Between a hoth and a hard place

Jace stayed there tending to the fire, listening to the girl whimper in her slumber for hours. He wasnt one for sympathy, but he couldnt stand hear thr girl in as much pain as she was, and he didnt even know her name.

Night time fell, and jace used the last of the blanket from the girl to cover himself up, laying on the opposite side of the fire. The howls his body made in the form of aches and pains finally won, as his eyes closed and he drifted off to sleep

Night time fell, and jace used the last of the blanket from the girl to cover himself up, laying on the opposite side of the fire. The howls his body made in the form of aches and pains finally won, as his eyes closed and he drifted off to sleep

La'kuus woke up with wide eyes just as Jace fell asleep. She eyed the man before her for a long moment, then carefully slid out of the protective covers that he tended her too. Still had weapons... She felt around, then stood up and carefully made her way into the wreckage of the ship. There, she tried as quietly as she could to navigate her way around to get to the pilot's seat.

If she couldn't do that and find her old comlink, she would have to come up with something else to get her ship back here. Maybe a makeshift distress signal.

La'kuus worked for a few hours on getting some parts together. The spices, or what was left of it, her R3 remote, the beacon, and a few miscellaneous wires. She worked until sunrise on getting the beacon connected and working, but even then, it would take nearly hours for her ship to get here. The fire was wearing out, and a blizzard was coming in...

The cold forced jakes eyes open, as reality pushed him back into the thick of the situation, standing up, ne shivered more, looking around he saw no sign of the girl.

"This situation gets better and better..." he uttered

A sudden loud pinging sound came from behind Jace, where La'kuus was huddling around a small group of blankets with the beacon on top of it. She looked back at the sudden voice of not blizzard, and motioned over to him. "Come here. I want to make a deal with you." She spoke quickly, still working on something in the mess of wires that she had created.

Jace brushed the frost from his hair and eyebrows, stumbling his numb limbs over to her. This would be good.

"D-ddeal?" He forced out of his chattering mouth, collapsing on the ground in front of her to conserve heat.

She gave a firm nod, pointing her blaster in random directions as she fiddled with her device. "I have a ship that can hold literally one passenger. I'll let you take a ride with me if I get all the remaining spices free of charge, and you go off the radar for a day until I successfully get my pay." She poked at the beacon, sending the signal at long last. It would still be a few hours in this storm. "Or I could kill you can use your body as a blanket."

"Or, you could thank me for saving your damn life, princess!" He spoke firmly

"Besides, you really think we can salvage even half of the spice? Its either soaked or burned up!" He fell with his back against the ground, shivering still.

Letting out one long breath, a valuable asset, he rethought his words. "Fine. Deal."

A tiny grin came to her lips. "I thought you'd say that. Now hold up that metal pole in front of me, right on top of the beacon. The snow is hard enough to get a signal through, and I'm not sure if I can get my ship here in time. We're going to need to keep digging, or make a fire around the snow area."

Getting back into his refular mind set, he let out another chuckle given the situation, stood up and held the pole down for her.

"Wow these tables have turned" he spoke

"Never thought id end up on this side of the pole" he joked, smiling but letting out a cough, with a small amount of blood continuing.

She looked up with an unamused face, then went to gather the wood and start the fire. R3 was bringing a ship along, it just was going to take... a long, long time. Pulling a blanket around herself, she shivered gently. "I was just doing my job. You upset some people. Don't take it personally."

Taking a seat next to her, pulling around another blanket, jace replied.

"I upset most people, so, no hard feelings here" he managed to sqeeze out the words from his tired lungs.

"this is definitely not how I imagined my day" he joked

She looked up for a moment, then pulled one of the coats over her blanket, moving closer to the fire. She stared into it, reflection of the flame flickering up in her eyes. Slowly she nodded her head. "I'm a citizen of Tirahnn, one of the richest of the planet in fact. I host parties every few days. When I have the dance battle, you can be one of the VIP guests."

Jace let out a laugh and a smile of gratitude.

"Sounds nice, you never told me your name though"

Jace knew getting to know her was risky, if they got out of this, hed most likely never see her again. But then again, what else was there to do.

"My name is La'kuus... You know, I'm not always going to be a bounty hunter. I'm going to be a saleswoman! Sell all the things, everyone will love me, and I will become rich! So rich, I will buy all of the things." She shivered harder, struggling to keep coming up with nonsense to say to keep her lips from freezing up.
