling vision experienced by his master's son, Emir Sato-Viren, more than a month prior had been set aside - always in motion, the future is - and almost forgotten, but the subsequent, persisting feeling that something would befall their shared homeworld came from none other than Briana Sal-Soren Briana Sal-Soren herself, when she confided in him about it, over a week ago. One person getting a warning about a possible future event was, par for the course, noted but not relied upon as what would happen... but two? Two was cause for concern, enough that Merrick Sato had put it upon Viz to remain behind while he and his wife took their children to settle in at the Jedi Praxeum on Ossus, to delve deeper into the way of the Jedi, as was already planned for. Something, too, about his trials being this very thing, should it come to pass.

The Force works in mysterious ways.

"Well, no shet," sharp words under his breath, the dazed feeling of this being it in more ways than one had faded in the wake of this hellscape of reality, but the feeling of not being ready was more dogged in how it clung to the back of his mind; it was a multifaceted, complex thing that hit him like a ton of bricks that had, if he were honest, been hanging over his head for some time. But he'd learned to compartmentalise early on in his time under the guidance of the man that was his best friend's third cousins' father.

Vizion shook his head, closing those thoughts away and peering out of an alcove he'd slipped into in an eerily quiet and narrow alley, to gather his focus after dropping down from the same rooftops that became host to snipers and the like. He pulled himself back in, rested his head against the stone of the alcove wall, and stretched out his senses, listening, feeling, in the particular ways he had been taught to do. They were all spoiled for choice in the countless ways they could help Naboo survive, a fact that came all the more clearer when his senses correlated with the bird's eye view he'd taken the opportunity to grab. While he knew the situation was in constant flux, he had a basis to start from, and...

Oh, there you are, Bri-utiful.

...more thoughts to pack away, and keep to himself. So she was here now, too. She had to be, because there was really no other option, and while he drew his senses back in and squashed down the wellspring of his own future that her presence provoked, the lid on his thoughts was slammed down and clamped shut rather unceremoniously the moment an ungainly and ugly beast decided it would try to wedge and scrape its way into the same alley. Make that two or more, from both ends of the narrow thoroughfare.

"Double shet jackpot, then..."

The only way out was up, or through, but he was gonna see just how many of them he could bait into coming after him, first. With one of his two blades lit, he stepped out of the alcove as the alleyway got darker, bit by bit, the golden blade casting a somewhat gilded glow on the stonework, while he eyed up what was probably one of the ugliest things he'd ever seen; well... he'd have to think about that.

"...come on, you filthy animal..."

He edged backward, keeping his awareness open, not willing to be overtaken from behind, while keeping tabs on an upward exit.

"...I know you want a piece of this padameat!"

It was all that William could do to hold back the onslaught that came upon the city, his blades cutting through monsters of the nether left and right, his eyepatch having been torn off in the fighting, the eye that it had covered revealing his, Eye of Wrath, the spirit of Horak-mul swelling within him as he fought on.

His aura was filled with rage and darkness, he felt the anger and the control of this demon slowly loosening as he let Horak-mul fuel his anger and give him his strength, every with every swing he felt his slip on reality loosening. He knew he needed to stay in control, but he also needed to defend all these people. These people needed him to fight on and to do that he needed the aid of the Sith spirits strength.

"AHHHHHHggggh" The rage, the pain that is all he could feel, his arms going numb as he continued to clear out the swarms of monsters from getting any closer to the fleeing civilians. William had been using the force to enhance his speed and his strength but the horde would not falter so easily.

Dodging and slicing his blades struck home once again, his feet moving as quick as lightning and his swings crashing like thunder against his prey. The light slipped away from the man, he knew that if he continued he would be consumed by the darkness within. He knew that his master Lunara Azure Lunara Azure would be saddened by his loss, but he prayed she would understand he did it for these people, for those who could not defend themselves.

His aura flared once more, for those that could see him his veins swelled across his body, glowing a dark red color as they streaked, his eyes seemingly having a red glow around them as his slaughter continued, the withered corpses continuing to pile at his feet. William just had to fight a little longer and he would make everyone safe. Just a little longer.

NETHERWORLD - INBOUND

"Are you not pleased?"

The feminine voice rang out across the "Bridge" - though the Gen'Dai could hardly refer to it as such. Where he stood was much more akin to the belly of a beast than a command centre. Where one would typically expect consoles and the cutting edge, there was flesh. One was able to replicate the same processes - but it was far more grotesque than any thought possible. But for this, Gath would not complain. Long had he waited for this opportunity, and no some of discomfort would dissuade him. But it was not the squelching under his boots which caused his expression to remain severe.

It was the battle. It was focus.

"I have no reason to be please, creature." His voice was thunderous. His thoughts were punctuated by the sickening squeal of sinew as he moved, stepping closer to the column of light before him. Inside stood the projection of a young, human child. She was not real. She was a machine - one pilfered from Enos years ago.

"But we're winning! A day more an-"

"We have not won. Not yet. I will spare no thought for joy until the enemy has been broken."

The machine child pouted. Gath was unamused.

"Are you ready to play your part, child?"

This perked the little one up. Digital teeth form an ear-to-ear smile. Crimson then dominated her eyes.

"I was born ready."

"Good."

NABOO - ORBIT

171753160.png

Herald of the Unmaker: Meggido
Gath could hear the comms thundering.

The Armada was a useful tool, but it was no military force. The assault of the day was bearing fruit, insofar as the Confederates continued to be caught unaware. The pirates and warlords could point and shoot, yes, but they were not a unit. They were a cacophony. They were not the Gen'Dai's men - and thus, he spared not a thought about them upon his arrival. There was concern in the voices that cried over the Corsair channels. Concern that the gem of the Confederate Navy - the infamous Fortressa had arrived in orbit above Naboo. This would be of little consequence. In fact, it caused a single, bemused chuckle to escape from the beast.

"Put us down there."

His order was met with childish glee from the feminine program. Their living vessel "shuddered" as the dimensions broke before them. Gath could "see" through its eyes - and witnessed the impact on baited breath.

In one shining moment, the Fortressa stood defiantly, unleashing fighters to answer the Corsair Armada.

In the next, a ravenous appendage stretched forth from the abyss. Its size was on par with a battlecruiser. Yet its pace far outstripped one. It moved across space at a blinding speed, until it collided with the Fortressa's hull. EXPLOSIONS rocked the Flagship immediately. Yet this was only the beginning. The appendage coiled about its form - as if to hold it in place.

Thousands upon thousands of teeth stretched through the portal. A momumental maw which then bit clean through the vessel. The devastation which occurred within its jaws did not phase Meggido in the slightest. It chewed. It crunched. And it spat that the Confederacy's hopes clean out.

"How long until we're free?"

"A few minutes. But we can do plenty from here."
