Beskar and Phrik and stuff - Production Amounts

This stuff is supposed to be rare per canon, as are other restricted items in the list.

Could it be possible that we hold this at a standard of limited production, with a max of Minor at the most (with a lot of dev as is flexible by FJ judgement and our Standard Dev thread guide) ?

Ideas? Thoughts?

It just seems ridiculous seeing mass production of these supposedly rare materials.

I totally agree and have suggested it be written somewhere before. Down with Mass Produced Restricted Mats.

If it were allowed I could Mass Produce Phrik Body armor and issue it to every soldier in a Major Factions army. That's bad.

Because having mass produced beskar tanks is ridiculous.
Having a mass produced ship that's plated in beskar is ridiculous.
Having a mass produced beskar suit for an elephant war beast... Is ridiculous.

This isn't making it harder.

The suggestion is this. To add to the guideline that the dev that is there with the standard restricted mission / forging thread can grant someone limited production.

With the additional flexibiltty that if they do more dev ( which those who already want minor and mass production already do ) then they can get a max of minor.

Production: (The scale is Unique (Only One Character), Semi-Unique (Only A Handful of Characters), Limited (Only A Select Group Of NPCs/PCs), Minor (Any Character, Only Select Groups Of NPCs), Mass-Produced. (Anyone.))

At limited, they still get plenty of flexibility at only a select group of npcs/ pcs. At minor, any char and only a select group of npcs.

So here's another thought.

How much phrik do you need to make:
One sword
One suit of armour
One starfighter

Should we have our own internal guide and the rough dev for different scales of use?

After reviewing all inputs - I agree with everything you're saying. now would someone be able to make a mass produced if they provided several mining/forging devs? [member="Cira"]

I'm dumb I can't read.

So the end result will be to add this to the "Standardization of Dev threads Guide"

Restricted Materials, Production limits.

  • The standard development thread for obtaining restricted material may grant up to limited production. For a max of minor production, additional development is may be required based on the judgement of the FJ.

Or does someone else think they could say it more pretty?

How's this?
I. To be able to use a Restricted Item in your Factory Submission, a writer must first complete the objective attached to the restricted item in a convincing manner that adds to the quality of the role-play thread. Standard development may grant up to limited production, with a maximum of minor production following additional development. Below in alphabetical order are the items and their associated objectives.

@Spencer Jacobs

For standardization.

Because I have a feeling someone is going to ask, where does completing the story challenge fall in here? For instance, if you beat a Mandalorian half to death or lose to an NFU, how much of the material would that get you?

I think those are fine enough to go up to Semi-Unique. What i've seen those used for is for their own personal armor rather than anything really crazy in terms of production.

The "Standard development may grant up to limited production, with a maximum of minor production following additional development. "

This means that depending on that quality and your judgement, you may grant from Unique to Limited with the standard development. For example, would you be more keen to do a limited amount of knives over a limited amount of starfighters? or would there be a difference in development there that you would want for the writer who wrote a 10 post thread to up it up a little bit. more?

It doesn't have to be auto limited.
